I would like to have a message box popup 30 minutes after a user checks a checkbox (check5). I am thinking I would have to have VBA code to run on the After Update property of the checkbox but not sure what the correct code would be.
View RepliesI have a form with an option group to select subforms to be displayed .To save space on the main form I have added a subform (frmSubService) to the option group to display some of the data that was originally on the main form. The subforms data source is the same as that of the main form but only displays five fields.
After editing data in the subform frmSubService, if I then click on a field on the main form no problem, however if I click on an option button to view another subform I get a messagebox pop up with the following message;
The data has been changed. Another user edited this record and saved the changes before you attempted to save your changes. Re-Edit the record.
If I click OK,and without re-editing the record, I can open another subform.
I have checked and the data changes made on frmSubService, in both cases, has been saved.
How do I prevent the pop-up message?
I want to make alert message that will be pop up when the return date for borrowing book is one day before the date. and the alert message will also can show the information about the borrower.
the alert message will be something like this. Tomorrow one borrower need to return the book. click ok to view the data.
Can access 2007 do this kind of alert message..?

There are 2 payment types monthly and annual (these are on a dropdown box with their own id number).
I have a joining date and a paid date, but reflected against the payment type ie 31 days or 365 days.
I have been trying to do something along the lines of:
if [monthly] (is selected) (so this would call up a 31days) date() is > [joining date] then give message to renew and same kinda thing for annual.
I have a main form with 2 subforms. I have a checkbox on subform1 "frmExpediteS" that when checked i would like the Value in Feild "PO" of this subform to appear in "PO" in a second subform2 "frmExpediteDetails". I think I need an after Update event but not sure of the code to use.
Can someone please steer me in the right direction.

Basically I have a table setup where Time Fields are stored. What I need to do is in a Query, have the difference of two Time Fields calculated, and then displayed on a Report. Here's what I have so far...
Table
- Start Time
- End Time
Query
Difference Time: DateDiff("n",[Start Time],[End Time])
All that works fine and shows up on the report, except for the fact that the time is showed in straight minutes, so for a difference of 1:30 minutes, it just shows 90 minutes. I need to make it so that on the report in the Difference Time Text Box, it's showed as 1:30 instead of 90.
I tried putting the following in the Control Source for the Difference Time Text Box on the report, but it returns an error.
=[Difference Time] 60 & Format([Difference Time] Mod 60, ":00")

I have a form which has a list of actions on it. There are 5 fields to be filled in per action. A user can add a new action by clicking the arrow button to go to the next blank record. My problem is that there is one field which is required. At the moment, if I click off the record I have just entered, and I have not filled the field, I get a standard access message telling me the required property of the field has not been set to true because it contains a null value. Obviously this is fine for me, I know what to do but my users will not understand it. I need to trap the error and put out a simple message along the lines of 'Please Select a Classification'. I don't know on which event I trap the error. The problem is that they could click off the record at any point, i.e., they might fill in 2 fields then click off, or they might fill 4. So I want it to be trapped just before the record is saved to the database but only after the user has been given the chance to fill all the fields in. I don't want the message to appear after they tab from field 1 to field 2, if you get what I mean.
Any ideas on how I do this?

My problem is this: Whenever I enter something into the form other than first choosing the date from the DateTimePicker's drop-down list, I get the notorious error message: Can't set value to NULL when CheckBox property = FALSE.
What I can conclude is that the DateTimePicker can seemingly not return a null value to the database. A possible solution was given at this site: http://www.dotnet247.com/247reference/msgs/54/270422.aspx
I however, have no idea how to apply this to my form.

I have form with a series of text boxes in which users can edit the data that is populated in them. For one of the text boxes I want to add an after update event, so that if the user changes the value in the text box, a message window appears telling them to click on the submit button at the bottom of the form.
Does anyone know the code that I should use to make this message appear when the value in the text box is changed?

One of the directors of the company I work for would like to have a large screen display the current status of jobs that my database stores. To cut a long story short the table he is interested in is called tblJobsLogging and is updated manually by our laboratory on a regular basis as jobs are completed using a form linked to a query in turn linked to that table.
Think fast food chain order monitor. He wants to be able to look up from his desk and see the progress directly in front of him at any point.
Is there any way that I can have an access form displaying these records in a datasheet view which continuously refreshes every X seconds / minutes or updates as a record is updated in the underlying table?

I have a main form showing a number if information for one project. Within this form I have yes/no buttons that when clicked, open a popup form where you can add additional data. The problem I'm having is that when opened, the record # for the pop form does not match the record # for the main form.
Example: Let's say I'm in the main form and showing record #5. When I click the yes/no button to add extra info, the popup form opens but it shows record #1, not #5.
Any ideas how to tell the popup form to link with the corresponding record would be very much appreaciated.

All; using ms access 2010. In the query I use for a report; I put a parameter so the user can filter a date. It works fine but now when I go to open a form that has a subform relating to the report; users get the popup for input also. This doesn't stop the form from opening but it is annoying. There is a subform on this main form relating to the report, but the subform has a table not query for the recordsource like the report. None of the queries related to the main form that's asking for the parameter values have the parameter inthe queries. How to get rid of the parameter popup?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a form with a field called "CCN" and what I need to do is have some sort of code that will look at the table "Application Data - NE" and check to see if there are any duplicate records for that CCN on the "AfterUpdate" function and if so; spit out an error message saying "CCN already exist; please try another".
Does anyone have any ideas on how to code this?
I know how to do the custom error message; I am just not sure how to have it check for duplicates before the rest of the form can be updated/before the record is saved.

On there is a Subform called subfrmFront and that has a source object of the form f_front
A button on f_main opens up a popup. In this popup, the fields I am updating all relate to the same records that are being displayed in the subform. Everything updates OK in the popup (i.e I can see in the table that the updated information is in there), but the subform back on f_main still has the old data in it.
I need to requery that subform to show the new data I just inputted.
If I close f_main and re-open it, the latest data is in there, but surely there is a way to make sure it updates on the close of the popup form.
I have a continuous Form [Letter Log - All] with "LetterNo" field as the primary key. What i want to do is click the "LetterNo" and a filtered pop up form with subform should appear based on what has been clicked. But i don't have luck doing that. The name of the main form is "LetterLog" and its subform control name is "LetterLogSub"
