I have created a form to select multiple records for a transmittal report. I added a button to the form which I would like to open the report to view the current record. In the On Click event I added the following code:

The debugger keeps highlighting the row above shown in red. I've used this same code before on other forms and it worked but not sure why it isn't working this time. The only difference with this form and previous ones is that this form contains a multiple values combo checkbox (hope that's the correct term). The query that the report is based on changed the names of the field names so that TransmittalID on the form is TBLTransmittal.TransmittalID in the query.
I've tried the code with and without the extended name but each time the "Do.Cmd..." is highlighted.
I am new to access and I recently encountered a double click issue
My form loads perfectly on double click event but it shows the first record instead of selected record.
My search is based on a PersonID but each PersonID has different WorkID that I wish to display on double click but it always shows the first WorkID instead of my selected record
I have tried changing the filters in the form properties but it still doesn't work for me.

I would like to select a record on an already open form called "form_candidates" using a search facility but can't get it to work.
In "form_candidates" the data settings are set to "yes" (filters/edits/deletions/additions) and data entry is set to "no". On opening, the form is set to go to a new record.
In this form I have a button that opens a record search form so both forms are now open. I enter the first few letters of the surname into a text box, press a button and the listbox is populated.
In the doubleclick event of the list box I have the following code:

So I double click on the record, the candidate form is being filtered but the record isn't being shown.
Hello, I have a problem with my database and need some help.
My database has a main menu named MENU which allows to access all the different forms of the program I am trying to develop. One of these forms is named MASTER and has its source to the main table of my db also named MASTER. To open the form and add a new recorset I simple press a button to which I have associate the following simple code:
Once in the form and add the data I have to close it so that it can be saved. I then go back to the MENU form and use a listbox to open the selected record. The listbox its based on a query of table MASTER and has a criteria (SSN) that allows me to open the record with the double click event.
My problem is that I need to append my data into different tables and do not know a method which would allow me to do this without having first to close the active form (MASTER) and then running the append queries. Is there a way this can be done?
What I am trying to do is:
- Write my data into the active form - Append my data from the active form into different other tables without having to close the form - Still have my active form opened in my database so that I can open another form (CHILD).
Please note that after that I have closed the form, I am currently using this code to append the Master Table to the other tables:

This avoids having to save twice the same data. Can anyone help me on this?
Hi All, I am looking for some help with a project I am working on where I need to automatically print a report from my database every time a new record is added to the table. The table contains 13 fields and the report needs to display 12 of them, the other being the index which is set to Autonumber.
The table is being updated solely by ODBC, this is working OK.
There is the potential for records to be added to the table very quickly via the ODBC link, so I need to safeguard that the report is being populated with correct information from the record that triggered the print event. Also, should multiple records be added in close succession, a report needs to be correctly generated/printed for each of one. The DB is to have no user intervention, and will just run on the PC at startup with all access menus/controls locked out.
Any information on how you think I should structure this, or any examples of helpful code that you might have would be very much appreciated.

This works fine when I put in a 10 digit NHS number but opens a blank record when I enter a four digit or six character/digit PatientNumber. Both patient number and NHS number are text fields in the underlying table.
I have a form with a combo box that is populated by (1) a union query, and (2) a make table query from that union query. The reason I have both is because I want to have an autonumber and I can't do that directly in the first query.
So any time I update any of the tables that are in the union query, then go back to the form, i want the the combo box to update the list which means I have to run (1) and then (2) to repopulate the combo box with the updates.
In ContactIDForm it contain 1 textbox name 'TextBox' with Button Name 'Btn'
In ContactIDForm there is only 1 Text Box ContactIDTextBox and 1 Button. User Enters ID in TextBox and On Button Click Event it should check data from TextBox in Table name (ContactDetailTable) in field ContactID and if there is record matching, ContactInfoForm should Open else NewContactForm should open with ContactIDTextBox value in it.

I am having a problem in my access database. I have a a form called Compliance Register. When this window opens it lists all of the requirements of a particular department. There is an ID and Source ID(this field can contain the same number such as multiple 17's). The descriptions match up to what is supposed to be shown. However when I double click on the item, it brings up a Compliance Status window. This is where things go wrong.
It shows the status listed as the first Source ID that matches the number, but does not seem to also be matching up the ID as well It must match both ID and Source ID since Source ID can have the same number multiple times down the list..

Under stlink criteria, i need it to not only pull the ID, but it has to have a "AND" Source ID. I need it to pull the record that matches BOTH numbers.
I have a continuous form with a button 'Cmd1' & a textbox 'txtMail' which is set to visible no.
When the user clicks Cmd1 - then txtMail becomes visible.
I can do it using vba on the buttons click event but when it executes txtMail for all the records become visible.
How do I use a button's click event on the form's current record - Private Sub Form_Current() so that when the user clicks Cmd1 on the current record only txtMail for that record becomes visible.
I want to add an event on Form Header when double click it will filter the values, which i did with macro, but could it happen on second time double clicking it it refreshes whole as original?

I am using a continuous form and would like my users to be able to change a field background color to a light red by double-clicking. The user would also be able to change it back to white by double-clicking again.
The code I am using (below) changes the field background color for all records. I need my code to only change the field color of the current record and cannot seem to find how to do that. The field name is [System_CurrentStatus].

I changed the names of the buttons, reconstructed the code under those names, went to the modules and changed names, made sure that a sub o function name is not duplicated in the project... But helas the error is still there. It used to work and suddenly does not work.
I am using a form to add data and would like to know if is possible to run a code via macro that allows me to print the records that are showing on the screen (I believe called the active records) without have first closed and saved the data.
I've got a "Made in the USA" yes/no toggle field in my database. When I go to print out the info in a report, I'd like for the report to recognize whether I have a true/false condition, and print out "Made in the USA" where appropriate?
I have been looking for days on the net for my listbox problem. It is there and found a few, even on this forum. but when i try the solutions mentioned i am in a total loss and do not know what to change to make it work for me.
I have a form named A/B Retriever with a record source qry input AB Bins Than i have a unbound combobox with row source qry input AB Bins. This populates 8 textboxes with B through I carton boxes, stored in a bin. The user selects a Bin location from the combobox and can put a "x" in a textbox to illustrate that the box is empty. This works perfect.
Underneath the input bin and box part i have 8 listboxes that shows a query that has counted the empty boxes with the corresponding bin location. this also works. but the question from users where, If i click on a, lets say empty B-box at Bin location 12A20, they want the combobox automatically focus on the combobox with the corresponding Bin location. This is a quick way for them to delete a empty box (remove the X).
I'm working with a database with employess info in access, When I click on an employees name in a form, I want to fire off another form with there info, what I have now it does nothing.
I have a list box control on a form and i'd like to set up a right-click property. Can this be done at all? When I open the Events tab on the property window..there is no right-click property :confused:
I have a list box that I can select mulitple items from - I then click a search button and it runs a query that finds what I am looking for from a table and then displays the results in a subform. In the subform I can input weights and get a percent....anyhow.
How do I set up a button so that it will print out a report or the report from the subform information that is currently being viewed.
Also, I can already do this by clicking a button on the form and pulling up the installed report program but, you need to input data to get this report.
I kinda want this button to be a "I need it now" type of print option.

How can you disabled a click event on a text box ? I don't want to use ENABLE = false because the background of the texte box comes gray. So, any alternative solution?
I'm trying to code an event that would occur when a user double-clicks on the Record Selector of a subform. I want it to then open a form that would provide additional details about the record selected in the subform. I can't find documentation to tell me (1) where to put the code, i.e. subform double-click event vs. subform detail double-click event, etc.; (2) how to reference the record id of the selected record for use in the filter for the form that is going to be opened (the underlying query contains the ID for the record). Can anyone help or point me to documentation?
I have a form which has a tab control on it. The form itself is based on 1 table (tblCustomers). The tab control has 2 pages.
Page 1 shows 6 fields from tblCustomers.
Page 2 of the tab control shows 2 embdedded forms. Those forms are based on queries created from tblCustomers. one shows records with a date entered into one of the fields, the other shows records that have no dates.
What I want to be able to do is when I see a company name in one of the ebedded forms (Page 2), I want to be able to double click that record and it switches me back to Page 1 and shows the the related details of whichever company I double clicked.
I have changed the double click event in the emdedded form and using the builder to create something. I also added a setfocus command as I read about that somewhere (but i have no idea what it does). Through this I managed to get it to switch from Page 2 to Page 1 when I double click, but it only ever takes me to record 1 regardless of which company i double clicked.
i may have this deisgned totally wrong so please feel free to point me in the right direction.
I'm calling a Public Click event on a Form, from a Delete Record button on another form. Debugging shows that the code executes correctly line for line... but the 'Event' doesn't function as it should. The main feature I need to to iterate over the controls on the second form to disable them, to prevent users from typing in, causing relationship error. Why is this?! Even after the execution of the code... I can click on the refresh button myself, which will disable the control, but not if I call the event from the code.
