Is is possible to create a form that is 4 pages in length? After info is entered in first two pages I would like to print out all 4 pages to pass on to another person.

Newbie-Creating Pages Within A Form To Break Up Information

Hi! I'm a newbie and have very very basic understanding of Access...I'm running a small group of about 19 members that is expected to grow within the next two months to 11 more members...

I haven't been able to find a freeware club/membership database so having the fun of creating my own.

I used the "membership database" that microsoft offers and I figure out (very easily) how to do the page breaks, but I tried to add an option on the top of the form to goto page 3 and have access take my viewer to "page 3" of the form...

I've looked at the coding for page 1 and 2 that is already in place for the form where member info is enter, but it's just over my head and hoping someone can help me figure out how to build an event that when someone clicks on page 3, it will take the viewer to the "third page" of the form for additional information I hope to add.

Pages - Creating A Custom Theme

Can anybody help?

I would like to create a custom theme for my INPUT page, however within Access 2003 I only have the option of about 20 predefined themes. I want to insert my companies' logo onto the INPUT PAGE.

What I would like is to save a template, like I have done in REPORTS, so that when I build a INPUT PAGE I can select my own theme to use, based upon my companies' logo, type face et al .,

Creating Dynamic Web Pages With Microsoft Access?

Welcome,
i am making a database project for manufacturing purpose. I have made tables in MS Access and connected them with MySQL (ODBC). I have created data access pages for employee to access data to database. I have copied these page to my locale appache server and it works as a web page.
I could(employee) insert data from a web page to MySQL tables, but now I want to make some reports and templates(made in Access!) be accesible from web page for managers. Graphs made in access too.

I will look like this: User will log in on a web site, when he log in as a manager there will be available reports and graphs(data from MySQL) that I made in Access.
Data Access pages made in MS access <2007 work perfectly, can I make the same thing with reports, graphs, templates? I mean save them as a dynamic web page with links to databace?

Forms :: Access Form With Tab Control Pages Each With Embedded Forms

I have an access form with tab control pages each with embedded forms.In one page I have a list of records as a datasheet form with the record identifier field configured as a hyperlink. When I click on this it passes its value to a form field in the form in the following tab page (works without the hyperlink but its a useful way of highlighting which field to click) which is a display/edit form of the details of the individual record. The Subroutine which does this sets the focus on this field it is passing the value to on the other form and the 'On Got Focus' event in that triggers the query that fills the editor form.

When I click back on the following tab to select another record to view/edit, the identifier value of the other record is passed to the other form but the data displayed in the rest form doesn't change. I understand this is because the field with the 'On Got Focus' never lost focus and so the query function was not called. To correct this I tried adding the same function call to the 'On Change' event however this does not work (the field is a text box set to 'locked' if that is relevant).I can get the form to do a new query properly if I click on a different field in the form before going back to the list tab or (as this is removing the focus allowing the On Got Focus to work again) if I click on a button to select a different record (which just takes me back to the list form).

Is there any way I can get this to work without having to manually remove the focus from the problem field? I have tried setting its On Got Focus event to move the focus to another field after the query function call however this prevents the Setfocus line in the code in the previous form from working. Here is a snippet of my code below.This code is for the list form and passes a value to the editing form:

Forms :: Create Search Form That Returns Subset Of Other Form Pages?

I've built a PostgreSQL database for some ecology data and am trying to use MS Access 2010 to make a front-end for it.

I've created a form to display site data; it includes such fields as site ID, site name, county, state, landscape, etc. (There are more, but if I can get the idea down with a couple of these, I should be good to handle the rest). One can click through the form and see 14 pages of site details, which is fine because there are 14 sites.

What I want to do now is make a search form in which one can enter values for site ID, site name, county, etc, and somehow get the pages of the display form that match those values. It's not terribly important to me how that output looks - whether it's a list of matches that allows for clicking on a match and showing just one page of the display form, or whether it's a filtered subset of the display form pages that one still clicks through to view them all.

if there is code to write, where do I type it? Do I start my search form by making a form with the search fields as values, or is there some other way? How do I make those search fields into search boxes rather than display boxes?

Forms :: Selecting Few Names From A Long List

I am currently designing an employee personal development and training database.I have 100 employees and the number that would go on a training course might be a handful so selecting four or five names in a subform list from a 100 seems a bit impractical.

I thought of selecting the course in a form from a combo box, selecting the employees using a tickbox in a subform and then running an append query.

Forms :: Format Row Source As Long Date

the source table needs to be formatted as short date...my form is pulling data from a query and I would like to change the row source of my combo box on the form to be formatted in long date. row source is as followed

I have tried this with no luck

Forms :: Format Double Field As Long Time

I have recently upgraded my Access 2003 application to Access 2010. I am running into a problem when formatting a textbox to 'Long Time' that is linked to a Double type field. The error that I get is 'The value you entered isn't valid for this field. You may have entered text in a numeric field or a number that is larger than the FieldSize setting permits.'

The textbox is linked to a field (double data type) and displays as the time in long format (4:06:17 PM). When I try to change to 4:07:17 PM I get the error. I tried removing the 'PM' and the colons but the error still occurs. The only way that I can get it to work is if I use a double value (0.735405092592593). In Access 2003 the time value would display properly, allow me to change the time and then save the time as a double to the database.

Hyperlink To Different Part Of Same (very Long) Form

I'm writing some "Help" for an Access database that I've created, but lots of others will be using.

All I can think of is to type it all into a form which is then displayed when the user clicks a button I'll create on the menu. As it's going to be a long form, I want to put a "Contents" section at the top, with hyperlinks to relevant sections further down.

Is there a way to make one label (cos that's all the text is) hyperlink to another label in the same form? Or should I be going about this in a completely different way?

I've read a lot of the hyperlinks Q&As in the forums, but haven't found the answer to this yet. Thnaks in advance for any help.

I have a form that takes a long time to open – around a minute and sometimes longer. The form is based on a query, and this query on its own opens almost right away. Why would a form take so long to load up? What factors can increase a form’s load time?

Design Theory...using Web Pages As Forms!

Here at work we have access 97. My idea is to present to my boss a new way to go about the database. I tell him we need a copy of access 2003 and I use the pages function in it to make html files for people to load on thier machine for the database. This should allow me to have the much needed user friendlyness of access 2003 and all its features without the whole company buying office 2003 for every computer (although they should...)

As far as this working...Whats your opinion about it? Would this way of running a database work well? I am not to bad at html so thats not an issue either.

Forms And Subforms On Access Pages

:confused: Hi everybody. I have started trying to be a little more creative and making my systems a little more what the big boss where I work would like to see. I have set up an Access Data Page, with one form on it where the user would enter some required information, which is saved into a table for me to monitor (date, time, unit, spec reviewed, name etc). What I was hoping to do, was have on teh same Page, a subform or another form, where the user would reference that other form, when doing their entry. Basically, they are entering that they looked at a certain spec so if they produce the wrong item, or use the wrong materials, we can say well, you looked at this spec, or so you say.....Does anybody have any suggestions on how this can work? Or even if it is at all a possibility. Thanks!

Changing Forms To Access Pages?

I would like to change my Forms to Access Pages, Therefore they can be used like webpages. I converted them in access, however the command buttons dont work. Anyone have any ideas? Also I have been looking everywhere for any information on adding the ability to use a writing tablet with my access program. any ideas here? Thanks for your help :)

Forms :: Creating Hot-keys On A Form

I have a tab control on a form, and I want to use "Hotkeys' to get from one page to another (or more specifically, to toggle the visibility of the pages).

So, I set up the tab control with the pages I want hidden set with visible=No. Then I enable the Form.KeyPreview, so that the form will get a chance to look at all the key presses.

Lastly I have a Form.KeyDown handler, that looks like this:

This is early on in the design iteration - more will happen with the pages, but this is an easy way of reviewing various aspects of a project.

So what happens?

I put a breakpoint at the first If statement, and sure enough, it picks up the Ctrl key or the Alt key, whenever they are pressed. (I need to use the mouse to clear the msgbox, naturally!) When I press both of them (Ctrl/Alt) I get the required value of 6, but I never seem to get to the second msgbox. In addition, if I comment out the first message box, I also never seem to get to the second msgbox (ie the point where the combination has been detected.

KeyDown obviously has to fire for each component of a HotKey combination, and the Shift parameter has been shown to be cumulative. The only thing I can think of is that somehow I need to turn off keypress processing somewhere else (Used to be possible to use Cancel to do this, I seem to recall).

Forms :: Creating Mixes On A Form

I have a form that displays the quantity of plants that we are growing by genus, (marigolds, impatiens, petunias). each genus has many different varieties that can be used to make up the mix. I need to have some type of worksheet where we can put in the total qty and calculate the quantity of each variety by putting in percentages for each variety, much the same as you could do with a spreadsheet. The results of that worksheet then needs to be saved to a table for future use. Being fairly new to Access I'm not really sure what format to use. Is there a way to display the results of a query in datasheet view minipulate the numbers and update to my table?

A General Form Structure/work Question (LONG)

hello all, I am very new to access (my background is in VBA Excel, but I am not using VBA for access yet).
I was wondering if some of the more advanced people can give me pointers on how to accomplish (or work my way) to make the kind of form I am trying to do.
What I am trying to do is the following:
I have a vending company with couple of products such as espresso, latte, black coffee, etc.. (all of the products are sold at the same price for each customer, so I might sell the products for company A for .75, but for company B for .55 etc) and I am selling these products to many clients company A, B, C, D, etc. As A start I created a table with my products, then I created a table for my clients (this one includes name, address, contact person, and machine number ).
I would like to make a readout input form where it would get the customer name, machine number, each of the product's total for the readout period (this is usually every week), and the date of the readout. Now I would like the form to add a record in a table for the client machine number that was selected and maybe also in another table for the overall machine ( I am not sure how queries work, and weather I would need that or I can use queries for it).
My ultimate goal is to be able to do the following with the data:
- check (and perhaps graph) the overall statistics for a each of the products for all clients
- do the same for a certain client
- do the same for a certain machine at a client
- check the overall sales of all products to all clients for each month of the year
- do the same for a particular client or for an individual machine
- do the same but for each year

I have done all of this in a VBA Excel based program but I was hoping to change the program to be access based instead of excel based, since this would make the data more centralized and easier to maintain, backup, check, and update.

So if anyone can post any hints or suggestion about how I should build my tables, the usability of quarries, and especially the construction of the forms I would very much thank you for that, since these are my first days getting to know access and I am absolutely confused with it, all the language you are supposed to put into text boxes, combo boxes etc....

Also if anyone knows of any good links to some online tutorials would be great, since most for the tutorials I found on a search was for constructing a for or a query using the wizard, but with no real discussion of how to bound the data to certain fields etc.

Forms :: Creating Form To Update Table

I've got two tables - one that works like a cypher and one with all my records.

I have 2 queries. One that is a simple query that extracts data that is not so user-friendly and puts it into a user-friendly format. The Other query is for any records that the first query excludes because the new combination of data (lets just call it a code) is not in the cypher table, but needs to be added.

How do a create a form that will show the records in the 'excluded records' query and allow me to select from a drop-down list a specific set of categories to update the cypher table ?

Example :

Record Table: Cypher Table:

Ford Focus = Sedan
Ford F-150 = Truck
Ford Freestyle = Wagon
Ford Escape = SUV

Now a new model comes in, a Ford Edge which is an SUV but is not in my cypher table.

I have the query to pull in the excluded Ford Edge, but I want a form to show "Ford Edge" in the first column and be able to select from a drop-down list "SUV", and either automatically update my cypher table or require me to press a button to update the table (whichever is easier).

Forms :: Creating Form With Two Option Buttons?

I am doing a worksheet for college and have been asked to create option groups on a form, but I cannot work out how to do this.

The screenshot shows what I have to do but I cannot get the option group wizard to open.

When creating my form based on the design in the screenshot I dragged the Rate field onto the design view sheet but it has only one option button connected to it, I need to add another one that will be connected to the same field and am not sure how to do it. I did try adding another option button from the control bar but I am not sure if is connected to the same field with the correct yes/no properties.

I have a form with a subform. The form shows an invoice and the subform the items to be invoiced. On this form I want to have a button that creates a credit of this full invoice.

My question is now how to add the existing invoice and details again to the same invoice table (query) and same details table (query).After clicking this button in the two tables should be the original invoice/details and its credit.

So, I have a form with 4 combo boxes and 1 field for a date.

I'd like to be able to choose an option from one or more comboboxes and create a report of all of the records matching those criteria.

Will this require VBA Coding or can I do this without it? I don't know VBA

I know I will probably have to use Queries and the Like criteria but I'm not sure where to begin and how to do it.

I am trying to create an input form for input to tables.There is a main TblContacts table with fields such as: LastName, FirstName, Address, etc. There are also ID fields for the Company and Country and joins to the Company and Country tables, each with just ID and name fields.I want to have all the fields from the TblContacts table and the Name fields from the Company and Country tables on the form. I want to be able to select the Name fields from the Company and Country tables from combo boxes and for these also to populate the Company and Country ID fields (from the TblContacts table).

To create the form, I selected Create Form whilst the TblContacts was open. Then, I added the combo boxes pulling the names from the Company and Country tables.My problem is that the selection of the Company and Country names above is NOT populating the Company and Country ID fields on the form (taken from the TblContacts table. I have checked in relationships that the joins have been created.

Forms :: Creating Auto-Look On Datasheet Form

I am creating a database that has a transport aspect to it.

Basically, I have a table with the list of buses, and tables for routes plied by each of the buses.

What I would like to do is that on a datasheet form, I would wish that if at the point of entering data, the data entry person selects Bus Number 1, then in the next field where the route goes, ONLY the options for the routes that this bus plies show up as what has to be selected from the look-up menu that appears. The same for the other buses and routes. Is this possible?
