I intended to get a Value from a Query for a textbox, so I tried to use the Domainfunction DFirst.
Code:

but now the box just shows #error and blinks like crazy.
I am currently working on a form. I used textbox to set the value of currency and sumif to total nett price for all of data with that specified currency.
How can I get the value of the textbox?
I use formula :
=Sum(IIf([Currency]="USD",[NettPrice],0))
And it's worked. It sums up all net price with USD currency
However, the currency types are so many and it's impossible for me to list them down one by one, so I use this formula :
=Sum(IIf([Currency]=[txtCurrenct],[NetPrice],0))
But it keep showing 0 result.
I have a .csv file where I need to parse out the information.
I have imported the .csv file into access and all the data is in [Field1]
Instead of using query design, I want to create a user interface [Form] where anyone can input in the textbox the position and length of a mid function.
Example:
Last name: Position = 1 Length =15

I have a form for my customers where i also fill in the email adresses, know i don't wan't to fill in the hole email adres each time. I have seen a acces database before that gives a list when you typed the @ sign in the email adres field.I know that the builder used a tbldomain for listing al the domains that the putin the database. and each time you tab to the field emailsadres you begin to type
example.. markrutten@ and when you type the @ there popup a list of the table [tbldomain] en you begin to type for example Hotmail.com but you can hit the entrebutton afther the letters hot because the match of Hotmail.com is already in the field.
I am currently working on small access 2010 database where the database consists of a table and one input form. This input form will be mainly used by two persons. In the form there is a dropdown where one selects his name to keep record who entered the data, however I would like this to be according the logged in domain account. This will make sure none of them selects the wrong user by mistake.
Is there a way how get the current logged on domain account into the form ?
I am currently the administrator of a fairly large network and am trying to keep inventory of all my domain assets. I would like to be able to search for these assets by a number of different ways such as computer name, location name (ie: CEO office, accounts receiveable, or human resources), slot number on my switches (I would like to know whats connected to where), and also what switch it is located on. Right now I am using a combo box to populate these fields but would like to implement a search function instead to be able to search with whatever information I have.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAlright, I've got all the pieces to this puzzle, I just can't fit them together properly. I have two tables, tblTickets and tblTicketNotes. They are in a one-to-many relationship, there can be multiple Notes attached to a single ticket. I am trying to set up a query that will pull the first (earliest by date) note for each individual Ticket. Here are the fields from each table that would be of concern here:
tbTickets
TicketID - Autonumber - Primary Key
Issue - Text - I will be using this later as a criteria to limit with, but not neccessary
tblTicketNotes
NoteID - Autonumber - Primary Key
TicketID - Long Integer - This is the foreign key of the relationship
DateStamp - Date/Time - This is the Note Date, I only want the first (earliest date) one
Content - Memo -This is the note information I want
So all I want is the Content of the first/earliest Note for each individual Ticket. I know this should be fairly easy, but I am at a loss.
The situation is I have two queries, one uses the other as a source, and the other uses DSUM with the source query as it's domain.
For example: I have one query called RetailCDState, this prompts the user for the name of a state (i.e. Texas), and then prompts for the name of the CD (i.e. Joshua Tree). The query returns the number of CD's sold for each retail store entered for that state.
I have another query called, TotalRetailState. This query uses RetailCDState as it's source. I pull some fields down into the QBE so that the CDname, state, artist name, etc will be shown. This works.
HERE IS THE PROBLEM. I have created 3 expression fields: TotalCDSOLD, TotalCDSHIP, and TotalCDRETURN. In these expression fields I have used DSUM, I want to use the query RetailCDState as the domain, which the help files said I can. However, it's giving me an expression error saying that it can't find the 'state' or 'CD Name', which is what should prompt the user when the whole thing is executed.
I get 3 error messages, one for each expression field, and then it prompts the user for the correct input, but then doesn't display the information. Here is an example of my DSUM line TotalCDSHIP: DSUM("[NumofCDSold]","RetailCDState")
I shouldn't need any criteria, because the results of the RetailCDState is what I want to total.
PLEASE HELP! :(
How to update unbound textbox on main form from unbound textbox in subform afterupdate.
that is when amount paid is updated it automatically updates total paid, balance etc.
One Query cannot store 2 different textbox in different forms:
Query Name: rem
Form Name: QR
Form Name: Pro
Query parameter: Forms!QR!txtbox1
Forms!Pro!txtbox2
I tried it, it cannot run.
If you run the form "Pro" and run the query rem, then you will get the message:
Forms!QR!txtbox1?????
same thing if you run the form QR and the query rem
I also have a query that displays a date, I would like this date to be displayed within the textbox, not sure how to do this?

I have a textbox that displays the sum of the ClockHrs field.
The textbox contains no code behind.

I have a database for billing. In my database, I have a form that consists of a main form "Order" and 2 subforms "OrderDetails" and "Customer" OrderDetails are to enter the products to be connected to the Order. All function super, but I want to have some information from one of the forms "copied" over to on of the others.
Here is what I would like
In the subform "OrderDetails" I have made a textbox that summarize all prices to a total, his tekstbox i called "Tekst31". I would like the amount in this textbox to appear in a field "Bel�b" in the main form "Order".
I have tried some different commands, but nothing has worked, also I have made a query which dose the same ting as the tekstboks, as the information in that tekstbox it not stored anywhere.
Basically, I originally wanted to create a form which I can input data into Access with by using a button (I was unable to get Access to append the information from the forms to the table, so it didn't work out!). I did not want the fields on the form to be linked to a table, as then a record (and most importantly an auto-number) is created as soon as somebody starts typing. Should somebody stop typing halfway through and quit the form an autonumber will have been generated, which makes the number of "users" seem higher than it actually is. I got around this by changing the field from autonumber to number and then creating a query that selects the maximum value of ID in the table, then adds 1 to it (which is essentially the lowest unique number. I tend to call this newID).
The problem I now have is setting this to be written to the table alongside the data from the form (the rest of the fields on the form are now connected to the table, as I am no longer using an autonumber). I have tried the following: Setting the form to run the expression "[ID] = [qryMaximumUserID]![NewID] " on load. This returns the error "The object doesn't contain the Automation object 'qryMaximumUserID.' Setting the control source of the text box to be dLookup. This fills the textbox with the correct value, but then it doesn't write it to the table! Setting the default value of the field to be 0, then running an update query to update any ID of 0 (criteria "0" to the value of newID "update to: [qryMaximumUserID].[NewID]. "). However this doesn't work as whenever the query is run it asks for a parameter to be entered, rather than just taking the value from the other query. Writing a macro that is run on load to SetValue of item:[ID] to expression: [Forms]![qryMaximumUserID]![NewID]. However this returns an error "Microsoft Access cannot find the referenced form 'qryMaximumUserID' you entered in the expression.
I have a text box on 'Forma' & a textbox (named text3) on 'Formb'.
I want to copy the contents of the textbox from 'Formb' to the textbox on 'Forma'. I have used the following code in the textbox on 'Forma'....

This doesn't seem to be working whether both Forms are open or only 'Forma'. Could somebody please advise as to what I am missing. Your assistance is very much appreciated.
Doing a school project and need to add a count function to a sub form that is based on my query. The count function just needs to be displayed on the bottom of the sub form showing how many records are in the sub form.
When I do this, the function works all good.
When I add the function to a header or footer, so that it doesn't show a column and repeat itself each time.

I'm trying to pass the date in a text box which exists in a form called "d3FormAging". The text box name is "KPIDate". The query looks like this:

For some reason Access doesn't recognize the "[Forms]![d3FormAging]![KPIDate]" when I pass it to the function. I get run-time error 3070 with information that Access can't recognize this expression even though the code should be correct as it's made with the expression builder and I'm sure the form that contains the text box is open when the query runs.
I have a project at hand and it's been a predecessor of mine and client has asked me to do some work on it and extend functionality - but I have not really delved into Access before and I have had to worked my way through to this final snag :/
The Main Form has one sub form. This sub form allows the user to add multiple order items i.e. qty, stock, description from records within the system - fairly straight forward.At the last column of each row is the sub total of those particular items i.e.

So the total is a function of =[Qty Unit] * [Unit Price].Then in the Footer of this SubForm is the Sub Total

All fine and well..... However, the additional functionality kicks in.
Lets add the additional customer_id from the Main Form. Each Item bought is dependent on the customer_id i.e. they get special prices depending on who they are.So a New table is made which has the Item ID and SpecialPriceID (of a table to define as a specialPrice) and the Price linked to this Item and Special Price category. So say that there are two groups of users "wholesale" and "nonwholesale" these would be SP_1 and SP_2 and each client is defined either one of these, and each stock item has a Price for each SP_1 and SP_2. Hopefully I've explained myself there.
Back to the SubForm. So now the Total needs to calculated differently with needed the external customer_id from the Main Form.

its the sub total I just keep on getting #Error on. I have even watched (using alerts) that the correct return variable is the same as the individual rows. This is the equation I used for the SubTotal within the footer.

I currently have two froms, "add record" and "add record cont." The reason I have two seperate forms is because when clients create a new record information needs to be saved to two different tables and when creating one from with fields from both tables I ran into many problems. The two tables are named : tblMain, tblFileLoc Currently there is a textbox on both forms named "fileID" the FileID in the first form is from tblMain and is the primary key for that table, the FileID on the second form "Add Record Cont." is just a normal field. When clients enter in the new FileID in the first form "Add Record" and then move onto the next form "Add Record Cont." i need access to bring the entered FileID from the first form and Fill it in the FileID field in the second form. Currently I have tried making the control source for the textbox on the second form = the textbox on the first form but it brought up an error.

Each record has a DMin control to find the lowest price for its product (each product can have many suppliers and therefore many prices). I need to put a control in the subform footer containing the sum of the minimum prices.
Access doesn't seem to want to sum calculated controls, so could someone please point me in the direction of how to go about doing this or achieving the same result through a different method?
We have a database created in access 2000 laying on a server that two clients connect to using access 2000 from WinXP Pro. We have just moved the database from our old win2000 server to a 2003 server. The clients now logon to a 2003 domain instead of the old 2000.
Since we moved to 2003 only one user can open the database at a time, when the second user tries to open nothing happens. There's no error message, there's just nothing happening! When the first user close access the other user can open the db.
What's going on????

I tried my damnedest to find something about this elsewhere in the forums but drew a blank.. so i figured I'd see what asking the question direct yeilds.
I would like to initiate workgroup level security to my database. but have no password required because i want to tie it to the username that is logged into the computer when the user logs into the domain initially? any thoughts?
Is there any way to lookup items using DLookup or other functions that will return an array of values not just the first value found. Example: I have three employees in a complaint query. I am using Dlookup to identify them on my employee form. When I get to the same employee/employee id on my employees form, I have a label that flashes red to flag me that this employee appears on that complaint query. The problem that I am having is that it only flashes for the first employee found in the query, and the label only flashes for that one person. I would like the label to flash for the other two employees because the function should see that they are in the query results as well. Help please?!!!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to deploy an Access db to about 8 PC's in a domain.I use the "Linked Table Manager" to set the connection details to MS Sql Server using an ODBC data source.My problem is when I have it running on 1 PC in the domain I thought I could just copy it and put it onto other PC's and it would just connect to the database with no issues, but I get an ODBC error and I need to re-create the ODBC source again on that PC.
How can I deploy the Access DB with out having to do the ODBC settings again.
