Formatting A Textbox From A Combo Box

I have a form that has a Combobox containing a '+' and a '-' field.
Next to the combo box I have a text box that when input will contain a dollar amount.
The Form is used as part of my job and there are many operators that will use it. The operators are not the end users of the form therefore it is necessary for the end user to see both the combo box and the textbox; I cannot just use a textbox.
Is it possible to put a code somewhere that when the '-' is selected by an operative, the amount that is entered into the Text box will turn to red thus indicating a negative amount.
I have tried Conditional Formatting but I am not too familiar with its workings.
Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you.

I want to setup conditional formatting that will turn the box green or red. The problem is that the values need to change depending on a combo drop box value. Is there an expression I can use to tell it to look at the combo box then use a certain value depending on the combo box?

I have combo boxes that contain attorney names and phone numbers. The attorney name is what is filled into the field when a selection is made from the combo box into the form. The phone number is just there for the occasions that the person managing the data in the database needs to call that attorney. Just a quicker way instead of having to go to another form to find the phone number. I created a query to combine the first and last name to one field (FullName) and this is where the combo box gets it's info.
When I run the query, the phone number is shown formatted as I want it to ((###)###-####), but in the combo box in the form, the phone number has no format to it. What I need to do to get the phone number to show up formatted in the combo box list?

I want to add a conditional formatting to a combo box to highlight if the value is not on the list.There is a process to read in data from a 3rd party excel sheet that has truck arrival dates and times. My form displays this data and allows the internal users to change it. My form has the "Trucks" field as a limit to list combo box - so basically any data can be read into this field but internal we can only change it to trucks on the list (from the trucks table). I want to highlight where the trucks value is not in our trucks list.

This is what I have. What I need is to populate in my form PartNo with the PartNo from tblfbompart and have it populate PartDesc from tblbompart and have it place the information into tblMadeToStockParts PartNo, & PartDesc. Also choose Model from tblModel using a combo box and placing ModelID in tblMadeToStockParts.

I'm really hoping someone can help me, as I'm about ready to tear my hair out at the moment!!!
After a few problems, I've managed to set up a subform with three cascading combo boxes (i.e. "Family", "Order", "Common species name"). However I want a fourth field (a textbox: "Latin species name") to update automatically when the value of common species name is selected, so that the appropriate Latin name appears in the textbox at the same time.
Subsequently, in the afterupdate event of the "Common species name" combo box, I put the code:
Me.Latin_Name = Me.Common_Name.Column(2)
(Where Common_Name.Column(2) is obviously the field containing the value for Latin species name.)
Which seemed to work fine.... for the first record at least!
The problem comes when I try to add a new record to the subform - and instead of resetting, the "Latin species name" value entered in the first record also carries over to all subsequent records.... and changing the value in any later record simply also changes it in the first (and all other) records.
Can anyone work out what I'm doing wrong here? Any help will be much appreciated!

I am trying to populate a textbox based on selection from combo box. Both fields are in two different subforms within the same form.
I do see the selection from the combo box fills via debug. I don't see a value in the textbox.
This is the code I am using:

Dear All:
I have created a form to hold students names, ID numbers, dates, etc. On this form I have a combobox that lists various school names only. From this combobox, I wish to select a school, then the address on the school selected appears in textbox/memo field.

I have a form designed to update content on a website. I'm trying to work out how to populate fields with entries from past dates.
I have set up two combo boxes for each 'spot' on the site, one for date: Feature_1_Date and one for which content spot the content was occupying Feature_1_Spot.
The idea being that these boxes would read the row from my table to find the date, and the column to find which spot the content did occupy to copy the same content into a field Feature_1_Content
From what I can gather I need to use DLOOKUP (I'm very familiar with VLOOKUP on excel) but I'm doing something very wrong as can't get it to show any content.

I've designed a data entry form based on a table. I use a few combo boxes, (linked via SQL statements for their row/source) to fill most of the fields in the table.
What I want to do is populate one textbox on the form with the contents of a field in one of the combo box's row/source tables. The field I want isn't shown in the combo box.
Basically, what I want is that when I choose a PART NUMBER from a combo box, I want the OEM_ID from the same table to jump into the textbox below it.
I think I may have tied myself in knots though to the point where what I want can't be done. Any ideas? I know this is probably going to take a couple of goes at explaining. :P

Is it possible in access 2010 to create a a query that only shows a text box if a combo box criteria is met?
Example: On a form there is a combobox (Result) that can either be negative or positive. If the value is Negative then a query is already setup that populates a mailmerge with some text. If Results=Positive can a query be created that will show the textbox (Data). It only needs to show if the positive criteria is met.

I'm a novice when it comes to Access 2010, and I'm having trouble with DLookup syntax, and am going nuts. I have tblLookup, tblFees and Costs, and frmFees and Costs. All data entry is done in frmFees and Costs.
The tblLookup lists plaintiffs and the matter related to them. In the form, I made a combo box [Combo13] for plaintiffs and a text box for Matter [Matter], but whenever I enter the plaintiff, I get an error.
The error is:
Run-time error '3075':
Syntax error (comma) in query expression '[PlaintiffName]=The Plaintiff I Typed in'
The code I'm trying to use:
Private Sub Combo13_AfterUpdate()
Me.Matter = DLookup ("[Matter]", "tblLookup", "[PlaintiffName] =" & Me.Combo13)
End Sub
[PlaintiffName] is the column name in the tblLookup.
I looked around the forums but couldn't find anything that matched my setup.

I have a form frmCrisisSupportWorkers with a tab control on the form. On the first tab, Personal Info there is a combo box called cboLocation. It is next to the Town/City.
I have a text box that updates the postcode after the selection is made below it but that is as the post codes are stored in the combo box and I just put the column for the postcode in the control source of the text box.
I can't do that for state as I have it stored in another table and use a numeric identifier to show which state is selected.
I want to have a text box below that auto updates the state once a town is selected but I can't seem to get it working.

I have a "Status" combobox, I'd like the "Date Case Closed" field to auto fill today's date when "Status" combobox = Closed. The way I know how to do this is by using an IIf with Date() function, but, if I do that, the date is gonna keep changing everyday. Do I have options to do this?

I am populating a table using combo boxes in a continuous form. The box box alone works fine without any issue of repeated data. But as you know obviously the combo box only populates data in a single column of the table, in which case mine is the LASTNAME; so now I am attempting to populate a unbound textbox with the FIRSTNAME side-by-side with the combo box for the same record.
In the After Update event of the cboLASTNAME:
Code:
Me.txtFIRSTNAME = Me.cboLASTNAME.Column(3)
However, after updating the the combo the textbox data is repeated.
Is there a possible solution to this?

I am new to access and have been staring at the same Run-time error for 3 days (pathetic I know). I cannot for the life of me figure out why it does not like my Dlookup. Esentially, I want and After Update event in my combo box to populate a Rich text textbox in my form. After reading DLookup is the easiest way to make this happen. Here is my code:
Me.emailbody.Value = DLookup("[Escalation_1]", "Status_Emails", "Status_Emails.Status =" & (cboStatus.Value))
My error reads: "Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'Status_Emails.Status = LOCATION NEED MORE INFO'.
LOCATION NEED MORE INFO is the value in my criteria cbostatus.value.

Is it possible to insert text from a textbox on a form (Data) when a combobox on (Data) meets a criteria?
Example: Test: IIf([Results]="Positive" text207)
So if the Results combobox is Positive then the text from Text207 is inserted.

I'm working on a project that uses a barcode scanner. The user will scan a barcode which will choose an item from a combo box. The result of what it enters will populate a text box. I have that part working fine.
The next step is to get it to open a form based on the value in the textbox. The textbox will have about 7 different possible values and each one should open a different form.
The way this is supposed to work:
User approaches a machine and scans the barcode. He is presented with a form giving him options based on the type of equipment the machine is. A compressor for example would present him with a set of options for compressors (gauge readings, maintanence, etc).
I have an unbound form with two controls:
cboAssetNumber
txtType
How to code this and which events to code it in. Users will be going from machine to machine and using the form over and over again so I need to somehow manage the clearing of the form to begin again with another barcode scan.
I saw another thread about a barcode scanner and one response was to program the scanner to send the barcode and then send an "Enter" press to move focus to the next control. I've looked through the documentation and haven't been able to find if that is possible. Right now it sends the number and that's it. It's a "Motion" Tablet.

Need to confirm whether the Default formatting option in the Conditional formatting Dialog won't work in datasheet view of a form. Please note that all conditional criteria are working fine but not the Default Formatting option - only in the Datasheet view (In Single Form view the default formatting is working fine)

Hi: There are two textboxs in my main form. One is bound and another is unbound. There is no entry in the unbound textbox as values come into automatically after entering some information in the subform. My question is how to i pass values from unbound textbox to bound textbox every time when the value change in unbound textbox i need to change the value in the bound textbox. When the form load there is already value in the bound textbox which i want to override based on the values from the unbound textbox.

I have a date textbox (Week_Ending) and number textbox (Staff_ID) in a form (frmHourEnter), when both have values I open another form (frmStaffReport) with textboxes (txtDateStart and cmbStaff).
How do I open the second form with the values of the first form pre-entered?
