Forms :: One Table Two Forms - Print Form2 Using Form1
Nov 24, 2014
I have a Lost/Found property database which we use to keep record of the lost/found property and its working fine.
The database has one table and two forms.
One form (LostFoundForm) is visible to the user in which they enter data, this form has two sections; Item(s) & Finder's details and the second section is about Restoring details.
However the second form (ClaimReceiptForm) is hidden to the users (for manual data entry) and has only one section which is exactly the same as the first form's first section, i.e., Item(s) & Finder's details. This second form takes the data automatically from the first form because the table behind them is same and fields are same (please see attachment). Up to here it's all working fine.
I would like to introduce a Checkbox or a CommandButton in the LostFoundForm which when we click should pull up a msgbox asking "Do you want to print the receipt for this item(s)?" with a Yes/No option. On clicking "No" it should, obviously, settle down but on clicking "Yes" it should print the "corresponding record" from the ClaimReceiptForm.
I have a database of books. I have a combobox listing 3 different status W M R.
W is for Whats next to read, M is for more books too read and R for books read or reading now. I can enter a new book by calling up the add a book form from any of those 3 forms.
If I forget to enter a letter in the combo box then the book is lost to those 3 forms as what they see depends on that status letter and I have to go to the table and enter a letter from there.
I want to know if I can auto populate the field (W M R) depending on which form opened the add a book form.
I have 2 forms which are based on separate tables. When I open Form2 from a command button on Form1, I would like the common boxes on the Form2 (name, ID #, ets.) to automatically copy the info from the boxes on Form1 with the same names. How can I do this? TIA
I have an Account form (Form1) and it displays account information along with their many addresses for the account (in a datagrid embedded form). I hit "update or add address" button to launch form2 (Address Form). From this point I want to query the Address and AddressAccountLink table with a passed in Global Variable (AccountID) from Form 1 so that just the Addresses pertaining to that Account show up, instead of all the Addresses for all accounts.
How do I do this? I've tried a String Query in the Private Sub Form_Load() but it gives me errors, here that is: sSQLQueryAddr = "SELECT tblLinkAccAdd.AccountID, tblLinkAccAdd.AddressID, tblAddress.* FROM tblAddress INNER JOIN tblLinkAccAdd ON tblAddress.AddressID = tblLinkAccAdd.AddressID WHERE (((tblLinkAccAdd.AccountID)=" & v_accountid & "))" (it's on one line in the code) followed by:
Any ideas? Am I on the right track? Do I move this query elsewhere? The address form is made from a query -- querying the Address and address/account link table.
Oh, the v_accountid does have the correct value passed to it...
I have a form where a different form opens up when a user clicks a certain button. What I’m trying to do is assign a field value from form1's subform to a field on form2 and it’s telling me "Run-time error ‘-2147352567 (80020009)’, You can’t assign a value to this object." I'm new to VBA, but think I'm on the right track. Could someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong.
The code I'm using is: Me.txtStoreNo = [Forms]![frmCDRData4REF]![sfrmCDRData4REF].Form!txtStoreNo
I need to make a query work so that when someone enters info into a master form, it will pull the data for that job onto other forms when the job # is entered. Thanks for any help.
I have 2 form, form1 and form 2 (picture attached)
In Form 1 (main form) there are "reference" field with key pressed event then call form 2 (list of reference that user can choose)
In form 2 the problem is, when "enter" key pressed (keypress event), selection will move to next record so the data that transferred to form 1 is wrong (next record)
The question is : how to save current record in form 2 before enter and send the data to form 1
Hi all I have a data input form (Form1) In has various lookups based on input data, then the values are saved to a table. It has a print button to print data on form. It also has a return button (which runs a append and delete qry via a macro ) When the return button is pressed i need to print a different form (Form2) Do i need to lookup the table data with code or can Form2 ? Anyone point me in the right direction
I have two tables each containing fields Brand, Form, Area. Table 1 has some other information that needs to be gathered (data entry) and Table 2 is just a reference table for changes to these areas. This reference table has an additional field labeled area point value which is the value I want to "print".
The form is based off of Table 1 and has all of the fields I want the users to input. Stripped down, I have three combo boxes for the user to choose Brand, Form, and Area...I also have an unbound textbox control where I want the area point value to based off of the value of the three aforementioned boxes.. I believe this can be achieved with a lookup but I've never actually used a lookup in a control this complex before...
I have a database that has all the employees in my company with basic information. I have a auto number set up for each person. I also have on my form a subform with information about the employee's history in the company. I have bin trying for the last couple weeks, to put a button on my form, that will open up the custom report I made for the one employee, in print preview mode. Everything I have tried gives me a error. The main error I get is The database engine could not lock the table "EmployeeT" because it is already in use by another person or process. If I open the report by itself, then I get all my employees. I am looking to just open a single report from the form I am currently looking at.
I have 2 tables. One Named EmployeeT with all the employees basic information. I have a auto number with the field name EmployeeID. The 2nd table is called IncidentT, which has its own auto number, and records all the problem/incidents with the employee. For example, lates, if the did not show up, or cancelled out of that day, etc. I have the 2 tables sharing the EmployeeID, sharing the relationship. My main form, has a lot of my information and a subform, Like i said. what I try I can get rid of that error.
The only way I got it to work without the error, is when I go into properties and change the Record Set Type to Snapshot on both the form and subform. But then I can't edit the form or subform anymore.
I have forms that are printed based on a query parameter of [enter item number]. There are several of these forms that I would like to print at one time (with one command) making it easier for the user to gather their information at the beginning of the day. I also don't want to lose the ability to print them out individually as we do now.
I have a Lost/Found property database which we use to keep record of the lost/found property and it is working fine.
As per our organization's policy, we keep the item(s) for up to three months in which if it gets restored to the owner then fair enough otherwise after three months the item(s) can be claimed by the "Finder". But for this very purpose we issue the Finder with a "Claim Receipt" which he/she should bring in when claiming for the item(s) after three months period. Therefore, It's just the right time to upgrade the database to a more professional level.
I have 2 subforms embedded into one main form. Everything looks great on screen, and even when I hit the print preview button. But when I print the form out the 2 embedded forms will not print.
Hello, I have a problem with my database and need some help.
My database has a main menu named MENU which allows to access all the different forms of the program I am trying to develop. One of these forms is named MASTER and has its source to the main table of my db also named MASTER. To open the form and add a new recorset I simple press a button to which I have associate the following simple code:
Once in the form and add the data I have to close it so that it can be saved. I then go back to the MENU form and use a listbox to open the selected record. The listbox its based on a query of table MASTER and has a criteria (SSN) that allows me to open the record with the double click event.
My problem is that I need to append my data into different tables and do not know a method which would allow me to do this without having first to close the active form (MASTER) and then running the append queries. Is there a way this can be done?
What I am trying to do is:
- Write my data into the active form - Append my data from the active form into different other tables without having to close the form - Still have my active form opened in my database so that I can open another form (CHILD).
Please note that after that I have closed the form, I am currently using this code to append the Master Table to the other tables:
If Not IsNull(DLookup("[SSN]", "child", "[SSN] = '" & Me!SSN & "'")) Then Forms("MENU").Visible = False Else If IsNull(DLookup("[SSN]", "child", "[SSN] = '" & Me!SSN & "'")) Then DoCmd.OpenQuery ("AppendChild") End If End If DoCmd.OpenForm ("Child")
This avoids having to save twice the same data. Can anyone help me on this?
In Access 2007 I'm trying to print out a blank form so users can fill in rough notes while on the phone with a client, etc. I currently have a print macro button on the form, but the entire page shows up blank (titles, everything) when I try to print a an empty form.
A possible solution I've thought of is to check if the form is blank and then open and print a separate report that's just a copy of the form and printing that, but it doesn't seem like a very elegant solution.
I have a form in access 2010 that prints a document rougly 500 pages in length. I want to know if there is a way to tell the form not to print a particular page if one of the fields on the page returns the word "suspended" and or the field is blank. The page has other data on it, as do they all, but if this particular field comes back null or "suspended" I would rather it just did not print that particular page in its entirety.
I would like to add a button to a form that will print the form with the current record in it. Also, to add a level of difficulty, there are 8 subforms attached to the form. As I already have the form developed, I don't want to reinvent the wheel and go off and create a report with 8 subreports. Is this possible? If so, Can we force all the data on the form to one page?
I have a form open, but want to print only specific fields in each record. Been trying lots of filtering methods to no avail as I am a novice at filtering.
I can filter records, but cant figure out how to filter specific fields from those records.
My project goes something like this:
Each record in my form consists of listed items like on an invoice. However, not all the items on any given invoice will be printed. Therefore, I set up checkboxes beside each line, so for each invoice, I only tick the items I want to be printed from that invoice. However, I just cannot yet find a way to print the selected items.
I am trying take all the data from one field "TOTAL" and Average it out and print it in one of my forms. I would also want this data to update automatically as the totals are updated. I am attaching some screen shots of what I am talking about The first pic is the totals field that i want to have averaged up. The second pic is where I want it to be printed out.
I have the following code in the On Format Event of the report. It is used to hide duplicates which result from very loose Where parameters when I run Docmd.OpenReport. With tighter Where parameters there are no Duplicates.
I am aware that the On Format event does not fire and I am to use the On Paint event. However, the On Paint Event seems very limited. It does not have a Cancel and most code that i tried does not work.
Code: Private strLastGen As String 'Report Module Variable Private Sub Detail_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer) 'If a duplicate Generator If Me.GeneratorNumber & Me.GeneratorName = strLastGen Then Cancel = True End If ' Save the Gen Num of this record strLastGen = Me.GeneratorNumber & Me.GeneratorName
I have a form that displays a html document in a WebBrowser object. This displays fine on screen but shows up blank when printing the form. Is there any way to get this to appear on the print? I know you can right-click on the object and select "print" to print the contents of the object but ideally I'd like the page to print in the context of the form. Is this possible?
