View RepliesI am relearning Access and having a little difficulty. I am creating a Access database that links tables from an I series system which I have done trouble free. In the database I have pulled up for example a patient demographic file (hospital). I have form frmSearch that prompts the user to enter the medical record number OR they can search by name. I have a query that takes that information then loads a 2nd form to display the query results in a list box. I would like to be able to click on one of the results from the 2nd form to then load another form that will display all of the patient information that was selected. How do you set this up so that with the results shown, I can click on one of them and it will load that patient into another form pulling the rest of his or her information from the table file?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a form with 3 tab controls. Within each tab, there is a bound list box that lists records based on a combo box selection. All list boxes are bound to the same table and records in each tab will be in the same order.
Tab1, listbox1:Field1, Field2, Field3, Field4
Tab2, listbox2, Field1,Field2, Field5, Field6
Tab3, listbox3:Field1, Field2, Field7, Field8,Field9
I would like the same record be selected in each list box within the tabs, e.g. when record #2 is selected on tab1, the same record will be selected on tab2 and tab3, or if I click on tab 2 again and change the selection to record #3, record #3 will be selected on tab1 and tab2.
We have a recent issue on client PC. After application running for a while, all the sudden the calculated field on the form not showing the details, though there is data on the control. After restart the PC, the calculated field display correctly. We guess this may be due to the theme we use.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow to update data from one table to another table using form.
I have data coming from design team in Database 1 and using form i want search data and assign the job to a person and store it in the database with his name. I have to do this because database from design team is read only.
I have two tables (Access 2010). One with a list of names (List1) and another with a very similar list of names (List2), but they differ in very small ways. For example, List1 might have John Smith, and List2 would have Smith, John L.; and Smith, John. List2 also has a unique ID associated with these names that I need to append to List1.
I need to design a form that will allow me to look up names in List1, and have it return all names that are similar in List2. I then need to be able to choose with record in List2 matches with the List1 entry (based on a few other columns in List2, such as birth date) and have the form add that unique ID to the List1 record.
PS: I am using Access 2010
What I want to do is have the SQL printout list all the fields in a table that I have already created. Also how would I enable SQL view? Im new to Access.
Using Windows Vista and Access 2010.
I have a table in my Access 2010 Database with few date/time fields. I have set different formats like Short Time, Medium Time etc. But when I link this table to Sharepoint list, all the date/time fields have been modified to their default format (General Date).
Is there a way we can keep the formats as such even after linked to Sharepoint list? If not, is there a workaround?
I would like to create a multi-select list box for all the records in an access 2010 form.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my form (source tblJobs) i input a contract number from tblContracts. but i would also like it to show the contract address when the contract number is entered. Both fields belong to tblContracts but i only wish to enter the contract number, the address will just be used as a reference as it isnt something i would have to enter again.
So for example
112 - Main Road
If i enter 122 in my ContractNo field i would like it to show the contract address for that specific contract.
Can i do this? If So how?
So I have a combobox in a form that lists the values of a field in a table. The rowsource is this:
Code:
SELECT [Estes Training Modules].[Training Module], [Estes Training Modules].[Period] FROM [Estes Training Modules] ORDER BY [Period];
The problem is that ALL values on that field show up, including repeated values. I only need each different value to show up once. How can I do that?
For example, what I get in the combobox is: Annual, 2-Year, Annual, Annual, 2-Year, 3-Year,...
What I need is: Annual, 2-Year, 3-Year,...
I have a table that has one field and I want to use this field as a query criteria . when i click on CRITERIA & BUILD, Access lets me select the table field and shows [tblBillRun]![Bill_Run] for the criteria but when I click RUN, it prompts me to ENTER PARAMETER VALUE. What am i doing wrong?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo... I have the pivot table with the following columns...
Sum of Numerator, Sum of Denominator, and a computed field for Rate
My Rate calculation is: iif(Denominator = 0, Null, Numerator/Denominator)...
I have at least 15 of these rates (numerator, denominator, rate) on the same report..it works fine, but my business analyst has clarified the Rate requirement that if the denominator is 0 then the Rate should display 0 (instead of Null)..
When I change my Rate computed field to iif(Denominator = 0, 0, Numerator/Denominator) and press the "Change" button all the numerators and denominators on the pivot table are blanked out... I've refreshed the pivot table and everything; but, I can't stop this from happening. why the heck can't Access' pivot table be as robust as Excel's ???
What I would like to do is create a list box that will only display the information from another form that is related to the current form.So I have a form call Equipment Catalog and that form is related to Equipment features 1 to M relationship and the Equipment Features is related to a Features form M to 1.
So what I want to do is display all the related equipment features in a listbox that is related to the current PK of that form.So if there is only one feature on one form the list box will only display that one item however is there is 6 features on another it will display all 6.I have been trying SQL and Queries but I still can't get it to work.
I have a database to track temporary decertification's. I have the expiration and max dates calculated out from the original dates at the top of each box. The temp expiration date is calculated by adding 267 days from the first date . When we enter an extension, the new expiration date is 30 days from the extension date. My question is, how can I make the expiration date update when a new extension is put in.
For ex.
Temp Decert Date: 05 Dec 2014
Temp Decert Extens 1:
Temp Decert Extens 2:
Temp Decert Extens 3:
Temp Experation Date: 31 Aug 2015
Max Temp Date: 04 Dec 2015
how can I make the expiration date update to go 30 days from what is in the extens field 1, 2, and 3 (respectively) instead of 267 days from the original date?
So I want it to look like this after updating a field
Temp Decert Date: 05 Dec 2014
Temp Decert Extens 1: 30 Aug 2015
Temp Decert Extens 2:
Temp Decert Extens 3:
Temp Experation Date: 29 Sep 2015
Max Temp Date: 04 Dec 2015
I have a table with more than a million records. I want to add a new column with date equals to e.g.3/14/2012 for all the records. I am using update query, but it is super slow (taking more than a hour)..is there any other way to do this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using Access 2010.Most of the time a tenant pays his exact rent. When that happens, I currently type in the payment (taken form the Rent field) and date of payment (current date) into a form. The date should not change.
I would like to place a checkbox into the form. If checked, the rent would be entered into the payment field and payment date (current date) would be entered automatically. Otherwise, I would just enter in the payment and date manually.
FIELDS
Rent
Payment
PaymentDate
on form chkPayment
Is it possible to have a field (Color) on a form be set to a combo box. A drop-down box appears with Green, Red, Blue, Yellow, Other. When other is selected a dialog box prompt appears asking the user to enter the color. The response is then what appears in the Color field.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe recently updated to 64 bit Office 2010, however there is a form created by an intern who has since moved on, anyways the form was created in 32 bit. SO hence we cannot open it. We get any error message that it was created in 32 bit and cannot be open in 64 bit Office. I have tried to resaved the form on a different pc with 64 bit office. But it will not allow me to save, possibly because the form is locked down from changes. The file extension is .accde.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a simple data entry form where I can key the "row", "COLUMN", SPACE "a" and space "B" onto an access 2010 table. Is there a way that if I key the same four fields, e.g., A5AB that I get a message back before updating telling me that combination already exists?
I do generate a calculated data field, which in this case would be "a5ab" and which is displayed on report screens. Could the value of this calculated field be stored on the Table and be used to prevent the same value from again be entered on the Table?

I am building a custom Export Wizard to export data to Excel using the Report Wizard for the basic ideas.
All I am trying to do is have a [Back] button on a form to open another form and close the current form.
Private Sub cmdBack_Click()
DoCmd.OpenForm "frm_ExportWizardPage2", , , , , , Nz(Me.OpenArgs)
DoCmd.Close acForm, "frm_ExportWizardPage3"
End Sub
The new form is opening but then the current form is not closing. All forms are the same size, shape and positioned centrally although this should not make any difference.
Could this be anything to do with which form has the focus when I open the new form?
I am very new to Access (I started two weeks ago). One problem I am having is I have a multiselect box on a form in Access 2010 and I want to base the value of a text box on the user's selection. However I would like the textbox to just be based on one of the choices and to allow the user to select any other of the choices along side this selection. How would I input this into the code? The line of code I am interested in looks like:
If Me.Reasons_For_Choosing_Physics.Column(2) = "No other ideas" Then..Could I add something like "No other ideas" + "(*)" to allow other selections alongside "No other ideas"?

During filling a form, I generate a code which should include the ID of this record.
But the ID is not available before update of the form.
If I save the record before all fields mandatory are filled, i get an error of course.
How can I manage this and get the ID "earlier"?
I have a unique "CustomerID" that is an auto number (this is how I link tables, forms, etc.), and "CustomerNumber", "CustomerName", "CustomerSubNumber" that could be null and could have duplicate values.
The first form I have is a Contact Info form where users will enter the contact information such as customer numbers, names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. This then links to an order form. My order form has a place to carry over the "CustomerNumber", "CustomerName", "CustomerSubNumber" values from the ContactInfo table. I would like these fields to automatically populate based on the CustomerID unique number as well as only show the information for that customer ID (including listing out any previous orders).
