Jun 29, 2014

tblUserSecurity_Sec
userID is the UserName.
Field (Active) Data Type is Number, Field Size is Integer
CheckBox is (chkactive)
If DLookup("[Active]", "tblUserSecurity_Sec") = -1 And [userID] = (Me.txtUserID) Then
Me.chkactive = -1
End If

How do you update table with unbound checkbox? I'd like to add basic yes/no, true/false on update. Currently I'm using a workaround like this
Code:
If Me.chkInkt = True Then
status = "true"
Else
status = "false"
End If
Which is ok if there's one of these, but sometimes I have more...

I have a text box on a form, currently it performs a dlookup for me. I want to change it so that it only performs the Dlookup if a checkbox is checked, but otherwise will display the text that's in an unbound text box.
Not 100% this is even possible, but hoping so. So far I have in the textbook:
=IIf([CHECKBOX]=0,DLookUp("TABLE","FIELD","ID = " & [Text57] & ""),[TEXTBOX])
The dlookup works fine by itself, it's just making it conditional that's causing me problems. I know it could just be a small problem with the way I've written it, or it could be a bigger thing with me not understanding the way IIF works.

I need to add an additional filter to my unbound form and can't seem to get the syntax right -
I have a text field in my form "[B Style]" that has either a "Y" or "N"
I want to add a checkbox on my main form where, if checkbox=True then [B Style]="Y"
Private Sub ckBStyle_Click()
Dim stFilter As String
Dim stDocName As String
stDocName = "Modify_OpenItems"
If Me.ckBStyle.Value = True Then
DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , ("[B Style]" = "Y")
Else: DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName
End If
End Sub
stDocName is opening but is completely blank.
Incorrect syntax?

I'm relatively new to Access 2010. I have an excel spreadsheet that I've converted into an access table for the purposes of creating a user friendly form for the end user to search for relevant criteria to retrieve a list of records that fit the requests. There are two main search functions: unbound keyword search (90+ keywords), and either a series of checkboxes or one list box that lists specific countries/regions matched in a column (columns, as I will get to shortly). The region selection is bound by a selection of 15 countries.
The key is each record can correspond to more than one country. This, one record can have "Belgium, Germany, brazil" and the next record can just have "brazil". Thus if someone selects brazil, the query must retrieve the Belgium Germany brazil record in addition to the record that covers just brazil. I've tried to do this with a concatenated column that list all countries and a text box search, I've tried to do this with individual checkbox columns for each country with checkboxes in the search form...and I can't get it to work. I don't fully understand the criteria to set for checkboxes or list boxes. What would be the best way to build this form, an how?

I have a table that consist of pricing for different types of products:
Table name: Costs
ID TYPE EastNew EastRenew WestNew WestRenew
1 500 4100 1000 4400 900
2 501 4100 1000 4400 900
3 600 3400 900 4600 1200
4 700 3700 1300 4900 3300
I have a form that consist of many fields that the user needs to manually input data. 3 fields on that form are the criteria i need to determine which pricing to use back on the table. The first field, which name is LTYPE, is a combobox that the user needs to choose as its type (i.e 500,501,600,700). The second field, which name is EastCoast, is a checkbox (Yes/No) that tells me if it's East Coast (East = yes and West = No). The third field, which name is NewRenewal, is a combobox that the user chooses NEW or Renewal).
Example 1, if the user chooses type 501, checkbox is YES for East, Product is NEW. Then the pricing is $4,100
Example 2, if the user chooses type 700, checkbox is unchecked for NO (which is West), Product is Renewal. Then pricing is $3,300
I would like the unbound field to auto determine the pricing based on the 3 criterias chosen. I read around the forums that Dlookup would be the function for this, however, i tried many times but it did not work.

Hi i have a shared database and have a form with a string of records. Each record has its own unbound checkbox and I want to make it so you can select multiple records, then be able to hit a button on the top of the form to edit certain fields of the records selected. Please keep in mind that this is shared by 10 users, therefore a linked yes/no field would cause problems between the users.

I'm trying to find a code that will allow me to check a value of a yes/no checkbox based on a username.
What I want to happpen is:
1. The code looks to see if the username that is entered in "txtUsername" field on the form matches the "empUsername" value on the table "tblUsers."
2. If there is a match, I want it to look at the value for the field "Admin" on "tblUsers" to see if the value is checked as true.
3. If the value is true, I want it to open a specific form "frmAdmin." If it is false, I want it to open a form "frmMain."
VBA codes not recognizing the Admin field and instead taking all users into the frmMain.

I am running in to a brick wall with this. I have an unbound text box with the control source set to =IIF([text42]=0,0,[text42]/[text44])*100 and in continues to return a #name? error.
I am not sure how to get this expression to work. I have even tried to put =[text42]/[text44] and I still get the #name? error.

I downloaded Checkbox open form.zip from this site. It uses option group for the checkboxes
It runs perfectly when I double click in access but i would like to use this in vba when called from another form. When i put the code in and try to run it I get the error:
Compile Error
Method or data member not found
It is referring to .Frame8
Here is the code I used:
DoCmd.OpenForm "Mainform", acNormal
Select Case Me.Frame8
Case 1
Open Form 1
Case 2
Open Form 2
Case 3
Open Form 3
Case Else
MsgBox "You did not make a selection"
End Select

I use a form for changing data. So when the user selects a record from a listbox I fill all fields of the form with the content relating to the selected line in the box. Nearly everything runs as wished.
All updates take place immediately but the Boolean field does not update or better it updates only after I move the cursor over it. Then it is correct. To make it clear, I do not need to press a button or click, I only move the cursor over the boolean checkbox.
I access VBA after clicking the line in the listbox and use the dlookup command to get the right values. Do I need something like a requery for a boolean field ?

I have a continuous form that has several checkboxes in it. Only one is initially enabled and I want the first to impact if the others are enabled, but only in the currently selected record.
I tried VBA but quickly found that this enables/disables the checkboxes in ALL of the records. Next I found out about conditional formatting--which does exactly what I want, but only works on text boxes and combo lists.
Is there any way that conditional formatting can be used to impact (vs. be impacted by) a checkbox?

I have a subform in datasheet view. In the main form I have various combo boxes to filter the data in the subform. I want to be able to check off the checkbox in the subform then filter all records that are checked, however, I am not able to check any of the checkboxes when I'm in my main form.
Example:
Sales Region, Order Date, are two fields
I can go in and select "north", "5/20/2013" then filter and let's say I get 55 records
So within the north region on 5/20/2013 I only want to select 5 of the 55 records by checking them off in the subform then in the main form I would drop down the unbound combo box to 'yes' and it would give me all records in the 'north' region with an order date of '5/20/2013' that I checked which should be 5 in this case. But, it won't let me check the box in the subform.

1. In a form that I have created, I have a checkbox that I want to have checked when the form (ticket) that was filled out has been completed by our company. I want the checkbox to only be accessed by us. How do I achieve this to only certain users have access to check that box?
2. I have a main screen that the form is able to be accessed by. In that home screen I have a query that shows what tickets have not been completed (checked). How do I get those tickets that have been checked, to not show up on that screen?

I'm having a hard time with this (what I thought) was a simple filter. I have an unbound checkbox (chkFlag) and an unbound text box (txtfilter). The filter was working fine till I decided to also try to filter on the checkbox.
I'm trying to filter records that either have either a check in the [Flag] field or have some part of the text in various other fields. The problem is I can get the records to filter if the checkbox is checked or on text in the various fields, but not both. I've tried using AND and OR, but it's not working.
Code:
Me.RecordSource = "SELECT * from tblContacts; "
'-------------------
strWhere = ""
[Code]....

I am new to access forms. I am trying to use the 2 checkboxs for my make table query.
Future cost checkbox and marginal cost checkbox.
If future cost is checked, then I want 00 as criteria for the field cost type in the query, if marginal is checked then 01. If both checked, then I want both.
Seems like a iif statement is not working in my query. I am trying to create an event now but I do not understand the VB codes.

I am trying to write an IF statement as a macro on the OnClick property of a checkbox and can't get it to work. Basically, if the checkbox is checked (for Yes) I want it to open another form. (The checkbox is a field on a subform on a form).
I haven't even gotten this far yet, but I would also like the IF statement to include an AND somehow....in other words I want the IF statement to basically say if the box is checked for yes AND the offer status field ="Accepted", then open another form. If either is False, then I don't want it to do anything except display a message box saying they can't initiate a contract is both conditions aren't true.

Is it possible to have a control with the appearance of a button (clicked or unclicked) but with the characteristics of a checkbox (can only hold a true or false value)?
Like the toggle button in an option group (i.e. On/Yes/True shows as a sunken / depressed button, Off/No/False shows as a raised / unpressed button)
I can't use an option group because I only want one button - which will either be on or off / clicked or unclicked based on the value it's bound to (a Yes/No field)
Is this possible?

I need to archive some data in a table with a checkbox on a form. I have tenants table & property tables. Sometimes tenants move out & new move in but i don't want to delete information from old tenant. But i can't have duplicate property id's assigned to different tenants.
So I made a checkbox on the tenants form that sets the tenant to active or inactive with a status column in the tenant table. how do i delete only the property ID so i don't have duplicates when the new tenant moves in?

Code:
Private Sub chkHideComplete_AfterUpdate()
On Error Resume Next

I have several forms that each has a dozen or more checkboxes, true/false. I want to be able to change the background color of the label of each checkbox depending on if the checkbox is true or false. I have used the following code which works great:
If Me.A = True Then
Me.lblA.BackColor = vbYellow
Me.lblA.BackStyle = 1
Me.lblA.ForeColor = vbRed
Else
Me.lblA.BackColor = vbWhite
Me.lblA.ForeColor = vbBlack
End If
Me.A refers to T/F checkbox A and Me.lblA refers to its label. This is repeated for each of the checkbox controls. If the control is [B], then its label is lblB. I have used this in the form OnCurrent event and the checkbox control OnUpdate event. I was wondering if I could use the tag property to this, saving me writing countless lines of code and having the OnCurrent event of each of the forms so long and cumbersome. And I do know that I can use conditional formatting to do this, but I would prefer not to use that method. Is there any way to do this using the tag property and not so many lines of code?
