I have a main form and a several subforms. The main form displays potential customer data and 1 of the subforms displays the advertisement that prompted that customer to call. 1 of the Advertisements is newspaper ads and for that one we want to track which newspaper.

The subform has 3 pieces of data. The advertisement type, advertisement date and a hidden field for the customer ID to link those to the appropriate customer. There is also a requirement for a field for the advertisement source for newspaper ads.

I have a combo box that gets the advtype Then another combo box that gets the adv date the issue I'm having is I also need the source and If I put it in the combo box it only displays when that combobox has the focus otherwise only the date shows. If I try to use a textbox to display the data I can only get the firstcolumn in the combobox and not the column I want. If I use the same query the combobox uses but only having the source in the select criteria I get the same data for every record. Since there are multiple advertisements and a customer could reply to any of them or all of them.

Forms :: How To Get Third Combobox To Display Its Contents

I have a requirement that will need three cascading combo boxes - the second box should only display the contents that match or are relevant to the first combo box, etc.The title of the YouTube video is:

It seems the first and second combo boxes cascade and works fine. However, the third combo box remains blank after the second combobox selection has been made.

I have three tables: Customer, CustomerSubOrg, and PORs. I have setup lookup fields that are using Primary keys for two of the tables (CustomerSubOrg and PORs). However, I ensured that the primary key fields display as the "Names" of each instead of the numbers. I also ensured I went back and changed their data type to "Text" instead of "Number" so the text appears (which seems to have worked for box #2).

How to get the third combobox to display its contents? I've attached some additional screen shots below. I know the problem is within the second combobox -- perhaps the query needs some adjustment?Unfortunately I cannot attach images yet since I am now. But I basically created two queries and used them each for the second and third combobox.The comboboxes on the form:

Customer
Sub Organization
POR

The Suborg query looks like this:

Second Column:

Why wont the contents from the third combobox appear?

Forms :: Display TextBox Value Based On Combobox Selections

I have a form that has 3 combo boxes and a text box that I want to be a lookup. I have a little experience with DLookUp, but I do not think that will work here. The three combo boxes are linked to queries, and Tables. The first combo box is for choosing "Precious" or "Base" metals. The second combo box is filtered from the first and displays the "Metal Names". The third combo box is to choose a "Metal Market". There are currently four options for that. I want the text box to display the "Metal Market Price" based on the second and third combo box selections.

Forms :: ComboBox Doesn't Display Some Values - Returning Blank

In a form used to record a sale for a company we have a dropdown box with the contact names for that company and when one is selected it populates other boxes like phone number etc however the combobox brings up all possible contacts but when some of them are selected all the boxes return blank, including the combobox, whereas most of the contacts work fine.

The SQL used for the combobox is as follows..

My db has multiple linked tables. As time passes and work on a project continues data needs to be added to a separate table that is linked to the first table to be populated.

i.e., Initial design data is entered first, when drilling is complete more data is added to a linked table, when drilling is surveyed yet more data is added to the second table.

What I want to be able to do is to query for a particular set of existing design data, display this on a form and on the same line enable data entry to other fields from other tables which are linked to the existing design data.

I'm working on a db that will track students for a summer camp. One of my fields in my student records (CamperInfo) is "School". Currently, the field is set up as a combobox in the CamperInfo Subform in the FamilyInfo form. I would like the combobox to be able to add schools if the school is not listed by a pop-up when the "add school" (or whatever) is selected.

Help With Multicolumn Comboboxes

I created a combobox with 2 columns, and i donīt know how to fill it using code, I tried with :

combobox.AddItem ("table.fields(0) ; table.fields(1)")

also tried

combobox.rowsource

but when I run it, it shows them litteraly and not the value stored in the tables thank you for your help!

Is it possible to populate a single combobox with data from 3 different tables.

I have a table called observations (for observing deer), in that table is a field called Location, I have 3 other tables that list possible locations t_foodplots, t_stands and t_section.

I would like to have a combobox called location on my observations form that will allow me to select the proper location from one of those 3 tables, the choices would be something like this...

Section 1
Section 2
Section 3
Stand 1
Stand 2
Stand 3
Foodplot 1
Foodplot 2
Foodplot 3 etc....

The chosen value would be stored in the t_observations "location" field.

I added code to this database to forward to me info about forms and controls in case they generate errors. Occasionally I get an "error = 0" on this combobox.

Since there are no events attached to this combobox then what could be causing this error?

I'm building a new db for tracking tests/results, using Access 2007.

On this issue, I'm working with 2 tables, Sample and Equipment.

On a form to enter sample info, I have a combo box to select a piece of equipment.

When the equipment is selected, I need to have a sub-form populate with several fields of data from the equipment table, based on the equipment selected.

I'm not trying to save the equipment data again, I just need to display it, based on the equipment the user selects. This is just a kind of second check to remind the user what the equipment he's selected will do.

Hi I really have a problem in MS access.

I created a combo box which as 2 columns, eg Plant ID and Plant name
I need to have the Plant ID on the left and Plant Name on the right which it is at them moment, however....

When I choose an option inthe combo box, it will display the Plant ID number in the textbox because it is on left (its the 1st column in the drop down box)

.... I want it to show the plant name instead, but still have the plant id colun on the left and plant name onthe right when i click the arrow of the drop down box,

sry if its confusing, i need an anwser ASAP, thanks!

I want to reverse the order so I have

Which would give a row source of C1;C2;C3;B1;B2;B3;A1;A2;A3

I have a combobox on a form linked to a table. The format of the column in the table is Yes/No. The form which inputs into the table is also set to Yes/No.

However of the form below, even though the combobox is set to Yes/No, when you open the box it displays as -1 for yes and 0 for no.

How has this happened?

Display data from Query into Form..I am attaching the database dbtest.zip which contains a table, couple of queries and form.I have done what ever settings I could after going thru some tutorials / discussion forums online, but to no avail.

All that I want is, when I open the form "frmtest" in "form view", and select CS in Combo 8, the corresponding fields in the form viz Item name, Sl No and System Name should get updated on the form. I want to view it in "Single Form" format.

I have a form that displays employee details. I've also created a query that calculates the current age of all employees and updates automatically. I've also created a subform that displays the query data.

My question is, how do I get the query data to display on my main form? Can I do it directly from the query or do I have to use the subform? There are multiple columns on the form and I want to add it as a new column that displays the same as the rest but continues to update automatically.

Best way to display "notes: field that gets updated/added to multiple times, in a form. (Access 2007)

I've got a DB to track information about product changes. Each month we have a meeting and discuss problem products. I'm concerned with a notes/comments section. Currently it is a memo field in the source table that can be added to, so the notes are cumulative. But we want to auto-add a date to each new entry (in case the person inputting the data forgets, and so that notes can be sorted by order on a report).

There may be many comments on a certain product or there may be none. Sometimes the note may be very long, other notes on the same product may be very short. I created a new table with a one-to-many relationship to case ID (to link it to the main form), auto-populate a date field, and field for notes in order to link multiple notes to each case (and of course an autonumber PK).

I can put the subform in the original form, but then the note field will be the same size for every note, though notes are not all uniform in size/length, and it ends up taking up a LOT of room on the main form. So I created a button to click to open the subform, but it brings up all records for all cases, not just the currently selected case. Again, have the problem of one uniform field size for all notes, regardless of size/length.

Then I considered a report to view past history (field size can shrink or grow as needed) then a button on the report that opens a form for data entry/entry of new note. But again the report displays all records for all cases, not just the currently selected case.

I use Me.Filter & Me.Filteron to filter the data from the table to display in the form, i used this in On Open event & This is working fine.

But in the filtered form when the user right click and filter some value and unfilter the search (in the bottom of the form next to search (Navigation Button) ) then this shows all the data from the table i.e its not taking the on open filter condition.

I have a form where I am entering orders. For this, there is only 1 item and 1 customer per order. The Order_Table is the 'general' of the form. However, I want a Customer_name dropdown on the form, and return data to 'display' on the form (but capturing and ONLY storing the Customer_no), once the user makes a selection.

Additionally, in the same vein, I want to have an Item_name list, where the user selects one from the listing, and display (again, no edit) the name. Again, only want to store the Customer & Item numbers on the Order table.Here's the 'general' table layout (I've taken out what doesn't matter):
