Forms :: Export Single Record To Word To Print

Apr 14, 2013

I would like to have a button (cmdPrintIntroLetter) on my Client Details form that takes the client name, address and company data of the record that I'm currently viewing and putting it into an address box in a Word document.

e.g. when I contact a new customer and input their details into my form I want to then be able to send them an introductory letter (standard wording) from me with just the click of a button.

FAO: FirstName LastName
CompanyName
Address1
Address2
Address3
Town
County
Postcode

I've been faffing around with concatenating my address fields into an address textbox in a report but I really don't like using a report to write a letter, it just feels wrong - on every level.I also want another button (cmdEmailBrochure) which opens an email template using the records email address and inserting the name of the client into the body of the email.

Modules & VBA :: Export Single Record To MS Word Template

May 25, 2015

I am working in Access 2013.I'll be performing a series of inspections at a number of intersections for a small community. The data being captured is consistent from site to site and lends itself to a database application, and what I would like to do is the following:Use forms to capture the data.Generate a report to preview the output for a single record. I may ultimately decide to set the report datasource to a query.Attach a macro to a button that exports fields from that record to a template based in MS Word.The first two bullet items I can handle with my limited Access capability. Each file has to be individually reviewed and saved, and each file will ultimately contain an electronic signature.

Forms :: Print Single Record As Form (not Report)

Jul 17, 2014

I need to find a way to print the currently selected record (by clicking a button in the form) as a form. I know printing is almost always done in records, but they use the forms by hand before entering them into the computer database.

One tough part of this is that this printing function needs to be sustainable through revisions of the form, as we will be constantly updating it.

Is there a way to print the form with only the current record shown without creating a second form or report?

Forms :: Table Locked When Trying To Print Single Report

Jul 9, 2013

I have a database that has all the employees in my company with basic information. I have a auto number set up for each person. I also have on my form a subform with information about the employee's history in the company. I have bin trying for the last couple weeks, to put a button on my form, that will open up the custom report I made for the one employee, in print preview mode. Everything I have tried gives me a error. The main error I get is The database engine could not lock the table "EmployeeT" because it is already in use by another person or process. If I open the report by itself, then I get all my employees. I am looking to just open a single report from the form I am currently looking at.

I have 2 tables. One Named EmployeeT with all the employees basic information. I have a auto number with the field name EmployeeID. The 2nd table is called IncidentT, which has its own auto number, and records all the problem/incidents with the employee. For example, lates, if the did not show up, or cancelled out of that day, etc. I have the 2 tables sharing the EmployeeID, sharing the relationship. My main form, has a lot of my information and a subform, Like i said. what I try I can get rid of that error.

The only way I got it to work without the error, is when I go into properties and change the Record Set Type to Snapshot on both the form and subform. But then I can't edit the form or subform anymore.

Reports :: Print Out Single Page Reports (or Forms) To Show Detail From Several Tables And Queries

Apr 21, 2014

I have a database of high-school football players, and I am looking to print out single page reports (or forms) that will show detail from several tables and queries. This will act as their resume when they visit schools on recruiting visits. The reason for needing query items, is that I have developed queries that return the most up to date height, weight, 40 time etc., and that single most up to date number is what should print, not the entire table. When I try to build a report it will let me bring in multiple tables, but not queries.

Modules & VBA :: Sending A Single Email To A Single Record In A Query

May 15, 2014

I am trying to create a form with a button attached to each record that would allow the user to click the button and it would automatically open outlook and fill in the TO:, SUBJECT: and BODY: fields. Here is the code that I currently have:

Code:
Private Sub Command33_Click()
Dim strEmail As String
Dim strMsg As String
Dim oLook As Object
Dim oMail As Object
Set oLook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
Set oMail = oLook.CreateItem(0)

[code]...

There are two issues I keep running into:

1. This code opens outlook and populates all of the fields but pastes the email incorrectly. Instead of pasting just the email (email@email.com) it pastes the html tags as well (email@email.com#mailto:email@email.com#) which means that the user would have to delete everything between the #'s in order to send the email every time.

2. I currently have the email BODY pulling from a table but this obviously limits what I can do. I would like to simply encode the BODY within the VBA code. The setup I am looking for is:
one paragraph
a blank line
a hyperlink to a website
a blank line
another paragraph

Export To Word

Jun 26, 2006

Boy am I frustrated.

I have searched the forums for similar problem but I was unable to find it.

I have some buttons that export the data from a form into a Word Document. It generally works but there are some issues.

I have Access 2003 but the people using it only use the runtime version of Access and the environment is Office 2000.

I have copied code from other examples and maybe missing something that is causing the issues.

1. When I export the record it is causing problems with the Normal.dot template. When I try to close Word it keeps asking me that I have modified that template. After pressing Cancel button twice it the save box disappears.
2. When I leave the code Dim objWord As word.Application I get an error message about a compile error User defined Type not defined.
2. When the users try to export a record to the specific word template I
created and a required field is empty an error message is displayed and then closes the application.

Any help will be appreciated. I am a newbie when it comes to code.

Sample code is below.
Private Sub Command1079_Click()
Dim objWord As word.Application
'Start Microsoft Word 2000.
Set objWord = CreateObject("Word.Application")

With objWord
'Make the application visible.
.Visible = False

'path and name of the template your are using.
' objWord.Documents.Add ("U:Asset Strategy and Commercial PropertyCommercial PropertyTaskmasterletterofobjection.dot")
.Documents.Open ("C:Documents and SettingsDadMy DocumentsWorkTaskmasterletterofobjection.dot")

'This is for the bookmark that you created in the template

.ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("bmSubject").Select
Selection.Text = Forms![frmTaskMaster_LeaseManagement]![Subject]
.ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("bmCurrentRent").Select
.Selection.Text = Format(CCur(Forms![frmTaskMaster_LeaseManagement]![CurrentRent]), "Currency")
.ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("bmVendetails").Select
.Selection.Text = Forms![frmTaskMaster_LeaseManagement]![VenDetails]
.ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("bmDateNotice").Select

.ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("bmAskingRent").Select
.Selection.Text = Format(CCur(Forms![frmTaskMaster_LeaseManagement]![AskingRent]), "Currency")

End With

Print_Reconsideration_Err:
'If a field on the form is empty, remove the bookmark text, and
'continue.
If Err.Number = 94 Then
.Selection.Text = ""
Resume Next

End If
objWord.Application.Options.PrintBackground = False
objWord.Application.ActiveDocument.PrintOut

Queries :: Single Row Export For One To Many

Jun 27, 2013

I have a one-to-many relationship between a clients details and the clients plans.Therefore the clients details are duplicated whilst the plans are unique per row. I would ideally like each plan on the same row. Below is an example of my current data set;

Name:Address:Plan
Sam TarlyAddress 1Plan A
Sam TarlyAddress 1Plan B
John SnowAddress 2Plan A
Arya StarkAddress 3Plan B
Arya StarkAddress 3Plan C

Below would be my desired outcome;

Sam TarlyAddress 1Plan APlan B
John SnowAddress 2Plan A
Arya StarkAddress 3Plan BPlan C

FYI- i need it in this format for an export, so a query format would be brilliant.

However, I don't want it to add the whole table each time this is pushed but when trying to use...

It doesn't want to add the single record and gives me an error. I'm pretty sure my syntax is wrong but not sure how to correct it.

The fields I want added are ... Provider's Name , Patient Name, Patient Account Number...

Recall - Export To MS Word

I have a template fax set up in Microsoft word and want to be able to export fields from my database (in form view) to the word document. For example, I have a 'purchase order No' on the access form which I want to send to the Word document. When exported I then want the user to be prompted to save the document as a new name so they do not overwrite the original template fax.

Any ideas guys,

On the same form I have a code that export my data to a template in MS Word. I use bookmark to export my access data. No problem with regular data but cannot handle checkboxes. Basically I need help to export the check box value (yes or no) into a check box places in my word template. In this template I have a checkbox. If I doulble click in to it I get a window which allows me to bookmark the checkbox but when I export the access data, I will get a YES or NO priot to the checkbox in word. Is there any way I can solve this problem?

This is a sample of my code:

If Err.Number = 0 Then
objWord.Selection.Text = Me.chek1
Else
Err.Number = 0
End If

How To Print A Word Document After Running RunApp??

Feb 2, 2006

Hi
I want to open a Word Document in access, so I am using the Runapp macro. It says to enter a command line. So, i input the path of the document and run the macro. It works great! But now I need to get the Word document to print after it is opened.
I wasn't sure how to do this. I have tried to create a macro in Word to automatically print the document but that didn't work. Then I used the RunCommand under macros in Access and selected PrintOut. I received an error message and I also tried the sendkeys. Nothing has worked.
Anyone have any ideas on how to do this? Any help would be great!

Reports :: Subreport To Print Word None If Blank

Jun 4, 2014

I have a report with four subreports. If the subreports have no data I have a formula to put the word 'none' in the first field as follows:

=IIf(IsNull([Question]),"None",[Question])

I do a print preview and the word 'None' shows up and subreport looks good when I view just the subreport as well as when I view the full report.

When I print the subreport the text '#Error' prints. When I print the full report I just get a blank space.

I need the subreport to print with the word 'None' if there is not data. How do I accomplish? I tried the above formula both in the query and in the control source of the report. It just comes up blank when I put it in the query.

Modules & VBA :: Displaying Word Print Dialogue Box

May 10, 2015

Code for displaying the Word Print dialogue box instead of sending it straight to the printer.

I have the following code:

'Open Word
Set objWord = New Word.Application
'Letter document would be open
Set objletter = objWord.Documents.Open(strletterpath & strworddoc)
objletter.MailMerge.OpenDataSource (strletterpath & strletterfile)
objletter.MailMerge.Destination = wdSendToPrinter 'normally print
Dialogs(wdDialogFilePrint).Show
objletter.MailMerge.Execute
'not normally here
'objWord.Visible = True

This is to produce a mailmerge based upon a query.

Previously on Access 2000 and Word 2000 it would display the print dialogue box, but I am trying to upgrade it all to 2013 and this does not do it now with Access 2013 and Word 2013.
