I have over 100 queries of weather data, for each month, and would like to display certain or filtered information for a selected month.
I have been playing around with a combo box to select a month from a given year, and was hoping that maybe an 'After Update' would do what I want. The problem I have is that I don't know how to do this, as the month picked and displayed in the combo box is variable , and so a sort of wildcard might do the job, if I knew how.
I have a form that produces a datasheet that derives its information from a query. The query works fine giving the desired information.
In this datasheet on "PurchaseOrderID" i have a On Dbl Click event that states this.
Private Sub PurchaseOrderID_DblClick(Cancel As Integer) Dim stDocName As String Dim stLinkCriteria As String stDocName = "FrmPO_Received" stLinkCriteria = "[ItemID]=" & Me.ItemID DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , stLinkCriteria End Sub
Now it works sometimes, but sometimes it pulls up a different "PurchaseOrderID". Is there a way to fix this. I thought maybe there would be a way to put two criteria, "ItemID" and "PurchaseOrderID".
I have a main form (frmMain) and a sub form (frmChild), set as datasheet. The first field in the datasheet is set as a hyperlink and opens another form correctly. What I would like is if the user selects a record on frmChild, then a textbox on frmMain is populated by the corresponding value in the second column of the datasheet. Is it possible to do this via vba, and if so, how? I've read about solutions by using continous forms, but I'd like to stay with datasheet format if possible.
I have a table that is linked into access 2003. This table is updated by personnel in another location and I have to run a weekly report on engines that are below a certain performance level.
The column heading is MGT Margin and I have to list all of the engines that are below 20 degrees.
Can I run a query that looks at this table and produces a report of all the engines that are below 20 degrees?
I currently have to cut and paste each engine from the updated spread sheet every week onto a separate spread sheet and import that into access. If a query can be used to do what I am after I can use similar principles in other reports I have to run.
I need code for save dialog file ,and select the file from textbox and save it to the selected location.i have only this code and i dont know what else i can do with this because it just opens the save file dialog !
I have a suppliers table and a products table. Two forms, Stock form with combobox to list Suppliers and a sub form with combobox that lists Products.I want to select a supplier from the Stock form and then the combobox in the subform to only list products directly sold by the Supplier.Have dabbled in SQL as follows:
SELECT Products.ProductID, Products.ProductName FROM Suppliers INNER JOIN Products ON Suppliers.SupplierID = Products.SupplierID WHERE ((Stocksubform.SupplierID=Stock.SupplierID)) ORDER BY Products.ProductName;
What is the best way to impliment a query in a form so that the user can view the query records, and have the option to print or save the selected record using command buttons?
I tried subforms but I could not get the command buttons to work in the subform after it went into the form, it wanted to print the entire form instead of the selected record from the subform.
So in a nutshell I have 3-4 queries that are built, and I want to have them show up on my form in a format that the user can scroll through the results and select a single record of the results and then print or save that individual record from the form, if such a thing is possible.
How can I automate different printers for different reports on the same MS Access 2007 database, without having to select the printer each time?
There are two reports that are printed on the same database. Previously, I had automated form buttons to print the reports, without having to select the printer each time. This was about 8 years ago, but I don't remember how I did this. Also, I don't know SQL. Nothing against code, but I did not know how to program, and just MS Access 2007 access itself.
So, it just converts it to ASCII; however, when I go to scan it, it actually reads that information also. I need the 1E, 1D, and 04 to actually be scanned as HEX for the validation to occur for our client.
Is it possible using an Access query to return these desired results? If not, I will have to look atother piece of software to produce the bar code labels.
I would like to build a query that has a calculated field, involving value from a previous record. I have five columns, Year (sorted ascending), InvestmentRate, StartingBalance, AnnualContribution, and InterestIncome.
The first row, being the smallest year value, uses a previously defined elsewhere starting balance, annual contribution, and interest income. This is recognized via an Iif statement and establishing the first set of values which the second row should use to calculate.
The second record, and until the end of the query, automatically calculates the new starting balance value based on the sum previous row record's starting balance, annual contribution, and interest income.
Furthermore, for the second record, and untill the end of the query, the InterestIncome is calculated value incorporating the second row's StartingBalance value (which is the product of the sum of the previous record's values).
This calculated referencing to the previous record is causing difficulties.
I have a form that request information from the user (StartDate, StartTime, EndDate and EndTime) the problem is that it's not working. The only way I can get any data to show is when I remove the StartTime and EndTime. Only then will it pull the items from the StartDate and EndDate.
Here is what I have as my criteria: Between [Forms]![OpPROD_ALL]![StartTime] And [Forms]![ OpPROD_ALL]![EndTime] And Between [Forms]![ OpPROD_ALL]![StartDate] And [Forms]![ OpPROD_ALL]![EndDate]
The users will be able to request a report based on a start and end date along with a start time and end time.
Side note: this is to pull date for 3rd shift (Example) 4/14/2013 10:00PM - 4/15/2013 10PM
I have a totals query that shows results in a chart. It takes a parameter to limit results, by a combobox in a form.
Parameter in the query includes the OR "*" expression, in case someone wants to get the results unfiltered.
The Combobox in the form, has an AfteUpdate event that opens the chart (form) every time its value changes, by the [DoCmd.OpenForm "ChartForm" , acNormal] expression.
I don't know how to make it open the ChartForm when no parameter is selected in the combobox.
What I want to do is... open a file dialog from VBA "This of cause is no problem" the file dialog is opened from a double click function of a textbox holding a link to a picture, what i want to happen is... when the explorer opens I want it to show only the picture that was linked in the textbox.
Example "C:markPhotosPicture 085.jpg"
the code i have so far is as follows...
Private Sub FilePathLbl_DblClick(Cancel As Integer)
Dim fFile As String Dim fd As Office.FileDialog Dim retVal As Variant Set fd = Application.FileDialog(MsoFileDialogType.msoFileDialogFilePicker)
[Code] ....
It opens in the correct folder but it shows all the pictures in that folder.
the databases functionally normally with no issue. I have several databases one for each project and they are all having this issue. It doubles the size of the DB after the failure. This seems to tell me that the crash is just after the DB is ready to rewrite the database compacted. I run C&R about every 2 weeks and have a spread sheet tracking DB size prior to and after C&R. The compactions run from about 1% to 15% the norm seams to be 4% to 6%. The size of the DBs run from 65KB to 100KB.
My computer has been updated to 2010 whilst I've been off sick (was 2003 before my accident).
I've created a main table, for devises across the company, and a combo box/selection box based on another table which holds a list of all the "Responsible" employee's aswell as another combo box/selection box for the device location.
So the person entering the information, can enter all the information for a device (torq wrench, socket set etc), who is responsible for it and which department they belong to (where to find the device).
Which all works fine
However, I'd like to create 2 queries, one to enable the user to run a report of all device's allocated with an employee or to be able to run a query for all device's stored in a particular department.
But I have been unable to set the correct query criteria, to enable to query user to be able to selection from a drop down list, which responsible person or location to pull back the correct list.
I was getting an error asking me to set the parenthesis, I have now deleted criteria for both queries, as even if I put [Enter] and type a Responsible person's name exactly as its held on the table, the report comes back blank.
I have a data entry form to add new records to an Access database file called Claims. An auto-incrementing sequence number (SeqNbr) needs to be kept PER YEAR. If the user enters a date the sequence number pertaining to the year of this date needs to be incremented. The first record within a new year of course takes value 1.Records can be added at random for different years.
A simple SQL-statement can be made to determine the new sequence number:SELECT max(Claims.SeqNbr) + 1 from Claims where year(this.value) = year(Claims.EventDate)...this.value meaning the value of the date control in which the user entered the date.I need to return the new sequence number to another field on the form in which also the COMPANY CODE, YYYY and MM from the EventDate, the new sequence number and the USER INITIALS are concatenated.
I have a text file linked to this database, and I'm trying to create a Query that will pull all of the data out of this text file, and add a rank if two of the values match in multipe records. So in other words, when multiple records have the same [JOBNBR] , I want to evaluate the [TIMESTAMP] value to see if it is the smallest one, and so on.I don't want to create multiple queries to do this, is there any way to do this? Here's what I have:
Code: DDR: (Select count(*) from tblMyDataImport Where [tblMyDataImport].[TIMESTAMP] < [TIMESTAMP] AND [tblMyDataImport].[JOBNBR]=[JOBNBR] )
I need to create a query that will take the results of another query and produce data. The first query shows a bar chart of items showing downtime. The new query needs to take the item with the most downtime and produce a report that shows the reasons for that downtime. The downtime changes all the time so I need to be able to show different results each time. Can anyone help with this?
Hi folks, I have a query that returns about 3500 records (and runs very well I have to say). the issue comes when I attempt to export that queries results to a comma seperated text file. It gives me the message that the field is too small to accept the amount of data..bla bla bla... I've looked this up and it mentions stuff about memo fields and issues with that, but I don't have any memo fields in any of the tables that this is pulling information from. Does anyone have a clue why this would be happening...please help..this is urgent.
This may not even be possible, but I am looking to create a Query that can locate records in an Access Table based on 2 columns of data that I have stored in a CSV file.
My table contains several fields, 2 of which are "Dept" and "SKU" and has over a million records.
My CSV file contains 3 fields: "Dept", "SKU" and "Total" - total being the number of times that particular Dept/SKU combination is used.
I need to be able to parse the dept/sku values from each row in the CSV to the query and locate only the records that contain the same values in the Access table.
The plan being to delete out those that are identified by the query.
I have a graph chart and my row source type is a Query. So I retrieved data from the Query that I built.
However , I want to get the data from the uploaded excel file.
I have a form that will prompt user in the beginning to upload the excel file and replaced the old table in Access- "CrossSystemData"
Basically , I want to pull data from Excel file , Run the query(Data from excel file) then excute to "display a chart based on my query" ... Is it possible ?
Query SQL: "PolyWrongRegInsCount"
Code: SELECT GROUPING.INSTITUTION, Count(*) AS NO_OF_GROUP FROM (SELECT DISTINCT CATEGORY, GROUP_NO, INSTITUTION, IIF(Left(INSTITUTION,1)="P","POLYCLINIC","HOSPITAL") AS INS_TYPE FROM CrossSystemData WHERE INSTITUTION NOT LIKE "*UNKNOWN*") AS GROUPING WHERE (((GROUPING.CATEGORY)="WRONG REG") AND ((GROUPING.INS_TYPE)="POLYCLINIC")) GROUP BY GROUPING.INSTITUTION;
My Chart SQL :
Code: SELECT PolyWrongRegInsCount.[INSTITUTION], PolyWrongRegInsCount.[NO_OF_GROUP] FROM PolyWrongRegInsCount;
I often create contract using mail merge. I have an access file that I want to use as data source for word file. But it does not automatically.
Please download the attached file !
If there are 1 customer and 1 property, I do not need to do anything. Conversely, if there are many customers and many properties, I take time to manipulate.
Firstly, I open the word file. I have to copy and paste paragraphs that I want. Highlight of the original paragraphs is blue.
Secondly, I click 'Insert Word Field' -> select 'Next Record'.
In short, I wish to use VBA in access file to automatically perform the steps that I have outlined.
I'm working with Access 2010 and am trying to use the transferspreadsheet command to output data in a query to an Excel 2010 format file. Here is the line of code:
It works fine and produces the output file but when I try and open it with Excel I get an error saying the format is incorrect. If I change the extension to .xls it opens with no problem but I need it to be an Excel 2010 format with correct extension.
In a form, I am using two comboboxes per record (i.e. when you add a new record, two more comboboxes for that record appear).
My goal is to have the second combobox show entries specific to what the first combobox was, with certain caveats (see below).
My current approach is using three tables - tblTypes, tblOptions, and tblEntries. tblTypes would store the different types of entries. Each of the types in tblTypes would contain options depending on its ID.
Basically, the first combobox will list the data in tblEntries and the second combobox will list the data in tblOptions, depending on what "Entry" was selected. New "Entry's" for the first combobox would be created in tblEntries, where the ID in this table would indicate what "Options" are available for that entry. As shown in the sample table below, I want to allow more than one entry with the same "ID" (i.e. there could be more than one entry with the same options, but the entry name would be different.)
A sample of what the tables would look like is below:
tblTypes --------- ID |Type 1 TypeA 2 TypeB 3 TypeC
Is this approach sound? If so, how would I create the comboboxes to use with this set of data? I tried doing so but ran into a certain problem - that is, the first combobox doesn't allow you to "select" entries with the same ID - it lets you select the first one, but no other... (using a query that simply selects all of the entries and its associated ID - I used the ID to populate the second textbox appropriately.
If this approach sounds unreasonable, how would you approach it? And after creating the tables, how would you go about setting up the combo boxes?
Departments (DepartmentName as prime key), Employees (EmployeeCode as prime key, as prime key field can't have duplicates as it occuring in case of EmployeeName), ErrorReference (ErrorCode as prime key) and ErrorCategory
I built onemore table "Performance", in which 'workOrderRef, Date, Cost and WorkOrderPic' are local fields and rest of fields (departmentName, EmployeeCode, EmployeeName, ErrorCode, ErrorRef) are linked to different database to prop up data while data entry.
Also did relations between these tables in order to facilitate cascading effect of modification in respective database bases.
Now the question is - in input database file i.e. "Performance", - when i prop up "CAD" department, i should get employees in CAD department and in turn employee code.
similarly
- when i prop up any Error rerefernce, it should automatically prop up corresponding ErrorCode
