I have two forms (attendance & member details). I put the attendance form in the member details form as a subform. My problem is that my attendance form has buttons in the footer that I want to keep (and need), but I don't want them showing up in the subform

The subform consists of following 5 fields
Opis kolicina txtCena rabat CenaSpop
Opis is combobox (cbododatki), which takes values from another table (tbldodatki)
SELECT DISTINCT [IDdodatki], [Opis], [Cena] FROM tbldodatki ORDER BY [Opis];
Kolicina is enetered manually
Rabat is entered manually
Cena is calculated with =cbododatki.column(2)
Cenaspop is a calculation of [kolicina]*[txtCena]*(1-[rabat])
In such case i cant get Access to calculate the Sum in the footer of the subform
On the other hand, if i add an additional column to the source table (tblPodrobNaroc) of this subform (frmPodrobNaroc) where i enter Cena manually (instead of only being part of cbododatki), then all calculations are fine.
Which option do you reccomend, should i:
a) add to the source table of subform (tblPodrobNaroc) another column with values of Cena from tbldodatki (how is that done?), which would be filled in through cbododatki, and then perform needed calculations
b) call Cena in subform in such way that the Access recognizes it (not as cbododatki.column type) and performs the calculation.
I've got a subform (simple table view) inside a main form, the subform (sfrmRecipes) just has an IngID field (which stores ingredient ID's) and a percentage field
I've added a few calculated fields to this subform, to assist users in making decisions, however each of these fields needs a sum total
So far my percentage field (which is an actual stored field in tblRecipes) is the only one with a functioning sum
for some reason the two calculated fields (which are both plain numbers, no text) do not give me a sum total option, i am only able to use the count function on them
Why calculated fields dont sum up and if there is an easy way to get it working (tried creating my own text field in the footer and manually typing SUM(fieldname), but it does not work).
Is there away to have the report footer only to display on the first page?

I have a table called "tblTasks" and the table allows users to attach files to a task they wish to assign to a resource in their respective department. I have based a query on this table that returns the tasks associated with a given resource; however when the resource tries to view the attachment via a Subform - the Subform is based on the query - the attachment field does not yield any understandable results. The query is correct because all of the other data for the tasks show up perfectly; however the attachment, for some reason, is missing.

then I ha e a main and subform creation with at least the variable "text456" to ensure the master transaction code (i.e. the transcode) has been located and are in the main form. In the subform that I have created, I have a condition as [forms]![mainform].[text456] under the "transcode" field in relevant query file. I have also checked that in the property of subform, both the child and parent linkages are stored the "transcode" variable.
But when I run the program, it only show the "transcode" in main form but no data showing in the subform.
Form invoice has a subform that can show max 6 records. Once more records are involved I want to show the last 6 including the new empty record. How to do that?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a subform in which the users enter job update information. When an update comes in, they simply enter the information in the new record row, denoted by a * in the left hand column. Each record is timestamped (=Now()) and sorted by newest date first.
Is it possible to display the new record row (the blank one with the star) first? I attempted to add the Autonumber ID, hide it and sort by that but it simply comes up with "(New)" in the ID field.
The first report example is what I get when I start on the main form and select an organization, run the report, opens report - BIG SPACE between the details and my footer section which holds a subform.
The second report is what I need it to look like, what's strange to me is I get the report correctly when I just run the report (I don't pass the organization into the report from the main form)
I tried changing the background color of the detail section and the footer section to figure out where my problem is but the space just stays white.
I have three main tables:-
1, Products
2, Inventory
3,Purchase.
By using a query I have been able to sort the data entered so that all I have left is a list of products that are below their reorder level and the number that needs to be ordered, great so far, this is what I want, but when I try to create a purchase order form as a form/sub form and put in the query I created, there are no products listed, it seems as if I cannot associate the two together, as soon as I link the query for the sub form with the purchase order form.
What I would like to happen is that when I open the purchase order form I can enter the purchase forms details and have all the products that need to be ordered visible in the sub form, the only way that I can get this to half work is to delete the link master and link child fields. If this is the way to go how do I link these products to the purchase order?
I created a vehicle database that includes a sevice subform to track service history. The main form is bound to the vehicle table that tracks the vehicles we have. (Vehicle_ID). The service history has its own table that stores its history and is link to the vehicles table. I created a report that shows my vehicle and its last history item. When i click on it, it will bring up the vehicle form where you can add information. Is there a way to create the form, so when i enter the latest information and i click on it, it will bring up my main form, and in my subform svc history, display the lastest information.

How do I have a text box in each row that shows Record x of Total Records?
I tried setting a text box control source = [currentrecord] in the Detail area of the subform but it didn't work . It did weird things because I suspect the control is trying to show the record that has the focus or something
I have been having issues with a subform on the attached database - for some reason it is not always updating to show corresponding records.
What I am planning, this is effectively going to be an interactive learning portal which can test users as well. There will be learning material (not yet included) and a bank of questions with corresponding multiple-choice answers, only one of which is correct. Each time the main form is loaded (Cat1MainForm) it randomly selects and orders questions, then, via a sub-form, returns three potential answers. There will then be radio buttons with which the users can answer appropriately.
If you load up Cat1MainForm and scroll through various questions you will see that sometimes the answers appear, other times not. Sometimes on one record the answers are there, you navigate away and back, and they have disappeared, and vice-versa.
I have a subform which lists a set of records. In the footer section of the subform, I have a number of controls which display calculations based on the records present.
The number of records in the subform will change (reduce). Basically, this is a review / approval function, the idea being that each record will be checked and approved, which will then remove it from the list.
So eventually, all of the records in the subform should disappear (the subform is requeried each time the user approves a record)
I want to be able to hide the controls in the footer section once the subform has been cleared of all records.
But not sure
a) how to determine when the subform's recordset reaches zero and
b) what event to use to fire the code to hide the footer controls.
This is my basic attempt :

How would I create a relationship between a subform and a coverage field such that when i multi select items in the subform, it will show what items are selected in the coverage field as in the example.
I would like to show a report's print preview in a sub form. Is there any possible way? I don't want the user to see the datasheet view of the table so I decided to put on a report.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm currently building a database in Access 2013. I've used Access many years ago, and not really in anger since maybe 2003, so I've been re-learning quite a lot. Here's an overview of my scenario, and issue:
The main purpose of my database is to allow engineers to log various bits of information when building, servicing and testing manufactured products for offshore exploration. Because some of the engineering team aren't so great with data entry etc, I've decided that, rather than deleting data, I'm going to use a 'deleted' flag: user clicks what he considers to be a delete button, but in reality an update query will simply update the flag and, because the form is built on a query which includes a 'where deleted = 0' filter, it'll no longer be shown. This will allow us more control over the data and will also allow me to check that everything is running okay.
My main forms include a number of subforms, including one which includes a second tier of nested form: Pin Maps for (electrical) Connectors.
What I need to achieve is fairly straightforward: as the user navigates around the form, I'd like a 'delete' button which is specific to that subform to become visible and for any other 'delete' buttons to become hidden. Once tested, the buttons would be 'stacked' in the same position at the top of the main form, so the user just thinks they're deleting the relevant record in the sub, or main, form.

All. using 2010. I have a form and a subform. my master and child links are set but when I scroll thru my form; my subform does not change to show the matching records. I do have an unbound search field for the same field as the master and child links. When I type in the search field for a record; the subform does change to that particular record. Do you think that has anything to do with it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a pretty simple form that includes subform. Subform's table is linked to main form's table with parent/child relation. Connecting fields are main table's ID field and corresponding field in child table. Subform is in datasheet view. This is pretty basic stuff so there should not be any problems, but every time I apply a quick filter in main form it causes data in subform become invisible. There is single row in subform, but all it's fields are empty.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue trying to show all records when I load my form. It loads correctly when I don't have a record source for the main form. However, the combobox filters will not work. My goal is to have users be able to use the datasheet, subdatasheet and combobox filters. I can get the form to work just fine when I link the Main form and subform, but when the form opens it is filtered on the first record. I have been successful with this approach when using other forms, but they didn't require a subdatasheet.
Is there anyway I can have the comboboxes to filter yet be able to show all records until the user selects filters? Is this possible?I finally got my Manager to agree to use a database instead of Excel files based on this form setup and I need to make as "user friendly" as possible (look and function like a spreadsheet) I attached some pics of the form along with the code for the filter.
I have a suppliers table and a products table.
