Using Access 2010. I have a form on which I've placed a simple label. I try to set the label border color to black but it shows grey. I can set the border color to #000000 and it's grey. I set it to #000001 and it shows black as expected.
I'm thinking it has something to do with the themes, but shouldn't an exact color code show as expected? As a new member (<10 posts) I can't post an actual link, but here's the text of the location: [URL] ....
no problem about setting a different border color for a single textbox (or combobox or listbox) which has focus. How about to change, with a small and fast VBA code avoiding to write code for each textbox, the border color (ora other textbox properties) for a many controls in a form?
I tried using 'For each ctrl in Form....', but I got only bad results. All my control are within differente pages in TAB control.
I've got a label in a report which I'd like to have a bottom border only. Looking in the property sheet I don't seem to see this option (nor in the ribbon). Is there a way to do it other than with a line control? I'd like to have it attached to the actual border of the label . . .
I am trying to highligh a subform textbox a yellow color on focus. However it is highlighting every textbox in that field as it is a continuous form therefore they are all named ThisCount.
Is there a way to highlight just the specific textbox that I am in. I have tried.
Code: Dim ctlCurrentControl As Control Dim strControlName As String Set ctlCurrentControl = Screen.ActiveControl strControlName = ctlCurrentControl.Name Set ctlCurrentControl = Screen.ActiveControl
I have several forms that each has a dozen or more checkboxes, true/false. I want to be able to change the background color of the label of each checkbox depending on if the checkbox is true or false. I have used the following code which works great:
If Me.A = True Then Me.lblA.BackColor = vbYellow Me.lblA.BackStyle = 1 Me.lblA.ForeColor = vbRed Else Me.lblA.BackColor = vbWhite Me.lblA.ForeColor = vbBlack End If
Me.A refers to T/F checkbox A and Me.lblA refers to its label. This is repeated for each of the checkbox controls. If the control is [B], then its label is lblB. I have used this in the form OnCurrent event and the checkbox control OnUpdate event. I was wondering if I could use the tag property to this, saving me writing countless lines of code and having the OnCurrent event of each of the forms so long and cumbersome. And I do know that I can use conditional formatting to do this, but I would prefer not to use that method. Is there any way to do this using the tag property and not so many lines of code?
How can I indicate with a color change in the label, that a checkbox is checked? I've got it working ...sort of. but when the change occurs it's happening gobally - I want the label to color to apply only to the record I'm viewing. If the check box is checked then the color should be red, otherwise black.
My code is as follows: Active_Admission.Value = -1 Then
Label1177.ForeColor = vbRed
ElseIf Active_Admission.Value = 0 Then
Labe1177.ForeColor = vbBlack
Exit_Sub_Active_Admission_click: Exit Sub
End If
End Sub
Also, the condition only works with -1 and 0 - I've read in other places that the condition is 1 and 0. HELP!
Is it possible to use two color fonts on one label? I want to bring attention to the user that by clicking a certain button they can perform a search by "Name" and by clicking on the other button, they can perform a search by "Appointment".
I have a switchboard type form with some buttons. The two buttons in question are labeled, "Search for Appts by Name" and "Search for Appts by Appointment". I want to keep the "Search for" section of the button in black font, but change the "by Appointment" and "by Name" to red font.
Code: 'Pacer frame set to proper background If Me.FrmPacer.Value = 1 Then Me.LblPacer.BackColor = vbGreen ElseIf Me.FrmPacer.Value = 2 Then Me.LblPacer.BackColor = vbYellow ElseIf Me.FrmPacer.Value = 3 Then Me.LblPacer.BackColor = vbRed
[code]...
I have multiple frames on one subform that when selected sets a unassociated labels back color. Then when cancelled by undo code the back color stays on the color that it was changed to on afterupdate event from the frame with option controls. I would like to loop thru but could not come up with the proper method if it is even possible.the above code works after refreshed, but just wondering if there is a shorter or more efficient method.
I have a box with age in called [agecalc]. I want to change the border of the box to red to indicate they are a Juvenile if under the age of 17.I already have some code to write the text, I just need to change the border of this text box called agebox
I saved my form with a particular name and I have used that name all throughout my code and it still works fine. But when I open that form, the name I see on the top of the form is not that name at all. It's actually some value I gave a combo box a while ago.
I am trying to sum a column on a subform named Cost of New if another column named Final = any of the values listed in my code. However, it is summing the Cost of New column regardless of the values of Final. It is summing for all values. What do I need to modify to make this correct or should I do it another way?
=IIf([Final]="RPR-RPR & RTN" Or [Final]="NFF-TST & NFF" Or [Final]="RTN-RETURN" Or [Final]="SCL-SCR LOCALLY" Or [Final]="SCR-SCR RETURN" Or [Final]="BER-BER RTN CST",Sum([Cost Of New]),Null)
In my current database there seems to be two different types of borders in my pop-up forms! The best way to explain it is that some forms will have the Access style border while others have the glass style border that you see in windows. I can't seem to find any settings that will change this or even determine what causes it.
...but I'v got a picture and I want to put a red box behind it so the picture looks like it has red borders, the problem is that the box always appears above the picture, I'm sure there must be a way to prioritize them or something but I can't find it!
Where can I find the Hex or RGB value for the blue colour that Access 2010 uses by default for buttons on forms? I need to change some buttons to yellow (I know the code for that) but later change them back to the previous shade of blue, which is shown in the Properties pane "Accent 1, Lighter 40%".
By clicking in the standard colors area at the bottom of the colour chooser I can find a very similar blue #D6DFEC but it doesn't look quite right. And the "accent" colour does not give me a Hex value. Is that "usual" blue even one colour? How can I reset a button to that style having changed it?
I have a form which I use for many different tasks, in order to save database size, reuse code and keep things at their simplest. Sometimes, I'll click a button to open the form which will only show specific filtered data in "Form" view, using a default "Dialog" border style. Sometimes, I click another button which opens the same form, filters different data and displays the form in "DataSheet" view, but this time, I want the borderstyle to be "Sizable".
What I need is a line of VB code which will force the form to open-up with "Sizable" borderstyle, regardless of the form's Design view settings.
Something that would look like this (which obviously doesn't work):
I have a report, and the "reason" field is one that can grow as needed. The following string is in the field: "MISSING IMPLEMENTATION PLAN, MISSING SERVICE LOGS FOR DATE OF SERVICE". I bolded MISSING, where the space hits the border. My standard setting for the border style is Transparent, and the space is causing the growing to not work properly. TransparentBorder.pdf shows the incorrect growing. When I change the border style to Solid, the growing works correctly, as shown in the SolidBorder.pdf file.why the growing is not working properly with the Transparent border, but does work correctly with the Solid border?
I have a form which displays an incorrect form name in the header/tab when in form view - its always correct in design view. Somehow it chooses to display the name of another form I have in the database. I have tried saving the form to a new name, this does not solve it. I have also tried saving the other form from which the name seems to have been borrowed, but this makes no difference. Incidentally, now matter what names I give the two forms, the original (incorrect) form name persists. I have tried compact and repair and vba debug. No effect.
I want to display a message on a label superimposed on top of all objects if certain conditions are met when selecting a record in a listbox. The label is normally invisible and only made visible when the condition is met. The label stays visinble for 2 seconds using the timer event.
All that I cannot do is display the label on top of the listbox, it always sits under it.
I'm curious whether it's possible to display the label for a combo within the box itself, i.e. it would say something like "Enter Name" until the user clicked on it and opened the dropdown?
I found this which is really old and I couldn't get it to work.URL....
