I have a form of data base which is being shared by 3-4 persons. The problem being observed is, in Laptop it shows the complete form on screen but in PC of 14" monitor, we have to adjust the seek bar to view the form up/down.
Can there be any solution to automatically fit the form size to monitor size?
I have built a few Access DBs and am looking to improve my development skills and attemt to migrate my Access DB to SQL Azure. I find access to be a very powerful development environment to build rapid applications . How to use multiple monitors so that I can display different forms on each monitor from a single Access DB.
When the user click the button, then it will give out a popup form to the screen, but I want to make the popup form's height as same as the screen/window/monitor's height, because the popup form's height is larger than the screen's height, and every user's monitor's height is different. So, I have to make it flexiable change of the height of the popup form. How can I check the screen/window height by VBA function? In Excel, it has Application.Height to check. In MS Access Form, I cannot find one for doing that.
I'm looking to take a screen dump of the current Access window, and save it to disk, as part of the error handling for my application. Does anybody have any suggested starting points? I've been Googling around for a while, but haven't really turned up anything concrete.
This (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=240653) was as close as I really got (sending the print screen keystroke), however I still need a way to save this data to the disk.
Is there anyway to bring up the on screen keypad or on screen keyboard from Access when running Windows 8 on the desktop? It would really be useful if someone was on a tablet wanting to input data in a text box if could automatically invoke the onscreen keyboard. By default when running applications on the desktop in Windows 8, one has to manually bring it up. I would like to include a touch option so every time wanted to enter data, they would not have to manually touch display keyboard option. A number pad like in excel for iPad would be even better. If text field would bring up keyboard, if number field, it would bring up number pad.
For example if I open up the Access database on my left monitor, then move it to my right - whenever I switch from design to form mode the form disappears. Moving Access back over to the left monitor will not show the form. Minimizing all windows except Access won't show it either. If I switch to layout view, then form view it will show on the monitor I have Access up on - but if I go back to Design and then form it will disappear again.
If I move Access to the left monitor (in this example). open the form in design and then form view it pops up visible. Seems clear that it ties the opening position of the popup to the monitor Access was opened on.
How do I achieve a full screen switchboard display so that the only way to access the (table, query, form...) is by holding the shift button while clicking on the file icon. Thanks!
I want to display the message "Processing Record ? of ???..." on the screen while my vba code is running without interruption. Since the msgbox requires the user to click a button to continue, what is the simplest way to display this message on the screen without interrupting the program or requiring user interaction?
We have a button running a SQL query via VBA, how can I make it so the results doesn't show up in a table/preview?Also, I know it's for the SQL forum but how can I make a text box to show the results of a query to display it on screen?
I've created a query called "JobHistoryQuery" and a form called "JobHistoryMultiForm", this displays all Jobs related to an Asset and all the information about that job. There are some fields (BilledMonth, BilledYear, BilledValue, Parts Required, PartsUsed), however, that I would only like to see if I need to see them (as there is quite a lot of information on the form and ideally, I'd like to be able to see the key information from each job from that asset with ease). What I would like is to create a button that says "Billing" and "Parts" for each job and it brings up a pop up window displaying that information.
Two questions: 1.I have disabled all menus and assigned a custom form to load when the database is launched. The form launches with the Main Access window in the background. Is it possible to have this main window invisible; either minimised or absent?
2.I have created a linked outlook contacts table in my database. I have a feature in one of my forms which searches for contacts based on certain selections. When a contact is found, it needs to be displayed. I will like to use the existing Outlook contact detail forms to pop up. I can make a custom form to display this info, but it seems a waste of time to code what outlook already has. Can someone give any ideas? or, direct me to some reference material? thanks!
I have created a report with a subreport for my database. The user selects the project for which he/she wants to see a report. Once the project is selected, the report is displayed in a popup window and maximized in the print preview layout. This allows the user to view and read the report. Once this is done, there are no buttons or menus on the screen that allows the user to send the report to a printer or file.
Other than the report, there are minimize / maximize and close buttons at the top right of the window and page selection buttons at the bottom left of the window. If the user wants to print the report, they must either hit ctrl-P or right click the mouse on the screen to display a menu from which the user can select print to open a print dialog box. Is there any way to add a button or menu to the print preview that appears on the screen to make printing easier?
I have been tasked with creating a database to log employee suggestions and then automatically present reports around the site. I have developed the database and it works OK and can output *.PDF reports, but I'm having problems with how to display these reports. My idea was to output the reports automatically as *.TIFF or *.JPG files and have them stored in a folder that the My Pictures screensaver uses. The reports (in fact, any site report stored in this folder) can then be shown on any screen dotted around the site when it goes into screensaver mode. However I can't find any way to output/convert to a picture file.
The other option is to create a webpage that rotates through the saved PDFs, but this isn't ideal as the PC users will have to load the webpage to display the reports.
I just bought a new computer. It came with a GIGANTIC (for me) 19 inch monitor.
Here's the question. What resoution should I set the screen to? I make databases for others. If my forms are too big for their monitors they have to use the scroll bars all the time. If my forms are too small it doesn't look professional.
I have tried to make a login screen, I have also searched for information and tried some of the examples but, I just can't get one to work. Is there someone or somewhere where I can get information on how to build one step by step in simple easy instructions....(access 2003).
Also, how do you get access to open all the windows, tables, queries etc in full screen mode. I have expaneded them and shut it down and then reopened it but they still want to open out of full screen mode.
Thanks, everyone has been a great help in creating my first Access program.
Am fairly certain that I will be asked to design and implement a Machine Status Application.
Description below is very simplistic but believe you will get the idea
Basically simple stuff at Machine Operator. He clicks a command button on a display that signifies machine is okay or not. This updates machine status. Image it just toggles between Running and Stopped.
Each minute little process runs to at 1 to Run value or to Stop value. Okay so this will get a little more complex for sure.
Now I could end up collecting data on say 100 machines. Okay so I would not expect the status change to occur any more than once per hour on average so it would be a bit like having 100 very very slow users on the system. Now the crunch. What effect (if any) would these 100 very very slow users have on performance and particularly the One much quicker user who is executing preset queries one after another for say 20 seconds every minute.
I am trying to create an access db to monitor my expenses for my new Snack house.
I have created a "Main" table which will be holding all the daily expenses entries one the fields is called "Type" in which i formatted as combo box with the following values (vegetables , butchery , bakery).
Another field is called "Item" which should list the items based on the Type selection.
Knowing i have a second table in which i stored all types and their corresponding items , how can i force the filed "item" in table Main to simply display the ones i need based on the "Type" input.
I have a parent window which upon clicking on a button will pop-up a child window containing a listbox. The listbox recordsource is a subset of the parent window. I want the user to select a record from the listbox which will load the selected record onto the parent window.
How does one pass argument back from child window to parent window?
From parent window to child window, I used docmd.openform ,,,,,,[argument] and me.openargs in the child window
I have a form that has a bar down the left side of my form that is right next to the navaigation bar. It has a arrow pointing toward the form. If I click on it nothing happens. Don't know what it is and would like to get rid of it if possible.
I am looking for a method to shift a small pop-up window around on the screen. I want to avoid the overlap with the help function, which is an external program. I already tried this code in the form:
Me.Left = Screen.Width / 2.5
But a form does not seem to have the property .Left or .Top. Does anyone have the solution? Hans van Vliet
Hi, i have my form open in design view and it includes quite a few fields on a tab. But when i go to open it in form view, the form is just grey and nothing appears on it. Never seen this before, can anybody help?
I have a form that is too big to view on one screen without scrolling down, is it possible to shrink it so that I can view it all, similar to the facility in Exel? I have tried the Scale & Resize MDE solution that is suggested in the threads but this only resizes your original to fit other screen resolutions - neat idea but it is not what I want as it still shows the original form nut pro-rata to the screen size.
I am not distributing the app so anything I do local to my machine to get it to work is fine.
Could somebody please tell me how to set the size that my form will appear when loaded, because it's really annoying me trying to get them to appear at the size I want.
I have a macro which runs from a form. The macro just opens up a subform. The problem is that the subform gets opened up in a new window. I have changed the property to modal, but this then still opens up the subform in a dialogue box.
Basically I want to be able to view both the form (top half of the screen) and the subform (bottom half of the screen) on the same screen.
