Forms :: Calculating Months In Search Form?
Sep 25, 2014
I tried to create search Form in access and after trying for while I finally made it. I have drug down the "query" to the design view of "Form Search" and added up there. Now using "STD" and "TELENO" I can search for these 3 coloumns. My main table is "Example"
Now as you can see in my attached screen shot Column "Recieved Time- less than 3 month" I would like to do that in Access. I would like to create something that will autometically calculte(Substract) the date from "Order Date to Today's date and will give me a result= "Less than 3 months or Greater or less than 4 months etc". I mean it will always substract from "Order Date" to "Todays Date". I have tried with some macro as well but it did not show up "Todays date"
I tried several ways to do it, even tried to input another coloumn(Using formula) in "Query" table but failed to do so.

I have a table which lists rentals, all have start/end dates and a rental fee p.a.
I want to query this table to show rentals that are effective for any part of 2 dates, [Enter Start Date] and [Enter End Date]. The purpose of this query is to calculate rental income between these 2 selected dates.
Now I have this much working, but I want to group all the figures by month, in order to produce a graph to view the rental income by months.... this bit has me stuck....
How can I group all these records, when I only have 2 dates... for eg, start 01-01-06 and end 31-07-06...
I want to see figures for Jan06, Feb06, Mar06...July06etc... rather than just a single total figure for the entire period...
Any ideas?
Help! I'm completely stuck here and have spent hours searching the internet but haven't found anything suitable...

I'm trying to breakdown a date into years, months, and days. Simple right?
The code I've been using for months returns a negative month if it happens to be the next month. Instead of returning 1 Year, 1 Month, 23 Days, it will instead return 1 Year, -1 Month, 23 Days.
Code is:
Code:
Months: IIf(IsNull([TIR]),0,IIf(Day([TIR])<=Day(Date()),DateDiff("m",[TIR],Date())-[Years]*12,DateDiff("m",[TIR],Date())-[Years]*12-1))

Find the difference between two dates is simple if you're simply looking for the number of days between them. However, if you're looking to express the difference in a bit more user-friendly way, you can use the following code to calculate the difference in years, months, and days. The code accounts for zero values, plurals and the Oxford comma. Further, it automatically sets the later of the two dates to the End date, so the dates can be used interchangeably.
Examples:
June 4, 2010, July 3, 2012 returns "2 Years and 29 Days"
June 4, 2010, July 5, 2011 returns "1 Year, 1 Month and 1 Day"
June 4, 2010, June 5, 2010 returns "1 Day"
Code:
Function DiffOfTwoDates(dtmDate1 As Date, dtmDate2 As Date) As String
' Written by Will Knapp, Freelance Access Developer, 2013
Dim dtmStart As Date, dtmEnd As Date
Dim strDiff As String ' Resulting String
Dim yDiff As Integer ' Year Difference
Dim mDiff As Integer ' Month Difference
Dim dDiff As Integer ' Day Difference
Dim CommaLoc As Integer
[code]....

Not sure if this is actually done with a query (hell, im not sure if it can be done) as my Access knowledge is limited but I've got a list of Patient Appointment Dates and I need to calculate a list of 'Next Appointment' dates that are six months on from the appointment dates not including saturdays and sundays (as the health center is closed those days)
BTW this is for coursework, I don't really work for a health center :S
edit: I seem to have put this in the tables forum, not the queries forum. Apologies for that, I'm not an Idiot, Honest!

I currently have a form where users can enter an "End Date", click a button, and it queries the data from 12 months prior to "End Date" entered.
Is there a way to force the query to show all 12 months, even if there are no records for a particular month? For example: if the user enters February 2013 in the date field, I would like the query to return:
March 2012
April 2012
May 2012
June 2012
July 2012
August 2012
September 2012
October 2012
November 2012
December 2012
January 2013
February 2013
...so even if June 2012 has no records, it is included in the query with a value of zero.
This is what I have so far:
WHERE (((Qry_Tbl_Assets.Dte) Between DateAdd("m",-12,[Forms]![Main_screen]![End_Date]) And [Forms]![Main_screen]![End_Date]))

I have my main menu form that shows the current time and uses the OnTimerEvent for this. (Set to 1000) Issue is that when I open another form it keeps showing Calculating. It does not seem to affect performance but keeps the status bar from showing the control explanations.

I've built a PostgreSQL database for some ecology data and am trying to use MS Access 2010 to make a front-end for it.
I've created a form to display site data; it includes such fields as site ID, site name, county, state, landscape, etc. (There are more, but if I can get the idea down with a couple of these, I should be good to handle the rest). One can click through the form and see 14 pages of site details, which is fine because there are 14 sites.
What I want to do now is make a search form in which one can enter values for site ID, site name, county, etc, and somehow get the pages of the display form that match those values. It's not terribly important to me how that output looks - whether it's a list of matches that allows for clicking on a match and showing just one page of the display form, or whether it's a filtered subset of the display form pages that one still clicks through to view them all.
if there is code to write, where do I type it? Do I start my search form by making a form with the search fields as values, or is there some other way? How do I make those search fields into search boxes rather than display boxes?

I made a subform based of a query that I put in a main form. The subform contains a date field, where a full date is inserted (example 24.12.2015.). What I am doing is making a form where the subform would be filtered by a combobox by months. This may be wrong (correct me if it is), but for values in the combobox I placed number from 1 to 12 (as months). This combobox would then only show records from that month. I used a Change function in VBA on the combobox but I keep getting an error.
This is the VBA on the combobox where I change the record source of the subform. I probably made the WHERE part wrong but dont know how to fix it.
Combobox name is cboMonth.
Field where the full date is, is DateOut.
Subform is called subCustomer.
Code:
Private Sub cboMonth_Change()
Dim SQL As String
SQL = "SELECT qryCustomers.SID, qryCustomers.KID, qryCustomers.MMT, " _
& "qryCustomers.Owner, qryCustomers.User, qryCustomers.Policy, " _
& "qryCustomers.DateOut " _
& "FROM qryCustomers " _
& "WHERE Month([DateOut]) LIKE '*" & Me.cboMonth.Text & "*'"
Me.subCustomer.Form.RecordSource = SQL
Me.subCustomer.Form.Requery
End Sub

I have a form with two textboxes called: txtAptDep, txtAptArr.
On their right side there are two buttons (btn1, btn2) to open a form called frmAirportSearch. It allows to choose (from a listbox) the airport to be filled in those two textboxes.
Now, if I search for an airport pressing btn1, I want the airport to be returned into txtAptDep, while if I open the form by btn2, the airport choosen must be returned in the second textbox.

I have a series of subforms that show customer mix percentages by month. These forms will be used for data entry and to ease the process I would like to have months in order of our fiscal calendar, July through June. Right now the months are listed alphabetically. Is there a way I can list the months in order without having to resort to a naming convention such as:
01June
02August
03September
ect.
Thanks

I have a form that acts as a search form where the user inputs a string of text which then updates and filters a list box. For some reason when it does this it highlights the 2nd row on that list, even if there is no data there. How can I get it to automatically highlight the first row? The database is attached and the form in question is FRM_SearchMulti.

I have a form that shows details of a record. I have a command button to open associated records in another form in DS view. My code will open the DS and show all records or filtered to specific record.
What I would like to do is use code on command button to open DS view and simply highlight (find) the record that was being viewed in the first form.
Main Form = frmBroachBase
DS Form = frmBroachBaseDS
Associated fields on both forms are - [AutoID], [BroachID] - that can be used to link the two forms.

I am trying to create a search box in Access 2010 inside a form. I have managed to create a search using the 'Surname', but what I am unable to do is to factored in multiple records with the same surname.
Currently, the search field sits within the Form Header bar. I enter the surname or part of surname and click the command button which searches. Using MoveFirst and FindFirst, it jumps the form for the first record that matches (or partially matches).
However, there will be occasions where there will be more than one record that matches. What I want to do is to be able to jump to the first record, but if thats not the one I am looking, if you click search button again, it jumps to the next matching records etc... until I hit the I want?
I have tried the MoveNext, Previous, Last commands, but they dont work. Any quick fire coding out there?

I'm using this search form.I have never had issues with it until today. When I type the letter "i" as the first letter in the 'Search For' box, I get the following error:"Microsoft Office Access can't move the focus to the control SearchResults"..Also, when I type "i", it shows up in the box as "I" and is the only letter that does this.
