Forms :: Multiple Values For Drop Down Boxes

Feb 19, 2014

I have created a database that has both English and French forms feeding information into the same table. I'm not concerned if the info stored in the table is stored in French or in English. It all works fine other then the drop down boxes in the forms, here I only seem to be able to either have the English or the French options visible on both the English and the French form. Is there a way to have the English options on the English form and the French options on the French form, both feeding the results into the same field in the table.

Forms :: Change ComboBox Drop Down Menu From Displaying Checkboxes For Multiple Values

Oct 14, 2013

I have an issue with a couple of my combo boxes. When in form mode the drop down menu displays a list of options (taken from my source table), this is fine, but the problem is that it allows the user to select more than one of the options in the form of checkboxes. This is not what I intended.

I've attached to pictures to demonstrate the problem. The first is ComboBoxQuery (the one with the problem) and the second is ComboBoxQueryWorkign (the one without a problem).

I'm not sure why this is happening and I've tried comparing all the properties of both these combo boxes and changing some of them to see if I can eliminate the problem without any joy.

I use a very standard SELECT statement to pull the data for the combo box:

SELECT CountryID, CountryName FROM tblCountryInfo ORDER By CountryName

Forms :: Count Or Sum From Values In Multiple Text Boxes In Form

May 24, 2014

I am trying to improve a work process using an existing Access DB.We have a form with multiple texts boxes on it. I need to search through these boxes to determine the total number of occurrences of a specific value. This is not tied to a table.

The text boxes I'd be searching through all have related names: "Element0" to "Element40". And I'd most likely be looking for a "/" within the value in the boxes (value could be 12345/01, for example).Would then be using the result in VBA to apply some conditions, so I would prefer if I could do the count in VBA (the count/sum is the part that is hanging me up.)

I've found multiple ways to accomplish this from a table, but nothing for what I have to work with.I am unclear in my description of what I am trying to do, let me know and I will try to provide more information.

Forms :: 3 Linked Drop Down Boxes

Aug 13, 2013

Is there a way in which i can link three drop down boxes together?

I'll create an example of what I mean...

I'll attach a Excel file which contains two identical filters, one of them where the filter is turned on.

If I select the "Serviced" filter, I am left with three options for "Make" and two options for "color".
If I select the "color" as "White" I am left with just one "Make" - "MG".

I understand that some sort of "hierarchy" needs to be in place so I will Make it so that "Serviced" Must be entered first, then "Color" then "Make" so that if you select a different "Service", the "Color" and "Make" will repopulate with the appropriate values.

This is certainly possible with a REDICULOUS amount of coding that would map each value to its corresponding values however is this possible some other (easier) way?

Forms :: Default Values Disappear If Put Values In Text Boxes

Sep 17, 2013

In Access 2010 I have a Data Entry Form on which I have an unbound textbox in the header that the user can put a default date in. In the body of the form is a bound textbox that records the date and the default value is set as =defaultdatestat (obviously the name of the box in the header).

Problem: The default date shows up perfectly until a value is put in any of the other text boxes.

For further info : If you put values in text boxes default value disappears; if you then push escape the default value reappears when the values in the text boxes disappear.

Forms :: Changing Multiple Text Boxes To Combo Boxes?

Mar 14, 2014

there is a way to convert multiple text boxes to combo boxes all at once, rather than right clicking on them one at a time, and selecting Change to.

I have a form with about 50 fields and most of them need to be converted to combo boxes. I'd always done it manually one at a time up to this point, but I'm trying to build up my learning and look for smarter ways to do things.

Forms :: How To Get Values From Another Table Based On Drop Down List

Aug 6, 2014

In my form's table (tblMain), I've got a lookup field (drop-down list) that lists the primary key field from a different table (tblDiff). tblDiff includes 3 more fields. In my form for tblMain, I want to include 3 more textboxes that get filled up with these 3 fields from tblDiff when the corresponding primary key is selected in the drop-down box.

General :: Summary Form / Home Page - Text Boxes Values From Multiple Queries

Jan 20, 2014

I am currently developing a database to provide a friend with an auction tracking and ordering system.

I will have a number of questions the first is related to the Home Page/Dashboard/Summary form I am creating. I basically have a few sections, one of which is a combo box offering the user to select an auction to view in the summary section. This summary section contains the list of lots but I also hope to to expand on this and create multiple text boxes, each containing the answer to a number of queries (totals etc).

I have written all the queries and can see the results however as the form does not have a record source I would like to know how to make each text box populate with the result of different queries (ideally in vb - I am using ms access 2010)?

I have tried a few things, control source doesn't apply as I have no record source (i guess). I investigated Dlookup/Dcount but am unsure if these apply for the same reason. I understand I am likely to need a recordset etc in vb and have already tried a few things but unfortunately none of them work.

Forms :: Prevent Duplicates From Multiple Drop Downs In Access 2013

Jul 28, 2015

I'm in Access 2013 and I built a form with multiple drop downs. Here is what I have in the same order of which the user must choose from......

Document "Field Observation", "Monthly Inspection", "Safety Roster" (The user must first choose the document from this drop down he is recording)

Supervisor "First & Last Name" (The user then chooses the first & last name of the specific Supervisor name he is recording the document for from this drop down)

Manager - This field automatically populates based on Supervisor.
AOR - This field automatically populates based on Supervisor.
Org Unit - This field automatically populates based on Supervisor.

Month "January", "February", etc. (The user then chooses the Month of which the document will need to be applied to)

I would like the form to trigger an error with "This document is already recorded for this month" when the user chooses "Monthly Inspection" OR "Safety Roster" for a specific "Supervisor" for a specific "Month" that is already recorded in "TBL_DataTracker". The TBL_DataTracker is where all of my records are stored.

Forms :: Filter Text Boxes By Two Combo Box Values?

Aug 6, 2013

I have a form with two combo boxes. The first box lists switch names from a query, and the second lists switchports from another query. The switchport query lists all the switchports for whatever switch is selected in the Switch Name combo box, and all the settings for that port (one column per setting). I want each text box to display the corresponding data from the switchport query for the switch selected in the first combo box and the switchport selected in the second combo box.

Forms :: Cascading Combo Boxes With Default Values

May 4, 2013

I've got a form (frmMain) with two combo boxes (cmbCategory and cmbProducts). I have set the combo boxes up to be cascading, so that when you select a value in the cmbCategory box, it influences what is visible and selectable in the cmbProducts box. What I wanted to happen is this:

1. User selects a category
2. cmbProducts defaults to the most recently entered Product within that category, and the form pulls up that product's details.

I have the cascading combo boxes set up so cmbCategory has an AfterUpdate event that runs a macro. In the macro is the command to refresh the cmbProducts box, and the cmbProducts box's RecordSource is set to a query that filters the Products based on the value of the cmbCategory box. I then set the cmbProducts Default Value to a DMax command that pulls the largest ID number from the query. Everything works great, except when I choose one category (the correct product comes up, the latest one entered for that product), then go back and choose a different category without reloading the form. The cmbProducts box stays showing the previous Product, and doesn't automatically update with the latest product for the new category. So it works the first time out of the gate, then just stops working, and won't work until I close and reopen the form again.

I've tried the refresh command, and I've tried adding an AfterChange event to the cmbCategories box. Nothing seems to work! I also tried running a close form/open form command in cmbProducts' After Update to enable the DMax command again, but this blanks out my Categories and Products boxes (which it's supposed to... I don't want anything to come up when you first open the form, both should be blank until you start selecting values).

Forms :: Input Values Through Unbound Text Boxes

Nov 18, 2013

I have a report that selects and shows records where a specified date field is within the range of 2 dates that the user enters.I created 2 unbound textboxes on the report with a Shortdate format and InputMask 0000-00-00;0;_.When user enter correct dates, then everything works fine: selection is properly done, the right records show up.But I have 2 problems:

1-the input mask is not working: the user can input anything!
2-the 2 unbound textboxes do not show the dates entered by the user.

It seems the value entered bu user does not go straight into the unbound textbox. How do I either intercept the value entered by the user directly into the unbound textbox or via a variable?

Forms :: Selecting Multiple Check Boxes

Nov 18, 2013

I have a form that has three checkboxes (IDDocument, DrivingLicence and Certification) on it. What the form is looking to do is based on the selection it will open a scanned document of the requested documents. There are 5 permutations that could be selected (either first on only, second one only, third one only, first and second and first and third). How do I code the IF Statement this so that the system will look at the different options and then do certain things accordingly. The code I have at the moment is:

Public Sub ProcessRequest_Click()
Dim Form1 As String
Dim Form2 As String
Path = "Staff" & Me!EmployeeName & ""
If Me!IDDocument = True And Me!DrivingLicence = False And Me!Certification = False Then

Do one thing

ElseIf Me!IDDocument = False And Me!DrivingLicence = True And Me!Certification = False Then

Do a second thing

ElseIf Me!IDDocument = False And Me!DrivingLicence = False And Me!Certification = True Then

Do a thrid thing

ElseIf Me!IDDocument = True And Me!DrivingLicence = True And Me!Certification = False Then

Do a forth thing

ElseIf Me!IDDocument = True And Me!DrivingLicence = False And Me!Certification = True Then

Do a final thing

End If
End Sub

All the bits work (the form stuff) but my IF statements are not working. It seems that access is seeing the checkboxes as null and so the IF is not working when i check box 1 and leave the other two unchecked.

Drop Down Boxes In Form Linked?

Jan 28, 2005

I have a form ive created as part of my database used for data input.

Someone opens the form , enters their project number, and then enters what country it is in, what region it is in, and what sub region it is in. They are all dropdown menus with the information coming from a table via a lookup wizard.

What i want is when someone choses england in the country field, i want the region field to only displays the regions in england, and then in the sub region field i want only the sub regions that are in the regions displayed in the drop down list.

Anyone know how i can achieve this please?

I have attached a copy of the forms and tables

Forms :: Cascading Combo Boxes (multiple Filters)

Feb 23, 2015

I'm having some issues using the cascading combo box technique on my form.

I have a form, which contains a subform in continuous view, which contains a few combo boxes.

One of those combo boxes (available resources) should be filtered depending on the value of 3 other combo boxes (task types, source languages, target languages).

What I would like to be able to do is run the filtering routine on this resources cbo (currently VBA code that changes the row source value) when the user clicks on it.

It's kind of working right now: when I click on the arrow to open up the drop down list, the values are indeed filtered. The problem I'm having though is that, if I then click on that same cbo for another record (or any other cbo in another record for that matter), the resource cbo of the record I previously set gets deleted.

Forms :: Multiple Field Search In Combo Boxes?

cbo1 - choose YEAR, TYPE, LOCATION, COST, COLOUR, SIZE
cbo2 - choose YEAR, TYPE, LOCATION, COST, COLOUR, SIZE
cbo3 - choose YEAR, TYPE, LOCATION, COST, COLOUR, SIZE
cbo4 - choose YEAR, TYPE, LOCATION, COST, COLOUR, SIZE
cbo5 - choose YEAR, TYPE, LOCATION, COST, COLOUR, SIZE

criteria are stored in txtbox1, txtbox 2 etc. so the search string could be

WHERE cbo1 = txtbox1 AND cbo2 = txtbox2 etc.

If the user doesn't choose anything for a combo, the search should ignore that field.

Forms :: Duplicate Multiple Text Boxes And Option

Apr 3, 2013

I am trying to run a check that will make the user aware if the request they are adding via the form is likely to be a duplicate. If so I want the option to allow or reject the entry. Alternatively I have seen solutions that just notify on the form is something might be a duplicate, by highlighting a textbox red for example. There will be duplicates across these fields but there are many other options included on the form, as I said this is just an indicataion.

The table is called
"MainAc"

The form is called
"SDC Request Form"

The comparison fields are called:
"First_name" - Text
"Surname" - Text
"Change_Number" - Number
"Date_from" - Date
"Date_to" - Date

Ive been trying the Dcount() function, IIF() function but no joy.I tried to putting the below in the before update event, but it didnt run at all, now Ive put it on the button click acion that duplicates records for me, however it just returns a non duplicate responce regardless.

Dim PreviousRecordID As Long
PreviousRecordID = 0
PreviousRecordID = DLookup("first_name", "MainAc", "first_name<>" & First_Name & _
" AND surname=" & Surname & " AND change_number=" & Change_Number)

[code]...

This was a copy and modify from an example database but I dont entirely understand what each part does.

Relationships And Building Drop Down Boxes From Various Tables

Aug 2, 2006

Hi

I am trying to build a database in which there is a main table and in this main table there are products and there are types of products eg.

Ringtones - is the Product and Type - True Tone(mp3), category - R&B
another eg is Graphic is the product and Wallpaper is the type of graphic Category - friends .

I would like to combine this so when you are in the MAIN products table with
"Code" ,"Product" ,"Type" , "Category", "Title", "Artist" and "Price" that the drop down boxes say for instance when you click on "product" and you chose ringtone then in the "type" column there are only the options from the Ringtone type and not also for graphic etc.. is this hectic to do?
Hope I have explained it ok...?
Thanks !
Really hope some one can help me with this ?
