I want to autofill in a text box with reference to a table I have in Access.I have the first text box that returns the first record in the table i want to get the data for with "text1 = Dlookup("numplate", "cars", "")
This returns the first record. I want the second text box to return the second number plate from the table.How can I get the second record to be returned...?
I want to hyperlink from a query direct to the relevant record in a specific form. I have a hyperlink field in the form which shows up in the query. When clicked in the query, this hyperlinks to the form but I cannot make it select the correct record in the form.How do I get it to select the correct record?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am new to access i have a problem which is i have made a form which contains a subform and a read only subreport, what i want is the ability to select a record in read only subreport as in the picture attached and make a button that when i press on it, it should copy the values of the itemsID field, Packing field, ContainerNo field and origin field from the selected record and then paste them in the subform below.
Also i want to add more then one item, so the when i press on another record it should paste the values below the first record.
I have a continuous form for which the recordsource is a query that retrieves dates from 10 days in the past to 10 days in the present. I want the record with today's date to be at the top of the form. The record with the oldest date is always on top. Is this a scrolling issue? How can I get the record with today's date to appear on top?

With the above vba code, a msgbox pops up if the record combination already exists. What I would like to do is in the same msgbox have the "entered" date display and make the msgbox say something like.

I have a main form and a nested subform. The main form is based on customer details and displays customer name and the customer primary key (custID). When this form is opened i pass two parameters to it, BPID and SIID. A BP is a business picture and a SI is a sales interaction. These are in a one to many relationship.
The subform displays a sales interactions (si) of a business picture (bP).The subform is set up with master child links of custid;bpid. This restricts the subform to only showing records for the a specific customer and specific BP (the user can cycle through all the linked SI's using the record selectors.
When the main form is opened I want the subform to display the sales interaction the user has selected when opening the main form based on the passed SIID but cannot get this to work. At the moment the subform just displays the first record.
I've done this dozen's of time - but it doesn't seem to be working now. I have a continuous form (frmHome) where i want a user to be able to click on a record, and be able to open up that specific record in "frmCustomer". The key field here is pkCustomerID (i have it in the query).
frmHome is run off a query ("qryCustomer").
frmCustomer has "tblCustomer" as the source.
The code i've used on a button on "frmHome" is:

It always only open Record #1.

At the end, the form "frmCustomer" does open but not go to the record I want. It goes to the first record instead. (The frmCustomer has the "CustomerID" and "CustomerName" fields).
I can open a report right with a wherecondition that opens a report based on an agent name..

But it returns every record for that agent and I want to be able to specify the date that goes with the name.
For example Tom has a record for Feb 10, Jan 10, and Dec 13. I only want to see the record for Dec 13.
I am able to see this in my form by having a combo box for the agent and the date (the date box being based on the agent box). So now how can I add a condition to include the date combo box?

Adding the condition gives me and type mismatch error, which I think may come down to the date combo box on the form having 3 columns (only 1 is visible).
Need to open a form to a specific record.Ive done the command button wizard that opens the form to a specific record but but that brings up the form with the filtered button showing.I've tried to put the formula into the filtered section but that doesn't work.I just want to be able to open the form to the specif record and then be able to navigate to other records if required (without aving to press the filtered button)

I want to be able to click on a record from the separate form and open the Main tabbed form, to the second tabbed page, to a specific record. Currently I have:

Which opens up to the tabbed page just fine. but I can not figure out how to get to a specific record.
Also, the subform in the tabbed page, doesn't have the same controls as the Main tabbed Form itself, so when I add something like:
strCriteria = "Agreement_Number = " & Me.Agreement_Number
it won't work because it is not reading from the subform in the tab, rather its reading from the main form controls.
I have three forms: Form1 that contains subform1 and Form2 which is totally separate. Form1 contains a listbox that I use as a search form. When a record in the listbox is clicked, it populates Subform1 with more details.
If I am in Form2, I would like to be able to click a record which opens the listbox in Form1 to the same record (this will automatically update subform1 with the details).

I have another form that has customer details as the main form and the order as a sub form and then another sub form for items....

In Access 2010 I have built a FORM which has several records of several people. I am trying to email one record only to a certain person from that FORM. If I use the access email button it opens outlook but it sends all the records in the FORM to the person. I have tried even to use the micro, but still it attach all the records in the FORM and send it all as one bundle to other.

I have a list of parts in a continuous form, I added a button to open that specific record in a detail view and it works just fine. I used an open form macro and put in the criteria
="[Description]=" & "'" & [Description] & "'"
I have tried to use this similar procedure for another form, it however has two subforms in it and I get a data type mismatch in criteria exception error. I suspect that it has something to do with the subforms but am not sure.
I am using the Filtering a listbox method from this post [URL] .....
It works great apart from when i type too many characters and no search results can be found i get a run time error '2105' you cant go to the specific record.
I think it may be because my form has a row source. When the example uses an unbound from?
I am trying to use a DLookup to search to find what block goes into the production of an item.
In a table called "dbo_vw_MCE_job_with_materials", each item contains a list of the parts which go into its production in a column titled "Expr1". However there are always more than one parts to this, with varying names.
What I am trying to do is to use a Dlookup to only return the first value which starts with B (as the block number is always the only part on the list which begins with B).
At the moment my DLookup would look ike this:

However I think as the item column contains the same item number in 8 columns, with different values in the Expr1 column, Dlookup only returns the top value "A-CF0057" (which is irrelevant as far as I am concered) - whereas I am hoping it will be able to pull the "B1499" value from the column as it is the only one starting with a B
Is there anyway to specify which value the dlookup function would return, or is there any way to apply some sort of permanent filter on my table?

I have been trying for weeks to get my login form to open up to a specific record on the mainform. I have built a form out of my Employee tbl (mainform). The table stores (ID,Name, password, EmpNumber ect.) I built a subform in that allows the user to type in the number of overtime worked on a paticular day. I have disabled the navigation on the main form so users can't advance to the next user but have enable the natigation on the subform so a particular user can advance to the next week of available overtime to input data.The goal is to get user login form to display a particular record on the main form and open a different form in the user is a supervisor.

I have a main form with a continuous sub-form. On the main form I have a series of text boxes that I want to use as a makeshift status bar. The text boxes would be filled in if a value was entered into certain records on my sub-form.The problem I have is since the sub-form is continuous, how would I refer to the specific record on the sub-form that I want to check for a value?

I have a lost/found property database form (soft-copy), it works perfectly fine. We enter the details of the found property and then take the print (hard-copy) of the form. Whenever an owner comes to claim his/her item we search through our soft-copy for the specific item/record and then ask them to sign on the relevant hard-copy record after which we cross out the hard-copy and write with a permanent marker "Restored". Whereas in the soft-copy we type in the details that it has been claimed/restored in available text fields.
However, is there anyway that I can display a big large banner saying "restored" in front of only that record(s) where item(s) has been restored to the owner. It doesn't have to be a text banner/label, it could also be a picture saying "Restored". I have manage to get a print message box set-up for this but it's too annoying. Every time we pull out an item's record that has been restored, that message box comes up and then we have to click OK to proceed. I can remove it but only if can find a replacement.

I have a form that displays details for a specific asset and a continuous subform that lists all the purchases for that asset. I have the following code in the On Click event for one of the fields in the subform:

The problem is, when I click on any item in the subform, the code returns the value of the first item in the form rather than the one clicked on. If I open the subform on its own (outside the main form) then the code works fine. I can't figure out why it won't work in a subform.
