Forms :: Multiple Records From Query Not Displaying On Form
Nov 18, 2013
I have a form that a user will use to search records. Upon selecting a record, there are three buttons that allows the user to look at more detailed information. This information will be on the many side of the relationship. So I will have multiple values. The called form is just a popup form that I use for several other instances, like displaying memo fields from other tables.
The problem I am having is that only one record shows up at a time on the called form. I have read through the postings and have changed the properties for Default View, Filter on Load, Data Entry, etc. Nothing seems to change the outcome. I have run the query in SQL view and have no issues. It returns the correct records and multiple rows when expecting. Why they don't show up on the form. There are no errors, just the first record from the many side of the relationship shows up in the form. I would like all records to show up, just like when I run the query.
Code:
SELECT Capability
FROM Process_Meetings_Capabilities, Process_Meetings
WHERE Process_Meetings_Capabilities.Meeting_ID = Process_Meetings.Meeting_ID
AND Process_Meetings_Capabilities.Meeting_ID = 2;
Button Code
Code:
Private Sub Capabilities_btn_Click()
strSQL = "SELECT Capability AS Results"
strSQL = strSQL & " FROM Process_Meetings_Capabilities, Process_Meetings"
strSQL = strSQL & " WHERE Process_Meetings_Capabilities.Meeting_ID = Process_Meetings.Meeting_ID"
strSQL = strSQL & " AND Process_Meetings_Capabilities.Meeting_ID = " & Me!Meeting_cmbo.Column(0)
I have a form where users can look through different records as well as add a new record through a control button. When a new record is added, all the relevant data should end up in the corresponding back end tables.
The problem I am having is that some of the new records I am adding work perfectly (sync with the tables, etc). Other records, however, are showing up in the tables but not in the actual form. For example, when I attempt to search in the form for the record name, nothing comes up.
The Datasheet View is set to No, so it's definitely not that. I'm not really sure where else to look - the new records appear in tables and the report I have linked to the form, they just don't all show up in the actual form!
The user select the class from [Combo28] for the unit already in [Textbox named Unit] from Form 1 and wants to list all the students for that particular class and unit in form 2.
I have tried god knows how many different codes. I've been playing with:
At the moment I have a field 'Author' which is displayed using a subform. The user can cycle through the many authors that are associated with each record in the main form. However, what I'd like to do is to display each record simultaneously in the same control, and with a little bit of playing around in VB get the form to work out how many Authors there are and display the names in a particular format. I.e.,
Bloggs, Jones & Smith Hank & Mason
See what I mean? Does anyone know how I might refernce the records. So logically it would be:
I am designing a book collection database where each book can contain multiple authors. I used three tables; tblBooks, tblAuthors, tblBookAuthorJOIN. The tblBookAuthorJOIN allows me to create a subform with drop down combo boxes in the Books form linking multiple authors to each books indexed field. The Author table contains the usual FirstName, LastName, MiddleName fields. I would to be able to display the names of each author in the forms header but I am having difficulty.
For example a book may have two authors such as:
Authors table would contain values such as
Last Name: Grisham First Name: John
Last Name: Twain First Name: Mark
Textbox in header would display: John Grisham; Mark Twain
The authors would be displayed in the following format in the same order as listed in the subform datasheet.
I have a multiple column combo box on my form, that is correctly populating. When I make a selection, it displays the result from the first column. Bound column seems correct, as my table is being populated correctly.
1 - Can I display the values from both columns after the selection has been made?
2 - If not, can I choose to display the second column (not the first) after the user has made a selection?
I have a combo box with a list of names in, and a table for each of those people.
When one of these names is selected, i want the contents of the corresponding table to display in a form. Easy Enough.
But...how do I get these tables displaying in one form depending on which name is selected, to save me having 7 copies of the same form just with different sources. All the field names are the same.
One solution I thought of is to put all the data in one table, but would really rather keep it separate.
By means of a multiple value checklist the Field: "Problem" can be selected (marked).The multiple value field information is stored in the table beginsituation in the form Beginsituation. This stored (selected fields only) information I want to be fetched from the table beginsituation and shown in the multiple value checklist in another form called Progress. The user can than change the selection via the multiple value checklist if the user wants this and this information will be stored in the table: "Progress". However I could not get the in the previous form (Beginsituation) selected values in the multiple value checklist.
I want to create a form in MS access for General Journal input for an accounting software. Problem is that my client required a form in which he can input as many Debits and/or credits as he likes, for one transaction on one form. For example it may be 2 debits and 4 Credits in one transaction. Its a simple one table entry with fields; TrNo (Transaction Number), Date, Type (Debit or Credit), Amount, and Narration (for details of transaction). Out of these field TrNo, Date & Narration will be same for all debits & credits in one transaction.
Basically I have a table where freelancers have multiple records for each module they teach. What I am trying to do is show all records for each person onto the same form, but anything I have followed still only brings up the first record.
This information is all on the same table, so would this be easier to be on separate tables to then create relationships?
I am attempting to setup a database and need setting up a form that captures/enters multiple records from one form.
We have batches of case files consisting of 25 folders each. I would like to setup the form where the user only has to enter the [User], [FileGroupID], [Examiner] and [DateAssigned] just once, but also allow for the individual 25 case file numbers in that batch to be entered. (See attached image)
So far I have created 2 tables; BatchLog table which would capture the batch details that is entered once and a CaseFiles table which would capture the individual case file numbers.
I've developing a QA/QC database for testing chemical products and I'm stuck on the best way to continue with adding multiple records by using one form.
I have two tables:
tblProductSpecs with two primary keys, "ProductName" and "TestName"
tblResults with three primary keys, "ProductName", "TestName", and "LotNumber" and a number field named "Value"
A product can have multiple tests associated with it, e.g:
ProductName - TestName XXX - Density, pH ZZZ - Density YYY - % soluble, cloud point , freeze point This is my tblProductSpecs table
I want to store the "Value" of each "TestName" of the "LotNumber" of that "ProductName" in tblResults by a form. (All TestName values are number values).
I want a form where I can select "ProductName" and have the "TestName"s displayed for that "ProductName". Then I want to store the value of that "TestName" for that "ProductName" and "LotNumber" in tblResults.
The problem is that each test per product per lot number is a record and I can't figure out a way to create multiple records from one form.
I am on code want to display records on the form by order_number, but i am unable to do it.
Private Sub Combo63_AfterUpdate() Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Dim intcount As Integer On Error GoTo ErrorHandler Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("SELECT * FROM Master_Log WHERE Order_number = " & Combo63.Value & "", dbOpenSnapshot)
I have a main form which displays data regarding stock takes for a number of locations. The form is bound to a query which is based on a table containing a STOCKTAKE_ID field which is an autonumber field. The STOCKTAKE_ID is present on the main form
I then have a subform which is linked to the mainform via STOCKTAKE_ID.
When I open the form for a particular location the subform displays data, no problem. When I do the same for other locations the form is blank. If I check the table that the subform is based on, there is a record with correct STOCKTAKE_ID but for some reason the form won't display it. There are also no duplicates.
I am attempting to run a query with fields from 6 tables. These tables have been related, but just a simple ID to ID throughout all of the tables. When I select the fields I would like to be in query using the disign wizard it will allow me to create the query, however it will not display and data.
Originally, the query wizard would not allow me to insert all of the different tables fields in the query because "they were not related", so I went back and did the ID to ID relationships. Like I said this now allows me to create the query, but unfortunately no data appears.
I have an unbound new contact data entry form that adds records to many different tables. I have no problems adding one record to a child table at a time, but one of the things we are collecting is a list of online networks a person belongs to, and I want to be able to stick a "check all that apply box" on my form and have it add multiple records to the child table. Here's the basic set up, I have a parent table with the main contact information with a primary key field "IID", a lookup table with "Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter..." etc in it with a primary key field "online_id", and a bridge table to link the two which should have multiple entries for IID, one for each online_id. I want to use a listbox (or something like it) that the user can select multiple online networks and then have records added to the bridge table. I can figure out how to add the listbox on the form, what I can't figure out is how to get the values out of the listbox. T
I work at a small mental health clinic and am trying to accomplish the following.
What I have:I have one table that lists all of the patients, their phone number, address, etc.
In another table, it lists the medications that each patient takes, as well as the strength, dosage, etc.
The two tables have a relationship via the "Patient ID" column in each table.
Most patients have multiple entries in the second table, as most patients take multiple medications.
What I am attempting to accomplish:The main form in my database simply lists all the patients names in datasheet view. I want to be able to click a Patient's name, then go to a form that lists all of that patients medications. I've attached a screenshot that encapsulates precisely what I am looking to accomplish.
Since most patients take multiple medications, I need to be able to list multiple records in a single form, grouped by medication name, just like in the attached image.
I am uncertain as to how to accomplish this. I've tried using subforms but it doesn't list the data at all? Also, it looks like an Access report can create precisely what I need, but I need to have a live form that I can use to update data real-time.
I am curious to see if threre is a way to display the number of records on a form in a text box. I know access has this number on the bottom of the form, but it's a vision issue for me.
I have an issue with a couple of my combo boxes. When in form mode the drop down menu displays a list of options (taken from my source table), this is fine, but the problem is that it allows the user to select more than one of the options in the form of checkboxes. This is not what I intended.
I've attached to pictures to demonstrate the problem. The first is ComboBoxQuery (the one with the problem) and the second is ComboBoxQueryWorkign (the one without a problem).
I'm not sure why this is happening and I've tried comparing all the properties of both these combo boxes and changing some of them to see if I can eliminate the problem without any joy.
I use a very standard SELECT statement to pull the data for the combo box:
SELECT CountryID, CountryName FROM tblCountryInfo ORDER By CountryName
trying to enable database users to filter records based on column names which i have in a combobox. They enter the required value in a textbox and click the "Find" button.The code (linked to button click event) is not throwing any errors but the records are not being filtered.
I have two tables, and I made a union query (tbl1 UNION ALL SELECT ...tbl2). Problem is, I have two entries that are identical in both tbl1 and tbl2, but I want to include BOTH of them in the union query. Even though I used the ALL operator, only one set shows up!! I'm pulling out my hair trying to figure this out. Please help, and thanks so much in advance!:(
