Forms :: Changing The Password In The Table From A Form
May 9, 2013
I have a login button in which if the username has an empty password or the user is his/her first time to login, another form will appear which is the Set New Password. How can I change the password of that current user, my Set New Password Form has two fields which is 'txtSetPassword1' and 'txtSetPassword2' and an OK button.
The user must enter a new password and a verification password, if the 2 fields matched, the new password entered will change the password in the table. The table name is 'tbl_UsernamesQry'.
I have done it but the main problem is, it changes the other's users password not the current user.
Here is my code for the OK button of that form Set New Password:
Private Sub btnSetOk_Click()
If Me.txtSetPassword1.Value = Me.txtSetPassword2.Value Then
Me.txtSetPassword1.SetFocus
I have a form that allows users to click on an item in a listbox and it brings them to the selected record in another form. However, everytime I close the form and open it, it changes the client name in the list to the client ID.
List is set up like this
Client ID | Client Name| Order Date 1 Mike 2013-08-04 2 Jon 2013-08-15 3 Mark 2013-08-17 ETC...
Turns into this on close - Changes the client name to the ID of the last item selected before close
Client ID | Client Name| Order Date 1 Mike 2013-08-04 2 3 2013-08-15 3 Mark 2013-08-17 ETC...
Select statement is: SELECT Client.[Client ID], Client.Client, Client.orderDate FROM Client ORDER BY Client.orderDate;
Code is: Option Compare Database Private Sub Command22_Click() 'opens the form with my subform that holds the table data On Error GoTo Err_Command22_Click Dim stDocName As String Dim stLinkCriteria As String stDocName = "Client1"
i am doing a computing project using access 2003 and vba. i have designed 2 forms A and B, form A is where a user to logs in to my system (with four main items: username (combo box), password (textbox) and two buttons) and form B is where the user can change their password (with four items: username (username (combo box), new password (textbox) and password verify (textbox) and a button that checks everything and updates the password). Form A has two buttons, one button can log the user into the system after typing in their correct username and password credentials, and the other button gives the option to change their password also after typing in their correct username and password credentials (and the opens up form B for the user to change their password) My question is, when the user presses the button to open up form B, what code could i use (or methods in access) that would set the username field (in form B) the same as in form A automatically without the user having to select it again? All help would be much appreciated
Access 2007 / I'm creating a database form that has a combo box drop down pulling EmployeeName and a free text field to enter a password. I need the password entry validated against the password stored in a column on the same row as the Employee Name selected from the combo box when a button is clicked. . IF, that value is validated, I need the button click to also record a "time in" or "clock in" entry in a different table.how to validate the password.
i have found a code that brings up a box when tab or clicking in to a box for editing as below:-
Dim strPassword As String If InputBox("Please enter the password:") <> strPassword Then SomeOtherControl.SetFocus TextBox1.Locked = True End If
its just that need to add a password as well, i have tried to put this in between the <> but this does not work. i would like a message to say incorrect password as well if possable.
Hello everyone, and thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
I am currently working on a large project to track, issue out, and re supply an operational stock of various tools and parts we use in our shop on a normal basis. This program is in it's beginning steps at the moment, and already I need some help.
If anyone has any tips on how I can change the raw numerical data in my table, via a textbox and a command button on a form, I would be greatful. I am trying to avoid allowing users to directly modify table data. Although this method is what I am aiming for, I will gladly accept any suggestions. Thanks
I have a password protected form that works fine. However, when you type in the password it can be seen on the screen. Is there a way I can change that so that when the password is typed in it can't be read (perhaps showing asterisks)?
This is what I'm using:
In ON CLICK event Dim PassWord As String PassWord = InputBox("Enter Password") If PassWord = "MYPassword" Then ' Open Form DoCmd.OpenForm "MYFormName" DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec Else MsgBox ("You're not authorized") End If
I am creating a database where I will select recipes from one table and then create a shopping list through related ingredients from another table. I want to be able to clear all selected recipes before I start a new class.
For example, I have 100 recipes and am using 10 this week, but next week i am using a different 10. To create a new grocery list I want to clear all of this week's selected recipes before selecting the new bunch of recipes.
Is there a way (I am assuming a macro would be used) to insert a command button that would change all y/n values of the recipes table to no?
I found a useful password protected form using input box and tried it successfully. However there are two issues. The password is not case sensitive and the password entered displays in the box. Is it possible to turn the password to case sensitive and the entered password is displayed as *s.
'Attached to On Click event of cmdOpenEmpForm Dim strPasswd strPasswd = InputBox("Enter Password", "Restricted Form")
'Check to see if there is any entry made to input box, or if 'cancel button is pressed. If no entry made then exit sub.
My scenario is that a user enters how many parts of 'Part No.' are going in or out of Inventory. I also would like fields automatically entered on other tables based on the data the user enters. All I need is some understanding of how to code something like this or a pointing in the direction of a resource that can tell me how to code this VBA stuff and the syntax required. Hopefully you get what I mean.
I'm making a form for colleagues to use which will eventually populate a table. I'm using DLookup to populate some of the fields in the form from another table. The problem is that for a few of the fields in that other table, the values are incorrect.
(Obviously the most sensible thing to do would be to amend the source data but for various reasons I cannot do that.)
For example, "date built" in the original table might be "f" but that needs to be changed to "h", so I tried the following but it doesn't work: .................................................. ............................................
If DLookup("date_built", "dbo_meas_questionnaire", "[meas_id] = Forms!FrmRetestSearch.numOrigId") = "f" Then Me.TxtDateBuilt = "h" Else Me.TxtDateBuilt = DLookup("date_built", "dbo_meas_questionnaire", "[meas_id] = Forms!FrmRetestSearch.numOrigId") End If .................................................. ..................................................
I created a small database with a user login form, along with a password reset form. Running it in my sandbox as an accdr file, the password value resets just fine, but on my test machine with the Access 2010 runtime installed, the password reset form doesn't reset the password. I will try to describe the state of things as of this point.
1. The LoginF presents with a combo box for the user to choose their name, and a text box to enter their password. The code below is on the After Update of the password text box.
Code: Private Sub txtPassword_AfterUpdate() 'Check if user has been chosen If IsNull(Me.cboUser) Then MsgBox "Please Select User Initials", vbInformation, "Warning"
[Code] ....
2. The password reset form has two text boxes for the new password and to re-enter the same, as well as a command button with this code.
Code: Private Sub cmdResetPassword_Click() If Me.Password = Me.PasswordTest And Len(Me.Password) & "" > 0 Then DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSaveRecord DoCmd.Close DoCmd.OpenForm "LoginF"
[Code] ....
As I say, this works as an accdr file, but not in the actual runtime environment.
I have made a table and quered that table. I have a form that I designed and is working well. It updates the table like it is supposed to. The problem I have is when I go in and change the master table. I decided that instead of havinga field titled "Unlisted/Listed" I just made it Listed and you put a yes or no. But when I do that and go back to the form a box pops up asking for some value. How do I fix this? Thank you.
First post in this forum. I am using office 2003 pro. I have an Access database that I would like to change the title of. I would ilke this change to be applied to forms, reports and tables. I have done this in the past but can't recall how to do it.
I have designed a form using the wizard from a table which records transactions for an entity.
I have a Primary Key (auto number), entity id, transaction amount, description and date fields in the table.
I look up the entity using a list box, then populate unbound fields then use CurrentDb.Execute "INSERT INTO in order to save the new record.
When I open the form for use, it automatically changes the entity id of a previously added record to the most recently selected entry in the list box. I am unsure why it does this. It seems to be editing previous records when you change the value of the list box.
I would like to set up a picture in the form that changes based on a combobox selection, for example if you select from combo box list "design1", a picture that have a name : design1 will appear as a background to the form ..
I have a simple add form that will add an entry to one of two tables: Box 1-1, or Box 1-2.
They have the exact same fields. In the add form, I want the user to specify a Rack field and a Box field. Box 1-1 would be Rack 1, Box 1. Box 1-2 would be Rack 1, Box 2 (there will be more tables later, but just using two for now until I get it working).
But right now my form always adds to the table Box 1-1 - I can't get it to switch.
I've added the code I have so far below. The first part is what I'm having trouble with, the second part just uses a Submit button to add a new record - I'm just including it in case it's interfering in some way I'm not seeing. I'm running Access 2007.
Code: Private Sub Switch_BeforeUpdate() If Me.Rack.Value = "1" And Me.Box.Value = "1" Then Form_Add.RecordSource = "Box 1-1" ElseIf Me.Rack.Value = "1" And Me.Box.Value = "2" Then Form_Add.RecordSource = "Box 1-2"
I have a database (split into front and backend). Users populate the table using a form on the front end. Recently, it has been pointed out that some of the data entered into one specific textbox is being changed on the table. The data entered is always has a minimum of a letter and number value i.e. "A1", "A2" etc. Upon examining the table, this has changed into numeric values i.e. "1291", "1061", "852"... etc. Looks like it is translating them into both 3 and 4 digit numerical values by the looks of things. Where more complex data is entered such as "2(A1, A2)" these seem unaffected.
The field is set to text, I have set no validation rule, format or input mask. Just can't see why access is changing these values. It seems to be translating them, but I can't see a pattern.
I have access 2010, I currently have a database in place and operational. What I am wondering is there a way to have a form come up whenever someone opens access and asks for a password and login name. Also I would like to have a 2 tier system. One for Admins and the other for users with limited access.
I am building a very comprehensive Membership Management Database with extremely useful facilities initiated by some 20 or 25 Queries..
The database includes 5 Tables which store data relevant to members, another which stores details of Interest Groups and a 3rd which stores which members are affiliated to which Group or Groups.
Currently the database is accessible only by a very limited number of persons and data can be entered/edited by only one person. The database, using Access 2010, is maintained on a desktop computer and synchronized to a copy on a Cloud.
My requirement is to permit some 50 Group Leaders to input/edit data on a Password protected Group Members Form such that that is the only element of the database that they can access. The Forms would have only 2 fields from which the user would select entries from drop down lists.
My query is ; is such a procedure feasible in principle and would I be correct in assuming that the user would require to have available a copy of Access.
