Jun 26, 2013I'm creating a form, and all the fields moved together. How do you unlock the field so you can move each one individually. I don't need them in columns as they are, nor the same size.

Forms :: Sum Of Time Fields
Mar 13, 2014I have a form generated from infopath where users enter the amount of time it took them to complete a task. It is set up right now in time format, so a user would enter Task A-0:15 (to show 15 minutes). Users have multiple tasks with different times and I would like to be able to show a total for all those tasks combined.
Task A-0:15
Task B-0:45
Task C-1:30
Task D-0:30
Total = 3:00 <------This is what I would like to do
Problem With Date & Time Fields In Forms

Im having a problem adding the date and time to a new record using a form. The 1st method i used was by inserting the default value set to Date() & Time() functions, this worked fine for over a year, but now on some computers on the network the following error pops up "function is not available in expressions in table-level validation expression".
The 2nd method I tried was to add a macro with 'setvalue' commands to the After Update event of one of the first field's that was entered, this entered the same information into the Time & Date field once the first field was updated. This now brings up the macro fault screen and the 'Halt' button has to be pressed to clear the error.
This only happens on the older computers that access the database, the new computers don't bring up any errors.
Can anyone help me with this problem??!

Forms :: Calculated Fields - Formatting Box As Date / Time
Jan 13, 2014In my form I have a calculated field that works out the time elapsed for a job, worked out as the QTY/RUN RATE which gives me the time in hours. However I couldn't format the box as a date/time, as it is a calculation and the times may go over 24 Hours which results in the date/time giving me something like 31/12/1899 16:00 for example.
I've got around this now and I've formatted the results as HH:NN:SS using a public function in a module, but the problem is this is now stored as a text field. I've tried setting this to a number field but the formatting doesn't carry over. I've tried setting a custom format in the table as HH:NN:SS but then all I get is just a bunch of 0's, no calculation results.
So how to format this as a number field properly?
Also for any extra information:
- I know you're not supposed to store calculated results, but this is slightly different, the calculated field is a standalone text box and the bound field is a formatted text box.
- The reason I have to store the calculated results is because my boss wants to eventually see a chart of the total hours of jobs each day, hence why I'm asking if this can be done as a number field.
Forms :: Using VBA To Populate Date / Time Fields On Subform
Jan 10, 2015I have a form that contains a subform. On the main form, there are 3 fields: [IncidentNumber], [OpenDate] and [OpenTime]. The subform, [CtrlLog Detail] , contains the log entry details for each incident number. Every incident number can have many log entries. Two of the fields on the subform are [EntryDate] and [EntryTime]. The fields work correctly and the forms are fine.The issue Im having is when a new incident number is created the [OpenDate], [OpenTime] and [EntryDate], [EntryTime] MUST be equal because of some filter queries for statistics. Right now the user must physically type in the date/times in these 4 fields when they create a new incident number, which means I'm having lots of data entry errors.
Using default value on either [EntryDate] or [EntryTime] on the subform doesnt work because it doesnt create a primary key for the underlying table and the subform will not allow any other entry (due to some other linked values) until that PK is created. The forms are based on tables linked by [Activity_ID] as the primary key. I want to create some VBA code to see that if the Incident number is a new number (meaning the user must type in the new incident number creating the primary key for [Activity_ID]), that access will automatically populate the [EntryDate], [EntryTime] fields to match the [OpenDate], [OpenTime] fields on the main form. The user will manually populate the [OpenDate], [OpenTime].
If the number is an existing number (and the user is simply adding a log entry to the incident number) then I want [EntryDate], on the subform to default to the system date/time ([EntryTime] should remain blank for user entry) while keeping [OpenDate], [OpenTime] unchanged. When the [EntryDate], [EntryTime] fields are populated on creation of a new incident number, I want the PK for the underlying table ([Log_ID]) to be generated.

After refreshing my creation, I realized that Product name and sub-name from table 2 should be going to table 1.. How can I move those two fields from table 2 to table 1 without mess up the data?

Forms :: Auto-populate Current Date And Time When Other Fields Completed
Feb 24, 2015I have a table called Neutron2015. I want the current date and time to complete when entries are made in two other fields. So I am looking for this date and time to populate in EXLStart when an entry is made in Processed By, and also the current date and time to appear in EXLEnd when an entry is made in Completed By with the bold word being the field names.
Is this possible, and how difficult is it?
Forms :: Navigation Forms - Moving Between Tabs
Aug 21, 2013I have set up my main data entry form as a navigation form with 5 tabs/pages. The first three all contain fields from my main data table, the other 2 tabs/pages have fields from related tables.
Ok, so my question is: is if there is a way to go from tab/page 1 through the other 4 in succession with the main primary key (in this case an object ID number) automatically populated through. As it is now, when I start a new record for an object on tab/page 1, and then go to the next tab/page, it registers a new record has been created (at the bottom of the form it updates the total amount of records entered), but I have to manually enter in the ID field at the top the object ID number that I am entering info for. Otherwise it is still showing the details associated with the last record I was in the form updating.
Slow Moving Forms
May 11, 2006If anyone can shed some light on my slow moving forms. The BE is on a server and FE is on users PC. When I use the DB it seems to go through the form at about 4 sec a form or instant if it is menu form. Everyone else seems to move a lot (slower 30 -60sec/form) when it pulls forms with info to be entered or retrieved.
I know this is vague but anything to suggest as to what is causing the problem.
I say it is the network/server the BE is on.

Aug 28, 2013I have two subforms on a main form. When I move out of the last control of the first subform, I use the following code to move to the first control of the second subform:

This is giving me problems in that it appears that moving out of the control in this way seems to be creating a record in the table on which the first subform is based.I get the following message: 'Cannot the value 'NULL' into column 'DoB'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails.'Is there a way to navigate between subforms without this happening?
Moving Through Records And Updating Sub Forms

I have this database I'm working on and have a couple of issues I can't work out.
The first is this, I want to have my sub forms go to the last record when moving through the main form, currently I can only get this to work when I open the form?
If I move through the records in my main form (forward and backwards), the two sub forms go to the first record only, so how can I get them to go to the last recor?
I've attached the DB to show you what I mean.

Moving Focus/control On Sub Forms
Feb 16, 2006I have a parent form called "frm_job_enter"
and two sub-forms called "frm_fabricator" & "frm_engineer"
On the sub form "frm_fabricator" I have a combo box and after updating this combo box (called fabricator) I would like the cursor to jump into a field called “ApllicationsEng” on the other sub form "frm_engineer"

Jul 16, 2015I have a form where there are 2 list boxes: Part_List and acbPartList. acbPartList has multiselect enabled and what I want to do is be able to select multipler records in that list box and then press a button to add those selected records into the other list box. Here is my code for my button:

I'm not sure if passing varItem is correct, but regardless, it isn't working because Part_List is based off of a query, its not a value list.
Forms :: Hiding And Moving Controls
Nov 6, 2013I have created a form with some boxes on it which include in their body textboxes and labels and combos. I would like to know if it is possible (or if a control exist) to group this items which are inside the box and with a simple box.visible = false to make them all non visible without tagging them or adding code with their names statically to make them non visible. Any link that shows how to move controls in the form in runtime?
I would like to hide some controls and make smaller the form and if user selects a checkbox to show these controls that exist inside a box and grow the form.
Forms :: Data Moving Around On Subform
May 8, 2015I have a form on my database called frmFloorRun in which a user inputs a line number on the main form, and then in the subform they enter what will be running on that line for that given day.
Everything seems to work beautifully except that when a user clicks on a line other than line 1 and clicks the refresh button, the first item scheduled to run on line 1 will move to whatever line the user is currently on.
To replicate this issue: simply open the database (i have slimmed it down so that only the floor run portion is included).
Open the form [frmFloorRun] observe the first line item on line 1 (that should be what the form opens to by default).
Now click on any other line by selecting it from the dropdown (yes I realize it is a combo box, but even when I remove that combo box and enter a line number manually, the issue persists).
After selecting another line, click refresh and that first line item from line 1 will move to whatever line you have selected. This is a huge issue for our company.
Also, I have included the report that is based on this form. It simply proves that the line item does not just move on the form - it moves in the report too.
Forms :: Moving A Group Of Objects When Hiding Others?
Sep 16, 2013I am building a form where I would like to group fields into 3 groups, A, B & C. I know I could put all groups on their own subforms but I'd like to see if there is a way to simplify it all on one form since there aren't much fields for each group.
I would also like to hide each group when the user clicks 'hide group A' and shift Group B & C up. Then move them back to their original position when 'Display Group A' is clicked.
Same for each group. If Group B - Hide is clicked, Group C is moved up.
I've got each group tagged appropriately and I can hide/display them all properly by a For Each Control loop. Now, how to I move them all up/down a specific amount in addition to that? I would think it would be just as easy but my objects are moving by using the Grid Y property

Forms :: Moving Form By Code On The Display
Jul 22, 2014I'd like to do the following: when the user does something on Form A, Form B has to be open and the Forms should be located on the sides (Form A to the left side, Form B to the right side) of the display so the user can see them at a time.
However both Form A and Form B has an automatic centering function set when used alone.
Is there a way I could push this from code? I can't fine anything like that among the form's property.
Forms :: Combo Box Not Updating Upon Moving To New Record
Jun 26, 2014I have a tab control with a Counsellor Training tab on it inmy form frmCounsellors. The issue I am having is that when I select a training type from the drop down in the sub form on the tab control on the counsellor training tab and then go to a new record of the main form, not on the sub form, the training type I selected on the form stays the same. If I change it on the second record, it stays at whatever I changed it to, even if I return to the first record it stays at what I changed it to as well.
How do I get it to stay with the counsellor and have it zero out for a new counsellor and it to allow me to enter something different for the new counsellor then save it for that counsellor?I just realised, I am having the same issue with the location combo box but I am sure I could apply a fix to both boxes if I knew one.

Jul 19, 2013I created a form through the form wizard in access 2007 and based it off fields in a table. the form is done but if I want to move the controls in the design view... I dont have the ability to move just one. I can either move all of them or none of them. Is there a way to change that?

Jul 9, 2013I'm creating a database for work, and one of my forms currently has 8 subforms on it. For each individual account there can be one, none, or many of any combination of these subforms that will have information on them. I need the form to be able to show all of them, as someone else will be inputting all the information when the database is complete, but to make it easier I have set it up with checkboxes so that when a checkbox is checked, a subform shows, if not checked it doesn't show. I have very limited skills with VBA, so that in itself was an accomplishment for me.
My questions is: is there anyway in access to do it so that if a subform doesn't show, all the ones beneath it that do show will get bumped up so that it is easier to read/input data?
I have attached my DB and the appropriate form is "ICinfoT."
Forms :: Moving View Of A Form SetFocus?

There are some selection controls that require the user to enter data before the next one becomes enabled.
My form then has two different groups of controls that the user see's depending on the selections earlier, either one group or the other is made visible.
My question is how to move the view so that the appropriate group is where I want it.
If I use setfocus to a control the form moves but not how I want it to (The control that i setfocus on is half way up the screen rather than close to the top.).
I know there must be a better way, I tried move size but it didn't seem to do what i wanted.
Queries :: Getting Date / Time Range - Date And Time Are Separate Fields
Mar 13, 2014I have a database with date and time each stored in a separate field. Now I want to query the database based on a start date/time and an end date/time. I started with the code below but it only returns events within the same time range on each day when what I really need is every event from a specified date and time through a specified date and time.

In the above example what I want is every event from 3/2/2014 8:00PM until 3/3/2014 11:00PM. But what I get instead is every event between 8:00PM and 11:00PM on 3/2/2014 and every event between 8:00PM and 11:00PM on 3/3/2014.
