I have been fighting a problem with sorting the data in a subform that is in a datasheet. It is sorting the data automatically so the entries are not in the original order. Is there a way to disable the feature so that when I put data into the datasheet it will appear in the same order that it was originally.
I would like to know if it's possible to open an specific subform inside a navigation form using an event.
I also need to to this using macros ( really can't use vba in this project =/)
Form example:
the main form has "nav_opt1", "nav_opt2", "nav_opt3"
By double clicking a record in "nav_opt1", it will open "nav_opt2" with some filters (but all in the same window), as if I was just browsing through the navigation forms usually.
I have a master form named frmCustomer. I then have a set of tabs (not the navigation tabs) embedded within frmCustomer. The tabs are Invoice (frmInvoice), Contacts *frmContacts), Notes (frmNotes) and Orders (frmOrders). All form are Single Form. There is another form named frmInv that displays an invoice in a formatted manner. frmINV gets its data from a q1uery called InvQ.
It has a criteria that reads [Forms}![frmInvoice]![Invoice_ID]. I placed a button on frmInvoice that calls frmInv. If I run frmInvoice separately outside the tab the correct invoice displays. If I click the buttom from within the tab I am asked to enter the vale of [Forms}![frmInvoice]![Invoice_ID]. How do I call the frmInv form from the tab?
I have a form with a list box. This list box has a row source that I've set as a query for five different fields with a where clause. This where clause should pick up a value that is already within the form. And this is where I think it's going wrong, because if returns no results, but if I set it to point at the same value from another form (previous to this one, it does work). So there is something about the order or something so that this variable isn't passed to my listbox when it executes.
So, my list box has: select ID, title from table where ID = [Forms]![CurrentFormName]![ID]
and it doesn't work. However if I add a text field and set that to point at =[ID] then this does display the ID. And if I amend my query to point at this text field using the same convention above, that doesn't work either.
I presume I am mis-referencing, or there is something in the order that the listbox loads and it does this before the ID is set?
Form_A (main form for the application - should always be open) Form_B (always open, but sometimes has visibility set to false) Form_C (opens from button on Form_B)
When I press the button on Form_B, the only code behind it is DoCmd.OpenForm "Form_C". This seems to hide Form_B, and open Form_C behind Form_A (which is the main form of the application) inside of an Access window.
I would like Form_C to open in front of Form_B. I suspect that I set up the form incorrectly or something when I created it, and it is therefore opening inside an Access window.
I'm having a problem with the syntax of a recordset of a Datasheet inside a subform which is also inside a Main Form.
Main Form - frm_1_0_LMS Subform - frm_1_4_0_TeamApprovals Subform(Datasheet) - frm_1_4_1_TeamApprovalsList
Here is my code:
Code:
Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Set rs = Forms!frm_1_0_LMS.frm_1_4_0_TeamApprovals.frm_1_4_1_TeamApprovalsList.Form.Recordset If Not (rs.EOF And rs.BOF) Then Forms!frm_1_4_2_ApproveDeclineUserLeave.Controls("lblFiledDateLeave").Caption = rs!Leave_Date End If
I am getting this error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Anyway, I have a form that opens in datasheet view. It displays company names that exist on a client table based on a "Like" criteria the user typed into a text box. They type the word "network" in the text box, click search and a datasheet opens that has all companies that have "network" somewhere in the title. That's it. Works perfectly. We'll call this datasheet view form result "Test Query Form."
I have a second form that currently allows users to select a company from a drop down box and then populates the rest of the form with data from a table for that company. Again, works perfectly. We'll call this form "Existing Info."
I want to make a change to this second form. Rather than allow a drop down combo box for selection of the company, I want the "Test Query Form" to open the "Existing Info" form and automatically populate the form based on the company that the user double clicks on in the "Test Query Form." For instance, if I type in "network" and clicked search and got three companies with the word "network" in the company name, I want the user to double click on the second company name and have the "Existing Info" form open up with that second company on it and all the info populated for that second company.
I know this needs to be VBA code on the dblClick command for the company name cell on the "Test Query Form" but I can't quite get it to push the company name through to the "Existing Info" form.
I am new to access web databases (access 2010). I have a "web datasheet form" that shows a query of all the projects in my database (fields are ProjectID, ProjectName, Assignedto)
The assignedTo field has been populated with the sharepoint user name.I now want to automatically filter this form to only show the projects for the currentwebUser? ie. I don't want the user to have to select their name from a dropdown.Do I do it on the query or on the from that loads.?
I have a form that shows details of a record. I have a command button to open associated records in another form in DS view. My code will open the DS and show all records or filtered to specific record.
What I would like to do is use code on command button to open DS view and simply highlight (find) the record that was being viewed in the first form.
Main Form = frmBroachBase DS Form = frmBroachBaseDS
Associated fields on both forms are - [AutoID], [BroachID] - that can be used to link the two forms.
I have a continuous form that I need to appear as a datasheet (one record per row). The data fields are "locked" to the left edge of the form. How do I free them for realignment inot a row (instead of a stack)?
I'm using a datasheet that can be filtered for certain fields. I have a macro that opens a form to the record that was selected (aka "current") in the datasheet. It filters this opened form to "1 of 1" which makes sense. How would I go about filtering that form for all of the records left (after filtering) in the datasheet?
I hate macros, but I'm doing client-specific work. The primary key is a field (autonumber) called "ListingNumber".
I have a form in datasheet view, and I am wondering if it's possible to specify "pages" with a set amount of records per page.Think like the search results of Google, you get a huge number of results, but only so many are displayed per page.
I am creating a database that has a transport aspect to it.
Basically, I have a table with the list of buses, and tables for routes plied by each of the buses.
What I would like to do is that on a datasheet form, I would wish that if at the point of entering data, the data entry person selects Bus Number 1, then in the next field where the route goes, ONLY the options for the routes that this bus plies show up as what has to be selected from the look-up menu that appears. The same for the other buses and routes. Is this possible?
I've created a Navigation Form and one of my tabs brings up another form bla bla but what I want is to bring this form up in datasheet view...is there a setting for this or due I have to create a query to get the look that I want?...
The Form that I attached to the tab when opening it up by itself (out of the Nav form) comes up in a datasheet type format, and when I open it up in design view it changes from the datasheet type format to texts boxes stacked on top of each other. This is also how it opens up in the Nav form...
Does it have to do with how the form I'm putting in the nav form was created?...style wise...
I have a form with a query as rowsource. When I open the form in data sheet view form header is not showing(Though it is visible in form view). Is it possible to show the form header in datasheet view?
I'm using a split form with the datasheet on the left.
When I use the 'Find' in the Navigation buttons at the bottom of the form, it refuse to find text in a particular text box.
The text box is a memo field and is enabled.
Example:
I have text in the memo field which is a title of an episode - "The Outcast."
When I start typing "the" it finds this text in the memo field. But when I type the entire title it the finds the text in another field. ie "out."
I've tried the 3 different Search setting in options. When I use the Find command from the ribbon it work ok as long as I select the text box to search in first.
I am pretty new to VBA and I am having the same problem of hiding and un-hiding columns on a datasheet of a split form. I am building a system that will be used in front of customer and therefore wish to hide columns that contain cost sensitive data. The same forms need to be able to show the Sales Rep the hidden columns simply by ticking a box. Basically a toggle on and off of hidden columns.
I have been playing around with the code below (which i found in another forum) to hide the Field called COO when I click the tick box called chkHIdeFields check box. This works on a Single form but not on a datasheet of a split form.
Private Sub chkHideFields_Click() ' Note: vbTrue = -1 If Me.chkHideFields = vbTrue Then Me.COO.Visible = True Else: Me.COO.Visible = False End If End Sub
I have been able to hide the column of my split form by using the ColumnHidden property of the On Load event just as a proof of concept that the ColumnHidden property actually works to hide a column, which it does. This is the code that im using to hide the column called COO.
Me.COO.ColumnHidden = True
However if I then set it to = False and then close and open the form, it doesn't unhide the column. the only way I can unhide the column is to do it from the Form view via the un-hide dialogue pop up box.
I have two issues here, the first one is getting the form to recognize when to hide and when to show the column of the datasheet on the split form and the second is to get the code to for the check box method.
Lastly once I get it working for 1 field I need to be able to define a list of 7 or 8 other fields all at the same time.
I am needing to design a form that allows a user to add or overwrite a number of records by copying and pasting the information from an Excel Spreadsheet, however one of the problems is that the information being sent has times stored as text - so, for 04:45, it is simply stored as 0445 on the spreadsheet.
Is there a way to have these autocorrect once pasted into the datasheet? Also, is there a way to make a datasheet form that copies a number of records into itself depending on a user selection? The basics of what I am trying to achieve is:
I have a number of services that operate on a number of services (public transport), each vehicle has a unique identifier (Bonnet), and each place in the schedule has a unique identifier (RunNo); there are different schedules for different day types (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday to Thursday, Friday and so on), and the times that each RunNo goes out and comes in differs depending on the day type.
At the moment, I have a table which has the following fields:
ID (Autonumber, PK) DayType Route RunNumber TimeOut TimeIn
My idea/hope is that a user will be able to open a vehicle allocation datasheet for the day, select the day type (lets say, Saturday) which will then populate the relevant number of rows with the schedule information (looking at a Saturday, that would be 128 rows), and then a blank column to add to the records a vehicle ID that is being used for each RunNo for the day.
Now, on top of all this, I need to also cater for vehicles being substituted during the course of the day - - - if one breaks down, it will have to be de-allocated from the list (so presumably by changing the TimeIn to the current/actual time rather than the scheduled time) and the user will need to be allowed to add a further row to show which vehicle was used next against that RunNo.
Just to further complicate things, there is quite a number of vehicles that will have a time in which is in the following day (ie after midnight) - whilst this isn't a problem in storing the times, I also want this table to be looked up to determine whether a vehicle is currently allocated or not.
The fields for the AllocatedVehicles table are:
ID (Autonumber, PK) RunNumber Bonnet Number DateOfService TimeOut TimeIn
It is hope that all of these with the exception of Bonnet Number can be populated by selecting the day type?
Is there any possibility to have the application title bar on data sheet view form? I need it to close the form and return to main switchboard using the Close button.
Have created a form to display/change table info in Datasheet View and added the form to a switchboard. When selected from switchboard, it displays a single record. When executed from the Forms (objects), it displays in Datasheet view.? How can I get it to display in Datasheet View from Switchboard?
I am trying loop through a datasheet so that I can copy the contents of one field into another form.
I have tried using the bellow code to do this on a button click event. However when i run it I get an error telling me that the object doesn't support this property or method. Im not quite sure what this means.
Dim rst As DAO.Recordset Set rst = Forms![Roll Out - Site Form]![Roll Out - Sign items pick list].RecordsetClone Do Until rst.EOF [Roll Out - Sign items added].Form![Code] = [Roll Out - Sign items pick list].[Form]![Item Category]
When you open a form in datasheet view, the default ribbon is of course the "Datasheet" tab. I would rather have the "Home" tab ribbon open up, because I have one field in this form set up as hyperlinks to open another form, so the filter and search buttons would be more useful to the user. I'd rather not go to the trouble to create a custom ribbon, so is there anyway to set the default ribbon tab to "Home" when you load the form? There is a ribbon property for the form, but I don't know the reference name for the tab.
