I am running Access 2010. I have added the following to the "On Open" event on my main form:
Code:
Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer)
DoCmd.ShowToolbar "Ribbon", acToolbarNo
DoCmd.NavigateTo "acNavigationCategoryObjectType"
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdWindowHide
Me.ShortcutMenu = False
End Sub
My main form (frmMain) is displayed when the database opens. As you can see, I am hiding the ribbon and the navigation pane from users. I also want to prevent users from right clicking on the form and opening it in Design view - trying to prevent any monkey business. However, the line:Me. ShortcutMenu = False
is not preventing users from right clicking on the form and getting the shortcut menu and going into Design view.If I go to Options and uncheck: "Allow Default Shortcut Menus" then I lose the ability to print reports because I have the ribbon hidden and this will not allow right click on reports.Converting to .accde is not an option at this time.
I would like to disable the shortcut, CTRL - which allows a user to delete a record. A user accidentally deleted a record while typing in an email address that had an underscore in the email address. While trying to type it she must have hit the CTRL key instead of the Shift key follow by the -. She noticed the delete confirmation, but not thinking, pressed enter and thus confirmed the deletion of the record.
Other than telling her to pay more attention, how can I disable the shortcut in Access 2013?I tried using the Application.OnKey "^-", "" but I continue getting the error method or data member can not be found
Is there a keyboard shortcut that simulates the double click.
In my Sectionfrm I have a command button that opens my Ordersfrm. Because I use the Ordersfrm for reasons not always associated with the Sectionfrm I do not automatically populate the SectionID (textbox) in the Ordersfrm with the SectionID from the Sectionfrm.
When I want to link an order to a (building) section I double click the SectionID field in the Ordersfrm which in turn runs VBA code that copies the SectionID from the Sectionfrm to the Ordersfrm.
As I tab through my form I find it annoying to move away from my keyboard to the mouse to double click the SectionID, so the question is:
Is there a keyboard shortcut that simulates the double click to run the VBA code?
how I can have a shortcut option when right click on each item on the list box. So I got my answer with below code that opens another form "frmshortcut" with a listbox inside that shows list of options like "new task" , "edit item" . Now my problem is (like attached picture) the shortcut list (frmshortcut) will be open in another place when I right click the mouse, it is far from location of click. Also it shows some default in access when I right click in the listbox ("subform", "cut", "copy"), actually I do not like it shows these, just I like it shows shortcut list I have defined by the list box.
Private Sub ItemList_MouseDown(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single) Const RIGHTBUTTON = 2 If Button = RIGHTBUTTON Then DoCmd.OpenForm "frmshortcut" ' DoCmd.OpenForm "frmshortcut", acNormal, , , , acDialog Forms!frmshortcut!txtparameter = Me.ItemList.Value End If End Sub
how to customize my right click "Short-cut" menu in Access 2010. I need a right click menu with ONLY the "Print" and "Print Preview" options for my reports and I would like to disable right click in all other objects.
Hi, Im currently creating a database for an A-Level project. I am required to create a database for a real company. They have asked me to stop the right click function on forms. I have disabled almost every feature on the forms, however i cannot find a way to disable right click. Please help.
I have a fully functioning frmLogin that appears when the database opens. After correctly logging in, it takes you to the appropriate switchboard. The problem is that I set autokeys to allow F1 to automatically open the switchboard, but I don't want users to hit this to bypass my login screen. The reason for keeping the switchboard open is to force the user to close the database using the switchboard(eventually I want to limit the user to only the forms that I have created in a split database).
My other option that I tried first was writing a module that would detect when all forms are closed, then open the switchboard. But I kept getting Error91 and got frustrated/stopped attempting this method. Using the hotkey gives the user a similar functionality, but less conveniently so(since its not an automated process, etc.).
In A2007 if you disable the Navigation Buttons on the form the Me.RecordCount will be set to 1 when the form opens ? I replace the Nav buttons with my own set but my "Go Next" button will not work untill I hit "Go to Last". This apparently restores the recordset count to the correct number of records.
I am asked to create a checklist for a number of tasks to be executed in a particular shift. However in some tasks can be skipped. There are three shifts per day.
To accomplish this i have created a continious form with a number of checkboxes per task which represent the days of the week. The tasks itself are stored in a seperate table with a checkbox per shift (task settings). If the tasks must be performed in a particular shift, the checkbox is activated (= true).
Goal here is, if a task doesn't have to be executed in a shift the task should not be visible on the continious form. The recordsource of the continuous form is a query, which contains a join between the table with the task settings and the table with the tasks performed.
I have placed some code to perform the task in the form's current event
In the continuous form current event I have placed for every checkbox the following code:
Private Sub Form_Current() If Me. PerformTaskShift.Value = True Then Me.MaandagOchtend.Enabled = False End If End Sub
However when i execute the code and load the form, not only the checkbox in the row mentioned are set invisible, all the rows are. Is there any way to set only the checkboxes on the rows mentioned invisible, in stead of all rows?
I have a form called PAF_Assignment and on this form there are many textboxes for editing. After all fields are entered, the user clicks on a button and this button populates the PAF_Issued_Date field with the actual date.
Then I want to disable (enable=False) all fields on this form once there is a date on PAF_Issued_Date as I don't want any user to make any changes after submitting it, although the user would still be able to read the information submitted.
I have tried the following...
PAF_Assignment Form AfterUpdate Event If Me.PAF_Issued_Date=Not null Then Me.FieldName1.Enabled=False Me.FieldName2.Enabled=False Me.FieldName3.Enabled=False
[Code] ......
However this is not working, there is no error message or anything but the fields remain enabled with the date...
Basically I want to put a code in the "on load" event of a form that enables or disables navigation buttons based on a value in a table (the table has 1 record and 1 column).
So if the value is "A", I want to hide navigation buttons on load; if it is "B", I want to show navigation buttons on load.
I know I can set this property in each form, but I have a number of forms that I want to configure at the same time.
My problem is that I don't know how to reference the value in the table.
I am trying to create a proposal log for my company to make things easier to track. I have made a multiple items form to list the proposals. I want to be able to double click the record to open up another form (that i have already created) that shows the information from the proposal table and the proposal details table. So.....
I want to double click the field named "Proposal Name" and have it open up to form i have called "proposals details form".
I need created a form frmFlight this form has two fields called DEP and ARR what I need is when the users types the 3 letter code in the DEP or ARR field if these do not match the any records in field AirportCode in the table tblAirport will highlite a error. Also I need to double click on the field DEP or ARR in the frmFlight and open the frmAirport with the specific record. Example if one of the records contain LCY by double clicking it will open the form frmAirport displaying the LCY record.
I am looking for updating one record in a table from data on a form.
I have a table called ctntbl with fields: Item, Credit_Amt, and Incd_Num.
I also have a non linked form from which I want to make changes to one specific item in the ctntbl table. The user will enter a number in field FRM_CR_INC which links one specific record in table ctntbl matching field Incd_Num. Then they will enter data in FRM_CR_AMT which I am needing to update just that one record in the table field Credit_Amt with the data in FRM_CR_AMT.
Here is my code:
DoCmd.RunSQL "Update ctntbl set credit_Amt = " & Me!FRM_CR_AMT & " Where Incd_Num = " & Form![FRM_CR_INC]
I am getting a data type mis match error. Cant understand where error is coming from. All fields in table and form are text fields.
I have a continuous form with a button 'Cmd1' & a textbox 'txtMail' which is set to visible no.
When the user clicks Cmd1 - then txtMail becomes visible.
I can do it using vba on the buttons click event but when it executes txtMail for all the records become visible.
How do I use a button's click event on the form's current record - Private Sub Form_Current() so that when the user clicks Cmd1 on the current record only txtMail for that record becomes visible.
Form 1 - Data entry for a new project Form 2 - Data entry for a task associated with the project in the Form 1
Button on form 1 that opens Form 2.
What I am trying to do:
Use a combobox on Form Two to choose the Project entered into Form 1, so I can capture the Form1 PK as a FK on Form 2.
Here is the problem:
Refreshing the record on the button click so that the new option entered into Form 1 shows up in the combo box on Form 2.
Full disclosure: I'm not much good at VBA so I have been trying to do this by customizing the button macro. I have tried Refresh, and Requery, but I can't seem to get it to update the list in the combo box.
2 questions:
1. How can I get this accomplished? 2. Is there a better way to get this data into the table than what I am trying to do?
In ACC2010: A subform has a control for date of birth with an AfterUpdate Event. When the date picker is used to populate the control the user must either click outside the control or press the tab key to trigger the control's AfterUpdate event. This event runs some calculations, the results of which are stored in a separate table. When the calculations are finished and focus returns to the form, the form's state depends on whether a keypress or a mouse click was used to trigger the event.
The form's state is indicated by whether calculated controls on the form are empty - mouse clicks leave contents as before the event, tab causes the contents to disappear. In addition, if a keypress is used the user must click twice to trigger the form's BeforeUpdate event. A single click is required to trigger that event if a mouse click occurred after using the date picker.
How to get thekeypress to behave the same as a mouse click?
