Forms :: Checking If Date Falls Between Two Dates?
Jun 9, 2015
I want to check if a date falls between the first date of a year and the last date of a year.
The goal is to go through a table in the database that contains dates in a column. There are for example several dates in the year 2014 and there are dates in the year 2015.
What i want to do is get a list in a report that shows me for every year a line in the list with other data that i will calculate. So a line for 2014 and a line for 2015.
I have a report that shows a Start Date and an End Date. I also have a control that shows a date which I'm wanting to check. I tried the conditional formatting to create something that says When this date is greater than start date and less than end date I want the cell to be Red.
I have a complex database app that has a form called from the main form. It requires two inputs: BeginningDate and EndingDate and I use a calendar picker for date selection. Using data assigned to a variable, I build the SQL query in VBA. The result is:
Code: SELECT [1733_All Print Orders].[Application], Sum([1733_All Print Orders].[TotalImages]) AS SumOfCCPC FROM [1733_All Print Orders] WHERE [Application] = 'CCPC' AND [StatementDate] >= #9/3/2013# AND [StatementDate] <= #9/30/2013# GROUP BY [1733_All Print Orders];[Application]
[1733_All Print Orders] is a defined query that combines 4 tables together and there are data that falls within the dates for CCPC. But the query returns no records.
I pasted the query to the query builder and using different combinations, I isolated that the [StatementDate] >= #9/3/2013# portion is what returns no records
To complicate matters even worse, prior to today, it worked. I made some adds and changes to another area of the application, but did not touch this code.
I've got a members table where my members pay an annual fee. The fee is paid 12 months on from when they originally registered. So, for example, 12 months from today, i would expect to pay my next annual fee.
Now, with different members registering at different times of the year, it isn't so straightforward. I would like my calculated field to indicate to me if a payment is required.Furthermore, I would like to include a '' date range '' so that the calculated field entitled ''Payment Required?'' shows yes for a fortnight. Here is my attempt at the expression which partially works:
PaymentRequired?: IIf((Format(Date(),"dd/mm")>= [RenewalDate] And Format(Date(),"dd/mm")<=[RenewalDateAdd14])Or ([Subscription Paid?]=0),"Yes","No")
i used the Format Date method. But i've got a case where someone is due to pay at the end of November...and today being teh 3rd of December.they should have a good few days yet to pay the fee (before teh aforementioned 14 days is up)
Basically what im trying to do is a database which checks to see if something is available.
The database is a booking system for services. I need the database to check a "booking" table to see if there is a booking on a specific date. If there is, then you cannot make a booking. If there isn't then you can.
In my "booking table" there is a list of dates of bookings. Each booking lasts a week. So if someone wants to make a booking, it cant just check to see if the first day is available, it needs to check for 6 additional days. (i.e. a booking on 01 Jan 2006). If someone wants to make a booking, the database needs to account for a whole week, so the next available booking would be on 07 Jan 2006).
On my main form, I have a subform to input multiple dates, using date picker.
I also have a text box on the main form to input single dates, again using Date Picker.
On entering both the single date text box and the subform, I don't want the (default) date to be visible. I only want the date to be visible once I have selected a date from the Date Picker.
I have figured out how to do this with the single date text box. I have simply defaulted the forecolor to be white so that you can't see the font against the white backcolor. Then on the Change Event, I set the forecolor to be black. Works like a charm.
However... This same approach will not work with the subform. I've tried playing around with a bunch of different events, but so far nothing allows me to re-create what I am able to do with the single date text box on the main form.
I am making a Car Rental database on Access 2010, and I have a list of the dates available to rent a car in a table. I want to be able to check what dates are available and select a date for hire in a form.
I am trying to verify that there is no value entered in a text box on a subform before the main form closes. I have tried all manner of combination but continually get the statement that Access can't find the field referred to in your expression. I do have the names of all forms and fields correct.
Below are a couple of what I have tried. (SubassemblyFRM is the main form and ItemsSFRM is the subform and Description is the text field I am trying to check.)
I have a form with a number of entry fields and after a button is clicked I write to an MS Sql datatable. Everything works fine as long as I put a value in each field. If I do not put a value in one of the fields the sql does not run and the record is not added / updated in the database. I have tried checking the length of the data in the field using
Ent_Length = Len(tb_TagDesc) or Ent_Length = Len(tb_TagDesc.Text) or Ent_Length = Len(tb_TagDesc.value) but nothing shows.
I have some code that sends an email when the database is registered. The problem is that depending on a users security settings on their PC they can stop the email from being sent (2007) How can I add to the code to make it check that the user hadnt cancelled the email?
My code is:
Private Sub btnRegister_Click() Dim olApp As Object Dim objMail As Object On Error Resume Next 'Keep going if there is an error Set olApp = GetObject(, "Outlook.Application") 'See if Outlook is open
The following code searches for a record and if not found, the user is advised of that and allowed to re-enter the lookup stock number. Obviously, the code is only going to allow valid stock numbers. If the user clicks the 'Home' command button to close the form with an incorrect stock number in the lookup control, it is an endless exercise in advising of the incorrect stock number. I'm thinking of using the 'Home' command button as an escape. How can I tell if the 'Home' button was clicked? I have indicated where I believe it should be put.
Private Sub txtLookupNbr_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer) On Error GoTo Err_txtLookupNbr_BeforeUpdate Dim rst As DAO.Recordset Dim db As DAO.Database Dim lookup_Nbr As String lookup_Nbr = StrConv(Me.txtLookupNbr, vbUpperCase)
I've got an attendance form set up with check boxes for each day I want to check attendance. I have two problems with this form.
1) All the boxes start out with little squares (I want them to be blank) 2) If I try checking a box for one person, it checks all the boxes in the column (same with unchecking).
I have a Listbox on a fprm which has a button attached to it, the button allows you select one of the items in the listbox and append it to a table. the problem is that it currently allows you to add the item as many times as you like. How can I check for duplicates?
Code: Private Sub CmdAdd_Click() 'Add new record to tblShootingTasks strSQL = "INSERT INTO tblShootingTasks ( ShootID, ContactName, Task ) " _ & "SELECT [Forms]![frmTasks]![ShootDateiD] AS ShootID, [Forms]![frmTasks]![Combo15] AS ContactName, [Forms]![frmTasks]![Frame17] AS Task;" DoCmd.SetWarnings False DoCmd.RunSQL strSQL End Sub
I am developing a form where students have to enter their ID number but I want my form to check through a table of students and their IDs and flag up if the ID number does not exist in the table.
I have a checkbox on my form that basically deletes a record when the user ticks the checkbox. What I want to know is how do i check whether the person is "ticking" or "unticking" a checkbox before any action is carried out?
Below is some code that I'm struggling with and I get an error message "Type Mismatch".
Description: The database contains multiple projects and the subset of each project is a release. The "PublishedNumber" can't be a duplicate within a release, but it can be a duplicate within the table where the data is stored. There can however be multiple occurrences of 0.
Here's my code:
Dim stLinkCriteriaRelease As String Dim stLinkPublishedNumber As String Dim DuplicateNumber As Variant
I'm probably being a wee bit thick but grateful for some assistance.
I am trying to create a formula in a form that works out the date midway between two dates e.g. 1st date 1 Jan 05 2nd date 1 jan 06 formula works out 1 Jul 06 (or thereabouts) and this is then stored in a field.
how can i disable a textfield or two in a form when the textbox is unchecked also how do i add a default value for it while the textbox itself is disabled, can i get away with it by adding a default value on the textbox?
Searched birthday in threads and couldn't figure this out.
I have a select query and I am trying to retrieve a birthday that is between two dates.
This is how I set up my expressions:
chkBirthDay: Format([BirthDay],"m/d")
Criteria for chkBirthDay Between Format([LaneDate]-3,"m/d") And Format([LaneDate]+3,"m/d"
So if LaneDate = 9/7/2005 I should be able to retrieve all of the Birthdays that fall within 9/4 and 9/10. Correct?
I do retrieve records but they are dates such as 9/17/1921 and 9/18/1948 but of course they do not satisfy the criteria. There is a date in the table that does, 9/7/1981, but that record does not show up?
I have an arrival date and a departure date and I need to work out if the current date is within the two dates. It's a criteria for one of my fields on the query I'm using as the backbone for a list box. Any help greatly appreciated :D
I've read alot of good things on here regarding the DateDiff function and some other things that have helped me out finding the difference between two dates within the same entry on a table. I have a question regarding finding the difference in days between two entries within the same table.
Example:
test table:
Date ID # Name 1/18/07 1234567 Smith 1/20/07 1234567 Smith 1/23/07 1234567 Smith
Is there a way to find the difference in days between the lowest and highest dates? I want to know how many days are between the first entry and the last entry? In this cae it would be five days. I can do it if the days are in the same entry with the datediff function, but having trouble finding it in this situation. Any pointers?
(Thanks for all the good information on this site, BTW. I've seen a few posts similar to this, but it didn't really answer my question)
