I have a form with a subform. I want to use the main form to insert new data and the subform to show all records that are there. One could say that the after inserting a new record with the fields in the form and save it, it should appear in the subform datasheet view.
Please see attached the sample database..
Form invoice has a subform that can show max 6 records. Once more records are involved I want to show the last 6 including the new empty record. How to do that?

1, Products
2, Inventory
3,Purchase.
By using a query I have been able to sort the data entered so that all I have left is a list of products that are below their reorder level and the number that needs to be ordered, great so far, this is what I want, but when I try to create a purchase order form as a form/sub form and put in the query I created, there are no products listed, it seems as if I cannot associate the two together, as soon as I link the query for the sub form with the purchase order form.
What I would like to happen is that when I open the purchase order form I can enter the purchase forms details and have all the products that need to be ordered visible in the sub form, the only way that I can get this to half work is to delete the link master and link child fields. If this is the way to go how do I link these products to the purchase order?
I have a continuous subform. Because the records are often many, the user needs to scroll down the page.
How do I have a text box in each row that shows Record x of Total Records?
I tried setting a text box control source = [currentrecord] in the Detail area of the subform but it didn't work . It did weird things because I suspect the control is trying to show the record that has the focus or something
I have been having issues with a subform on the attached database - for some reason it is not always updating to show corresponding records.
What I am planning, this is effectively going to be an interactive learning portal which can test users as well. There will be learning material (not yet included) and a bank of questions with corresponding multiple-choice answers, only one of which is correct. Each time the main form is loaded (Cat1MainForm) it randomly selects and orders questions, then, via a sub-form, returns three potential answers. There will then be radio buttons with which the users can answer appropriately.
If you load up Cat1MainForm and scroll through various questions you will see that sometimes the answers appear, other times not. Sometimes on one record the answers are there, you navigate away and back, and they have disappeared, and vice-versa.
I am trying to do a simple Do-while loop to display master and relevant transactions in form/subform environment under Access 2003.Below are some of my statements:

then I ha e a main and subform creation with at least the variable "text456" to ensure the master transaction code (i.e. the transcode) has been located and are in the main form. In the subform that I have created, I have a condition as [forms]![mainform].[text456] under the "transcode" field in relevant query file. I have also checked that in the property of subform, both the child and parent linkages are stored the "transcode" variable.
But when I run the program, it only show the "transcode" in main form but no data showing in the subform.
All. using 2010. I have a form and a subform. my master and child links are set but when I scroll thru my form; my subform does not change to show the matching records. I do have an unbound search field for the same field as the master and child links. When I type in the search field for a record; the subform does change to that particular record. Do you think that has anything to do with it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue trying to show all records when I load my form. It loads correctly when I don't have a record source for the main form. However, the combobox filters will not work. My goal is to have users be able to use the datasheet, subdatasheet and combobox filters. I can get the form to work just fine when I link the Main form and subform, but when the form opens it is filtered on the first record. I have been successful with this approach when using other forms, but they didn't require a subdatasheet.
Is there anyway I can have the comboboxes to filter yet be able to show all records until the user selects filters? Is this possible?I finally got my Manager to agree to use a database instead of Excel files based on this form setup and I need to make as "user friendly" as possible (look and function like a spreadsheet) I attached some pics of the form along with the code for the filter.
I have a pretty simple form that includes subform. Subform's table is linked to main form's table with parent/child relation. Connecting fields are main table's ID field and corresponding field in child table. Subform is in datasheet view. This is pretty basic stuff so there should not be any problems, but every time I apply a quick filter in main form it causes data in subform become invisible. There is single row in subform, but all it's fields are empty.

I have a main form which displays data regarding stock takes for a number of locations. The form is bound to a query which is based on a table containing a STOCKTAKE_ID field which is an autonumber field. The STOCKTAKE_ID is present on the main form
I then have a subform which is linked to the mainform via STOCKTAKE_ID.
When I open the form for a particular location the subform displays data, no problem. When I do the same for other locations the form is blank. If I check the table that the subform is based on, there is a record with correct STOCKTAKE_ID but for some reason the form won't display it. There are also no duplicates.
I have a form with a sub form, on the main form I want the user to select a machine number and then when they have selected it I want to populate the required data into the sub form.
In the sub form I have a field called "Seal" and another called "Quantity" what I require is to get the results from either a query or table and list all the seals & quantities for that machine.
I have a table called "Machine" which has all the machine numbers and also fields called "Seal1", "Seal1Qty","Seal2, "Seal2Qty" all the way to Seal 10.
I do not know how the best way to get this data into the sub form...

I have a form which records computer faults reported by users. On this form there is a subform for comment tracking eg. Phoned user, Date/Time. On the next line would be; Informed user to do this, Date/Time and so on. I have a button on my form which I would like to use to automatically put in a line of data. It is an aknowlegde fault button. What it hopefully would do is when you click the button it will automatically put in the date/time in the subform, Then the word "acknowledged" in the comment field, then prompt for the user name ( for the username field).
I am not sure on how to start the command. If i were to do it in the same form then I would just put something like;
me.Date.Value = Date()
me.Comment.value = "Acknowledged"
me.Username.value = "[Prompt]"
As you can see I have two problems though;
1. The data has to be entered in a subform
2. My Prompt I dont think will work.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I have a subform which loads the items from a table the form is non editable just for viewing the items, the problem is how can i
A. limit the subform to only show the first say 10 items in the subform
B, to have a command button on the form where the the subform is on (command button not in the form) and when the user clicks it it goes to the next set of records say from 11 to 21 and displays that in the form.
i tried doing record cound but somehow record count is not there when selecting, also would the code go in the subfrom on load or on the form load where the subform is based?
any help on this would be appreciated.

table A is for DLOOKUP, table B is the table i want my sub-form data to insert in.
my table A have ID,name and class.
my table B have ID and other column.
Table A' ID and Table B' ID is related.
i trying to insert my sub-form to table B instead it insert the data to table A.
I have a subform for a hotel list, I have a combobox on the subform that show the list of the hotels, what I need is to create some fields on the subform wich shows me all the details of the hotel as address, email, facilities once I have selected a hotel from the combo list.
How can I achieve this!

I have a table called "tblTasks" and the table allows users to attach files to a task they wish to assign to a resource in their respective department. I have based a query on this table that returns the tasks associated with a given resource; however when the resource tries to view the attachment via a Subform - the Subform is based on the query - the attachment field does not yield any understandable results. The query is correct because all of the other data for the tasks show up perfectly; however the attachment, for some reason, is missing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a subform in which the users enter job update information. When an update comes in, they simply enter the information in the new record row, denoted by a * in the left hand column. Each record is timestamped (=Now()) and sorted by newest date first.
Is it possible to display the new record row (the blank one with the star) first? I attempted to add the Autonumber ID, hide it and sort by that but it simply comes up with "(New)" in the ID field.
I created a vehicle database that includes a sevice subform to track service history. The main form is bound to the vehicle table that tracks the vehicles we have. (Vehicle_ID). The service history has its own table that stores its history and is link to the vehicles table. I created a report that shows my vehicle and its last history item. When i click on it, it will bring up the vehicle form where you can add information. Is there a way to create the form, so when i enter the latest information and i click on it, it will bring up my main form, and in my subform svc history, display the lastest information.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a combo box Customer_Name on Order Form; and I want it open the Customer Form when an user insert a new customer to input all data. This seems simple at first, but problems are these:
1- whenever an user opens Customer Form on a new customer, the user would have to make the input once again (at least retype the customer's name on the field).
2- since the Customer_Name and other fields are required in the table, the Order_form would not allow the user to close it unless all field are filled properly.
Dilemma is you have to fill in the Customer_Name field before the table refresh all records and display it in the combo box on Order Form

Query all customers owing more than 10.00 (in this example it would be Rob and Albert).

I am using two tables to find the data (main - "employee tbl" and "courses tbl")I have been trying to follow Allen Browne`s method, but I`m unsuccessful. This is the code I've put in SQL of this query:
