Filling In Other Text Boxes With Corresponding Record Data From Query

I have a query that selects records in a certain date range. Then I have a textbox that gets an input of the earliest date of that range... I used the code...

=DMin("<field name>","<query name>")

What I want to do is fill in other textboxes next to that one with the other fields' data for that corresponding record. So for example, the query runs and outputs the data and part number 2123 was ordered 10/2/2012, which happens to be the earliest in that particular date range. So the one textbook does work and outputs "10/2/2012"...Now I want another textbox right beside it to output "2123".

Automatically Filling Text Boxes

I have a combo box for rooms: single, twin, double, suite, grand suite

This is found from a lookup table

In the next field on the lookup table is the cost per night for the room, how can i get the cost per night to automatically appear in a text box below the room type combo box.

I asked this the other evening and somebody said it was to do with making the table the bound source or something but i didn't understand.

An explanation would be great

Filling Unbound Text Boxes

What i'm trying to do is fill several unbound text boxes on a form.

I have an "Employeetbl" with "Employeename" and a "Projecttbl" with "Projectname". what i want to do is have about 10 text boxes from left to right on my form. Then fill these with all the employee names from my "Employeetbl".
Underneath this i will have about 10 text boxes from top to bottom and i'd like to fill these with the project name from the "Projecttbl"

anyone have any idea?

I have a form for user to select multiple items from a combo box, and 18 unbound text boxes , each time user selects an item in combo and hits "add" the value appears in txt box by order, I mean select1 then "add" filling txtbox1, select2 then "add" filling txtbox2 ... and so on till we reach txtbox18, then msg box appears that he filled the whole 18 boxe. I have already done this before for one txtbox which is a very simple operation, but i cannot figure out how to do it with multiple txtboxes.

Filling In A Text Field With Data From Another

This is simple Access but I am quite simple so help would be cool
all I want to know is how to put text from one field into another, but not every time.
lets explain
I have an order form and two fields , one date booked , and one date requested.
if date booked is empty I want to copy the info from date requested to it, if its full I want Access to say its already booked.

its porbably something along the lines of where datebooked.txt = "nothing" then datebooked.txt = date requested.txt or something like that anyway

I have a form on which there is a series of text box controls relating to different frequencies. At the moment I enter a value in to each of these manually.

However, I would like to have an unbound text box where I can paste in all the values (6 or 8 of them) from excel and then press a button and they would be copied in to the individual boxes.

So far I have my design:

I'm not sure where to start with regard to the code as I don't know how to handle delimited text - is it column delimited in excel?

I imagine some sort of loop, such as a do until will be required but again not sure.

Sychronised Combo Boxes And Filling In Forms

Hi All,
Totally new to access, been asked to make a database for a historical society. To make life easy, in descibing the hist. society's numerous items, I thought it best to follow the standard museum catalogue naming system, i.e everything has a primary and secondary classification. So what I have done is create two combo boxes, with the choices in the 'secondary' classification field limited by the choice in the 'primary' combo box. These controls are based on two tables that contain only the names/info on primary and secondary classification. It works nicely. However, because these controls are on a data entry form, when you make your choices in these combo boxes, the data is not recorded on the appropriate data table (presumably as the controls are linked to those other tables). Everything else you type in the form (like the item's location or autonumber) is saved in correct table.
Other problem is that every time you go to add a new record, and change the primary/secondary choices, it changes all the records on the form to equal these choices.
How do I fix it, or is there nothing I can do (as it may be totally impossible - I don't know!)??

Any help greatly appreciated, but please talk very simply and slowly - I am a complete novice!

Sub Form With All Unbound Text Boxes To Store Record

Hi,

As a part of reducing traffic on file server, I am planning to read less record on the form and hence I tried removing forms record source. (Attached sample db)

I kept all unbound textboxes onto the forms and save new record to the table using codes back of the command button. This is working great with main form. But doesn’t with sub form. I tried removing record source of sub form and keeping unbound text boxes to appear record if it exists.

If you enter 1 in InvNum text box on main form, you will find it brings record. I don’t want to show the record on the sub form unless I call it from main form.

How can I use the same trick of unbound text boxes with sub form too?

Please extend your help.

I have a form with 1 unbound listbox as drop down list (entypolst), an unbound text box(entypotxt) and a command button. The list box reads items from a table. I want to change a value (text) on listbox, input a text on textbox so pressing the button add a new record in a table (Table1 fields Category,Product) showing in my form as subform (SFTable1) in datasheet view. For that reason a made the following code:

Data Disappearing From Unbound Text Boxes Upon Edit.

Hello,

I have a form that utilizes a combo box called cboProgAddr (for Program Address). The cbox has 5 columns each of which fills in an adjacent text box. Since I needed the option of making corrections to these text boxes once they were filled in I need to set them up as unbound via the following code in the After Update event of cboProgAddr:

As you can see it puts each field of data into two separate text boxes. Here's the issue: If I have to go back to the form after the original data entry the following boxes are blank...

txtProgStreet
txtProgCitySt
txtProgZip

while the following retain the orginal data...

txtLocStreet
txtLocCitySt
txtLocProgZip

The original cboProgAddr maintains its original data. All six fields above are stored in the same table as text field. I'd like all the boxes to maintain the data from the original input.

I'm totally baffled why this is so. I've attached images of the combo box control functions if that helps.

my problem seems to be very familiar to the one in this thread :

Basically I have a list of tables in one combo box. I want the user to select which table. ( The tables are stock information, each table for each different day of the stockmarket)

Then they select the Stock they want to look at. ( These are the same in all the tables obviously, so it is the same in the drop down box)

NOW, the bit i'm struggling with. Is for a textbox below to show the value found IN the table name selected, with the stock selected. How would i do this in SQL, or VBA with SQL.

I'm trying to write code which writes text into text boxes on a form depending of certain content of other text boxes. The names of the text boxes are all very similar

F.i. R1, R2, R3 ...... R12 if the content of these boxes are empty then the content of the corresponding text boxes VR1, IR1, VR2, IR2, VR3, IR3.......VR12, IR12 should also be empty.

In fact I am trying to write something like this

Text Box Filling In After Combo Box Selected - Need To Sort On Split Form

I have a table [Employees] that has the field [FirstName] and [LastName]. On my form [Jobs], I have a combobox [ComboWho]. The combo box has all of the possible first names. When a first name is picked, it makes the last name fill in a textbox.

In the real version, it is a [LastName] is a lot of information, so it is kept in a memo field. I tried to use cascading combo boxes, but it cuts off my text.

I keep getting it to almost work... I've tried about 5 different methods... DLookUp, subform, etc.

Right now, I'm using this code:

It has properly filled in the textbox. I thought it was working perfectly, but ran into one snag... We have been using a split form... and it won't let me filter that column (Column ComboWho). I think because it is saving everything as numbers instead of text.

Populate Text Boxes From A Query Result

I hope someone can help me here..

I have a form with ID, town and address on it.
I want to beable to type in an ID, press enter then if the ID exists in a query then populate the town and address text boxes with the correct info..

If the ID doesn't exist, then open another form so the user can choose the site from the list..

At the moment I think I am going about it the wrong way :

General :: Auto Populated Text Boxes To Display Rows From Combo Boxes

I have strange issue when creating auto populated text boxes which displays rows from combo boxes.

In one database auto populates works with simple text box Control Source edit "=[ComboName].[Column](NumberOfColumn)".

Somehow same method doesn't wotk in different database: here one time I have to insert VBA code at On change Event:

Me.TextBoxName = Me.ComboName.Column(NumberOfColumn)

And other time it wont work with On change but only with After Update Event (code is same).

Another thing this morning happens was that when I tried to add new record trough form where combo box and tex boxes are located, MS Office suddenly stopped working after selecting combo box selection (with message Microsoft Office has Stopped Working). It is 2013 version.

I got it work after deleting and re-inserting VBA code to autopopulate text box at After Update Event.

I have query that creates table with 2 records each with 2 columns (2x2) and they do not have indexed ID,and query is related to combo box in other form so results are not always same but it is always (2x2) and value types are always same,

So how to show those results in text box in form,lets say 4 text boxes ,every value in one text box, i assume that i need to use DLookup() but i was able only to show first record,did not know what criteria put to go to second record.

When i select that query and create report i get what i want but i cant copy those text boxes to form that i want.

there is a way to convert multiple text boxes to combo boxes all at once, rather than right clicking on them one at a time, and selecting Change to.

I have a form with about 50 fields and most of them need to be converted to combo boxes. I'd always done it manually one at a time up to this point, but I'm trying to build up my learning and look for smarter ways to do things.

How do I set up a field so that when the record has been modified, the field is automatically filled in (or replaced) with a date? In other words if I open up my member's detail form, and go to Sally Smith and edit her information on 11 July 15, that date is saved into a field called last modified and then updated every time I go into her file and edit & save it.
