When i am clicking on refresh button the query which is generated by drop downs is not updating in the form, but it was updating in the query table. How can i refresh the query on the form where drop downs are..my code is
forms![Opening]![RepQuery].Requery
where Opening is my form name, repquery is the query which i generated in form.
Using Access 2013.I have a Search Form with a Run Query button. I would like to add a button that clears the criteria entered into the search text boxes. Right now to change the criteria I have to manually delete everything entered, closed the current query it had open then go from there. I have tried using the command button wizard, form operations, then refresh form data. When I click that button a window pops up "The command or action 'refresh' isnt available right now".Is this not the correct way to set up what I need? What other options should I look into for setting this up?
Form 1 - Data entry for a new project Form 2 - Data entry for a task associated with the project in the Form 1
Button on form 1 that opens Form 2.
What I am trying to do:
Use a combobox on Form Two to choose the Project entered into Form 1, so I can capture the Form1 PK as a FK on Form 2.
Here is the problem:
Refreshing the record on the button click so that the new option entered into Form 1 shows up in the combo box on Form 2.
Full disclosure: I'm not much good at VBA so I have been trying to do this by customizing the button macro. I have tried Refresh, and Requery, but I can't seem to get it to update the list in the combo box.
2 questions:
1. How can I get this accomplished? 2. Is there a better way to get this data into the table than what I am trying to do?
I added several records in another table but it wont show the records until I press the Refresh button at the ribbon of Home-> Refresh. How can i view the records automatically without pressing the Refresh button?
I have created 3 forms, 1 of which will update the sum of 5 text boxes immediately after numbers are entered in, while on the other 2 forms I had to create a refresh button so that the numbers will add up. The properties in all of the forms and the text boxes seem to be the exact same.
I have two command buttons in a subform "sbfScoutRegDetails", one that launches a report and the other attaches the report pdf to an email, associated with the record ID when clicked.
Both of these buttons work fine when just the subform itself is open, but when viewing it in its main form, I get a window saying 'enter parameter value' for "Forms!sbfScoutRegDetails!ID" (this is the WHERE condition in the macro).The report then opens with all the record information blank.The full WHERE condition
Code:
[ID]=[Forms]![sbfScoutRegDetails]![ID]
Not sure if it's because of using a continuous form as a subform? I need the user to be able to view/print or email a contract to each group/contact that signs up.
I made a menu using option buttons and it works well except for one thing: After I return from a form or report to the menu, the option button has not cleared. I added a refresh button that works, but the clearing of the option button should be automatic. How can this be done?
hi, i have a search form, and when you double click on the record, it opens that record in my main form (which opens filtered)
this is fine because it displays the record that i want to see
however, when i try to perform other tasks on my main form, such as choosing the id from a combo box and finding that record, it wont work because the form is still filtered, one way to get around this is to open and close the form, but is there a way that i can implement something into my refresh button that removes a form filter.
Private Sub Refresh_Page_Click() On Error GoTo Err_Refresh_Page_Click
The above code works and my issue is how can I move the mouse to the OK button and click on it to. The reason why is when I SETTEXT to the address bar it does not refresh so I SETTEXT to the file name box to navigate to the prescribe address which will refresh the navigation bar once the OK button is clicked. How to refreshing the navigation bar.
I have an Access 2010 database with two tables and two forms. The tables are Organizations and People. Similarly, the forms are Organizations Entry Form and PeopleEntryForm. The People are linked to the Organizations table. Several people can be linked to the same organization.On my Organizations EntryForm, I created a command button to duplicate a record using the wizard. It works fine.
I did exactly the same thing on the PeopleEntryForm, but instead of copying the record, it creates a new blank record. I don't get any error messages. Is my problem due to the fact that the People table is linked to the Organizations table?
I have a form with a text field and a command button. My code works for the password part but it is not checking for the 3 times and exit code. I'm not real up oon coding and not sure what Im missing Any help would be appreciated:
Private Sub cmdLogin_Click()
If txtPassword = "Test" Then DoCmd.RunMacro "Mac_man_main" Else: MsgBox ("Please Renter Correct Password"), vbOKOnly, "Error!", 0, 0 Exit Sub End If
'If User Enters incorrect password 3 times database will shutdown
intLogonAttempts = intLogonAttempts + 1 If intLogonAttempts > 3 Then MsgBox "You do not have access to this database. Please contact your system administrator.", vbCritical, "Restricted Access!" Application.Quit End If
I was trying to incorporate the changes suggested by a member of this forum into my Form. I opened the Form in Design View. I clicked the Command Button and placed the mouse at the insertion point. The command button also appeared. Thereafter, nothing happened. Earlier, whenever I placed a command button, it asked for action to be performed in relation to that command button. But now nothing happens and I don't know what to do. Please tell me how I can bring back the feature. Thanks.
I just created my very first db... I used the wizzard to create it most of it, including command buttons that permit you to move from the one form to another form/report. I saved the db to a shared drive (two people total accessing/updating it) only to find that the command buttons don't work for her. I created the db in 2003, but she has 2007. If I upgrade to 2007 and convert the db, could this solve the problem? THANKS!!
I have a form which contains one subform. On the subform I have a command button which saves the record just entered. On the main form I have a "refresh form data" button which updates the main form so that the calculated controls can show the correct results based on the data just entered?
Can anyone tell me how I can get the "save record" button in the subform to subsequently refresh the data in the main form as well, thus saving a button???
I have a cancel button on an add new record form and its not working for some reason. When I press cancel it prompts if I really want to cancel and when I press yes it cancels the record creation BUT it adds a number to the recordID autonumber as if one has been created. Is there anyway to stop this? Here is my code
Option Compare Database Private Sub Cancel_Click() On Error GoTo Err_Cancel_Click If Me.Dirty = True Then
I have created an accdb file and saved as an accde file. The accde file opens with a form with command buttons. But the commands buttons do not work with the accde file (they do work with the accdb file). How do I get them working.
I have an Access 2007 database which has a form on which is a button to dial the currently selected phone number. All works fine. My intention is to send out partial databases to people not having access installed and they will use the access runtime module.
When the same database is run using the runtime it does not dial and does not give an error message. It just stays the same as though I didn't press the dial button.
I have a graph on my form, an Update/Refresh button, and a textbox that display a calculted value.
The textboxes controlsource is "=GetMyValue()"
Now when I click the Update button on the form, I would like to have the graph to refresh first, and then the textbox should update its value by running the GetMyValue function. But it works the other way around.
I've even tried to reset and set the textbox controlsource in the click event but it still get's preference above the refresh of the graph.
I have a form which has a field named VendorID it gets data from the following query
SELECT TOP 2 V.VendorID, V.VendorName, COUNT(A.ClaimNumber) AS Total_assignment, V.VendorStatus FROM dbo.VendorMaster V LEFT OUTER JOIN dbo.VendorAssignment A ON V.VendorID = A.VendorID GROUP BY V.VendorID, V.VendorName, V.VendorStatus HAVING (V.VendorStatus = N'Active') ORDER BY COUNT(A.ClaimNumber)
So, if we look at the code it should give me top 2 by ascending , but whats happening here is once i refresh it gives me top 2 and it stays the same until and unless i go to view mode and come back to the form mode( refresh) again. automatic code or something which can make this one update automatically?
I have combo box that lists data from another form (frmCity) . If the required data in not in the list then frmCity is opened, a new record is entered and form closed. The combo box in the first form (which has remained open) does not show the new entry unless it is closed and re-opened. How can I get the new record to show without closing and reopening?
I have forms that show commitments by Client, by Cost Centre, by Provider etc.
If I add new commitments or edit commitments it is done through the Commitments by Client form, as all other forms lead back to this one.
To create a new or edit an existing commitment, it is done through a Commitment Form, which goes into a query (query A)which does all the calculations. My client form has subforms based on Query A, however my other forms (commitments by Cost Centre etc) have subforms which have querys that are based on Query A . I hope that made sense.
My problem is that If I edit a commitment, the client form and subforms refrlect the changes imediately, even though they are open and I can see them changing when I change the commitments. However the other ones don't unless I close them and re-open them.
My navigation within the database is based on once a form has been opened it is set to be invisible untill called on again (i.e. visible = False).
How to requery all the forms without having to close them.
ContextObject .FileName = strPrefix & .StockNumber If .Dirty Then .Dirty = False End If ' .Refresh End With
Stepping through with the debugger, the ".Dirty=False" statement is executed, but the screen does not refresh. If I comment out the "If .Dirty ..." block and comment in the ".Refresh", then the screen does refresh with the new value - but of course that needlessly refreshes all the other records on the form.
In the database I have a main form with subform "frmitinerer" . Using a button on the main form open form "frmrelation." After entering the new daily haul and closing forms refresh the data in the subform "frmitinerer."Code on the button is on click event
