I'm wondering what would be the best way to update a list of records based on today's date. Right now I have it to open the form based on the LAST record and then navigate to the record they would like to update, I would only like to show what was entered that day.
View RepliesI have a "Status" combobox, I'd like the "Date Case Closed" field to auto fill today's date when "Status" combobox = Closed. The way I know how to do this is by using an IIf with Date() function, but, if I do that, the date is gonna keep changing everyday. Do I have options to do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a database which stores information relating to club members, which I'm in the middle of giving a bit of a facelift and one thing I want to automate is the calculation of the expiry date.
My memberships expire annually at the end of December and the expiry date is set as a default value within the table properties. This has to be manually changed every September (every new member from then pays for 15 months) to the following December.
Is there a formula I can insert in the defaul value field that will return December the current year if todays date is between January and August, and December next year if todays date is between September and December?

One the face of it it sounds quite simple - i have a table that holds various bits of info about a customer but also a field that contains a holiday period - what i want to be able to do is show all records that do not equal todays date.
So if today was 11/04/06 - and one of my customers had 11/04/06
as one of his holiday days he would not appear on the report but all the others would.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have a basic trouble ticket type database that I built. It records troubles and auto fills the date and time when a new records created. I want a simple query that will display the number of calls that each person has taken today.
The problem being that If I use >Date()-1 I will get calls from this time yesterday until now. Is there a way to round down the time to today only? I don't want to lose my time stamp.

The query is showing records where my field named Test1 is null.
I want to update records with null in the field to today's date (the date of the day that it is run) formatted as 18/08/2014 and the field next to it is named Updated (which is yes/no) from un-ticked to ticked for the updated values.

I am trying to set up a user friendly front end to my database. I would like to have a form which allows the user to enter information into text boxes and then press a button which finds the relevant record(s).
I would like to use it to pin point an employee's record based on at least one piece of information, but possibly combined with up to four more by entering into these boxes. For example personnel number, surname, first name etc.
Is this possible and how do I go about setting it up?
I am aware of the filter function and queries but I can't seem to get either to operate in the way I have envisaged. They don't appear to offer the most user friendly solution, at least not in the format I have tried.

I have a dataset of about 70 columns but would like to remove any two rows that sum to zero (based on two columns) if the column "Units" are the same for the same "Bar code" thus to say "for the same 'Units' (for any two lines), check to see if their respective 'Bar Codes’ are the same and if so remove if their amounts sums to zero".
I have the following code which seems to be working but for relatively large data ( about 5k), it does not select all the data that meets the criteria:

Is there a way to make a form that will display all records based on a single date, at the same time, in the same format each and every time?I have a table which has the following fields:

Now, I would quite like to keep the form in a style similar to all the others I have, not least as I have to cater for users of all age and abilities, so keeping things as simple. I have attached an image - each row to represent a record basically, I would like the form to open and show the same layout on each day (I would place the textboxes etc in route groups); a null value would not be allowed for at least one field in each record, I could force the records to populate the form in the same way each day?
When I add a record to table A (using a form) the first field I enter is a date. That date will then determine which records I see in my drop down list from table B (via a query).
Some records in table B have EffectiveFrom and EffectiveTo dates recorded - because they are now obsolete, other records have no dates recorded in these fields because they active.
How can I view and then select from the drop down only those records in table B which are effective/valid to the date entered in table A?
How can I add 7 days in todays date to store target date in the table?

I have a database that is used (partially) to enter appointments during a day. In the appointment column I've entered the date and time as dd-mmm-yyy-hh-nn-ss. I'm now trying to search for appointments entered on a specific day through a user input ([Enter Date] in the query criteria) Problem is, this only returns records where the time hasn't been entered and the time shows as 00:00:00.
I've tried CDate which gives me add/mmm/yyy return. if I try to search against that I get nil returns though. As a test I put DATE() in the criteria but it then says that it's an invalid foremat. I've also tried various machinations of "Like" and "Between" without success.
What's the formula we can use to calculate days between no of days between date job is open and today's date in a query. I am using formulat below formula but the DATE_OPEN and Today (todays date) pops us as enter parameter value. I dont want those enter parameter windows pops us. The date job is open is in a linked table and linked table is getting the information from BPCS software. The date in Liinked is in format YYYYMMDD.

I have been building a database for use in a charity shop and am struggling with an issue regarding one of the forms.
I currently have a form which displays all expenses from the shop. I have added a combo box to the top of this form which allows users to filter records based on an expense ID Code. It all works fine but I would like to be able to add a start date and end date box to the form also so that records can be shown between two dates.
I have tried adding parameter boxes to the query which runs the form (which works) but the issue I am having is that when a new id is selected from the combo box the parameter boxes pop up again asking me for start date and end date again. This happens every time a new combo box id is selected.
I think the way resolve this issue may be to add a start date and end date box to the form but I don't know how to implement this.

We are getting in files from a vendor that come in with today's date and different extensions and prefixes such as BA0003.20121217.pdf or MYLOOKUP.20121217.psv where the only constant is the date, there are over 100 files that I need to change the date part to today's date. I would like to find all the data before the first period and all the data after the last period and replace the date part with todays date.

I am working on MS Access 2010 and have come across a bit complex situation. I have a table with about 20 fields. In a main form, I have added 4 sub-forms where each sub-form is showing 5 fields of each record from the table. This is because of step by step data entry into the same record. I have made these sub-forms as "Continuous Forms" and have given them look of Data Sheet.
There are about 1000 records currently present in the table and these are showing in my sub-forms (5 fields each). Now the problem is that, when I have my Focus on one record in my first sub-form to enter some data, and then I click on second tab of sub-form, the same records should be shown in second sub-form as well. Currently it is not being happening and I have to scroll down my second sub-form to search that particular record. It will become much more difficult when number of records will increase.
How can I work it around and get my cursor on the same record on every sub-form?
When a form in my database is loaded I want access to check if a textbox on the form is showing today's date and if not send me an email. I'm quite new to VBA so not 100% sure what to do but I've had a few attempts and none seem to work. I have managed what is probably the hard part and can get it to email me but can't seem to get the 'If the textbox is not today's date then' bit right.
The textbox is linked to a table and the data type is 'Date/Time', it does show the time and the date so don't know if this makes a difference? The text box is [DateUpdated] and the form is [Site].
I have an access database with a query which inserts system date/time from Now() function to a column. My system date is 12-05-14 (12 May 14) and when it is inserting in the table is taken as 05-12-14 (5 Dec 14).

The first section includes 2 text boxes for Eligibility Number (field name = EligibilityNum) and the second for School (SchoolName). The second section is a subform called sfrmSchools that includes all the eligibility numbers, schools and other useful information.
I have created an Access 2003 database from a ledger. The main key is an eligibility number that corresponds to a school. There are over 2000 schools in my database. How can I program Access to automatically find the record (eligibility number or school) if I type it in the first section. For instance if I was looking for a given school with an eligibility number of 5670A0324. If I type in '56' I would be taken to those eligibility numbers with 56 to show. Same for if I typed in the name of a school. If the school I wanted started with 'D', I would be taken to them.
How do I write a Access 2010 Web database expression to give me the number of days between a particular field eg [sold date] and todays date?

I have a DB with Start Date (dd.mm.yyyy), End Date (dd.mm.yyyy) and Quarters. We have 4 Quarters (Jan-March, April-June, July-Sep, Oct-Dec) and extra columns of month (xxx) and year (yyyy) too.
The problem is the front end users have access permissions to modify the dates. if they change the start date and end date then they are manually gonna change other fields like quarter, month and year too (Which they don't want). The users don't need to manually update the column values for Quarter, Month and Year
For Example,
If the user modifies Start Date to: 22.05.2014 and End Date to: 24.06.2014 (then the quarter column should be fixed to 2nd quarter and month should be June and year should be 2014).
2nd Example: We need to consider the End Date for classifying the quarters, Month and Year
If the Start Date is: 22.05.2014 and End Date is: 24.12.2014 (then the quarter column should be fixed to 4th quarter and month should be December and year should be 2014).
The solution is when ever the front end user modifies the dates then automatically the quarter, month and year columns need to be changed.

I have a table that stores records by "return date". I would like to create a delete query that removes all records that fall outside of the date range entered on a specific form (frmMainMenu).
I can deleted the records that match the form criteria, however that is not what I need. The criteria used to delete the records was:
Between [Forms]![frmMainMenu]![from date] And [Forms]![frmMainMenu]![to date]
Let's say that the frmMainMenu contain the date range of 8/1/05 to 8/10/05, however the table contained data from 6/1/05-8/14/05, I would like for the query to delete all records that have a date 6/1/05-07/31/05 and 08/11/05-08/14/05.
