I have a table called "Cities" which has only two fields; City & Province.I have connected it in a relationship with another table as "Include ALL records from 'Cities' and only those records from 'tblInstallations' where the joined fields are equal."I have put an "AfterUpdate" event which works and everything.
It is working fine and updates the province correctly.The problem is that is putting another city from same province in the "City" field even though I picked up different name.
Can anybody see what I'm doing wrong here. I have the following query
SELECT Contacts.Cust_FK, Contacts.ContactNr, Contacts.FirstLastName FROM Contacts WHERE (Forms.ComLogDetail.Cust_FK=Contacts.Cust_FK) ORDER BY Contacts.ContactNr;
The "Forms.ComLogDetail.Cust_FK" part should render the current record in the form ComLogDetail but its not. Any ideas?? I'm an amateur programmer so my apolgies if the solution is all too simple.
I'm fairly new to databases and have been attempting to build a multi-table database. It's not properly rationalised, but I wanted to test run it to ensure it was fit for purpose first.I've built my form, which is pushing data out to several tables, but I cannot seem to get the form to pick up previous records.
I have cleared the data out of the database and started testing it to check its usability.I entered in a full record, and flicked back and forth between the records, and everything was looking good.
Then I closed the form, and re-opened it and my record was no longer populating the form fields.I've literally changed nothing bar one field that was changed from number to text.
When we browse through records in a subform we store the records in the database.When we want to delete a records for example the third record from the five records always the first records will be deleted. How can we delete the records where the cursor is at? When we are at the third record and press the delete button the third record from the list in the subform should be deleted.
Code:
Option Compare Database Dim FocusBln As Boolean Private Sub Identificeer() Me.[Datum Aangemaakt].Visible = True Me.[Datum Aangemaakt].SetFocus If Me.[Datum Aangemaakt].Text = "" Then
I am having problems with my database pulling the wrong record. It is supposed to pull the last record entered and e-mail it to selected people. Sometimes it does this correctly and sometimes it does not. The "powers that be" (my boss) is complaining about the DB not pulling the right record. It seems to be doing it more often than not now. I have tried a repair and compact, but that doesn't do anything. I am not sure why it is doing this. Here is the code that I have in my record source of my report.
SELECT TOP 1 Booking.* FROM Booking ORDER BY [Booking].[BookingID] DESC;
I have a form and I have added a combo box to quickly find records. I used the wizard to set this up as I did not know the code. Anyway this works, but it displays the wrong value - it displays the ID number and not the text value from the table.
The record source is a table not a query.
What am I doing wrong here, I have tried changing the control source and it doesn't work.
I have a form based on a query. The query sorts records by ID number. When I open the form, it opens to a record that is not the lowest ID number. It's the same record each time that it opens to, but it's not the correct record There is no filter or sort order on the form, and it seems like starting with record 2 it is sorting correctly. any ideas? thanks.
I have converted an old Access 97 database to Access 2010. Mostly it works fine but I have a major issue with the invoicing forms. It was working in the old database but I cannot get it to work in this version.
I have the usual invoicing option where the lines of the invoice are displayed in a sub form for that customer and line totals calculated. This works fine. I have a sub form total text box in the footer of the sub form which I want to pick up from the main form so that I can add the delivery charge and VAT.
I'm new to MS Access but I'm trying to do subcontractors database for my company. I've got a menu form with to listboxes on it. First listbox is a subcontractor name if I choose the name the second list box will show me the names of the emplyess attached to this subcontractor. Second form is subcontractor details with emplyees subform. If I will dblclick subcontractor listbox it takes me to record with subcontractor but I can't figuret out how to do that if I dblclick the employee listbox it will take me to appropriet subcontractor detail and to wright employee details. PLEASE HELP ME. I'm strugling with this. Thanks
I've made it to set focus to subform, but if I will choose a subcontractor from the first listbox and dblclick on lstEmployee it is choose wrong record of the employee. Have somebody have an idea what I'm doing wrong
I don't know how to attach the file,can sombody tell me how.
Code of this listbox:
Private Sub lstEmployee_DblClick(Cancel As Integer) DoCmd.OpenForm "Subcontractors", acNormal, "", "", , acNormal DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acGoTo, Forms!Menu!lstSubcontractor Forms!Subcontractors!tblEmployeesubform.SetFocus Forms!Subcontractors!tblEmployeesubform.Form.Emplo yeeID.SetFocus DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acGoTo, Forms!Menu.Form!lstEmployee End Sub
I think last line makes me those troubles but I don't have an idea what is wrong.
I have a parent form showing some of the contents of a single record in a parent table. This form contains a button that opens a specific subform (using an IF statement based on the contents of another field in the parent table/form. There are actually any of 8 child forms/tables that could be selected and the related record is in only one of them. The relation between the tables is based on the PK of the parent table and the related FK in the child table. and the data is correct in all tables.
My problem is that when I run this button on the parent form/table it returns the appropriate form/table, but displays the first record rather than the related record. In the past (using this same process) I have been successful in getting to the right record by fiddling with the where statement (sometimes putting in a equal sign or taking it out fixes the problem). However, no matter what I do to the Where statement nothing works. I have not yet placed the final else condition for where the form selection field (VMValIdentType] is empty yet as there is no point at this time.
Here are the button macro contents:
If [VMValIdentType] = "Software" OpenForm Form Name: tmpVMValSW View: Form Filter Name:
all tables are 1 to many relationships with referential integrity. every contact can have many Authorizations every authorization can have many payment numbers many payment numbers can have many payments
all payments numbers created are based on the latest Authorization number. a single payment number will have numerous payments listed.
i have tried forms with qry, forms with tbl, forms with forms, sub forms, sub sub forms. i can get so far but then everything stops linking together. ive tried VB ( barr it i am better with Excel!! ) to open forms, link forms.
story. 1. my main form will show the current contact & all details.
2. i click a button and want to make a payment to them.
3. a form should open and automatically create a new payment number with a subform ready to receive payment details in a continuous form layout. i can then either press an apply button on the main form to save or a cancel button to completely cancel the payment number.
after this, i wanted to add a button on this form to add a new authorization number and refresh but i need to get over this hurdle first.
Please Please Please can someone guide me? the rest of my project is based like this so if i can understand how this can be done, i can move forward to complete.
Any help would be graciously received so i can at least move in a direction rather than circles!!!!!
Now, I have a form that has a 'Thicknesstxtfield' that when calculated in the form its value is 0.072 in this case . Based on the range this value falls into, I want to get the correspondant 'Factor' which in this case would be '0.98'. Guess what, ACCESS is telling me that it cannot find the value '0.072' in the table and gives me an error. Any ideas on this?
Notice that all the fields except "ID" are 'Doubles' with 4 decimal places, and I find the values using the 'DLookUp' function. I know that's where the error is because all the other ranges work fine.
I have a form used for taking inventory. One table to lookup items, one for writing values. Tables linked by an ID #. I created a text box on my form to lookup a value called PARQTY in the lookup table. I need to be able to subtract that value from the QTY that is entered into the Qty_Counted box on teh same form when they take inventory.
I created a new Text box and in the control source for it, I entered an expresion that basically says subtract The PARQTY from the QTY_COUNTED it reads = [QTY_COUNTED] - [PARQTY]
The box is subtracting the QTY_COUNTED from the ID # that is linking my two tables and displaying it. Its not supposed to be subtracting the QTY_COUNTED at all. It should be subtracting the PARQTY value that is displayed from the QTY_COUNTED. The PARQTY box does display the right value from the lookup table so I can't figure out why it's pulling that ID number or where from. The rest of the form / program works and we've been using it for a few years. I also created that, but like now, I had to muddle through each and every little thing I did.
I have a text box that is displaying a value from a table where the display control for the field in the table is a two row combo box. The text box on my form (I'm droping the text box on the form and manually changing the control source) is displaying the second column of the combobox where as I want the first column. If I drag the combobox from the field list onto the form it does show the expected first column (now if i change this to a text box in properties it shows the second column as well). Is there a way to change the text box to view the first column?
I'm sort of new to Access, but over the past few months I've been able to develop an inventory database for my work which turned out quite nicely and does everything I need it to, except for one thing.
I want to also create invoices for my customers, and after looking at examples I understand that most people link the "order" with the invoice, so that there is one invoice per order. However, I need the ability to combine many orders into one invoice. That's where I'm stuck.
I don't know how to arrange my relationships and forms so that I can "pick" the orders I want on my invoice, and not at the time of the Order, but at some point after. Basically my orders will be established, but their allocation to invoices won't, until I come along and put them into their rightful bill.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm pretty stumped.
I have two tables in the first table there is an outline number and the second table there is a task id (both are text strings, i.e. outline number and task id would be something like 8.15.3.1)
I want a query to return all the results in the first table that are not equal to the second table
I have tried the following but it returns all 54 records Code:SELECT DISTINCT RawData.TeamLeadNumber, RawData.Category, RawData.OutlineNumber, RawData.OutlineDescription, RawData.Start, RawData.Finish, RawData.Milestone, RawData.PercentComplete, RawData.DeliverableDesc, RawData.ReleasePeriod, RawData.OutlineNumber2, RawData.OutlineDescription2FROM RawData, SharePointDataWHERE (((RawData.OutlineNumber)<>SharePointData.TaskID));
I have tried changing the where clause to have it as Code:WHERE ((RawData.OutlineNumber)<SharePointData.TaskID) AND ((RawData.OutlineNumber)>SharePointData.TaskID);
but then no data is returned, and I know that of the 54 records 21 of them are the same so I should be seeing 33 records
I have a form with a TAB control and four pages. Each control of each page has his TAB index set correctly (starting from 0 to n), some of controls are not enabled to be tabbed. The form's cycle is set on "Current page".
I have two kind of problems.
First: I am on the last control of the page, pressing TAB key the focus gets invisible. Press TAB key again and the focus moves on the first page's control. For each page happens this behaviour.
Second: clicking randomly on the TAB pages the focus is not always on the control with TAB index 0, but usually on the last.
I have read that clicking on a new page the focus should be automatically on the first control, but this does not happen in my experience.
I'm a bit new to SQL, and have what is probably a rather simple question:
I have a query, which i want to pick up a figure from a table.
SELECT * FROM Feb_Closed WHERE Time_to_Close>'6' AND Team_Owner='Comp& Ben';
This give me a load of rows with Time to close between 6 and 9 but nothing else. The problem it is not counting everything over 9 ie i think that it is just looking at 1 digit in the table and so ignoring 10, 11, 12, 13... etc etc.
I am trying to pick out the ERAP no.s out of a whole string of data. ERAP no.s are like invoice no.s. Do I Append or Make table? How do i go about doing this? I want the ERAP no. in a row next to the the description field all next to its respective string of data too....
for an example..
1)ERAP43463 STAFF TEAM LUNCH MID-YEAR REVIEW
2) 0507 SUBMITTED ITEMIZED ACCR-ERAP43159
See.. the part where the ERAP no. appears is inconsistant.. if not i could simply use excel and use text to columns. We have thousands of lines like this every week... There has to be a way to pick out just this detail and fill in the column next to the respective datastring...
Can someone please advice me on how i can go about doing this?
So I created a search form which filters my results. Apparently I don't have enough posts to link to the source of the code though. The code is from this website, /forums/showthread.php?t=188663
I then wanted to allow users to double click a result in the listbox to take them to the form which contains details about that record, however the listbox doesn't point to the correct record.
-When nothing is specified in the search field, all records are shown in the listbox, but double clicking on the first record takes me to a form that has no information. Clicking the second record takes me to the Detail Form of the first record. -When information is put into the search field, the results are filtered and only a few display, however clicking the first result again takes me to a blank form while the second result takes me to the first record of the unfiltered list. There is no way to reach the Detail Form for the last result of the listbox. -I tried right clicking the results in the listbox and copy pasting the information. The first result gave me a "0", the second a "1", and so on and so forth. This was the same whether or not the information was filtered or not. -I tried switching to a combo box and got the same results.
I have an unbound combo box that I set up in a form using the combo box wizard in Access 2010. I selected the option that says, "Find a record on my form based on the value I selected in my combo box." The problem is that the combo box will not always display the correct record. It seems to only display the first record of a group of similarly named records in a table.
Example:
Code: Last Name First Name SSN Smith Alex 123-45-6789 Smith Jane 234-56-7891 Smith Mary 345-67-8910
If I select Smith Jane, the record for Smith Alex will display. I know that this has something to do with the bound column property, but I am unsure what to do to fix the issue.
What I have tried: I tried setting the primary key as the first field, but then I could only search by the primary key, which is unrealistic for this database. Users will be searching based on last name. How do I make the combo box select whichever record I select from the drop down list?
