Forms :: Error 1907 When Placing Chart Control Within A Form
Nov 3, 2014
I have just tried experimenting with placing a Chart control within a form (Access 2010). Although the chart ultimately seems to work (based on my one simple example), I'm getting an Error 1907 (Could not register font.......) each time I launch the database or reload or edit the form.
This error message is itself contained within a "Configuration Progress" screen for MS Office Prof + 2010 which seems to complete if I select Ignore the error message but runs again each time the database is launched (with the same error message showing up part way through). I am logged on as Administrator.
I have a form that I am inputting data into. I have been able to Clear the form. I have created an edit script and it brings the data from the table to populate the form. When I try to change the data in the form and run a VBA update to push the data down to the table I am having no luck. I can add/Delete recordswith no problems but I can't edit them and put them back in the table. I am novice and just learning the formats and scripting.
I have a bar pivot chart made in a form this load fine, I have the below VBA code in place to control the bar color depending on what the bar show.
Set frms = Forms![OtherCases created by Indv by Month chart].Form.ChartSpace.Charts(0) Dim i As Long With frms For i = 0 To Forms![OtherCases created by Indv by Month chart].Form.ChartSpace.Charts(0).SeriesCollection.Count - 1 With .SeriesCollection(i).Name Select Case Forms![OtherCases created by Indv by Month
[code].....
When I then open the Report this is not working at all each bar just get a random color regardless what the bar show.how to convert the above to fit a Pivot chart form a form that is displayed on a report.
I am trying to make something like custom bar chart on a form using rectangles. I made 4 rectangles (BarBZ, BarBA, BarKI and BarMA) and have the following code:
Code:
Dim PctBZ As Double Dim PctBA As Double Dim PctKI As Double Dim PctMA As Double PctBZ = Me.BZ / (Me.BZ + Me.BA + Me.KI + Me.MA)
[Code] ....
It works perfectly except... the rectangles grow/shrink downwards and not upwards. As a result the bars are aligned to top, while I would like to have them aligned to bottom.
I need to place fields on a form that is not linked to a table or query. Form was built by my predecessor and it already contains multiple fields, however the form itself is not linked to any data source. I have tried hardcoding the field onto the form, but it didn' take. How is this done?
Need help placing fields on a form that is not linked to a table or query. The form was created by my predecessor. The form already has multiple fields on it, however the form itself is not linked to any data source. I have tried hardcoding the filed onto the form but it didn't take. How can this be done?
A nice easy one for you. I am creating a database, one of the fields is total cost. Is there an easy way to have another field, which calculates the VAT without using a query? I would like this done as soon as the total is entered.
I have done this using a query, but didnt like this way.
I am sure there must be a very simple way of doing this but it has escaped me.
I'm trying to create a chart in a form, this is not a problem, however, the chart types available are a bit limited compared to if i inserted a Microsoft Excel Chart object.
I'd do that except I'm trying to create a chart based on a query.
Is there a way to make the chart wizard use the Microsoft Excel Chart object as its chart creator so I have access to the chart types available in that object?
I have a small application for booking cars into a Garage.
Tbl_Bookings: Date in: 6.8.2013 Brief: Full Service Approx. time: 4 hrs
Next car : 6.8.2013 Brief : Brake pads Approx. time: 2 hrs.
Workshop capacity on any day -16 hrs.
Now my customer would like to look at a pie Chart, per date, showing 16 hrs green and 6 hrs red, so that if he can see at a glance if he still has capacity for more cars on any certain day. I can insert a Chart, but not sure how to make it do what I want.
I'm a bit stuck on creating a chart in Access 2010. Not sure if I've set my table up right or not
Here's my table design
And the input form
My data is laid out like so
When I insert a chart though, I'm lost. It's like it's totally ignoring my data. The data isn't mine, it says east, north and west like a 'default preview chart'. The row source is
Code: SELECT [student_id],Count(*) AS [Count] FROM [tblProgressLevels] GROUP BY [student_id];
Which means nothing to me I've managed to get most of the other stuff figured out, but these charts are confusing me.
Output??
What I want it to do is show how the student is progressing but I've got it all back to front I think. How could I lay my data out so I have a single English column, a single maths and a single science and they still go up in terms like my form shows; they're all in the same table at the moment laid out the same way as I set up the English tracking.
I also just realised I'm trying to chart alphanumeric values stupid boy... Can Access do a conversion where I make a lookup table so that 1c = 1, 1b = 2, 1a = 3, 2c = 4, 2b = 5 etc. or would a query work?
While I have developed many databases using other RDBMSs I'm afraid I'm something of an Access 2007 newbie so the vast bulk of my experience counts for nought given Access' many "unique features".
What I have is a form with about 3 text fields, 2 date fields and a number of comboboxes on it. Although, for now I'm not worrying about the combo boxes until I get the other fields working.
I am trying to develop an update screen where the user types the primary key value for a record into the first field and using DLookup retrieve the other values from the table and insert them into the form so the user can adjust them if they wish and click the Save button to write the changes back to the table. That's the theory.
Unfortunately the reality is, although the values added to the other fields using DLookup are "there" they don't appear on the screen until the controls lose focus. My best guess is because they are being added programatically and no Return key is being pressed, focus will not change and they will never appear.
So to get around this I put a line of code in the GotFocus event of each control to move focus on to the next control, effectively "looping" the focus once around the controls. This worked well until the focus was being moved from the second last control to the last control when I got, Runtime error 2110: Can't move focus to this control. The control was visible and enabled, as was a dummy control I tacked on the end to see what happened.
Main code block in Exit event of first field:
Private Sub Text6_Exit(Cancel As Integer) Dim varItemType, varItemTypeCode, varItemClass, varItemClassCode, varDescription As Variant Dim varPurchaseDate, varWarrantyEnd As Variant Dim varItemTypeTxt As AcTextFormat Dim PurchaseDateSQL As String
I have a chart in a form which gets its data from a cross-tab query. The chart was working fine and still is besides the fact the it is skipping the first row of data, or reading/treating it as a header. I had this problem before and the only way i could get around it was to re-create the charts. As there are many charts i want to avoid doing this again and find out why this is happening to prevent it happening again.
I made a form pivot chart. When I open it by going to forms and opening, it opens in the pivot chart view. However, I created a button on a switchboard form for easy access to this pivot chart form and when it opens from the button it is in form view and not pivot chart view. How can I get it to open in pivot chart view from this button so that the users don't have to keep switching it to pivot chart view manually?
is it possible to use a sum select query in the control source field of a text box. I have a query that works fine in a combo text box but I keep getting a 'syntax error with subquery parenthesis' when I try and build on in a normal text box.
I am building the query using query design view and the query works and then I'm copying the SQL code behind the query into the text box field and access reformats it s a bit so not sure it's that's the reason.
R_P_Data_P = Table approvalNosys = Field in the table status = Field in the table score = Field in the table cmrOverview = Form [approvalNoSys] = field in form 1 is the criteria
Code: SELECT R_P_Data_P.approvalNosys, R_P_Data_P.status, Sum(R_P_Data_P.score) AS SumOfscore FROM R_P_Data_P GROUP BY R_P_Data_P.approvalNosys, R_P_Data_P.status HAVING (((R_P_Data_P.approvalNosys)=[forms]![cmrOverview]![approvalNoSys]) AND ((R_P_Data_P.status)="1"));
I believe I did this before awhile ago but for some reason I keep getting an error.
I have a Mainform (frmMain) that has a Subform (frmSub). On frmSub I have 2 comboxes (strCom1 & strCom2) one is set to invisible (strCom2.Visible = No).
So using the "On Open Event" of frmMain I want make strCom2 visible if strCom1 = "Read Only". Ofcourse I will also need to place the vba on the On After Update event. Below is what I have so far but doesnt work.
I get Run-time Error 2427 "You enetered an experssion that has no value"
Code:
Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer) If Me!frmSub.Form!strCom1.Value = "Read Only" Then Me!frmSub.Form!strCom2.Visible = True Else Me!frmSub.Form!strCom2.Visible = False End If End Sub
Wasen't sure whether this is a Reporting thing or a Querie thing as it resides inbetween the two.
Basically (and believe me I thought this would be pretty straight forward!!!!), I am trying to create a chart from a query that returns the occurences of concerns raised each month for a year. The query returns the following:
In order that the user can specify a year that the chart will be applicable to, there is a field within the query that relies on the input of a year on an unbound text box on a form: [Forms]![frm_concern_frtpage]![Enter Year] is inputted into the critera box of this field.
However, if you try to create the chart it does not like this and just gives the following two error messages. If you enter a value into this text box and run the report containing the chart, it just gives a blank chart!!!!
Why is this error occuring?
I just want months along the X axis and the values from the Expr 1 column to be displayed on the Y axis!
after building a database in Access 2010, I am having a hard time with something that seems relatively simple.
I am trying to create a bar graph PivotChart with 2 different values associated an individual axis. While I can get the data into the PivotChart, I can't seem to make it stop overlaying the data. This is problematic because it causes one of the bars to be behind another.
Is there a way to make this data stack up side by side rather than on top of each other?
I've already tried changing the chart type, made the data separate groups, overlap is set to 0.
I am trying to publish an Excel Pivot Chart, but keep getting Run Time Error 1004 - Application-defined or object-defined error...
I have tried the code 2 ways:
Code: Sub PublishChart() Worksheets("Historical_Pivot").Activate With ActiveWorkbook.PublishObjects.Add(xlSourceChart, _ Path & "" & "AWA" & "_" & "JAMALCO" & "_" & "Chart" & ".htm", _ "Historical_Pivot", "JAMALCO", xlHtmlStatic, "ABC REQ BACKLOG_2013", "") .Publish (True) .AutoRepublish = False End With End Sub
Code: Sub PublishChart() Dim wb As Workbook Dim ws As Worksheet Set wb = ThisWorkbookSet ws = wb.Sheets("Historical_Pivot") ws.ChartObjects("JAMALCO").Activate With wb.PublishObjects.Add(xlSourceChart, Path & "" & "AWA" & "_" & "JAMALCO" & "_" & "Chart" & ".htm", ws _ , "", xlHtmlStatic, "", "") .Publish (True) End With End Sub
I am trying to create a database for a cub scout pack that just keeps scouts information, medical info, parents info, and parents medical info each is a seperate table. I have created a Tab controlled form with 4 tabs. On each tab the ONLY thing I have is a subform that contains the appropriate information. Each table has it's own form with the table as it's record source. I link the scouts table to the medical table by SID which is a primary key in the Scouts table. I link the Scouts table to the Parents table with a PID which is the Primary Key in my Parents table, and I link the Parents with the ParentsMed with a PMedID, key in the ParentsMed table.
Question #1 - Using a Tab Control you can only have 1 record source. What should I use? I have tried the tblScouts and I have also created a query with every field from every table.
#2 - When I try to use the parent and child links on the subform I get the error "Can't build a link between unbound forms" but each form is bound to the table and the record source on the tab control has had a table and my qryEverything, neither work. I can type in SID but it still doesn't function properly.
Any suggestions or comments on a better relationship method or any insight on how tab controls are supposed to be setup or anything would be greatly appreciated.
In the default property of a subform control I want to use a control of the main form without using names of forms, but using me and parent.
I used in default property of cboVATDetail: =Me.Parent!cboVAT, but it is not accepted. My aim is to use cboVAT of parent as default in cboVATDetail of child.
I have an access form with tab control pages each with embedded forms. In one page I have a list of records as a datasheet form with the record identifier field configured as a hyperlink. When I click on this it passes its value to a form field in the form in the following tab page (works without the hyperlink but its a useful way of highlighting which field to click) which is a display/edit form of the details of the individual record. The Subroutine which does this sets the focus on this field it is passing the value to on the other form and the 'On Got Focus' event in that triggers the query that fills the editor form.
When I click back on the following tab to select another record to view/edit, the identifier value of the other record is passed to the other form but the data displayed in the rest form doesn't change. I understand this is because the field with the 'On Got Focus' never lost focus and so the query function was not called. To correct this I tried adding the same function call to the 'On Change' event however this does not work (the field is a text box set to 'locked' if that is relevant).I can get the form to do a new query properly if I click on a different field in the form before going back to the list tab or (as this is removing the focus allowing the On Got Focus to work again) if I click on a button to select a different record (which just takes me back to the list form).
Is there any way I can get this to work without having to manually remove the focus from the problem field? I have tried setting its On Got Focus event to move the focus to another field after the query function call however this prevents the Setfocus line in the code in the previous form from working. Here is a snippet of my code below. This code is for the list form and passes a value to the editing form:
I'm trying to make a very simple click through data entry screen in Access 2007. For each record I want to have a standard form with three buttons at the bottom. Each button opens a new form (each form has a set of tabbed pages on it as there is lots to enter). How do I make sure that each of the additional forms populate the same record as the main form.
I am attempting to create a Navigation Form to allow another computer in my network to be able to utilize necessary forms within a database (through RunTime). I was hoping this would be a clean task by simply loading the forms into the tabs of the Navigation Form, however that is clearly not the case.
For starters, When attempting to use a form that has some VBA behind it (Docmd.ApplyFilter based on a selection from a combo box), I am given the error stating: "The action or method is invalid because the form or report isn't bound to a table or query."
After searching on this error, I believe it's because my Navigation Form does not have a record source. If this is the case, then I am confused as to what record source it should have, as with the 3 forms I need to access through the Navigation Form all pull data between various tables and queries within the database (some not related).
Now I've also come to the conclusion that my VBA references now must change in order to correctly use my forms. A correct reference would look something like:[Forms]![Navigation Form]![NavigationSubform].[Form].[My Form's Control]..Is this necessary in order to write any events, such as an AfterUpdate on a combo box?
When I right click a row on the data sheet side of a split form an select "New Record" I want the curser to go to the first field on the single record side. I've placed this in the OnCurrent but it did no good.
Code:
If Me.NewRecord Then Me!Descrfiption.SetFocus. End If
Any way to set the focus to the single form Side of a split form?
