I'm trying to work out how to attach a word doc to the attachment field of a table when I add a new Record. The following code work's fine if I add it to the On Load Event on the Form, but the doc is attach'd to the first record. When I add the code to the Add New Record button, I get the error msg: "File already part of the Multi-Valued Field" and nothing in the attachment field.

Is it possible to link a field in Access to a footer in Word?
I have a field in Access that would look like the following;
G10E-PRO-001RevA
Additional data in access would have the document name, and revision, matching 2 lines of text in Word. I would like the footer in the document to be the above sample, which I assume could be a query that need to run to match the 2 fields of information.... not really sure if this is even possible?
Like the title says it:

I have a field in my database (I'm using Access 2007) configured as Attachment under the DataType column on DesignView.
I was expecting to find an option to limit the attachment size (max 250Kb) and more importantly to limit the filetype you can actually upload. In my specific case only jpg should be attached.
I have a query that combines few different tables in order to create a View (Query) that is then used to by and Excel sheet to update a list. The Excel is dynamical updated when new data is inputted in the Access Tables.
But one of the fields in a query is combination of path name and report name (another filed in one of the tables) that crate a complete path to a file that contains some additional information.
Now since the Excel is updated dynamical and users of this Excel sheet are not very advanced. I waned to make it easy for them to just click on the location of the file and the file opens up. But I am not able to make the Query that contains the file destination hyperlinked.
I am using Access 2007
I have created an action log database that sends an email when a new action is entered. I would like to launch the database using a hyperlink in the email, but can't seem to get it to work. All users have a copy of the front end on their desktop, so whatever I add to the email needs to launch the front end for any user signed on to their own desktop.
This is what I have and it sends a hyperlink but I click it, I get an error saying it can't find the file. I don't know how to word the path name for any user?
With obMsg
.subject = "New action request for " & team
.To = people

I work in a school where teachers have to archive their assessments and other documents monthly. Currently they email them to a set email address but I was wondering if it would be possible for me to make something with access whereby they can do this. I'd like to make a form where they selected their name and then attached a file, this file would then be saved in an area I would have assigned that persons name to, does this make sense? I want it to be very simple so just a name section from a dropdown then a file upload section and done.
View 11 Replies View RelatedIs there a quick way to export ALL VBA code to a text file/word document?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHi everyone.
I am considering adding a new feature to our customer database. Let's say we recieve a letter from a customer, I'd like to be able to scan the letter into the computer, saved as a PDF (for example) and then, on the customer form, provide a 'browse' button so that we could browse to the file and then the address of the file gets saved as a text field in the relevant table.
Next time someone brings up the details for that customer, the letter would be accessible via a hyperlink to the file.
It sounds relatively straight-forward, but is it?
Thanks
Martin

Hi there,
In an access db, I want to add a field called 'FileName' and simply add a link to a file. In tabular view, would I simply put 'filesmynotes.txt' into the database? Also, when I asp this to a web page, should it (or can it) show as a hyperlink?
Thanks,
Greg
Is it possible to link external file again when database is ready and the source file has been moved to other location?
And going farther -> is it possible to create some kind of dialog wich prompts user to point the external file as linked?
Thanks!
What I have is a bunch of files located in another Drive (PDF). I would like to link to them by id number from access.
Is this possible?
Hello..
Here is what I would like to do. I have a folder say with 100 pdf's. What I would like to do is from an access folder be able to point to the specific pdf and have it create a link within the access form to the pdf they point to... Does this make sense?
Is there a way from within an access form that you can have a button that lets the end user look in a folder and select the pdf... and then create and store the link in an access form???
Thanks
