Is there a way to totally remove the navigation button bar? Even though setting form navigation buttons to "No" removes the buttons, the "bar that held the buttons" remains in it's default gray colour. I'm trying to make a subform blend in with the main form but this is posing to be a problem because of the old remains of the navigation "bar" (See attached image to see what I mean).
I am not able to disable NavigationButton when i login navigation form using login form. I am using MS access 2007 - 2010.i am using below code but getting error.
How can I put search button on the navigation form to search all form in my database? I have eight form I would like to be able to search to be able to pull all information for one student worker.
Basically I want to put a code in the "on load" event of a form that enables or disables navigation buttons based on a value in a table (the table has 1 record and 1 column).
So if the value is "A", I want to hide navigation buttons on load; if it is "B", I want to show navigation buttons on load.
I know I can set this property in each form, but I have a number of forms that I want to configure at the same time.
My problem is that I don't know how to reference the value in the table.
I'd like to change the colour of the text in a command button when the user click the button, but for the text to return to it's original colour when the botton pops back up.
I'm assuming you use the following commands:
Private Sub cmdClose_MouseDown(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single) *******CODE******** End Sub
Private Sub cmdClose_MouseUp(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single) *******CODE******** End Sub
But I'm not sure as to how I would enter the correct code.
I have access table that stores details as attached. Just to give an example how data is stored , I copied data from Access table to excelsheet. Now I would like to create a report that will run when a button is clicked on the form and the vba code should display the last 7 dates from todays dates in the report along with all the data and colour the record Green,Amber and Red depending upon the Update Date and Target Date. If the Target date exceeds then that records should be coloured "Red" and if todays date equals to Date then the record should be amber and if greater than Date but less than Target Date then it should be Green.
So the report should display the last 7 dates records from todays date and the appropriate color of each record to let everyone know if its under target, meets target etc.
I've got a form including a subform in datasheet view. I get rid of the defaulted scroll bars and navigation icons provided in the subform.
Now, I added my own buttons in the footer section to manage records in my subform ; by checking the forum, I understood that the items put in the footer or in the header section won't appear if I use the datasheet view.
Is there a way to use my own navigation buttons instead of the default ones ??
I've made my own record navigation buttons on a form. they work fine, except when i get to the first record. if i click 'previous' then the 2105 error pops up "you can't go to specified record". the buttons were created through the wizard, and have error trapping in them. for some reason, it never actually goes to the error handler. the error message comes up, i press debug, and the 'DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acPrevious' is highlighted.
any ideas why the error trapping isn't working? here's the code:
Private Sub cmdPrevJob_Click() Dim x As Variant On Error GoTo Err_cmdPrevJob_Click DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acPrevious Exit_cmdPrevJob_Click: Exit Sub Err_cmdPrevJob_Click: If Err.Number = 2105 Then stop MsgBox Err.Description Resume Exit_cmdPrevJob_Click End Sub
I am using Access 2007 and am a former user of an old flat-file 32 bit program under Windows 3.x. I am fairly new to MS Access 2007. I run a filter or query, which will return X number of records. Then, I will search those X records by specific text, such as "assist" from the record navigation buttons. I search for "assist" and the text will be highlighted each time it is found in any text or memo field in the record. Hitting Enter takes me to the next occurrence and highlights the text. If "assist" occurs in 4 fields in a record, for instance, it will be highlighted in each of those 4 fields one by one as I hit Enter. The next Enter takes me to the next record and will then continue to the next occurrence of assist" in any of its fields. It will continue to highlight "assist" in those fields, in succession, until the last occurrence in all of those records is found, in which case Enter does not return "assist" anymore because the last occurrence has already been found.
This does not always work. Often, I get every occurrence of "assist," but in the current record only, even though the word exists in other remaining records that were returned with my original filters/query.
A message "Microsoft Office Access has stopped working" appears everytime I input something in the Subform [Search] box beside navigation button. After that, the database closes. Attached is the screenshot of my subform.
I have made a contact form where particular member credentials are coming in text boxes, i have kept a combo box also on the top to view by the phone number, if the phone number is entered the credential of the member comes, and also the navigation buttons that is first, previous, next and last.
The main problem if i select phone number by combo box on the top, the navigation button do not continue from that part, even if i press next or previous it shows no records found.
I am working on Data entry form where a user can enter the details in the form and save and go ahead, its a single form in default view. I want to provide an edit button with navigation control in this form only where they can edit their wrong record for update.
Is it possible to define the position of a navigation button. For example, I want my first navigation button not starting totally on the left but a bit indented. Possible?
Secondly, suppose I have combo boxes on my first navigation button and for each combo box and choose a value, next I move to the second navigation and then back to the first navigation button. Then it always seems that the values of my combo boxed are reset to default value. Can this be avoided?
The above code works and my issue is how can I move the mouse to the OK button and click on it to. The reason why is when I SETTEXT to the address bar it does not refresh so I SETTEXT to the file name box to navigate to the prescribe address which will refresh the navigation bar once the OK button is clicked. How to refreshing the navigation bar.
I've been working on a database for quite a while now, and i've now given it out for testing, and i've come across a little problem. One of the users is colour blind, and the colour theme i've used throughout this database is causing him problems.
I have a function that can single him out when he logs in, question is, is there a way i can change the font colour for the whole database in one go through code??
I have around 12 forms with many controls and labels, i'm kind of hoping i don't have to name each control and label separately to change the font colour.
Please tell me that there’s some clever piece of code that can change the font colour on a form in one hit…..
I have a couple of identical databases in Access 97, they have lots of forms. My users use the two different versions of this database, but linked to different sets of data depending on what they are doing.
I distinguish between the two versions by making the background colour of the log on and Switchboard forms different. It would be nice if I could cause the background colour of the other forms to match the Switchboard without having to go through and change each form individually.
Can someone please give me a clue as to how this can be done?
I know using Me.Detail.BackColor = RGB(100, 100, 255) would work, but I can't see how to a) get the RGB values from the Switchboard.
I have a form with two textboxes that get their values from two different queries that counts records from table. If textbox1.value equals texbox2.value the textbox2.value back ground colour is green. If they are not equal textbox2.value goes red. Itried with using conditional formatting, but it doesn't work all the time as the form is not updating when it is opened.
I'm working on the Navigation Form template in Access 2010, which is new to me. It appears that one needs to use the BrowseTo command to open up a form in the built-in subform module. I'm trying to create a couple of buttons where each button opens a form in a different data mode; one in read-only and one in add mode. Here is the syntax I used for read-only:
frmSales is the Sales form I want both of the buttons to open and frmNavigation is the Navigation form. It seems to be ignoring the data mode part at the end however. It only will open in Edit mode. Is there something I'm doing wrong with this command?
I would like to know if it's possible to open an specific subform inside a navigation form using an event.
I also need to to this using macros ( really can't use vba in this project =/)
Form example:
the main form has "nav_opt1", "nav_opt2", "nav_opt3"
By double clicking a record in "nav_opt1", it will open "nav_opt2" with some filters (but all in the same window), as if I was just browsing through the navigation forms usually.
I have created a master form, which is a tab style. I have five additional forms that I want to use as sub-forms within each tab. I also want to include master navigation buttons that will work for each sub-form in unison. In other words if I navigate to record 10 on tab 1 and switch to tab 2, I want the new tab to show the information related to record 10. It would appear that I need to link them together in some fashion.
