Forms :: Moving View Of A Form SetFocus?

Sep 19, 2014

I have a data entry form.

There are some selection controls that require the user to enter data before the next one becomes enabled.

My form then has two different groups of controls that the user see's depending on the selections earlier, either one group or the other is made visible.

My question is how to move the view so that the appropriate group is where I want it.

If I use setfocus to a control the form moves but not how I want it to (The control that i setfocus on is half way up the screen rather than close to the top.).

I know there must be a better way, I tried move size but it didn't seem to do what i wanted.

Jul 19, 2013

I created a form through the form wizard in access 2007 and based it off fields in a table. the form is done but if I want to move the controls in the design view... I dont have the ability to move just one. I can either move all of them or none of them. Is there a way to change that?

Add And View SetFocus Question

Nov 10, 2006

Sorry if this has come up before, I have been chasing dozens of threads that are so close, I've still not got it!:o

I have a form that is used in edit mode and add mode. When used in edit mode it has a combo box in the header that does the usual bookmark search in the after update event, and on open focus is set to this field in the open form event.

When in add mode i don't want this set focus to happen so I'm not sure what the test statement should be.

Would appreciate a pointer or two.

Forms :: Unable To View Object Properties In Form Design View (Access 2010)

May 16, 2014

Why the ability to view the properties of an object within a form is not available when you double click on it in design view?

I was happily working away double clicking on a command button to edit some code when for some reason the next time I tried to edit it did not open up for me.

I was unable to access it even by right clicking on the object & selecting properties as that also appears to be disabled, not greyed out or anything but just does nothing when selected.

Have I inadvertently changed a setting somewhere that prevents the properties from being displayed?

Forms :: No Filters - Cannot View All Records In Form View

Aug 27, 2013

I have 4 tables and around 440 records but can only view up to 417 in the form I have designed. I have been adding new records via form and it has been added to my main table, but when i try to view it in form view - the record is not available to view. What do I need to do to correct this problem?

I have checked that there are no filters, data entry is set to No, Auto deletions, additions and edits are set to yes.

Also to mention it seems that the problem has arisen since I set up some new queries, there is a one to one relationship between the tables!

Moving Controls In Design View?

Apr 24, 2014

I have a label and a text box that are apparently "linked" (I move one, and the other moves). For the moment, I want to move them independently so...

1) how do I "unlink?"

2) how do I "re-link?"

Forms :: Moving Form By Code On The Display

Jul 22, 2014

I'd like to do the following: when the user does something on Form A, Form B has to be open and the Forms should be located on the sides (Form A to the left side, Form B to the right side) of the display so the user can see them at a time.

However both Form A and Form B has an automatic centering function set when used alone.

Is there a way I could push this from code? I can't fine anything like that among the form's property.

Forms :: Find Current Record When Moving From One Form To Another

Aug 7, 2013

Lets say,

Form A has fields: ID, LN and FN

ID LN FN
1 A F
2 B G
3 C H
4 D I
5 E J

Form B has fields: ID, LN and TR

ID LN TR
1 A Y
2 B N
3 C Y
4 D Y
5 E N

I would like to be able to switch between these two forms and the form automatically set focus to the record that I was on the form prior. Meaning if I am on record 3 on Form A and navigate to Form B, I would like to automatically set focus to record 3. Is this possible?

A possible issue after this gets sorted out is what happens if with the same scenario above record 3 does not exits? is it possible in that instance to simply requery the form?

Forms :: How To Build A SetFocus Command

Mar 8, 2014

How can I build a SetFocus command on the fly? I am creating a Find form where the user can select their options. I am building the listing of options for the user to select from based on which form opened the Find form. All forms are set as Modal and PopUp so I have to set the focus to the form and field to be searched before I call the FindRecord command from the Find form. I am stuck on how to build the SetFocus statement when concatenating the pieces together for the obvious is not working. This is what normally works.

Code:
Forms![frmClients]![txtStreetAddress1].SetFocus

This is how I am trying to build the statement without success. How can I do this?

Code:
"Forms![frmClients]!" & Me.cboSearchField.Column(1) & ".SetFocus"

Code:
Me.cboSearchField.Column(1) = txtStreetAddress1

Forms :: Creating Required Field In A Form Before Moving To Next Record

I have created a Form based from a Table. On one of the fields, I need to be required inside the Form before moving to the next record of that form. I can not make the required field in the table, because I have to append information day to day.

Also, the required field is a combo box option that is limit to the list.

What kind of Code I can do inside the form of the specific field to make it required before clicking onto the next record. It does not matter if the processor closes out of the form before updating, only if moving to the next record.

SetFocus On Continuous Form

Nov 28, 2005

Hello,

I have a continuous form. On that form, I have a link (label) that a user can click to bring up a new form containing more info on the current record. The problem is that when the form opens, the first record is selected. If the user scrolls down to another record, and clicks the link, the form opens with info on the first record.

It seems that I need to set the record to the record that the link was clicked from, but I'm not sure how. Any help?

Thanks,
Eric

Setfocus From Pop Up Back To Already Open Form

Jan 26, 2006

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping I can get some help here.

I have a form with a search button. Click on search, search for member, then form should close and populate the fields on the form which is already open.

I figure I should use setfocus, but I am new to coding and need help. Right now, when the user clicks on the search record, it opens a new instance of the form instead of populating the data into the form that is already open.

I hope I am asking the question correctly.

This the event procedure I have set on the pop up search. It works, but is opening a new instance of the form. I tried replacing OpenForm to SetFocus with no luck.

Private Sub Member_Click()

DoCmd.OpenForm "frmDEMOGRAP", acNormal
[Forms]![frmDEMOGRAP]![txtMEMBNO] = Member
[Forms]![frmDEMOGRAP]![txtLSTNAM] = Last
[Forms]![frmDEMOGRAP]![txtFSTNAM] = First
[Forms]![frmDEMOGRAP]![txtMIDNAM] = MI
[Forms]![frmDEMOGRAP]![txtBTHDAT] = BirthDate
[Forms]![frmDEMOGRAP]![cmbGENDER] = gender

DoCmd.close acForm, "frmMEM", acSaveNo

End Sub

Thanks in advance for the help.

Modules & VBA :: Open Form And Setfocus To Specific Control

I have a from that has information icons that opens a separate form to support users make the right choice on a form. With each information form users are able to choose "Yes" or "No" and then it returns them back to the form they started. I am having trouble setting the focus to the control the user original left the form from.

Form A
Control 1
Control 2
Control 3

Form B
Information for Control 1

Form C
Information for Control 2

Form D
Information for Control 3

For Forms B - C I would like the form to close, open Form A and then set focus to the control that the form was providing information for.For example, if you are on Form C and you make a decision, I want Form C to close, Form A to open and focus to be set to Control 2.

Code:
Private Sub image5_Click()
Dim sWHERE As String
Criminal_Background.Value = "Yes"

[code]...

Forms :: Main Form Which Contains A Sub Form In Data Sheet View

Nov 28, 2013

I have a main form (tsTimeSheetMain) which contains a sub form (tsTimeSheetDataNewSub) in data sheet view. When I click off one row onto another row in the sub form, it triggers this code:

Forms!tsTimeSheetMain!ProjectMonSum.Requery

i.e. it tries to requery the ProjectMonSum field (on the main form) which is a dsum calculated field. This works fine and updates the ProjectMonSum field (which dsums values from the same datasource as the subform.

However, this seems to put the cursor back to the top left field in the subform (datasheet view), rather than leave it in the field I click on (in the subform).

Why is this happening and what is a decent workaround this issue? I just want to update the calculated dsum field each time you update values in the subform.

Blank Form In Form View But Fields Present In Design View

Oct 19, 2005

After reading many of the posts here, I decided that one of the problems with the tables in the db I was working on was in the primary keys. I had used the same field name as the primary key in all of my tables. This was RecipID, which was a user entered textbox with an example in a label beside it showing the format to use.

After reading stuff here, I decided this wasn't a good idea. So I changed RecipId to be an autonumber in the parent table (Household_Info) and a long integer foreign key in the children. Also, I added some fields to the parent table to identify the head of household (lastname, firstname)

I already had a continuous form made with a subform and a pop-up form associated with it based on my previous tables. Reran the query underlying the form, and the new fields showed up in the field list box for the form. The fields are all still present in design view, but I get a totally blank form in form view. I checked the forms recordsource and made sure that it was set to the new query.

Can anyone give me an idea about what I'm overlooking? Do I have to recreate the form?

(Sorry if this is a repeat of a question someone has already addressed, but I couldn't turn up any relevant threads after several hours of searching.)

Thanks, Charlotte

I want to "zoom" to the underliyng data from pivot view. When in excel someone doubleclicks a field in a pivot table, it automatically creates a table containing all the lines that field were made up from. I want to achieve the same behaviour in Access.I started to think towards a VBA coda, that could be initiated from the form's double click event. It should go to datasheet view with the prpoer filter criterias.
