Forms :: Press Enter After Password Entry To Gain Access
Aug 16, 2014
what I have is a password entry popup, it's very simple and there is only one password, so it's coded into the form.There is an unbound text box for the password, set with the password input mask.An OK button and an Exit button.The OK button has this code on the 'On Click'
Code:
Private Sub cmdOK_Click()
If IsNull(passwordentry) Then
passwordentry = "*"
End If
[code]...
Now what I want it to do is automatically move to the OK button when the correct password is entered, so that you can just hit Enter.Currently you either have to press the OK button with your mouse, or hit Enter to move to the OK button and then press Enter again to activate it.
I am trying to set up a password on a for different users to have to enter pins to enter data. When a user selects his/her name from the combo box the next field will be something like pin. When they enter the corresponding pin this will allow them to edit and start or continue (if they left) fill out the rest of this form.
The reason being this way is that if one of them goes back to a previous record done by another user (which I want them to be able to view) they can view it but cannot edit it because they do not have the users pin (or password). Is this able to be done, only allowed to edit or create a new record if you enter your pin every time.
I do not have a split db. I am prompted to enter my password when the db opens which is fine. However, when I close the db it prompts me to enter a password (not normal) and when I enter it it says invalid password. Also, when I try to change my password it says invalid password and when I try to compact and repair my db it say invalid password.
I am looking at the public function routine, that validates the password entry. I want to know how i can make a message pop up with the specific error the user has made on entry.
Public Function ValidatePwd(varPassword As Variant) As Boolean Dim blnValid As Boolean Dim blnValidCriteria As Boolean Dim intChar As Integer
I have this Access application. Now I want to see the databases and fields defined.but when I open the access file, it straight opens the access application. Then when i press Alt+F11, it opens VB Editor. Then when I click on Design mode it comes back to access in the design mode, but still does not shows the design mode for databases and reports and all.
I can remember there is one more step I need to do after getting into the design of the form.But I cannot remember that
I would like to add to the initial startup of my application a form with a password command that if you do not enter the correct password in 30 days it will terminate this application? Is that possible? Thanks matt
I have a form in which I collect approvals from two different departments. To approve an item the user selects their name from a combobox, and then tick an option box to indicate approval. The combobox is from table 'Users' and has a query as a source with the following fields, 'UserNum, First, Last, Password'. The 'approval' fields are on table 'Approvals' and are yes/no fields.
What I'd like to have happen is that the user chooses their name from the combobox and then ticks the option box for approval; when ticked I would like a messagebox to appear asking for the users password based on the name chosen in the combobox.
I have a textbox and a command button by this textbox that performs an action based on the value in this textbox when clicked.
I want to be able to press the enter key after entry into the textbox and have it perform the same thing the command button does.
I tried Calling the commndbutton procedure from the OnEnter event from of textbox, but it tries to process as soon as i "start entering data into the textbox". I hope i am clear? How do i achieve this, so that by pressing the enter key after entering a value in my textbox, my textbox value is processed, instead of clicking the command button.
This is just to enhance usability. Any help will be mucho appreciatied :D
I want to force the users to plan their work at least one day in advance. I need to know how to enter a plan date that is one day in advance. If you do planning today you can only enter a date from tomorrow onwards. Access must not allow you to enter a date earlier than tomorrow.
i have found a code that brings up a box when tab or clicking in to a box for editing as below:-
Dim strPassword As String If InputBox("Please enter the password:") <> strPassword Then SomeOtherControl.SetFocus TextBox1.Locked = True End If
its just that need to add a password as well, i have tried to put this in between the <> but this does not work. i would like a message to say incorrect password as well if possable.
When I draw an action button, it resizes to just the size of the text, and gains 50% in size below and to the right of the resized button. I can not edit this extra space, but it appears in form view. If I resize the button, the extra space appears again the moment I scroll.

I am creating a simple data entry form wherein the user will enter the product id and on change the product description and retail price must be displayed.
When the order quantity is entered, the total cost need to be calculated. I am able to do this using DLookUp and simple multiplication.
However, after doing the above, I need another row to appear so that I can accomplish the same for another product.
I created a small database with a user login form, along with a password reset form. Running it in my sandbox as an accdr file, the password value resets just fine, but on my test machine with the Access 2010 runtime installed, the password reset form doesn't reset the password. I will try to describe the state of things as of this point.
1. The LoginF presents with a combo box for the user to choose their name, and a text box to enter their password. The code below is on the After Update of the password text box.
Code: Private Sub txtPassword_AfterUpdate() 'Check if user has been chosen If IsNull(Me.cboUser) Then MsgBox "Please Select User Initials", vbInformation, "Warning"
[Code] ....
2. The password reset form has two text boxes for the new password and to re-enter the same, as well as a command button with this code.
Code: Private Sub cmdResetPassword_Click() If Me.Password = Me.PasswordTest And Len(Me.Password) & "" > 0 Then DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSaveRecord DoCmd.Close DoCmd.OpenForm "LoginF"
[Code] ....
As I say, this works as an accdr file, but not in the actual runtime environment.
I want to stop duplicate entries from being entered on form. I have read through the thread , however I am totally confused as it seemed to be v high level complex queries. I am looking at:
Preventing duplicate entries to be entered
It should show an error "Saying entry already exists" Do you want to check,edit or add new...
I am working on creating an access database for tracking physical assets linked to locations. I need to make a combo box list to show items other than the current location of the asset. Basically I need it to refer to last enery of the user and define the new possible entries. so we have a unique relationship between location and asset. The assets and location will always remain fixed and there is never going to be any addition. I am creating a web form so that it can be uploaded into sharepoint.
I have following Fields. Allocation ID(PK), HW ID, User ID, HW Status, Assigned Date.
Values of HW Status = Active, Inactive, Decom, In Stock etc.
What I want is explaind below example
HW XXX is allocated to User ABC and the Status is Active.
Now When I want to reallocate the same HW XXX to Another User XYZ then Make the current status as Active. But before doing that the form should force me to change the Status of previous allocated to user ABC to anything other than active. Because One Device can be active to only one user at a time.
i,e Combination of HW ID & HW Status(Active Only) should not be duplicated.
I have a data entry form to add new records to an Access database file called Claims. An auto-incrementing sequence number (SeqNbr) needs to be kept PER YEAR. If the user enters a date the sequence number pertaining to the year of this date needs to be incremented. The first record within a new year of course takes value 1.Records can be added at random for different years.
A simple SQL-statement can be made to determine the new sequence number:SELECT max(Claims.SeqNbr) + 1 from Claims where year(this.value) = year(Claims.EventDate)...this.value meaning the value of the date control in which the user entered the date.I need to return the new sequence number to another field on the form in which also the COMPANY CODE, YYYY and MM from the EventDate, the new sequence number and the USER INITIALS are concatenated.
I have access 2010, I currently have a database in place and operational. What I am wondering is there a way to have a form come up whenever someone opens access and asks for a password and login name. Also I would like to have a 2 tier system. One for Admins and the other for users with limited access.
Hi! This is Kishore, working on VB Project which is using MS-Access95 as backend. Now, i want to change the Database login Password. Could anyone guide me in this context.
Hi, I've read a few posts regarding removing the facility of the F11, open Db window, but is there a way to capture if someone presses F11? I have a few people (users) who think they know a thing or two about Access and I'd like to know if/ when they're accessing the Db window.
I was hoping for the ASCI code or similar for the F11 key!? Thanks Matt
