I have a form (frmHourEnter) with a combo box (Staff_ID) that lists staff members from a table (tblStaff). The table form (frmStaff) has a checkbox (ckEmploy) which indicates if a staff member is still employed. If the checkbox is checked how do I exclude that staff member from the combo box Staff_ID in the form frmHourEnter?

Forms :: Checkbox / List Box And Unbound Keyword Search

I'm relatively new to Access 2010. I have an excel spreadsheet that I've converted into an access table for the purposes of creating a user friendly form for the end user to search for relevant criteria to retrieve a list of records that fit the requests. There are two main search functions: unbound keyword search (90+ keywords), and either a series of checkboxes or one list box that lists specific countries/regions matched in a column (columns, as I will get to shortly). The region selection is bound by a selection of 15 countries.

The key is each record can correspond to more than one country. This, one record can have "Belgium, Germany, brazil" and the next record can just have "brazil". Thus if someone selects brazil, the query must retrieve the Belgium Germany brazil record in addition to the record that covers just brazil. I've tried to do this with a concatenated column that list all countries and a text box search, I've tried to do this with individual checkbox columns for each country with checkboxes in the search form...and I can't get it to work. I don't fully understand the criteria to set for checkboxes or list boxes. What would be the best way to build this form, an how?

I only want to use it for viewing purposes only. But I don't see the Calendar control or MonthView in Activex list.

Where I might obtain such a month view control?

Forms :: Not Empty List View At Form Load

I have created a form with a list view (active-x) to be able to control colors, etc in a list.

When I open my form, it is already information (three rows) in the list view. This despite the fact that I have shut down the access application and even shifted the database to another computer.

I can of course delete the elements with ListItems.Clear when I open the form, but I'd rather like that they did not show up at all.

Where these "default-elements" are stored, so I can remove them from the list view once and for all?

I am using MS Access 2010, I have three tables,

Policies (Id, Client Id, Address, Policy Amount, Paid)
Payments (Id, Client Id, Total Amount)
Payment Details (Payment Id, Policy Id, Paid Amount)

I have created a form "PAYMENTS" that include a sub form "PAYMENT DETAILS".

In the sub form control Policy Id is defined as combo box, and retrieving the list from Policies and Payments where Policies.Client=Payments.Client the query of Combo Box is as follows:

Code:

SELECT POLICIES.[POLICY ID]
FROM POLICIES
WHERE (((POLICIES.PAID)=False) AND ((POLICIES.CLIENT)=[Forms]![PAYMENTS]![ClientId]));

Only first time Combo Box display the Policy Ids according to the Client, but when I change the client and always displays the previous clients Policy Ids.

how to retrieve correct list of Policy Ids according to the Input Client in Payments.Client control

Queries :: Using Variable In A List Field Query - Getting Complete List On Initial View

In my access form I provide the user a list of locations from various countries in a listbox . But the list is too long so I provide him a combobox for selecting a country. Selecting the country should update the listbox showing only the locations in that specific country.

So my SELECT from the listbox must cover the unselected state and show all entries and when a country is selected it must narrow the selection.

I tried to get this happen with the following SELECT statement containing a variable. Choosing a country in the Combobox results in a change of the variable and in a requery. This works after the first country is selected and for each country change, but the initial list is empty.

VBA in the loadform
'Application.TempVars.Add "varcountryselect", "*"
SELECT in the listbox "lstlocationsperproject"
SELECT tbllocations.locationID, tbllocations.country, tbllocations.localstreet, tbllocations.localcity FROM tbllocations WHERE ((tbllocations.country) Like [TempVar]![varcountryselect]);

VBA in the combobox

The values in [kombcountryselect].Column(0) are texts like "SPAIN", "MEXICO", etc.

Any hints, how I have to use the * for getting the complete list on the initial view ?

Forms :: Control Setup - Bind List Box Result To Table Field

I want a List Box on a Form that takes its available drop-down values from tblDiscipline and puts the value selected into the Discipline Field of tblEquipment.

The problem is I set the Control Source of the List Box to tblDiscipline (so the List Box can use these values for the drop-down selections) and when I make a selection it tries to put it back into tblDiscipline instead of tblEquipment, because I can't find anywhere to set the table that the result should be Bound to.

How can I set up a control, such as a List Box, so that it gets its values from one table but returns them to another?

I successfully cascaded the combo boxes so that the agreements discussed on the subform are filtered by their respective institutions on the main form. However i am unable to refresh the list each time a new institution is selected as the Macro will not allow me to requery a control on the mainform from the subform..

Matrix View Allowing Checkbox For New Record Creation / Deletion?

What I would like to do it take all 'RoleTitle' from RolesList, all 'CourseID' from courselist and show them as a pivot table/matrix with a checkbox that creates or deletes entries from the RoleRequirements table. So, if it exists in the RoleRequirements table then it should appear a checked, unchecking it would delete it from the table.

I am using access 2010 with a SQL server 2005 backend.

For the following code chk is a check box, ischecked is a yes/no field.

Dim sSQL as string
sSQL = "Select [ischecked] from tbluser where userId='abc'"

But when I run the following vba code, no matter ischecked is yes or no, it always shows me the checkbox is unchecked. Am I doing anything wrong? If yes how to correct it?

Control Subform Textbox From Master Form Checkbox?

My bound master form has bound subform in it and both of them has linked fields. In the master form i've placed a checkbox which if unchacked will lock and disable a textbox in the SUBFORM, and if checked will enable and unlock the textbox and fill it with a calculation result, which will then be passed on to the underlying table.

Now, suppose in the master form (named X), i have A (checkbox) and B (textbox with numeric value) and in the subform (named Y), i have C & D (both textboxes with numeric values). Hence if A is checked, I'd like D to return the result of - "B*C". Or else D will remain locked and disabled.

Tab Control View Problemo

I know this has been discussed before, but I cannot seem to find any threads regarding this issue.

So, I'm using the tab control on my form, but every time I open my form the view scrolls down and I cannot see the actual tabs. Is there any way to correct this?

On a form I have a:

control called "FilterListBox"
list box called "lstCustomer"
option Box called "optCustomerType"

When the user selects an option in the option box, "FilterListBox" is updated to either "1", "2" or "1 or 2"..One of the fields in the query for "lstCustomer" is "CustomerType" and its criteria is set as follows:

[Forms]![frmPrintHowCustomersPaidInvoice]![FilterListBox]

if "FilterListBox" = 1 the query for "lstCustomer" returns the correct records
if "FilterListBox" = 2 the query for "lstCustomer" returns the correct records

But if "FilterListBox" = 1 or 2, no records are returned.

I have a Form which I have linked correctly to a subform. The Text boxes are showing in the Design view but are not when one switches to the Form View. Labels for Fields are visible in the Form View. Have even created a new subform and that will also not display the Text Boxes.

Why the ability to view the properties of an object within a form is not available when you double click on it in design view?

I was happily working away double clicking on a command button to edit some code when for some reason the next time I tried to edit it did not open up for me.

I was unable to access it even by right clicking on the object & selecting properties as that also appears to be disabled, not greyed out or anything but just does nothing when selected.

Have I inadvertently changed a setting somewhere that prevents the properties from being displayed?

Forms :: No Filters - Cannot View All Records In Form View

I have 4 tables and around 440 records but can only view up to 417 in the form I have designed. I have been adding new records via form and it has been added to my main table, but when i try to view it in form view - the record is not available to view. What do I need to do to correct this problem?

I have checked that there are no filters, data entry is set to No, Auto deletions, additions and edits are set to yes.

Also to mention it seems that the problem has arisen since I set up some new queries, there is a one to one relationship between the tables!

I want to "zoom" to the underliyng data from pivot view. When in excel someone doubleclicks a field in a pivot table, it automatically creates a table containing all the lines that field were made up from. I want to achieve the same behaviour in Access.I started to think towards a VBA coda, that could be initiated from the form's double click event. It should go to datasheet view with the prpoer filter criterias.

Design View & Control Button Errors

Hi,
Can anyone advise why I am getting these two error messages in attached image.
I am running Access 97.
The first message refering to fDesign appears each time I have something open & click on the Design View icon.
The only way I can go into design view for a form or table etc is when I am in the tab windows for the table or form highlight it and click on Design.

The second error message refering to the refresh appears whenever I try to run a refresh command button created via the wizard.

I have the same refresh command buttons on other forms I created earlier on & have no problems with them when run. If I create a new refresh command button on same form it works. But any new forms I create I get this error.

Can anyone please advise what I am doing wrong or which settings I should look at as I have tried most settings.

Content To Control Changed On Open Or View

Hi

I have a text filed on a tab control on a form. What I want to do is when the record is opened for viewing I am it changed the contents of that field. The reason that I am doing this is that I am auditing the changes in the database and any changes to any of the fields are recorded on the in this table along with the users windows username.

This would put an entry in the audit table for everytime a record was opened, even if no changes were made to the record and I want to use this information to create a last ten records form for the users to view there last ten records.

Does anybody know how I can do this.

I have a list view in my form

I add new rows in the list view by code

my problem is that when i add more value, the new value add at the bottom of the list view that I cant see it just have to use the scroller.

is it possible to add new value but to see it on the top, that in the list view I see the new value and to see the old value I use the scrollers.
