I am trying to add a certain number of days onto a date field to create a due date within a Table but can't work out how to do it. I know that to add days on I can use the function DateAdd but the only way I can see how to do this is to create and update query to run and add the date on. Is there anyway that I can set the field to automatically update the due date dependent on the priority of the record e.g. immediate (1 day) standard (3 days) and request (28 Days)?
Hi I have 3 date fields. I am trying to work out number of days when
=[FIELD1 - FIELD2 OR FIELD3]
should do the calculation in field 4 NUMBER OF DAYS. but it comes up with date only. FIELD1 will always be filled, if field 2 is field then the number of days must be based on that. but if field2 is blank then it should be field1 - field 3. I may need a help on the formula does it need any if, else statement or not. If so can someone please help
Is there a function in Access that will allow you to add business days to a date? I want to pull a date with a query and then add 5 business days to it to display in a report. Anyone know if this is possible?
I'm working on a query ("Target Date of Completion") that takes the initial date started (from Step 1 of date started) and adds the EC (Estimated Completion) which is just shown in days. This will give an EST (Estimated Start time) for the next step in date format, which I would need the new column. Also, As you can see, the piece parts all have a different amount of steps, so this calculation would need to know when it's a different part.
I am working on updating another person access database, how to add a calculated field. I need to add a field to an existing table to subtract the date listed in one field from todays' date. It would need to return the answers in days
ie
10/10/13 - 10/1/13 = Return answer of 9 days
I have been told about DateAdd but I cant find these date function in the option of expression builder.
I have a date picker field in my form that is used as part of a criteria in a query. I also add it as a result field in the query being that it is appending data to a table. But when the query runs it puts weird characters into the query field with expression.
The Expression is as follows:
BillWk: [Forms]![Invoice Form]![WkEnd]
My Criteria is: Between [Forms]![Invoice Form]![WkEnd] And [Forms]![Invoice Form]![WkEnd]-6
At work I can enter +15 in a date field and it automatically sets the date 15 days after todays date. Our companies computer is operating on a ERP system. I would like to do that in an Access database I'm designing for a friend. Any hints.
I am trying to track vegetables that I will be planting in my garden. I will plant some vegetables. I have a StartDate and HarvestDate and Estimated HarvestDate Fields. I also have a field named GrowDays. This field states how long it takes for each vegetable to mature i.e. 75 days or 58 days or 42 days etc. etc. What I want to do in a query is to automatically add the number of days from the GrowDays field to the StartDate and come up with the Estimated Harvest Date. If I plant a Tomato on April 13th and it takes 75 days to mature then I want the EstimatedHarvestDate field to reflect 6/27/2013 which is the StartDate + 75days. I am trying to figure out how to do this when the GrowDays field changes numbers. I can use this "Estimated HarvestDate: DateAdd("d",+75,[GrowDays])" except this only works if the GrowDays Field is 75. I need to be able to accomplish this no matter what the GrowDay field says.
I have a query and I need the records to display 3 working days before the 15 working day deadline.
I used the following in the criteria box below the received date field and it doesn't pull the correct number of workdays, it's pulling calendar days instead.

Anyone help please ? I'm still fairly new to ACCESS so forgive me if I'm completely on the wrong track !
I wish to add a control button to a form that will prompt me to enter a date and then calculate and display a date nn (fixed) number of WORKING days in the future.
I've seen some functions suggested in the forum and as I'm unfamiliar with this topic, I have tried putting together some code (see below) related to an On Click event for the button. I'm having syntax problems and have been battling away at this for some time without success.
Suggestions please !
Steve

I am trying to calculate the working days Based on all web searches I am unable to find the specific scenario I am working in Auto industry, which means auto industry usually close twice a year for any reasons, let say in July for one or sometime two weeks and in December depends upon the Christmas date usually from December 20 till Jan 01
Now my question is when i am enter the holiday details in table do I have to enter line by line date e.g. july 01, 02, 03 (I am able to understand, how this works but still not yet tried) OR july 01 to July 07 (which make sense, but unable to find how to use date range to calculate working days)...
1. I have 12 unbound text boxes in the unbound form in 6 pairs.
2. Text1 receives the arrival date and Text2 receives departure date, Text3 receives arrival date and Text4 receives the departure date and so on.
3. A person may have any number of arrivals and departures between 1 to 6.
4. The person should not stay in this country for more than 6 years.
I need to calculate from the final departure date, the total number of days the person stayed in this country and the remaining allowable years months and days the person can stay in this country ( deducted from the 6 years period ).
5. Please note the final departure date can be in Text2 or Text4 or Text 6 field.
i have a tbl that stores items that have an expiry. in a child table i want to store the expiry. but as it is different for each item i need a way of doing this.
i thought that by having
DateAdd('m',3,Date()) in one of the fields this would work.
on click event i would like the date add to come into play but the way i am doing it comes up with an error. too few arguments.
this is what i have so far
Code: Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Dim db As DAO.Database Set db = CurrentDb
I'm exporting a query from Access to an ASCII text file. It is automatically adding a time stamp (0:00:00) to the end of ALL of my date fields. I would like it if it didn't do this...:D
I want make a date control compulsory if a value is selected from a combo list on the same form.
I have Combo List, status, which can be 25%, 50%, 75%, WON or Lost. If the value is WON or LOST I want the date control, Date Project Closed, to be compulsory. I cant set it to insert today's date as it may have been closed up to a week before.
If 25%, 50% or 75% are selected then the date should not be compulsory.
