View RepliesHi,
Does anyone know how I can set up the following?
I have a form with a list box in it which is populated by the data from a query.
What I would like is that when a user clicks on one line of data so that the line goes black and the text goes white, I would like the code that when double clicked, will take you to a form with the record displaying the same data as the one that was in the list box.
E.g. The list box would be a work queue of outstanding post items to action and when a record is double clicked on, it takes you to another form but shows all of the data for that record as opposed to just the data in the list box query result.
Many thanks
I am trying to create a proposal log for my company to make things easier to track. I have made a multiple items form to list the proposals. I want to be able to double click the record to open up another form (that i have already created) that shows the information from the proposal table and the proposal details table. So.....
I want to double click the field named "Proposal Name" and have it open up to form i have called "proposals details form".
I have a subform 2SiteList (Datasheet View) with the field SiteName... i also have another form SiteDetails.
if possible i would like to be able to double click on a SiteName on the subform and have the SiteDetails form to open to show the full details.
I have a form "IntUnderwriterSearchByName" which is based on the query "Search by Name". This form opens with a parameter (please enter name of broker) and is set out like a datasheet with the following fields- "Broker Name", "Domicile", "Broker Code" and a couple of others. I'd like to be able to click on a record and open the form "IntUnderwriterPopUp" so that the details of that specified record are displayed.
Broker Code is what I'd like the form to look for and this Broker Code is unique for every one of the 900 or so records. This code can be numerical e.g. 01233 but also can be a mixture of both e.g. EU2885. It is also worth noting that this code is not the primary key- i have an autonumber (called ID) that does this- but this field does not appear on the form.
I have 3 peices of data that I am working with: Group number, plans and benefit elections. On my form I have fields for the group number and plan and 2 queries. When I enter a group number the first query displays a list of plan descriptions for that group. From there I can enter the plan description into the form's plan field and that runs the second query to give me a list of valid elections for that plan. This all works fine but I want to make the plan selection a little less tedious. What I would like is to be able to double click the query field housing the plan description and have it copied to the form's plan field. I could use the ID instead of the plan description but I work in a production environment and very key stroke counts so I would really like to have a simple double click process.
Is this even possible? If so how would I set that up? I tried using the double click on event macro builder but it does not seem to have this kind of option.
My form contains fields for group number and Plan. The same form houses 2 querys, one that pulls plans based on the group number and the other to pull elections based on the plan field (not the plan query). Would like to double click a plan within the plan query and have that description populated into the form's plan field.
Hi all, I have a query to recall all the events related to a certain employee by running a query and inserting the staff number, I then have a form showing the details of all employees; what I need is to add a button on the form that runs the mentioned query without having to insert the staff number again as the form is already showing that employee.
Thanks
Marco
i have a subform which displays data depending on the criteria selected on the main form. I want to be able to double-click on the row in the datasheet view to pop up a form and display the selected row contents. is it possible? if so then what event do i have to code it in?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to access and all of this and trying to create a database to record livestock (budgerigars) I have put in the reletive informnation for 2 generations but would like to beable to click on a record in forms view and for the grandparents to be automatically inserted. Something like a family tree.
Also I would like to be able to double click on a entry which shows as a parent in a form view, and for the database to go directly to that entry and bring it up onto the form.
I hope someone can help and that I'm making so sense

I have a few search forms that, when search parameters are entered, a continuous subform displays the results (summarised...not all fields show).
I want to be able to double click a field in any given record, and have it open in a form allowing editing of the record.
I know I need something in the OnDoubleClick event of the text box I want to double click, which would then open the form, but I don't know what code to use.
For the sake of argument, I want to double click on the txtSerialNumber text box to do it, as this is a unique field.
Thanks.
I all I have looked in the forum but can't find anything that matches I have a form containing a subform called eventswich shows some events in date order, as I have too many information on the table events I could not put them all in the subform if not only the essential information, what I need is if I double click on the field "DATE" it would open the "EVENT" form and show me all the information contained in the record.At the present time I have the filed SELECT RECORD set to NO on the form properties!
Hope I have given a good explanation!!!!
Thanks

Hello..
I have the following code that I have been trying to get to work:
Private Sub txtSocNumber_DblClick(Cancel As Integer)
On Error GoTo Err_txtSocNumber_DblClick
Dim stDocName As String
Dim stLinkCriteria As String
stDocName = "FrmApplicantFullDetails"
If IsNull(Me.txtSocNumber) Or Me.txtSocNumber = "" Then
MsgBox "This record is empty", vbInformation, "No Data"
Me.txtSocNumber.SetFocus
Else
stLinkCriteria = "[ApplicantID]=" & Me![InvestigatorID]
DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , stLinkCriteria
End If
Exit_txtSocNumber_DblClick:
Exit Sub
Err_txtSocNumber_DblClick:
MsgBox Err.Description
Resume Exit_txtSocNumber_DblClick
End Sub
I have the following two tables:
Applicant and Investigator
Applicant:
ApplicantID
InvestigatorID
etc
Investigator:
InvestigatorID
etc
The relationship is setup as 1 investigator to many applicants.
What I am trying do is this. I have form with a subform in it. In the subform there is applicant info IE SS# LName, FName and that is it. What I want to do is be able to double click on the SS# have the form "FrmApplicantFullDetails" open so you can view the work up on the applicant or edit info on the applicant.
Am I going about this the right way with the above code? Or is there something else I am missing in the code or is there code out that will do what I am looking for that is easier?
Thanks

I have a text box on my form which I use to attach hyperlinks to pdf's, this works great but after inserting a hyperlink nothing is displayed in the text box to show it has been linked unlike using attachment, the only way I know if that a hyperlink is placed is to right click and go to hyperlink and then open, is there a way to show the link on the text box and just double click on it to open the pdf. I am trying this as the size of the database will far exceed the 2gb that access allows if I just use attachments , even if I split the database (over 10000 pdfs )
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn a form I have a listbox that allows me to navigate around my records. The listbox is filtered and I get the redords that I waqnt from the table.My problem is that when I open the form the record that is showing is one from the table but not one that is in my listbox. I want it to show the first record in the listbox...This is the command I have on open:
Code:
DoCmd.GoToRecord , "", acFirst
which is where the fault lies, but I dont know what I should put in its place. The list is List273 and the form is frm_Profile
I want to Double-Click on a row of a subform to open a related table/form that are connected with a common ID. So far, I tried the following code, but it does not work.
Private Sub PackingSlipT_subform_DblClick(Cancel As Integer)
Dim stDocName As String
Dim stLinkCriteria As String
stDocName = "ProductT"
stLinkCriteria = "[PackingSlip_ID]=" & Me.PackingSlipT_subform.Column(1)
DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , stLinkCriteria
End Sub
I have several comboboxes in my database from which users select values. However, in most cases, I do want to give them the option to add an item that does not appear while simultaneously updating the underlying table which stores those dropdown values. I have made use of the builtin "allow edit list items" feature of Access 2007 but the form always opens on the first record of the form on which they are to add the new item. Is there a way to specify that it should open in Data Entry view apart from using VBA?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am creating an events database. In my main form, I have all the details of a single event (billing code, fees, customer, support personnel, etc.). Then, I have a subform (form view) that lists each of the other services which share an event ID (this ID comes from a separate, unrelated events management suite). In the subform, I display the most-commonly-edited fields so that they are editable without navigating to a different record.
However, there will be instances where it becomes necessary to navigate to one of the records listed in the subform. I would like to make this a quick process by just clicking on the primary key in the subform, and have the corresponding record appear in the main form.
In my searches I've found a common suggestion to use a DoCmd.OpenForm method where the form opens to that specific record -- in effect filtering by the primary key number. I don't prefer this method because it disables the ability to navigate to other records using the previous, next, find records, (etc.) buttons without closing and re-opening the form.
Is there a way to make the main form 'jump' to a specific record by clicking on a control in the subform, without limiting the ability to navigate in the main form?
I am trying to get a form to loop through after a click the next. I have looked around in this site, and ive not found the answers im looking for. What im trying to do is I have navigation records for my form, but when I reach the last record, I would like it to loop.
View 14 Replies View RelatedEvery Page has its on data source based on query, and they aren't related to Parent form or to each other. I want to set few buttons on every Page which would filter records in predefined way.Ex: one page has calculated field named [Za platiti]. It has numeric values form 0 up. I want to set one button to filter only records where field [Za platiti] is greater then 0, and other butt to filter only records where [Za platiti] is = 0. Other filters based on combo box I use regularly.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Main Form which is essentially the based on my child table called tblTaskHistory. The Main Form has a subForm which is based on the parent table called tblTasks. I am using SQL queries to feed the combo box recordsource that is located on the Main Form. The After Update for the combo box populates the subForm which allows the users to look at details of a task before he/she "accepts" it. The problem is that when he/she clicks on the subForm to view the details of the task the Main Form locks up. The user, after interacting with the subForm, cannot make an edit on Main Form now. The user has to close the Main Form and then reopen it to perform the "accept" action. The form works absolutely as intended - that is if the user doesn't click on the subForm - however once he/she clicks on the subForm the Main Form locks up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a program that has a "GC" Button that I click on which takes me to a General Contractor Form. It works perfectly unless the Firm has an apostrophe in it's name. For example "D'Agostino". (refer to attached DAgostino1.jpg). When I click on the GC button, I get the attached Syntax error, (Syntax on DAgostiono.jpg).
The third attachment (GC Firm Button Code.jpg) shows the VBC for this button.
how to fix this error?

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a66/bubbajoe12345/workspace.jpgI've created a nice form for entering information into the record -- works for viewing the records as well. Here's the thing, in a traditional Rolodex you can somewhat see the names of nearby records. With this form as is, when using the arrows at the bottom to move around in the records, you can't really be sure how far away the name you're looking for is. See that mini table in the top left corner? I'd like to make it so that, when you click on a name there, the rest of the form changes to the corresponding information.
All of the rest of the form is linked through social security number. When a new person is chosen in the main body, all of the other tables change to reflect his information. Except for that single table in the top left corner. That table is unliked to the other tables and is merely sitting there on the form right now.
So, how can I link them such that selecting a name from that top left corner will change the person in the main body of the table (and thus change the other tables)?
While I'm asking, what's involved with turning this form into one of those Database Web Page things?
Thanks for all of your help, everyone, I wouldn't have made it this far without you.
A while ago I started to use the following code to list the printers installed on a computer. This is code by Wayne Phillips.
This works well, but what if instead of simply getting a big message box with all the printers listed I wanted to be able to click on a name and set that printer? How do I do that?
Code for the button:
Private Sub cmdListPrinters_Click()
Dim strCount As String
Dim strMsg As String
Dim prtLoop As Printer
On Error GoTo ShowPrinters_Err

I'm currently building a database in Access 2013. I've used Access many years ago, and not really in anger since maybe 2003, so I've been re-learning quite a lot. Here's an overview of my scenario, and issue:
The main purpose of my database is to allow engineers to log various bits of information when building, servicing and testing manufactured products for offshore exploration. Because some of the engineering team aren't so great with data entry etc, I've decided that, rather than deleting data, I'm going to use a 'deleted' flag: user clicks what he considers to be a delete button, but in reality an update query will simply update the flag and, because the form is built on a query which includes a 'where deleted = 0' filter, it'll no longer be shown. This will allow us more control over the data and will also allow me to check that everything is running okay.
My main forms include a number of subforms, including one which includes a second tier of nested form: Pin Maps for (electrical) Connectors.
What I need to achieve is fairly straightforward: as the user navigates around the form, I'd like a 'delete' button which is specific to that subform to become visible and for any other 'delete' buttons to become hidden. Once tested, the buttons would be 'stacked' in the same position at the top of the main form, so the user just thinks they're deleting the relevant record in the sub, or main, form.
I am working on a web database with a form which is bound to an underlying web table where the submissions occur.My challenge is that the fields on the form get submitted to the table even before the submit button is clicked regardless of whether the form was completely filled.
My request is that I want the form to only submit to the submission table only when the submit button is clicked.When I searched on the net, the only solutions I got are VBA written code but my web database cannot use VBA code.
VBA code:
Option Compare Database
Option Explicit
Private blnGood As Boolean
Private Sub cmdSave_Click()
blnGood = True
Call DoCmd.RunCommand(acCmdSaveRecord)
blnGood = False
End Sub
[code]....
