Validate Date Entered Is Between Monday And Friday

Nov 21, 2006

Hello, all;

I think this is probably a simple solution for some of you.

I have a database containing records for which I need to set dates to follow up on.

I would like to ensure that the date that is entered is a business day (So that when I run my follow up report for the day - I don't end up missing items that were inadvertantly entered for a weekend!)

I have hunted around for a similar thread - but have not found anything.

I am thinking that a simple bit of validation could be entered for the field properties.

Any ideas?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Forms :: Main Menu Form Not Maximized?

Apr 25, 2014

I have a front end that I have distributed to four users. The front end sits on a shared drive and when I make design changes I just replace it and have the users copy it over to their desktops.

I set up a main menu for them to access the various forms, reports, etc. When I first open the front end on my desktop the main menu form is small and not taking up the entire screen. I put the cmd.maximize command in the on open event and still does not maximize the form when I open the database. I tried to size it and saved changes but still not working.

I just did a share session with a user and she opened the form and it was maximized on her desktop.

Forms :: Limiting Continues Form To Accept 7 Lines And Dating Them With Current Week?

Jul 29, 2013

Form info

1st Form Name: Mainform
Text to enter employee ID : empid

Sub form within Mainform: SFTimesheet (continues form)
text to enter: Timein, Break, Timeout

SFTimesheet shows and accept entries for each employee called using the text empid, on the mainform

I wanted the subform to show 7 days /lines starting from Sunday to Saturday of current week and dating the text "Timein" accordingly. When employee enteres an entry on the 7th Line, it should give them a new 7 lines for the new week to begin.

Database With A Main Menu Form Containing A Button That Loads Main Data Entry Form

Forms :: Main Form With 2 Subforms Fails To Open Current Record

May 12, 2014

I have a main form "frmDriverNoticeRecord" with 2 subforms, "frmSubDriverNotice" and "frmSubVehicleRecord"..The main form uses "IncidentID" as the PK. Each form stores data in its own table. The tables are related via IncidentID and there is a 1-many relationship between tblIncident (main) and tblDN (sub) and tblVehicle (sub).

I have a form "frmIncidentLog" displaying records in a table view with a few fields for quick reference and to allow selection of a single record for detailed viewing. I created a command button with the intent to open the "frmDriverNoticeRecord" at the current record. The main form and child link fields appear to be linked correctly; i.e. IncidentID on all three. If I open the form manually it opens and I can use it and search and filter as I want. If I try to open it via the command button It opens a small window asking for the IncidenID, when I enter theIncidentID number, it opens the form to the first record every time.Here is the code:

Private Sub comOpenDR_Click()

Dim frmName As String
Dim recID As String
frmName = "frmDriverNoticeRecord"
recID = "[IncidentID]=" & Me![IncidentID]
DoCmd.OpenForm frmName, , , recID
End Sub

I tried running the the DoCmd.OpenForm command directly from the button using the where condition (in various manners) with the same results.

Forms :: Closing Opening Form With Timer Then Opening Main Menu

Apr 7, 2014

I have a Form opening from Access Options. I would like to close this Form using the Timer. The following is the code I have used but it is not working.

Private Sub Cover_Page_Form_Load()
OpenTimer = Timer
End Sub
Private Sub Cover_Page_Form_Timer()
If (Timer - OpenTime) = 5 Then DoCmd.Close acForm, "Cover_Page_Form", acSaveYes
End Sub

Next question. If I can get this to work can I then use a DoCmd to open new Form within the code above or do I need a new process.

Deactivating Main Menu Bar

Jun 1, 2005

Hey Guys,

Is there any way of deactivating the main Menu Bar ("File","Edit","Insert","Format") when a form opens?

I need to implement this for a single form to stop an idiot user from trying to break the system! :mad: He's not doing it on purpose - he's just ignorant and doesn't listen or understand when I try to explain to him NOT to add a record by using the "Insert - new record" command, but to use the command button on the form which has some built in safety features (such as password protection).

I've managed to get rid of some of the other ones by using the coding below:
Application.CommandBars("Form View").Enabled = False
Application.CommandBars("Formatting (Form/Report)").Enabled = False
Application.CommandBars("Formatting (Page)").Enabled = False

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Rusty

Week Number Of The Current Month

May 24, 2005

Hello everyone.

I would like to ask for help on my current problem.

I need to input a date on a text box and another text box say txtweeknumber should determine the week number the date falls on the current month.

for example:

May 1, 2005 should fall on week 1 and txtboxweeknumber should say Week 1
May 9, 2005 should fall on week 2 and txtboxweeknumber should say Week 2
May 17, 2005 should fall on week 3 and txtboxweeknumber should say Week 3
May 25, 2005 should fall on week 4 and txtboxweeknumber should say Week 4
May 30, 2005 should fall on week 5 and txtboxweeknumber should say Week 5

Same goes for all months.
Is there a function to determine which week number of the current month the input date falls?

Please help.

Thanks,

Edwin

Queries :: Count By Current Week

Dec 26, 2013

Curretnly I have a query setup with Area, EventDate, & Complete. I want to be able to count each occurance of complete in current week. So far I have the following criteria under EventDate.

DatePart("ww",[EventDate])=DatePart("ww",Date()) And Year([EventDate])=Year(Date()).

So, this does in fact get me the records of current week, the issue I'm having is when an area has occurences daily. It will not bulk that area into a weekly count. I just need to be able to see how many occurances happen in the week total not daily. So my results could be.

Office1 5
Office2 1
Office2 1
Office2 1
Office2 1
Office2 1
Office3 5

I would like to be able to look up inventory by serial number, edit inventory, add inventory, and run reports from the main menu. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Access 2010 - Search Field On Main Menu?

May 7, 2014

Currently I have a basic database with the following

Table 1 = "EmployeeT" with fields "Employee_ID", "First_Name", "Last_Name" etc.
Table 2 = "NewLabReportT" with fields "Report_ID", "Report_History", "Submitted_By", "Reviewed_By", "Date_Submitted", "Report_Title", "Abstract"

Form 1 = "MainMenuF" this is where I would like to have the search
Form 2 = "NewLabReportF" with fields "Report_ID", "Report_History", "Submitted_By", "Reviewed_By", "Date_Submitted", "Report_Title", "Abstract"
Form 3 = "EmployeeF" with fields "Employee_ID", "First_Name", "Last_Name" etc.

Problem:I would like to have on the Main Menu a drop down list with all of the fields described in NewLaBReportF ("Report_ID", "Report_History", "Submitted_By", "Reviewed_By", "Date_Submitted", "Report_Title", "Abstract") and then allow the user to click a button to the side of it to alert a pop up.

In this pop up:

If they originally clicked "Report_Id" then have the message prompt then to "Enter a Report ID"
If they originally clicked "Submitted_By" then have the message prompt them to "Enter an employees Last Name"
etc...

Further More, after they enter the respective value in this box, have a FORM not a REPORT generate that lists all of the records that match the criteria. This way then can specifically click on each record individually and have it open directly up to it.
