I'm working on a form that I want to insert a plus button/minus button.I am aware of the vba code numbers 107 and 109 if you want to use the actual keys but I would rather use a button.
I made a button and here is the code I used now. This code is numeric box specific. So it only adds one to the MileageStart numeric field. (Additionally you can put a minus in to subtract one).
Private Sub Command153_Click()
MileageStart = MileageStart + 1
End Sub
Instead of having a bunch of these buttons all over boxes on my form is there some code that I can use to "select" a text box and just have the Plus/Minus button on the form header that I would hit and it would add or subtract (and then I could go to another box select it and hit Plus/Minus and so forth).

I am creating a program to allows us to figure out where our personnel are. I am using a continuous Form that shows the individuals name, phone numbers etc. and infront of that is a checkbox, and a combobox that shows "Leave", "TDY", "Contacted" etc. I also have two fields that fill up with what time they were contacted or when they reported in. The default status is "Not Attempted and the checkbox is not checked, and the time fields are blank.
I attempted to use this code:
Dim ctl As Control
For Each ctl In Me.Controls
Select Case ctl.ControlType
Case acCheckBox
ctl.Value = False
Case acComboBox
ctl.Value = "Not Attempted"
End Select
Next ctl
but it will only clear the one line (it doesn't clear the times yet, i figure i'd add that once I figure out to clear one). This seems to work if this was a single form, but not for continuous. How can I convert this for continuous forms?

I have a continuous form with a button 'Cmd1' & a textbox 'txtMail' which is set to visible no.
When the user clicks Cmd1 - then txtMail becomes visible.
I can do it using vba on the buttons click event but when it executes txtMail for all the records become visible.
How do I use a button's click event on the form's current record - Private Sub Form_Current() so that when the user clicks Cmd1 on the current record only txtMail for that record becomes visible.
I'm using Access 2007.

I have a continuous form in which I put a command button for each record called "detail". I would like to click on the "detail" button and make it open another form containing all (and only) the info on this record.
At first I refused to use an "id" to link both forms, but finally I added the "id" in the table... however still does not work.
continuous form: "04 - GASTOS_BUSQUEDA"
id field on continuous form: "Gastid"
pop-up (details) form: "GASTOS_EDITAR"
id on pop-up (details) form: "editar_id"
This is what I have tried on the "click" properties of the "details" button field (called "btn_editgs"):
1)
DoCmd.OpenForm "GASTOS_EDITAR", acNormal, , "[editar_id] = " & Me.Gastid
2)
DoCmd.OpenForm "GASTOS_EDITAR", , , "[editar_id]=" & Me.Gastid
3)
stLinkCriteria = "[editar_id]=" & Me![Gastid]
DoCmd.OpenForm "GASTOS_EDITAR", , , stLinkCriteria
4)
Private Sub btn_editgs_Click()
On Error GoTo btn_editgs_Click_Err
Dim strWhere As String
strWhere = "[editar_id] = " & Me.Gastid
DoCmd.OpenForm "GASTOS_EDITAR", , , strWhere
btn_editgs_Click_Exit:
Exit Sub
btn_editgs_Click_Err:
MsgBox Error$
Resume btn_editgs_Click_Exit
End Sub

I have two command buttons in a subform "sbfScoutRegDetails", one that launches a report and the other attaches the report pdf to an email, associated with the record ID when clicked.
Both of these buttons work fine when just the subform itself is open, but when viewing it in its main form, I get a window saying 'enter parameter value' for "Forms!sbfScoutRegDetails!ID" (this is the WHERE condition in the macro).The report then opens with all the record information blank.The full WHERE condition
Code:
[ID]=[Forms]![sbfScoutRegDetails]![ID]
Not sure if it's because of using a continuous form as a subform? I need the user to be able to view/print or email a contract to each group/contact that signs up.

So I have a continuous form and I have a button that is pressed when a job is released and it record a date in a field. I wanted to turn that button to disabled after pressed but after lots of reading found that it couldn't be done in a continuous form due to it disabling all buttons . So I decided to just make the code populate the field only if it was a null value so that it wouldn't overwrite a value if someone pressed it more than once. Well the null is my downfall in all this. I cannot make it compare and populate the date when the button is pressed. I have tried all I can find on the net and all I can think of.

Access 2010. I have a form pulling from a query to create a "To Do' list of sorts. On this form is a button to open an input form for the corresponding record (I hope). When this button is used I want it to pull certain data for that specific line from the query and input it into the new record opened by the button. I know this is possible as I use another db that does this but I have not been able to figure out how to make it work in the new db.

I have a form, the view of which is continuous forms.
It has information on the left of the screen which the user is expected to manually match to information on the right, based on the suggestion of the underlying query (based on table a and table b)
E.g.
Client A $200 <button> Mr Smith $200.00
Client B $100 <button> Mr Smith $100.01
There is a button "match me" which when clicked runs an update query.
My query is how do I change the caption on the "match me" button to say "matched" just for the one that is clicked? Because it is a continuous form, if I use Command1.Caption = "Matched" or Me!Command1.Caption = "Matched" it changes it for all the buttons on the form.
Many thanks.

I have a continuous form reflecting events. The notes field is too large and so has to be it's own form. I made a button that is supposed to open the notes for the record. But it doesn't matter which record I'm on, it clicking the button always brings up the same note - it doesn't link the criteria and open only the correct record in the notes form. Is this because it's a continuos form? How can I fix this?

There is a continuous form with a check box in each row and a command button(cmdDetails) in the form footer section. You select a record and press cmdDetails and another form opens.
Rather than in the footer, I would like to have the command button placed in the details section itself, in each row, against each record, so that the check box can be eliminated. Pressing any button will open the corresponding form. how I can "associate" each record with the button next to it.

Hello there,
I was wondering if any of you experts out there know a way to help me out here.
I was wondering if it is possible to color the text on the last pressed button on a continuous form different from all the others, so people will know which one they pressed last?
I've been trying a lot of different things here but i'm stuck. All i can get done is that all the buttons turn a different color, but doesn't solve anything.
I hope some of u can help me out here.
Greetz,
And thanx in advance,
Rutger

Good Evening,
I wonder if anyone could help me please.........
I have found Ghudsons attached ‘Browsing2’ example to be of enormous
benefit/use to me when I have been creating various Databases, however I was wondering whether Ghudson or any other kind person(s) would either show or point me in the right direction as to how to create a ‘Delete’ facility which is very similar to the ‘Open’ command button on the continuous form.
I have attempted to adapt the enclosed 'coding' to see if it will come up with the result that I want, but unfortunately I cannot!
Attachment kind courtesy of Ghudson

I have a bound continuous tabular form,However, based on data content in one field of a record, I want a checkbox in the same record enabled, so the user can check it if necessary. I have created a record set using the form as shown below, and I am looping through each record. To show that my code is referring to the field with required data content, I display it as a message box and it works, yet my checkbox does not enable.
I have the code in the form_load event, however, for testing purposes I have it behind a button.If I am seeing this properly, the code behind the button enables the checkbox for ALL records once the criteria in the required field is true, and based on the last record, which has no data content, it disables the checkbox in ALL records. I also have the PK ID for each record hidden in the form. Can I utilize that to target the checkbox of each individual record??
Form Detail
-Form does not allow additions or deletions. Edits allowed
-All fields are disabled and locked
-I only want the check box to unlock if data is found in the "RequiredField" as referred to below. I have also tried if not isNull(requiredfield.value) then -enable checkbox, which yields the same results
Here is my code
Code:
Dim rstMyForm As DAO.Recordset
Set rstMyForm = Forms!MyForm.Form.Recordset
rstMyForm.MoveFirst
Do While Not rstMyForm.EOF
If Not RequiredField.Value = "" Then
[code]...

I want to use buttons on a form to change the sort order on a continuous form. In the buttons click event I am using a public function (named Sort_1) to change the sort order. The first element of the event call is the name of a generic query (named Sort_1_Query1) and the query field to sort (LAST_NAME OR FRIST_NAME, depending on the button.)This is the Click Statement.
=Sort_1("Sort_1_Query1","LAST_NAME")
This is the Public Function
Public Function Sort_1(SortName As String, FieldName1 As String)
DoCmd.ApplyFilter SortName, FieldName1 & "between 'A' and 'Z'"
End Function
I think the problem is in the use of quotation marks or trying to pass the query field name to the Do Command or the use of an ampersand.

I have a continuous form sfrmAddress which is based on my table tblAddressList. What I am trying to achieve concerns the date fields DateFrom and DateTo.
DateFrom is a bound text box txtDateFrom
I am trying to put an IIf function in the Control Source of unbound text box txtDateTo
=IIf([txtDateFrom]=[qryAddressHistory1]![LatestFromDate],Date(),[tblAddressList]![DateTo])
qryAddressHistory1 returns the LatestFromDate , so the most recent address.
The idea being if it is their most recent address, they have lived there until today, if it is not their most recent address it will display the date contained in the table (when they moved out or DateTo).
I have tried this a few different ways, double and triple checked my references and I'm usually OK with IIf so I don't understand where it's going wrong!
I should add I'm getting the #Name? error all the way down the column when I open the form.

I have the following code that is intended to use the three fields obtained from a record on a continuous form and display the details of the record on a single form. I have not used the findfirst method because I am having enormous problems with it. Instead I am defining a query based on the recordsource of the continuous form. This sql query gives one record as result and that record is to be used as recordsource by the single form.
Code:
Public Sub SboxSelectForm(ForName, ParName, QryName)
On Error GoTo NotFound
Debug.Print "SelectForm ForName="; ForName; " ParName="; ParName; " QryName="; QryName
Dim ResultQy As String, F As Form, P As Form
Dim db As DAO.Database
Dim Prsc As DAO.Recordset, Frsc As DAO.Recordset
[code]....

I have a listbox which contains a list of schools. I would like the user to be able to select 1 or all the records from that list box. From that list of selected records, my goal is to allow the user to use each school selected and use that as a record source for a continous form so I can allow the user to input a integer next to it, like school size.
Example:
Listbox (Schools)
ID, Name
1, Thomas School
2, Jefferson School
3, Washington School
4, Madison School
5, Franklink School
User select Thomas, Washington and Madison
In a Continuous Form it would list,
Thomas School, Text Box (Allow User to input School Size)
Washington School, Text Box (Allow User to input School Size)
Madison School, Text Box (Allow User to input School Size)
I then would save those records into a table.

I have a continuous form in my database that depending on the criteria used will display any number of records. Each record has a check box so the user can select a record for printing. Quite often the user wants to select all of the checkboxes.
Is there a way to do that in vba off of a command button.

use a continuous form to allow users to quickly enter any number of records. One of the fields in this continuous form is an ID (not a foreign key, actually not a key in the database but crucial for other purposes) which is incremental from the last one stored in a table.
I am able to use a combo box and a query to get the ID but I cannot save the value to the text box on the first record, and then requery and get the next id when the user moves onto the next record..and so forth..
