Forms :: Booking Table - Setting Value In DatePicker

I have two textboxes in my form bounded respectively to check-in and check-out dates of my Hotel_Bookings table
When a user enters the check-in date, I'd like the date-picker of the check-out date to display the same month of the check-in date instead of the current month.
I know that the built-in date picker cannot be manipulated. I cannot work on check-out default value because it will not be updated on the current record.
The only way that I've found until now is to set the check out value to check in + [some days] but I do not like it because it could generate data entry mistakes
How can I solve? If there is no way to get the job done with the built-in date picker, what kind of ActiveX control could I use instead? And where to find it?

I cant figure this out...
i have a query that reports sales by week.. now on the date field in the query i have the following
<=[forms]![frmReportParameters]![DTPicker1] And >=DateAdd("d",-7,[forms]![frmReportParameters]![DTPicker1])
whick picks the date off a calendar on a form. Now this works 70% of the times. The issue is that "-7" because if i dont have sales every day of the week then it reports from the wrong week.
example;
if the week ends on friday and i run the report if i had sales every day that it reports sat-fri But if i had a day with no sales it will go one day further back so it reports fri-fri... the first friday belonging to the previous week??
anyone can tell me how to correct this?

Is there some kind of Time picker function , i can see the date picker however i am using a booking system and have a field named 'time of booking' and i need something that can dump the exact system/online time into the field.

I have Table for rooms called Rooms, and the data in the table is roomNumber which is in the format Letter and two Digit number, so A01 would be dorm building A and room building 1, and I then have a seperate row named roomType that is either VIP or Semi Private.
Now I am creating a form where a worker will put in there scheduledCheckin date and scheduledCheckout date and it will be written to the Bookings table. I would like this form however to take the dates they have put in, as well as room type (Semi-Private or VIP, and assign them an available room that isn't booked at all in that range) or list all available rooms for that range of time and they could then just select the room. I would rather it automatically assigns an available room based on room type though because this check in system is going to have about 500 rooms.
I've attached a link for what I have so far. I know how to make a query to list anyone who has booked rooms over that date, but need one for just preventing booking the same room.

I've got the forms and queries in one .accdb file and my tables in a separate .accdb file. The forms file links to the tables in the tables file. The tables file resides in a folder called simply enough C:acc_tables and thats where i browsed to (obviously) when i set up the linkage.
One of the users does not wish (for whatever goddamn reason) to create a C:acc_tables file to stick the tables file in , and wants the tables file in some other folder.. Unfortunately this user does not have the skills to delete the existing links and re-link to the tables file after putting it in the folder he wants.
Where in the file that holds the forms and and queries do i find the path setting to the tables linked file? Can it be changed without deleting links and then re-linking?

I feel really stupid for asking this, but I am so stressed at the moment, I can't concentrate!
I have a database that stores land locations and information relating to it. In the database, I need a form that asks 13 questions and answers are given in drop down boxes (about 3 answers to each question). Each of these answers relate to a score, which I want to be able to show automatically.
What I would like to know is how to set the table for it. This table has to use the ID from the land locations table (which is sorted by the way).
Please see the attachment for a simple design of what my 'boss' wants it to look like. The form for this table will be a subform on the main form for land locations.
Please can someone help me? I would really apreciate it :)

I have tblDefaults that has only one record, containing default values. Next I have tblWebpages that has a Memo field that holds my html data. Lastly I have a Form called frmCreate with a field called Webpage. This Form is based on a tblCreate table.
Whenever I click a command button on my Form, I want to populate the Webpage field on my frmCreate Form with a template from tblWebpages. The template to chose will be based upon the WhichTemplate field in tblDefaults.
In brief, tblDefaults tells me which is the current webpage template and so the field should be populated with that html data.

I have a form and subform which have the total value of subscriptions made for the month on them.
The subform has the individual values, and the mainform has the total value for that month.
how can i then assign the value of a feild on the mainform, to a value in one of my tables?
whats the best way to go about it?

Hi,
I have a contact list about 20 people strong. These contacts are related to a certain CostCenter. Each costcenter will have multiple contacts. I want a combo box on a form where I can select a contact from the combo box' list and send them an e-mail. I also want a list box on the form that shows each costcenter and the contacts related to it. I also need to be able to add or remove contacts and have the new info shown in both the list box and the combo box. I'm stuck with setting up my table structure. Anyone wanna give this a go?

I'm doing a little database for work and I'm having alot of problems figuring things out. This is my first attempt at anything access. I've been getting help with this so far.
What the database is for is keeping track of clients that come in and go on trial for hearing aids. Clients can have one hearing aid or one for each ear. Also for the trial they can have multiple hearing aids from different manufacturers. What we want to do is keep track of who has what and who there audiologist is, if they accept them at the end of the month then invoice cost etc. If they don't accept them then we return them back to the manufacturer as a return for credit, and would like to record there reason for not going with them.
I have my table normalized and now i'm starting to make the forms but i'm getting really confused on the process.
Right now in my thinking I think i need a form for client info, Invoice, Trial Info, Aids on Trial, and return for credit. Some of these I need fields from different tables but do not know how to do that. Maybe I should change my forms needed, I don't know.
Here is what I have so far. I just have the main page and the client info form. In the client info form I am using the notinlist event for the city field, but was wondering if there is a better way to have that set up, doing it this way is the user giong to have to enter a number into that field? How would they just enter in what city and province the client is from??
Basically my question is how to I set up forms for this database?

Hi, im struggling with my project. I'm not sure how to pursue this, but when i a customer to book a lesson, i want the booking to be not booked twice.
So i have to prevent the date of when the customer wants his/her lesson to be booked on the same day as the other person.

Please could someone give me help on this topic, I need to slove it for coursework in Access but im having the following problem.
Im creating a database for a hotel which rents out its room obviously. The problem i have is if a guest books a room for say march 3rd until march 6th, theres currently no way in which to stop another guest booking the room for any of these dates.
I think i know how to stop double booking for the start day, but not the days inbetween if you understand.
The database has 3 tables:
Guest Info
Room info
Bookings
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
P.S the method i hope to use, is the hotel will enter the start date of a guests stay and then enter the number of nights the guest is staying for e.g. 3rd-6th of march would be input as: Begin date: 03/03/08 for:'3' nights.

I have been asked to ceate a customer booking database for the computer stations and my mind has gone a complete blank. I have all my other tables but just can't think how to do it. I have 10 computers and they are booked hourly, Monday to Friday but each day finishes at a different time.
Can anyone please help I'm suppose to have it done by Monday. :eek:

Hi All,
I am in the process of creating a Room Bookings database using the limited graphical tools of Access 2003.
I intend to break up the day from 0700 to 1900 into 48 X 15 minute chunks (the minimum bookable time) and have these graphically represented on the form as boxes whose colour change depending on whether it is booked and who by.
It would be normal to have up to 8 colours available for this as any one room would be unlikely to be booked by more than 8 people in one day.
I would envisage that each day would be covered by a separate subform.
Has anyone else tried a graphical representation of a booking form?
It would be interesting to hear others views or experiences...

I have a database which uses a form to book appointments, new or existing customers are booked in this way, or not as this case may be.
I have designed the form with my three options to book someone in, that are a Date, a Time and the treatment.
My date is taken from tables containing the appropriate dates for any Monday, (No Tues) another table for Weds etc until Sat for the next 4 years
My Time is taken from one table containing appropriate times in the day.
My Treatment is taken from a table containing a list of treatments.
How can I book an appointment without duplicating dates and times?
How can I produce a list of these bookings either daily, or weekly to forward these details via Microsoft Outlook?
I hope I am not asking for too much as I have been trying to do this on my own now for a while and have searched the board.
I have got this far so I don't want give up now.

I am wanting to prevent a double booking. I have a form called:
frm_Booking which records an ArrivalDate and DepartureDate
and another form
frm_Building_Booking which records a BuildingID number
I want to ensure that a customer cannot book a BuildingID for an ArrivalDate and DepartureDate it it has already been booked by another cusotmer or book any on the days between.
However a customer should be able to book a BuildingID on the DepartureDate.

I want to add a column to an existing table using the sql statement Alter table. The new column needs to be a yes/no type. The following code almost works but it only sets the column to a general logical type not specifically the yes/no check box .

My boss wants me to create a budget report as follows:

I have a table with the following headings:
Date State Product Prod Code Customer Cust Code Category Jan Feb Mar etc
State has the domain Vic, NSW, Qld
Category has the domain Sales GP
Question 1:
To the field Category, should I either
A: add to the domain actual sales and actual profit? I can past these into the table at the end of each month.
OR
B: set up a separate table for the actual sales and actual profit for the month?
I think A.
Question 2:
Instead of having a separate column for each month, should I either:
A: just have a heading Month and put the figures in that column
OR
B: Have the sales figures in separate columns for each month?
I think A
Question 3:
When I have set up my table correctly, and assuming the answers to my questions above are all "A", I am now unsure how to create a query which will give me the data for the report my boss wants.
Can someone please give me some help?

I have a form with a number of text, date and combo boxes. We quite often add items that are very similar, so it would be useful if the values you've just entered were kept the same for the next item. Then you can just change the odd field that's different. Is there a way to achieve this?

I have two tables relating to People
PeopleType: ID and description (e.g. 1 student, 2 teacher, etc)
PeopleDetails: PeopleType.id, name, gender etc
I have a form that contains subforms
On the Main section of the form the data comes from the PeopleDetails. I want the user to fill in this but I want the PeopleType.id to be set to e.g. 2 so that you can only key in teacher details.
I have been trying to set it using a macro SetValue but i cannot get it to work.

Hello,
For work i need to create a computer booking form so that people can book out computer rooms 2 weeks in advance and the perminant bookings are always in there etc etc... most of it i have sorted but what i want is for a query that can run and go to todays date and then only bring up the results for the next 2 weeks.
Is there anyone that could help me out with doing this because im at bit of a loss and its doing my head in :confused:
Any other comments or suggestions are welcome too if there is a better way of doing this.
