View RepliesI have 2 page tabs on a form, and I want an incremental number assigned to each new record on that page.
Been doing some research and this is what I came up with:

it does not work and I am getting no error message.
I have seen large projects in which there are clearly several printed database reports printed out to make one booklet.
1. How does one get page numbers for multiple reports to go in sequence instead of starting over again at 1 for each report.
2. How can you add a page reference in one report to something in another report?
Do you have to do these things by hand or is there a way to create a something with auto numbering capabilities? Do you do it by importing the reports to MS Word and creating a master document?
I was searching for a solution to this problem and found a thread called "Changing page numbers?" from 2012 but it is not clear : [URL] .....
I have two issues with my report. The first is the page number. The print control on the correlating form allows the user to print a range of reports based on the TransmittalID number. TransmittalID #1 is a 2 page report and #2 is a single page report but when I choose print from ID 1 to 2 the page numbering says page x of 3 instead of page 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 for ID #1 and page 1 of 1 for ID #2. Following along the thread above I managed to reset the page numbers to restart at 1 for each page but that is as far as I got. I'm not sure where to enter the code that was provided.
My second problem is that the report footer contains a signature line; however, printing a range is resulting in this only showing on page 3. How do I set this that for each new ID# start a new report. I've tried force new page, inserting page breaks but no luck.
I have one-page forms which print a second page, blank except for a block of grey shading at the top. I have tried moving the content of the form up but that doesn't eliminate the second page. If I look at print preview, every second page of the entire database shows up as blank, regardless of where that happens to appear in the record.

I am getting the error: Run-time error 2467. The expression you entered refers to an object that is closed or doesn't exist.I am sure the name of my tab form is tabMain.
I have a main form that opens on an autoexec macro.When ever i open up the database the form opens but for some reason it always opens a little way down the page so that you cant see the top and have to scroll back up to the top.
This is rather annoying because i have a tab control and it means you cant click the tabs until you move it back up.
How to design a form for a table based all records to design in a single form without top to bottom list wise and without scroll bars. Need to form design for all record details are will show on a form as side by side only as horizontal list wise.
For Ex. I have attached the screen shot image as per horizontal wise records continues.
to automatically create a second, third, fourth... page depending on how many characters are in the narrative. The only other thing needed to be changed is the page# of Page#.

Hi All
I have added the Allen Browne Calendar 2k control to my form.
My form consists of 4 pages. On pages 2 and 3 I have subforms and on page 4 I have Personal data. Page 1 is general data and the Calendar is on Page 1.
What is happening is that the Calendar is also being displayed on my 4th page, in the same position as page 1. When I try to move it, cover it or delete it from page 4, it is also gone from page 1.
Any suggestions please?

i have just started to use access and i know how to insert the current date into a field using date() but i am not sure will this change the date everytime i open the form ? i want to create a form for invoices that shows the date the invoice was created and doesnt change if i re open for editing,

I have a combo box Customer_Name on Order Form; and I want it open the Customer Form when an user insert a new customer to input all data. This seems simple at first, but problems are these:
1- whenever an user opens Customer Form on a new customer, the user would have to make the input once again (at least retype the customer's name on the field).
2- since the Customer_Name and other fields are required in the table, the Order_form would not allow the user to close it unless all field are filled properly.
Dilemma is you have to fill in the Customer_Name field before the table refresh all records and display it in the combo box on Order Form
My database allows you to log issues (see attached)
An issue will belong to the project, the project may have multiple test plans.
The issue will also be the primary responsibility of a company, and that company may have multiple contacts (people)
Now, i could create a form over the top of each table but then if someone wanted to add a new project, testplans for that project, suppliers (companies) for that project AND new contacts for those companies, they are going to end up going through loads, and loads of forms.
So my question is, what approach would you recommend to create a control panel where they could add these items with the fewest number of page switches possible? (preferably none.

i have a table of calls, with a field called "link to file".
i have a form where staff fill in their calls and when they have completed the call there is an option to insert a hyperlink to where the file is stored.
i previosuly had an attachemnt there but the database would just grow and grow so now its prefered there is a link to where the files are kept.
i just dont know how to set it up, i have tried adding in a text field and setting it to hyperlink which does work but on the form the user has to right click the button and edit hyperlink to place it in - is there an easier way of just clicking the button and it brings up a folder location where you select the file and it saves it as a hyperlink into the table under linked to file?

Since data entry follows in a logical order I would like to put a command button on the bottom of each page (subform) that can be used to go to the next page. What I am going to though? If i put a command button (open form) then it opens the whole form not as a subform on a tabbed page. if I try and put a command button (open page) then it will not let me enter the page number. Hope that makes sense! Any ideas
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Primary Key field named Member ID(Number format) in a Table named Mail List. The field is populated with existing ID numbers and my need is to use my Member Entry Form to increment by 1 from the last entry.
I have gleaned from other references that this can easily be achieved by the following entry in the Default Value of the property sheet for the relevant field;
=DMax("Member ID","Mail List")+1
The Form saves without error but when I attempt to add a new record in the entry form, the ID Number reads "#Error".
One of my forms has a text box which is bound to a field called teenumber. This form is set up that "on current" has code

Me.teenumber = Nz(DMax("teenumber", "tblteeofftimesshotgun"), 0) + 1
This enables the text box teenumber to be auto filled with sequential numbers growing by 1 for each record. This database is for a golf tournament and this form enables user to set up tee times for shotgun start for the players.
When the user gets to tee number 18 or whatever the last hole on the course is the teenumber field needs to be reset to 1. With the above code I a unable to do this.
Creating a form against a table with the following fields
EC
Project
Originator
Title
Full description
Effectivity
Etc....
Easy enough to create the Project combo box, problem comes with trying to systematically assign the next EC number.
When I select a Project from a combo box I want an EC assigned with format ECXXXX-### where XXXX is the project number from the combo box and ### is a sequential number. ECs should start at -001 for all projects.
Do I need to add an EC suffix field to hold just the ###? Then what?
I have a table with 3500 records with following fields : Id_number, Num , Name , Address,.
This table used for store customer data .
My job is print 10 record randomly by customer arrival . I made this by use num field and put number manually, example I put 1 ,2 , 3 .... Till 10 , so for print i made criteria , I put 1 and 10 . Problem is because more and more customer is coming , I got confuse to put number manually . are there any way to get it automatic ?

Select the text box, and in the Properties Window, set these properties:
