Dec 11, 2013I developed a database for a group and i want to be able to prevent anyone from mucking things up.

View RepliesMy form was working fine but when I added an extra tab it started showing as completely blank in design view. When I deleted the tab I had added I still was left with the same problem!
I've attached an image of the form properties. I want to use the form to enter data so it needs to show even if there are no records.
I had read that it could be if there is no data but typing data in the tables hasn't worked either.
I am working on adding a layer of security to my current DB. I've got usernames and passwords set up, along with access info (controlling what aspects of my DB certain users are able to interact with)....
I've managed to disable the navigation pane and ribbon for most users (only me and another user will have access) and now i want to try and disable editing....
Cannot find any VBA coding online to allow me to prevent people from editing forms/reports/queries in Design or Layout view.... How this can be accomplished?
How can I see what they will finally look like while I am formatting them? All the views on offer (form/layout/design) are all displays within the the context of the access programing screens, with other windows and menus and ribbons etc. I want to see how it will look full screen. I know I can change a lot of options, change to the form as a default to open with, resave, reopen and then reverse it all but that's not really any good for doing every time you make a minor change.
View 14 Replies View Relatedis it possible to lock the " view design" the user at present could run a query and the view the design and change it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am designing a database for users with little to no knowledge of Access.
Therefore, I would like to lock/disable the design view for my queries to prevent them from inadvertently making any changes to my query criteria.
Is there a way to accomplish this?
Is it possible (haven't found a way yet) to have two "split subforms" on a parent form side-by-side? When I try the multiple rows portion of the split view I created as a subform doesn't appear?
Want to have a form when I have search/filter/select record for table 1 (on the left) and table 2 (on the right) with a means in between to create a relationship which has a few parameters.
So you make this nice continuous form (or report) using the tabular layout, layout/format the whole enchilada... and then at some stage you need to add one more field to the display.
You could change the layout to stacked, drag the field from the Add Existing Fields list onto the layout and then change the layout back to tabular.
Is there any other smart way to add a field to a tabular layout in A2007, so that the label winds up in the header section and the textbox (or other control) in the detail section?
When I drop a field into a form I'd like to take the Lable Box and put in into the Page Header section and leave the data field or control box in the detail field.Sometimes I have available "Remove Layout" function to split the 2 so I can manipulate them around.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to place a text box at the right bottom corner of a form. I tried but its position is changing as per moinitor sizes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having an issue with a split form I've been working on. I created this split form on Monday and it was working just fine but today, I have added a couple minor text boxes. Since then, I can view the form contents in Design View but when I switch to "Form View" or "Layout View", it's all gone minus the logo in the top left corner and the title for the split form.
View 12 Replies View RelatedThere is a light border that is still there after I remove the text that was in the box. I want to remove the ghost image, for lack of a better name, that is left.
Also all the images, fields, are locked together. I want to remove some individually, without moving everything.
I'm in the "LayOut View" of Access 15.0.4551 Office 365 Home Premium.
I have made an unbound check box, named "myckeck" in a form which shows data from a table in tabular layout.
1- When I check one check box, all check boxes are checked. How can I solve that? I mean I want to check or clear check boxes independently.
2- I made a text box, named "jobdate" to sow todays date automatically upon checking a check box.
Code:
Private sub mycheck_afterupdate()
jobdate = date
End
But this is not working and checking a check box does not make anything to happen.
3- Then I made this expression in the default value of "jobdate" properties:
iif( mycheck = true, date(), null)
This not working either.
I need to lock and unlock a a few text fields with a CMd Button.
and i do know about the allowedits thing, but i only need to apply this to a few fields on my form.
can some one throw me a clue?
hello :)

Is there a tool that converts Access querys (jet syntax) to sql views and procedures (sql server syntx)?

Hi, can someone tell me if there is a way to save several different datasheet views? I have a large database with many fields. I use forms for data entry, but to view the data I use the table datasheet (so I can see multiple records at a glance). But every time I have to manually move, freeze, and hide columns to get the view I want!! Is there a way to save several different datasheet layouts that I can access the view I want with one click? because I am tired of freezing/hiding columns every single time.
Many thanks
I want to lock a form but keep it visible when a 2nd form opens in front of it. I would also like to keep the 2nd form on top. How to do these 2 things?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm still using Access 2003 to manage our membership database, is it possible to lock a field(member's name) if the membership is equal to withdrawal or terminated? Possible to use "on click"?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to lock a field in a form after the user has populated the field? So for example, I have two date fields and I want them to be locked after the user has entered values on those fields. I want to avoid the user to come back in the future and change those fields. However I would like the database administrator to be able to change those dates when needed. How do I do this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe company's register of projects we select the customer from a combo box that is related to the customer table. However, the way this works now, the individual may choose another customer by mistake, and if this is not corrected at the time the project will be listed with the wrong customer.
I would like to have a feature that when you select a customer receive a message if you are sure this is the right customer and if you answer yes then the customers name is being locked to this project ID.
Hi Pals,
Is it possible to create VIEWS for access Tables....
If its possible... How its pls ?
Hi all,
I write a program which is querying some data from a MS-Access database.
The problem here is, that the tablenames contain characters like "/" or "-" and I
do not want to change these names, because I think that the database
structure will be damaged.
To solve this problem I thought of creating a view to the table. I tried creating
this with a SQL statement, but that did not work.
Is there any other possibilty to create a view on a MS-Access table?
Regards,
Stefan
In Access can I link to a SQL Server view? I am currently linking to the
SQL Server tables in my database and don't have any views. But if I can link to views I could give the workgroup permissions in Access to the views, not to the primary tables. This would provide some added security from the user who bypasses my switchboard forms and goes to modify the Access tables directly.
I am trying to remove the built in form views from access 97. Is it possible to remove the navigational functions of the form while in view mode (ie first record, previous record, search, next record, and last record)? There is also an arrow bar that has no functionality to it placed at the left side of my forms that I would like to get rid of. Is this possible? Thanks for your help!
