Forms :: How To Design A Form For All Records In A Single Page
Mar 28, 2014
How to design a form for a table based all records to design in a single form without top to bottom list wise and without scroll bars. Need to form design for all record details are will show on a form as side by side only as horizontal list wise.
For Ex. I have attached the screen shot image as per horizontal wise records continues.
My database allows you to log issues (see attached)
An issue will belong to the project, the project may have multiple test plans.
The issue will also be the primary responsibility of a company, and that company may have multiple contacts (people)
Now, i could create a form over the top of each table but then if someone wanted to add a new project, testplans for that project, suppliers (companies) for that project AND new contacts for those companies, they are going to end up going through loads, and loads of forms.
So my question is, what approach would you recommend to create a control panel where they could add these items with the fewest number of page switches possible? (preferably none.
I have a report having data from query i have taken only 4 fields from query in detail section of report in design view.
What i want is that the report to print for single record single page means currently it is printing one more record on one page which i don't want and i want the report to show or print like all four fields for one record on one page how to do this...
I've created a button on my ACCESS 2010 form that will send a PDF via email. However I only need to send the single record displayed on the form not all records.
The on click command of the button sends the PDF of the report. (I read that this is what should be sent; but still get the same results.)
I don't understand how and where to attach VBA code:
Is there a way to prevent a user from switching records on a single page form when he rolls his/her mouse wheel. I have noticed that users accidentally scroll the wheel, and this switches them to the next record.
I need for them to remain at the current record they have chosen, or at the new record they are working on.
Currently we track areas of non-conformance for a fleet of flight simulators. Each flight simulator has a particular ID number. In some instance an area of non-conformance is associated with a single simulator, at other times it is a fleet wide issue and applies to all or some simulators. In order to track as well as advise leadership and the contractor responsible for maintenance of the simulators of the situation we generate individual response letters.
In order to track each instance of non-conformance my idea was to create a new record for each deficiency. In the event that it is applicable to multiple simulators I would like to fill out the form with all pertinent data and then place a checkbox associated with each simulator and when the record is saved, it creates one record for each simulator with a checkbox ticked.
Once the deficiency on each simulator is fixed, I would check a box for a field called rescinded, which would remove that particular deficiency on that particular simulator from the active list of deficiencies but the others would still remain because they are associated with unique records.
I have put much time in designing a form. After exiting and saving it, I cannot now open it. Only the Page Header shows, and I cannot get into 'Design' mode. I have tried repairing and compacting to no avail. Any ideas?
I have one-page forms which print a second page, blank except for a block of grey shading at the top. I have tried moving the content of the form up but that doesn't eliminate the second page. If I look at print preview, every second page of the entire database shows up as blank, regardless of where that happens to appear in the record.
I have a database of high-school football players, and I am looking to print out single page reports (or forms) that will show detail from several tables and queries. This will act as their resume when they visit schools on recruiting visits. The reason for needing query items, is that I have developed queries that return the most up to date height, weight, 40 time etc., and that single most up to date number is what should print, not the entire table. When I try to build a report it will let me bring in multiple tables, but not queries.
From advice I have read on here I have worked out how to create a button on a form which opens a report to show the values which match the record open on the form. It then attaches that page as a txt file to an email. Which is great.
What I would like it to do though is insert into the body text of the email the text from the report. Have looked as much as I can at the properties of DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport but cannot achieve this myself.
What I have is pretty much this: Code:DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport, "Your matching details this week", acFormatTXT, Me!PersonEmail, , , "Details this week " & Date, "Please see the attached text file for details this week which match your selection criteria.", False
How can I make the text appear within the email body?
I have small database in ms access which i am using for invoice creation. When invoice is created i save it as PDF. I would like merge another single Page PDF along with the report as 2nd page so end report is 2 page PDF.
Second how can i get 1 PDF from 2 ms access reports.
I have a database that is strictly for generating and printing work orders. Our supervisors use it to print new work orders on the fly. normally that is fine. I have the Vb to print that specific work order
what I need to create is a VB that would allow other people to create a work order that would email it to the those supervisors. email addresses will always be the same. I just dont want to send the entire report.
Is there a way to make a form that will display all records based on a single date, at the same time, in the same format each and every time?I have a table which has the following fields:
ID (Autonumber, PK) ServiceDate RunningNumber BonnetNumber Deallocate (yes/no)
Now, I would quite like to keep the form in a style similar to all the others I have, not least as I have to cater for users of all age and abilities, so keeping things as simple. I have attached an image - each row to represent a record basically, I would like the form to open and show the same layout on each day (I would place the textboxes etc in route groups); a null value would not be allowed for at least one field in each record, I could force the records to populate the form in the same way each day?
If I have a report and it has controls (labels representing column titles) in the page header. Now when I print the report - if it happens that the last page has no detail records - but there is text boxes and so forth in the report footer. Is there a way to not display the page header on the last page?
I have a report where the last page shows the page header - and the field/column labels on the page header - but for which there is no detail records left to display - on the last page. There is report footer information that should display. It just looks weird because the field/column labels show at the top of the page - but there is no data remaining to print under them on that last page.
I already have a form where you specific the date and the store I've purchased something at. I want to be able to add several products I've purchased to a table and define their price, using the same form, so I don't have to input the date and store type for each purchased product.
So, when the form updates the table, it will create a new record for each product, using the product description and price - defined for each product - and using the date and store - defined once - as elements of the record. Is there a way of doing this?
I'm quite familiar with creating tables, forms and queries with the design wizard - not so familiar with using scripts, but I've had a small amount of experience with manipulating databases using MySQL, so I'm willing to learn anything that may be necessary to achieve what I need.
I am basically looking for a way to display the total number of records for a selected number of tables and queries in my database on one screen or on one single page view. The problem with using reports or forms is that they tend to bind you to a single table as a record source. This summary would require multiple tables and queries. The summary data would look something like this with a total coming from a Count() or count type function:
# of records: 3000 # of records to insert: 500 # of records to delete: 400 # of records to update: 2100 # of records changing location: 100
I've been trying to get my head round this one , but i'm just to thick to get it.
I have a continuous form that lists all items at a certain location. The user selects a record by clicking on the record selector and then clicks on a command button with this code:
The user then enters inspection details in to the "DivingInspectionCert" form which i want to store in a table (DivingCert) which will relate to the item. On completion of this form the user then clicks on a command button with this code:
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSaveRecord
If Me.RecordsetClone.RecordCount = 0 Then MsgBox "There are no items to Print", vbInformation, "EquiTrac" End Else DoCmd.OpenReport "DivingInspectionRpt", , , ("EquipmentID = " & Me!EquipmentID) DoCmd.Close
When i click on this button, the report doesn't print and i get a message "No current record". The inspection details are not stored in the table. I did have the forms RecordSource based on the table "DivingCert" but that didn't work and i have just tried a query but it is still not working.
Would be much appreciated if you can help me. Thank you
I am trying to design a subform to allow multiple records to be entered and then uploaded to a table. I've designed the subform but it is currently pulling all of the records from the table through and all I want is a blank subform for data entry.
I have tried putting a macro in the On Load and On Open events to get it to go to a new record but I keep getting error number 2046.
I Work for an NHS organization. A department here orders prescriptions and sends them out to Gp Surgeries. I have been tasked in designing a database to make this easier for them.
Prescriptions arrive on a Pallet. Each pallet has 100 Boxes of prescriptions on it. Each box Contains 2000 Individual prescriptions. I have a table which contains the following:
Box Number Serial Start Number Serial End Number
When the user enters the first box number and the serial start number, i need it to calculate the serial end number and insert another 99 rows into the table and also calculate the serial start and end numbers for these other 99 records.
When I right click a row on the data sheet side of a split form an select "New Record" I want the curser to go to the first field on the single record side. I've placed this in the OnCurrent but it did no good.
Code:
If Me.NewRecord Then Me!Descrfiption.SetFocus. End If
Any way to set the focus to the single form Side of a split form?
I'm building a simple access database to be used in a factory. It's pretty much there now, in the sense that it does all it needs to do, but some things feel a little "clunky". One of these things is the page where new products are created.
When a product is created the user has to specify what raw materials it's made up of and that works great, there is a continuous sub form that lets the user just add a row for every raw material. Having it as a continuous form makes sense as there can be lots of rows or just a few, so it's flexible.
Currently though the labour/time on that page works in the same way. But it feels a bit silly as there are only 3 sorts of labour (at least currently, they might add a couple more later). The labour types are..
- Build - Finishing - Handling
My question is, how would I go about turning the existing continuous row-by-row subform for labour into a single form that just listed those three types of labour (read from my labour type table)? So that it just shows a row that asks for quantity of each available labour type.
Not all products have all types of labour but it would be fine to write a 0 in the labour table for (for example) Finishing against a product that for example didn't need Finishing Labour. Obviously with the current continuous form approach no row would be written for Finishing if the user didn't select that.
I guess I could hardcode a single form to show the three current types, but ideally it would be flexible, coping with new labour types when the users find they need to add them.
I need to find a way to print the currently selected record (by clicking a button in the form) as a form. I know printing is almost always done in records, but they use the forms by hand before entering them into the computer database.
One tough part of this is that this printing function needs to be sustainable through revisions of the form, as we will be constantly updating it.
Is there a way to print the form with only the current record shown without creating a second form or report?
I have 1 table, 1 form and 1 report. I am trying to get the report to display just one entry on the table at a time, so I can preview it, then print or create a pdf from it.
I am stumped when it comes to coding - a complete newbie to it if I may also add - but I am sure there is a way of just displaying the record that is currently open in the form, as the report.
And is there a way to get the report to just display and print one entry rather than the whole bunch!!
