I have all of my text fields disabled and I want the user to press a button to make them enabled. I have a field that links to the database called, "lastName".Under the button's clicked property, I have coded,

I'm trying to have a button in a form that, when clicked, will time stamp a text box already formatted for time. But once the text box is filled with a time, the button then disables itself for that record.
If I switch to another record where the text box is empty, the button will enable itself without closing the form, but obviously re-disable itself if I go to a record the text box is filled.
I'm sure I could use conditional formatting for it, but I don't think I'm going about it the right way. I already got a basic button built to timestamp.
I have a form "Handover" on this form I have a button that enables edit functionality once clicked, I now have a subform on this form named "Bdown".
The Bdown subform allows edits without having to click the "btn_Edit" on the main form "Handover".
Is is possible to make the edit button on "Handover" control the edit function on "Bdown" also?

Basically I want to put a code in the "on load" event of a form that enables or disables navigation buttons based on a value in a table (the table has 1 record and 1 column).
So if the value is "A", I want to hide navigation buttons on load; if it is "B", I want to show navigation buttons on load.
I know I can set this property in each form, but I have a number of forms that I want to configure at the same time.
My problem is that I don't know how to reference the value in the table.
I have 3 macro importing 3 files, and then another button to process those data.
So, I need a function to enable/disable the button depending on the files have been imported or not.
I have a form with a checkbox (Is a Work Permit required?)and a date field (Work Permit Expiration date). I want the date field to be dimmed when the form opens. I want the focus to go to the checkbox first. The checkbox asks whether a youth is required to have a Work Permit. if the user checks the box (the youth needs a Work Permit), then I want the date field to be undimmed and available to the user to put in the Work Permit Expiration date.
I've tried using the checkbox afterupdate property to enable/disable the Work Permit Expiration date field, but no luck. What am I doing wrong? How do I make this work?

I have a parent form containing a subform (Datasheet view). The parent form also has a button that I only want enabled when there are records showing in the subform.
Were the records contained in a listbox (as opposed to a subform) - I could simply check the recordcount property but short of running SQL to count the number of records in the underlying table - how can I do this?
Any ideas please?
hey I have a requirement to switch on or off the toggle filter button depening on who the current user is.
I can id the current user no problem - my issue is how do I swicth this button on and off??

Haven't used the 'ondirty' property before and am having trouble with it.
I have a main form (PersAction) with a subform (PersAction_PersData). After Insert button is click, subform appears ready for new data. click save works great. I wish to have an undo button on the main form become visible once data is entered into the subform. I've tried the following code in both the main form and subform 'Ondirty' property as an event and no luck:

I have a form. and it has three buttons. Such as Submit, Reject, Under Observation.
I want :
1) If i click SUBMIT button it will be disable and other two buttons REJECT and UNDER OBSERVATION will be enable
2) If i click REJECT button it will be disable and other two buttons SUBMIT and UNDER OBSERVATION will be enable
3) If i click UNDER OBSERVATION button it will be disable and other two buttons SUBMIT and REJECT will be enable
I have a button on a form that when I press it, I want it to validate a user's Windows Login ID in a text box on the current form against a table before allowing them access to a form.
If the Login ID in the text box does not match any value in the table I have defined, I wanted a MsgBox displayed saying invalid credentials. Of course if the ID exists in the table, I'd like it to open the next form.

I've got a text box that is disabled, and want it to become enabled when the user clicks the required check box.
I've got the following code, and can't see anything wrong with it, but for some reason it doesn't work. No error message appears, but the text box stays disabled regardless of whether I check the check box or not.

I'm fairly new to Access / VBA and have been trying relentlessly to get a text box / search button on my Access form to pull up a specific record. Although the null command produces the correct error msgBox, it does not show any record if I enter a correct primary key term.

I have this database which has a comments field which often gets the same text added into it depending on what is in it. what I am trying to do is something similar to signiatures in outlook express.
What the end user wants to do is select from a dropdown box what text they want to add to the field and hit a button and it will insert it into the memo (comments) field in the form without overwriting any of the text they have in there already, they might want to just add one of the sentences or several.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might go about this?

I have a field in a Table (tblMainFile) named "File Location" which contains a hyperlink for each of the files.I have a continuous form (from a query) which displays information from the tblMainFile table.the form shows a text box (with the hyperlink) which is clickable to take them to the link location.I would like to have a button which says (GET FILE) or a different text box which simply says "Get File" as opposed to the entire hyperlink.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a tabbed form from which the user can select a contact's record from a subform on the first tab, click a edit command button, and the unbound text boxes on the top of that tab populate. The user can then click the second tab with employment history which has blank unbound text boxes and another subform which is linked by the contact id to the first tab.
The user can select a record in the second tab, click a command button and the text boxes populate no problem. The problem comes when the user changes the contact on the first tab, and then tries to edit a record on the second tab. Then I get a run-time error '-2147352567 (80020009)' saying the value you entered isn't valid for this field. Why it would work the first time by not the second?
