Is it possible to make a control have a fixed position so that when the form is vertically scrolled the object stays in the same position?
I have a continuous form that shows records based on criteria that the user puts into an earlier form. There is a close button on the page but you cannot see the close button if you horizontally scroll too far along the page. You have to horizontally scroll because of the amount of fields that are on the form.
I have some graphs on a report that I need to dynamically position. The user selects which graphs he wants to put in and then the reports repositions the graphs based on input.
I've been using the following code to move the graph:
reports!rpoly.gGPCMWbyDRI.top = 3.625
which compiles, but moves the chart to the "0" position. I tried using a string ("3.625"""), or a stint ("3.625") but neither worked.
I want to progammatically align the report controls position. I have a control with left=2.7 in the Design view property. I want to set programmatically set this value to 3.0 or other value accoring to a parameters. The problem is that when I set this property at the event Report-Open, the control appears always in another position regardless of the left value, i.e appears always at the new constant position.
Hi I have a standard form with Header, Detail, and Footer sections. The detail section is populated by a mixture of queries and calculated control boxes. When the detail section overruns its space, I get a vertical scroll bar to the right and then the footer is displayed. So, the footer always stays where it is and the scroll bar only moves the detail section.
Is it possible to get the scroll bar moving the whole lot so that the footer is not permanently viewable on the page and would appear after all the Detail boxes ?
I recently found a neat little module which allows you to duplicate a right click & bring up pop up menu ( say by left clicking on a field). I find this very good for creating a nice little menu system in which I can reproduce the nice features of Access menus (I'm using Access 2002) but with a lot more flexibility.
So, I have a line of labels across the top of the form which are my top level menu items - when I click or mouse over these I want to have the pop up menu appear directly under the label. I can position the pop up menu manually by SetCursorPos(x,Y) but as my forms are Pop Up and can move this has proved to be a pain.
What I am after is something that will allow me to work out the coordinates of the left bottom of the label and then position the cursor there then drop the menu. The difficulty I'm having is converting or understanding the position of the label (me.label1.left etc) and relating that to what SetCursorPos needs.
I've been creating a database. I prepared forms to enter records. In these forms there are many fields. I want some fields to stay fixed while going up to next record unless changed. How can I do this?
Expressions in Access have given me some trouble before. Mainly due to inexperience. I hardly ever work with them. What I am trying to do is make the default value of a form textbox control the minimum value of a field A in a table A. The datatype of Field A is Date.
So far I've got:
=Min([table A].[field A])
In the Default Value of the form's property sheet, but this just returns a blank value. I've had a look in the table and there is no value that is blank in field A.
I have a subform which holds data in a datasheet mode. when i delete a record i close the parent form and then reopen it because i am not having luck making the requery work. the user wants the position to be at the location the form was before deletion although it will be a different record. I have tried
and it gives me a error saying that the frmVendorList is not open. That is the form that is the subform the line before i open the parent form. The name for the subform in the property sheet is frmVendorList.
I have a form that i have created with various tabs along the top, e.g. customer details, customer contact etc etc.I have a subform on one of the tabs.
That subform also has tabs on it.When clicking on the main form tab it goes to subform but the scroll bar moves down only to show the subform tab options. I have to keep scrolling back up to see the main form tab options.
I have a form in datasheet view, with the record ID column frozen and users typically scroll to the right to see certain columns. Different users scroll to a different position.
I dont have the option to reduce the number of columns or create separate forms for different users, - they all need to see all the columns but typically a user scrolls horizontally to see a certain set of columns most of the time. I want to save that position for the next time they open the form.
Is it possible to define the position of a navigation button. For example, I want my first navigation button not starting totally on the left but a bit indented. Possible?
Secondly, suppose I have combo boxes on my first navigation button and for each combo box and choose a value, next I move to the second navigation and then back to the first navigation button. Then it always seems that the values of my combo boxed are reset to default value. Can this be avoided?
I have created a member data base form in Access2010.
That has been populated with 366 member records
I have two text box fields that are currently free type fields, Member Type & Member Status.
What is the best way I can change these to show only the relevant options:
i.e. Member Type ( Full, Family, Pensioner, Life. ) Member status ( Current, Lapsed, Deceased)
I have tried to right click the field but the "change to" option is greyed out & not available.
I have also tried to insert a combo box or list box to show these options. The "use control wizard" option has been highlighted but when I drag either a combo box or list box into the form. the wizard does not activate.
I have a .csv file where I need to parse out the information.
I have imported the .csv file into access and all the data is in [Field1]
Instead of using query design, I want to create a user interface [Form] where anyone can input in the textbox the position and length of a mid function.
Example:
Last name: Position = 1 Length =15 First Name: Position = 15 Length = 30
Is it possible for users to input the numbers in texboxes to extract the data to another table?
I've created several Split forms that have the data input fields in the form with the relevant query datasheet shown below. As you tab through the form fields, the various cells in the datasheet are highlighted and move across the data row (as one would expect!). I want to put a particular field / Column at the start of the datasheet so that it's always available for view, but it seeme that what ever I do the column ends up back at the very far end of the data row!
I've sussed out the "Freeze Fields" facility which will keep the first column visable whichever cell is highlighted across the data row.
The column I want as the first column currently sits at the far end of the data row. So far I have dragged the row to the first column position; I've arranged the Query driving the form so that the column is at the front of the row, both in design view and in datasheet view, but to no avail. Everything I do to put the column at the start of the row in the datasheet shown below the form ends up with it back at the far end of the row the next time I open the form.
On main form cursor working is goods as per default. But after come to in Subform its shown the cursor position in the last filed. So every new record is shown as the same last field. How to do this cursor position will be change in subform as per default?? and every new record its need to show as per default TabIndex "0".
I have checked my Tab Index & Order Settings also it is good. But its shown as last filed in subform
I have several comboxes where I'm using date/time input masks. When I go to enter data in the field the cursor is situated at the right end of the box. I have to backspace to the beginning of the field to enter the data. How do I position the cursor to the beginning (left side) of the field?
I added a new field to one of my tables and query, but when I try to add a control for that field into my form it is not recognising it and the field isn't appearing in the sources for the form, even though the table is sourced to the form? Or am I going to have to do the usual and redo the entire form because I made a minor adjustment?
I have a form with a tab control, inside the tab control I placed an ActiveX control (Microsoft Web Browser). These are at the bottom of the form.
Everything displays fine if the entire form fit on the screen but if the form is too long and I scroll down the browser control is getting obscured by the tab control and getting chopped off (the contents are covered). It is as if the browser control is staying in space where it was and moving behind the tab control as I scroll.
This problem does not occur if I place the browser control directly on the form. Also I note that the browser control is sitting correctly within the tab control.
I have been through all the settings and properties of both controls and haven't been able to fix it. I searched all over the web but no one has previously stumbled across this one by the look of it.
I am trying to use VBA to address a field in three different subforms on a form. When I am in the VBA environment writing the code, I noticed that only two of the subforms are listed in the Project window on the upper left. I ignored that and wrote the code anyway, and when I execute the code, it works fine for the two subforms in the Project window, but when it gets to the third subform, it throws this error:
"MS Office Access can't find the field '|' referred to in your expression."
The code is this: Private Sub Test_Number_AfterUpdate() [Form_Consumables Entry].Test_Number.DefaultValue = [Form_Test Director Panel].Test_Number.Value [Form_Squawk Entry].Test_Number.DefaultValue = [Form_Test Director Panel].Test_Number.Value [Form_Event Log Entry].Test_Number.Value = [Form_Test Director Panel].Test_Number.Value End Sub
Can anyone tell me how to make all of my forms available to VBA?
I have been able to successfully solve the problem of my pages showing relevant records by using form control. How should I make my form display a new record everytime I open it? So, that when a lame user opens it , he wouldnt change the existing data on an existing record. How to solve this problem? Kindly help. thanks
Could anyone out there tell me if it is possible to make the output on an Access form read only. I want to be able to input information as records, but when it is saved I don't want it be able to be altered. Mainly I am saving recipes on a form, and I don't want my children to be able to add anything to a record once it has been saved. Thanks in advance Ken
I have a subform that shows notes entered but if there is more text in the field then you cant see it all. Can I make it so that this field will grow so the whole input is visible or can I make it so when you click on it it opens in a larger window showing all the txt?
