Forms :: Linking Several Tables On Tabbed Form?

I want to have a navigation Form where the top tab will show the main Customer, and in the same tab also a sub table with chosen contact information.

With that top tab chosen, I want to chose left tab wich shall open (in this example) the phone number of that contact.

I provide a PDF with a few pictures of tables, relationships and how I want the forms to look.

problem is that i have 2 tables - Consolidated Orders, Customers.

Customers has 2 fields with a record inside one field with the clients name , but it also has an address in another field in the same table which i want to link to the name of the client because in my invoice i show the companies name and to the left of it i show their address.

i wish to link the two fields together so that when the name shows up, the address of the client will be to the left side .

Forms :: Hyperlink To Tabbed Form

I've set hyperlinks to a couple of forms using the hyperlink address in properties. All works fine, and I've done it this way because the cursor changes to pointy hand when hovering over.

However, I need to navigate to a tabbed form in a main form.

Is there a way of doing this? I've been searching all sorts, and the most probable is to concatenate the destination?

description##Page1#page2... or something like that?

Is this correct?

What ever I've tried doesn't work, this includes ...

adding the main form destination to Hyperlink Address, and tabbed form in the SubAddress (Can't find main form)

Using the hyperlink builder. (Can't find anything)

Objects in this database (Only one form).

everything has been working perfectly except for date diffs.I am simply using an unbound text box with a date diff as a calculator of sorts, which meets the form's purposes. Everything works fine when the two dates are on the SAME tab using the formula ' =DateDiff("d",[DOB],[date of treatment]) ' entered in the textbox.

The number of days between treatment and DOB pops up immediately.

However, when trying to create a second date diff between two source text boxes on SEPARATE tabs, (i.e. DOB on Tab 1, and date of treatment and the unbound date diff calc box on Tab 2) the date diff does not work unless the form is opened, and closed again. As in, the only time the number of days pops up is if the form is closed and opened again.

Forms :: Navigating Fields In Tabbed Form

I have a form which consists of four (4) tabbed sheets. The first sheet is the main form and the other three sheets are the linked subforms.

Pressing the tab key on the keyboard navigates from field to field in each individual form; however, I would like that when I get to the last field of each form, pressing tab moves to the next sheet or the first field of the next subform.

The problem I am getting is that when I get to the last field of the main form and/or subforms, hitting the tab button creates a new record in the specific form, which I do not want. I want to just tab to the next subform.

Forms :: Unbound Form With Tabbed Controls?

I have an unbound form with 2 tabbed Controls on it.On the first Tabbed Control my command button code works but not for the 2nd tabbed control. Although the command buttons themselves work as far as going to the appropriate record.

What I mean by this is that I use code to enable/disable the command buttons depending on what record you are on.

Example: If there is only 2 record, the other command buttons will be disabled, Do I have to refer to the Tab Control ?

Forms :: Tabbed Form Validation Before Switching Tabs

I have a tabbed form built in Access 2007. It's a series of about 32 different questions, with some being fill-in, some drop down boxes to select from, some radio buttons to choose a rating from 1 to 5. The reason I used a tabbed form was just to keep things consolidated on one screen where no scrolling was involved. All of the entries on each of these tabs are deposited into the same single table. I have 7 tabs, and all of the fields on the 7 tabs compose a single record in the table.

I have the actual tabs hidden, and instead use a button to switch to the next tab (Continue button at the bottom) once all the fields on that tab have been completed. I have all of the necessary fields set to be required, but Access does not validate the entries until the very end of the survey when they click a 'submit' button that actually saves the responses and returns to the opening splash page to start the survey again.

What I want to happen is for the fields on the current tab to be validated before it lets the user move to the next tab with the continue button. If they click continue and have left any fields blank they should get a message that all required fields must be completed or something similar to that.

I have found a thread here entitled "Form Validation before Moving to another Tab" which sounds similar to what I'm doing, but using the button method to navigate to the next tab, there is no BeforeUpdated event to assign that code to.

I made a form for our office to search data through our MS Access database. It was a big hit, and people started using it. Then came another request to make a new form - to search through another few tables. This was a big hit too.

The same process repeated and now I am stuck with 3 different forms, each with it's separate code and selection options.

How can I combine all of them into one and have 3 different tabs for the 3 existing forms without losing all the coding and software flow that I have already created?

I have a navigation form that has a tabbed form on one of its tabs. The tabbed form has a 'current client' query record source and allows one to choose from a list of current clients and when a client is selected - details relating to client are displayed on various tabs on tabbed form.

I want to duplicate tabbed form and change record source to a query selecting 'exited clients' so I can see same information but for exited clients.

I have created a new tab on navigation form for my new exited clients tabbed form and changed record source by creating a new exited client query but when I change record source on exited client tabbed form it automatically changes record source of current client tabbed form to the exited client query and visa versa.

I'm using access 2010.

How to set a single form's property to act as it's own "overlapping window" in a database that is set to use tabbed documents. I want most windows to have the tabbed layout but there are a few that I would like to have pop out and be their own windows.

I noticed that the Northwind database did this somehow. if you click on one of the products from the home screen a form pops up in its own window. I tried reverse engineering it, but no luck so far.

I'm creating a tabbed form in Access 2007, and in the first 3 tabs, when I dragged the field controls onto the form, they stretched to the width of the form and all stacked nicely underneath each other.

Now on the next tab they are coming out as much smaller. I don't want to stretch them to fit as I want them a uniform size and I just want to find how to get that setting back! I've been messing with the anchoring buttons to what seems like no avail!

Linking Forms/tables Together?

Hopefully someone can help me here. been struggling with this for a while.

Here's the brief!!
I have a access 2000Db, In it are are 2 tables, Tbl_Main & Tbl_Customer. and two forms frm_main & frm_customers based on the tables.

I have created a form called Form_main On this i have created a button which opens the form, Frm_Customers.

I want to link each record in fom main with form customers, basically so when i click on the button in form main it opens the correct corresponding record in frm_customers

Unfortunately when i scroll through the frm_main and select the customers button the customers details dont follow with each record. it only shows last record. Each record in the main form should follow with record from Customers table

I have created a relationship 1 to 1 so the data would follow each record but no avail.

where am I going wrong - If i can avoid code then that be fantastic as it confuses me! :)

ive made a db to keep a record of my employees and then keep a record of the addresses they attend.each employee will tend to visit numerous addresses in any given day so ive made a table for employees and a separate table for the addresses they visit...i then made an 'employee form' that is generated from my 'employee table' (standard stuff like name, address etc, nothing fancy here) so it is more user friendly...

what i want to be able to do is push a button on the 'employee form' which will then prompt me to add an address that will only be linked to that specific employee.i guess in esssence im looking for a way to link a specific employee to a bunch of addresses, and be able to data entry it on a form..

I am a girl guide leader trying to make a faster way to keep track of my unit's completed badge and program work. I have made tables for every area I need (I started with one table but it was too large to change into a form).

In total I have:

- Basic Member table (main information like their name and how many years they have been in, whether they are still in the unit, etc)
- Program area tables
- Interest badge tables

What I want to do is be able to "add/edit" members from the main form, then go to all the sub forms for their program and badge work -- problem is, how to link them!

I am using Access 2007-2010.

Linking Forms And Tables With Excel

Hi! This may be an incredibly simple query. We have access users and non-users at our organisation.

Although our database is in access, the non-users would like to use excel, so I am trying to set up a link between the two.

I have managed to set up the link between the main database table and an excel spreadsheet, but I also use a form to enter info on the main database.

When I set up the link, I add something to the main database table and it changes the excel document... but when I change a name or something on the form, it doesn't change it in excel.

Any ideas how I can link all of it would be very much appreciated!

Semi-urgent Help With Linking Tables/forms

Hi there - I have a database for a conference. I have an attendee's form where I enter their personal details. Then I have another form called Options Form (which I've set up as a command button to open the form) where I can enter the workshops/sessions they sign up for.

As attendees send us their completed options forms, I need to enter their choices into the options form.

TheProblem: If attendee 103 sends in his form, I enter his choices and close out of the options form. If attendee 67 sends his form, I do the same. BUT when I go back to these attendees and open their forms, those choices I had just entered have disappeared.

The Options Table (that I set up and designed the Options Form off) has the following fields:
AttendeeID
FirstName
LastName
Workshop 1
Workshop 2....etc

When I designed the form, I formatted the AttendeeID, FirstName and LastName field to use this same info from these fields in the Attendee Form (ie, =Forms!Attendees!AttendeeFirstName). However, when I tried to find out where these options 'went', I had a look on the Options Table and they are there, but there is nothing in the AttendeeID, FirstName or LastName field - these fields are blank.

Originally when I first started entering the options, it just seemed to Autonumber the choices I entered, so even though I may have entered them for Attendee 103, in the Options Table is showed in the Attendee column as 1, then if I entered info for Attendee 86, the Options Table showed it as 2 and so on, so whatever order I entered the information it put it in numerical order as opposed to the actual AttendeeID number.

What I need: I need to be able to enter any attendee's options (whether they are attendee 1, 26, 200, or 105 - ie not necessarily in numerical order) on their options form and for this info to be saved.

I hope this is not too confusing for anyone and someone is able to help. I would really appreciate it, or if you need further clarification, please just let me know.

(My guess is it has something to do with making sure my fields are formatted correctly, ie on the Options Form the AttendeeID field was set on Autonumber which is why it may have been putting the choices in numerical order instead of whatever the AttendeeID number is. I'm also wondering if I need to set up some kind of relationship between the Attendee Table and the Options Table - but I'm not sure what type of relationship it should be on. I've tried several options and none of them seem to work)

Hiii All.......

I am new to MSACESS........and i am just trying a small project and having a problem .... when ever i use any table / query in the expression builder of a FORM element...i am getting this error mesg " Automation object table / query not found "..........Should we link the objects of same database in some way ?? R they not connected??...Why is it that form elements r not recognizing tables of same database???...i am trying on this in several ways......but not able to solve this.... :( ....plzzzzzzzz can anyone help me out with this??????

Linking Tables With Form

I am having 4 tables where i enter all the data required. The tables are Project Details, Process Detail, Installation Detail & Cable Details.
Project Detail Table contains:Project Number,Project Code,wBS Code etc...
Process Detail Table Contains : Tag Number, Description, Service, Process values etc...
INstallation Details Table contains : Installaion Item, (nearly 40 items which are commonly used)
Cable Details Table Contains : Cable Number, Type of Cable, Size of Cable and so on
Now I need the form: Process detail containing the information which had been entered in Project detail also. Such as the Project Number, Code etc to appear in the form ( Just to display it)
In Cable Detail and INstallation forms I need some specific fields which are in Project details (project Number, Code..), Process Details ( The tag numbers, Description etc..) to appear as display.
The tag number shall be the primary key which shall be used in all forms except Project detail form. The information in Project details is just to appear in the report.
I could very well do it when all this information was in one table. As a beginer i am unable to solve this. So please guide me.

Linking Up More Than 2 Tables In A Form

Linking more than 2 tables together in a form. I have Clients who from time to time go to the hospital. I want to keep track of my Clients hospital visits so I set up 3 tables. One for Clients, one for the Hospitals and one for Patient Information. An example of the tables looks like this (this is a short version):

Clients: ClientID - Autonumber
ClientFname - short text
ClientLname - short text

Hospitals: HospitalID - Autonumber
HospitalName - short text

PatientInfo: PatientInfoID - Autonumber
AdmissionDate - date/time
PatientNumber - short text

I figure that 3 tables are necessary because each client may go to more than one hospital and some or all may visit one hospital more than once. I have worked with junction tables before but not sure how to set up a form to capture the value of all 3 PK values and store them in one junction table.

Linking Access Tables/form

I have a form in a DB and I would like to make it work so that when a user user chooses a job department (choice of 10). When they choose the department I want the next field on the form to only show the job classifacations(5 in each department so 50 if all show) in that department. Right now all I can do in make it so they need to choose from many job classifacations (50 of them as explained above where 45 have nothing to do with the department first choosen) and most of them don't relate to that department at all. Is it possible to do? I have limited macro knowledge and no code ability.

Linking Info From 2 Tables To Same Form By A Field

I have two Tables, Contacts and FlowMeters.

On the Flow Meter Form Info is listed specifically for each Flow Meter.

I would like to bring some of the information from the Contacts table on this form.

For Instance if I am on Meter 1T-02 I would like for it to associate that meter number with the name of the customer thats already on the form, then look up that customer's name in the contact table and bring over that customer's contact information.

I built this database over a year ago and it has been a long time since I have worked with the design of it, therefore I am a bit rusty.

Please help if you can.

Each month I receive a new excel spreadsheet (alpha Roster), Last month I created a form so that I can track certain things off of the Table (spreadsheet), I just received the new Spreadsheet for this month and was wondering if I can use the existing form and how hard it is to link it to the new spreadsheet? Is that even possible? I don't want to have to re create the form every month, I would like to just bring the new alpha roster in and be ready to work.
