So what I've basically got here is a form with 4 combo boxes and a button that when clicked will filter the results of a table (which is a subform/subreport) based on the values inside the combo boxes. So the problem I have is that when I open up the form it displays a fully filled table but I just want to display the row names and a blank table until the filter button is pressed.

In namefield_AfterUpdate, I check for duplicate name entries and notify the user if any are found - they are prompted as to whether the duplicate was accidental or intentional and continue working. This works fine for normal circumstances.
However, if the user updates namefield so that the value is a duplicate of an existing name in the database, but then presses Cancel (or Delete), then the namefield_AfterUpdate is fired and what button they pressed. The button Click code does not run first.
How can I tell if the user updated the name, but then realized they didn't want to save, and then clicked 'Cancel' (or any button) and the code should really skip the duplicate check validations/messages?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a form which displays some product details and a stock level. The subform below it allows entry of a quantity to issue and a control button to run a small macro, write a movement record to a stock movement table and then close the form. This works fine.
But the user can also cause the movement record to be written just by keying in a quantity and tabbing out. If this is done several times it writes several movement records and doesn't close the form. I want to ensure that record is only written when the command button is pressed.
Perhaps there is a more conventional or better way of achieving what I want but I can't think of it.
I use Me.Filter & Me.Filteron to filter the data from the table to display in the form, i used this in On Open event & This is working fine.
But in the filtered form when the user right click and filter some value and unfilter the search (in the bottom of the form next to search (Navigation Button) ) then this shows all the data from the table i.e its not taking the on open filter condition.
I have an option group with 2 buttons in it, yes and no. It is set to default to No, but if someone hits Yes I want it to enable or turn on the next option group. Would just simply changing visible status disable it? Because I have a series of codes set up based on the second option group which read as:

I have a continuous form based on table "INCOMES" that shows all the payments received, which mediums can be (field "PMNT_MEDIUM"):
- check
- transfer
- taxes
- cash
Table "INCOMES" is filled using another form, but in this particular form I just want to show "check", "transfer" and "cash" (not "taxes") so that I can track all the cash incomes.
Note: taxes are loaded because they appear in my invoices and I need them there to reach the invoice total amount.So my form has a search bar which allows me to search by PMNT_MEDIUM listing all "checks", all "cash" or all "transfer". I can also search by payment number (meaning: check number). To that end I have a "search" button that applies the filter. And I have another button that "cleans" the filtering by "putting a "" in the search-bar and then calling the "on click" of the search button".
What I need is, no matter if I click over the "search" or "clean" button, it NEVER shows me the "taxes".Search button, on click code:

I have a form with a control for the user to enter some data and then two command buttons 'OK' and 'Cancel'
For the OnExit event in the control I have a procedure that check the user input and if incorrect, opens a message box with an error message asking the user to correct the data. It then cancels the event so the focus remains in the current control.
However if the user presses the 'Cancel' command button on the form to cancel & close the form, the OnExit event for the current control still fires and asks the user to correct the data.
In my code in the control, how can I recognise that the Cancel command button has been pressed, so I can cancel the OnExit event and close the form?
When user enter the data other than date field or when date field remain empty and user press the Add button, it is giving error.

When I click the filter button I get a blank message box titled 'Microsoft Access" and an OK button, when closed the filter works perfectly.I have checked this procedure in other forms and it works without showing the blank message box.The only difference with this form is that its control source is a union query.
I am trying to add a command button to my main menu to open the contact names as a datasheet, I have changed the properties on the contact names form to datasheet as well as changing the properties on the button to the below:

In a form used to record a sale for a company we have a dropdown box with the contact names for that company and when one is selected it populates other boxes like phone number etc however the combobox brings up all possible contacts but when some of them are selected all the boxes return blank, including the combobox, whereas most of the contacts work fine.

While applying filter in forms, i have 6 fields in the form and i want to display the data even one of the filed is with 0.
I used the below code, but this one display the data where all the fields are 0. I tried or in place of and but still its not working.

I have a form with names in a table layout (continuous form).If the user is on the name field, I'd like it to navigate to the first record that contains first letter of the key pressed. So if a user presses "K", the form will go to the first record that starts with a K.Yes, the names in the form are alphabetical, but in a list with over 100 names, this could speed things up just a bit and save a lot of scrolling and looking.I was thinking of using KeyCode and I already have an event to navigate by the arrow keys so I'm considering building on that.

I've cleared all the default value properties in the table and the form but it always loads as showing one of the buttons pressed/selected. I want to set few buttons on every Page which would filter records in predefined way.Ex: one page has calculated field named [Za platiti]. It has numeric values form 0 up. I have looked up several options using vb for the on click event of the command button but I either get an error message or the form shows up blank.
I am not sure where to start or go about creating message box that would display "No results found" if my queries return no results. My search of the forums hasn't been fruitful.
I have created one form that has a text box and a button that works as a search function to run through the tables and displays the applicable queries. Currently, if no results are returned nothing happens. Preferably I would like a message box to display stating that there were "No results found". I have continuous form in Access 2010. I highlight selected record. Now I would like when user will select record, that record will display button to give ability user delete it. For not selected records button not visible and disable. How to display button only in selected record in continuous form?

Category 1
Category 2
Category 3
Whatever users choose in category 1, it will filter the items in Category 2. whatever users choose in category 2, it will filter the items in category 3. users can choose 1 to 2 categories or sometimes the 3 categories. the items will show in a subform. the subform are getting the items from a query. the dropdown button gets its value from a Table.
My challenge is that, i want to get the number of items in Category 1 once users chose it. if they choose something in Category 2 the number of items will change also. there will be 3 textbox for Category 1 COUNT, Category 2 COUNT, and Category 3 COUNT.
as of now, what im getting is only the filtering of Category 1 and Category 1 COUNT.
Is there a way to run a query against a table that would return the column names, no data just the column names.
