Aug 5, 2014I have six textboxes in my form. First 5 textboxes have dates ( MMDDYYYYY). In the sixth textbox I need to display the minimum date among these five dates.

Displaying Records With Minimum Values Only
Mar 23, 2006I'm trying to get my query to display only the minimum value within my query results. I have the following fields, CustomerID, OrderID, ProductID, WarehouseID, Freight Cost.
My current query will return results that show me the locations and freight cost of each product to my customers. My intention is for the query to only return records that has the lowest freight cost as there may be several warehouses with identical products but with varying freight costs due to location to customer.
I've tried to apply the MIN function on Freight Cost but it will only sort the records in ascending order instead of only displaying the record with lowest frieght cost.

Count Records Between Maximum And Minimum Date

I've got one question regarding dates.
I've already make the form to show the count of records by using query according to the start and end date selected by the user.
What I want is when I open the form, it should show the results of count between the minimum and maximum dates inside the data table. It means I want to show the count result without date specification that is the total count from all records of the whole table .
Can anyone help me how can I make it?

Forms :: Date And Time Not Displaying If No Data
Jun 9, 2015I have a series of forms in my shiny new database and I have added the auto time and auto date fields to the form headers. I have added the code to keep the time ticking over and it all works fine.
Unless the is no data. If for any reason there is nothing in the Details part of the Form, the date and time do not display. As soon as any data shows up, so do the date and time.
The VBA code is running in either case so I am a little baffled. Usually Google is my friend but not in this case.
I am using Access 2013 on a win 7 machine.

Now I would like to know how to get the earliest and latest date range should they not select a date range. My date range is being displayed at the top of my report.

and displays the DB online.
I am creating tables rows for 'BeginListing' and 'Endlisitng'
etc that are stored as a Date
How do I get the asp/vbscript to check the date 'EndListing'
of the entry and to stop displaying it when the date is
later than today (so it takes them offline when the date is
expired)?
My script is like this and loops through each record set displaying the

Displaying Oldest And Newest Date In Query?
Jul 28, 2015I have Query which has dates in multiple columns. I need to know if there is a formula that will allow me to display the oldest date and the newest date?
Below is the output of my Query in Excel. I need the output to have two additional columns: Beginning Date and End Date. Based on the example below, I would need the beginning date to show 6/21 and the end date column to show 6/23 so when I export to excel, it shows these two dates. In Excel, there is a min/max formula that can do this but it looks like the min/max in Access only displays the min/max data? Unfortunately, creating this formula is not an option after the fact. Secondly, I need the word "DIRECTION" to show in it's own separate column in the in the query. I don't know if I can do this without adding another table to the Query or if I need can just add a column in design view and put something in the criteria that will do this.
I have included an example of my current output and what I need the output to read.

Date Displaying Incorrectly - Numbers Added
Mar 26, 2015I have recently started learning to use Access and all is going very well except for the date. As can be seen from the images below I have set up my date function correctly in Control Panel and everywhere I use a date it is displayed correctly. In Access however numbers are added which I cannot figure where they are coming from and don't want them there. In the second image you can see what the various Format options look like. When long format is used in a Form or Report it displays those additional figure. I cannot get 2015 to display but get 15316 or similar instead.

I have a field named "PICK_DATE" in text format where pickup date is stored in DD/MM/YYYY format.
Now I wanted to generate a report with the order by clause of PICK_DATE. But it is not giving me the desired result. I want to see the latest PICK_DATE at the top of the report in desending order.

Displaying Form Records Created By User And Specific To A Date

I was wondering how difficult it would be to do the following:
1. A user opens up a form.
2. The user uses a combo box to select his/her name.
3. There is a date combo box on the form and by default, it is set to today's date. So when the user selects his/her name, the records for today are displayed. Changing the date will show only the records for the date shown.
4. The user will have the ability to add and delete records specific to the criteria chosen in the text boxes. Adding new records will only add records for the date chosen in the combo box. E.g. if he/she adds a record for today, it will only be seen when today's date is selected.
Will a subform have to be used for something like this? Or could it be done with one form using filters?
Any thoughts and/or approaches on this would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible to set a minimum aloud value on a box regardless of other criteria. At present I can depending on certail criteria, finish up with a - number which for other reasons, I dont want.

I have a main form and 5 tabs within that mainform that are subforms. They are linked by an EventID.
The subforms are continuous forms, but only one record is "required". What kind of code do I need to make sure that the data entry person enters at least one record in each subform.
Also, is there a way that when I am tabbing through my subform and get to the second record and leave it blank, that when I press tab it will take me to the first record of the next tab subform.

Minimum Value For A Report Field
Dec 18, 2006I have a field in a report that is calculated to generate a dollar amount. Well the people who need this have some strange rules about how they get their dollar amounts. Mostly they just round up to the nearest dollar, which is no problem. But they also want a minimum charge of $2.00. So my problem is if the calculation works out to be 0.01 to 1.00, it will say 1.00 and it is going to be wrong because they will want it to be 2.00. So is there a way to set a minimum value for this field, or where should I go to try this?

Minimum From Multiple Tables
May 17, 2013I have a query that is working, but I am looking to make it faster. We import 13 csv files daily into 13 Access tables. The files have an ItemID and price. We need to get the minimum of the raw data across the 13 tables & then manipulate the prices some (in the query) and get the lowest of the manipulated prices again for the 13 tables for each ItemID - some might be blank. We are using a MinOfList function in the query to get the minimum of the 13 numbers. But this is very time consuming since we have to run the Min function twice (with 13 input parameters) for each ItemID - about 15,000 records. It takes about 1 minute to run the query.

Is there a way in Access to have it identify that Hong Kong to NY via West Coast is the "DEFAULT" where HKG to NY via East Coast would be "ALTERNATE" ?? And then do the same for the next origin? The table I have now has over 71 different origins but I need it look at each origin independently.
Displaying Menus In Forms
Feb 4, 2006I have written a DB for work that collects information on a range of events (eg safety incidents, improvement suggestions, etc) and reports on them. I am now trying to improve the security & integrity of the data by restricting user access to menus.
I can use the start up options to turn off menus, etc but want to allow users to use the default right click menu in forms to sort & filter the forms. But I don;t want users to have access to the other default menus (eg the one containg form deisgn). Is there a way to just select this particular menu to pop up on a right click?
Because I have not been able to find an answer to this I tried designing my own toolbar containig the sort & filter commands I needed. I created a custom tool bar using the menu/customisze options and called it "tbarSortFilt".
As soon as I place it in the menu bar it goes "dim" and I cannot select the options. When I over ride the start up options ("shift" key) and then right click in teh form both the default menu come up (as expected) and the "tbarSortFilt" menu lights up -- but is not active.
I have also tried
DoCmd.ShowToolbar "tbarSortFilt", acToolbarYes
to no avail.
Clearly there is something pretty basic I am not doing. How can I use the strat up options to turn off toolbars and then show AND activate my customized toolbar?

Forms :: Entering ID But Displaying Name
Oct 1, 2014I have a table that holds the ID to another table where I pick up the name to display instead of the ID. If a name is added or changed then the ID needs to be added/updated.
The name (and other details) are displayed on a form from 1 to ,many rows.The field that holds the name is a combo box and I can change that field by selecting the bane from the combo box or typing the name in. What I want to be able to do is type in the ID (I'm actually scanning it in from a bar code) but display the name. How do I do this.
As I say this currently works if name is typed (Or scanned in)and the ID is written to the table.On the data tab for the field I have as the control source the ID itself. In the Row Source I have select 5 fields from the second table which includes the ID and name (both from 2nd table). The Bound Column is set to 1. In the Format tab Column count is 5 and column widths is set to 0cm;3cm;0cm;0cm;0cm. This allows the name (2nd column) to be displayed. But the 1st column to be stored on table 1. However I can't scan in the ID which I want.
