I have a field in the table that contains numbers and a mix of upper and lower case words.
I would like to have this to it check for numbers and then makes the first letter in a word upper case and the remainder lower case.
I know you can do it like this >L<????????? but that dow not work if the word lengths are different. Unless I am missing soemthing.
Example of text in field is this:
100 RCSCC MAJOR PAIN
I would like the RCSCC to remain in UPPERCASE and then move to the next work and change the first letter to UPPER CASE and the remaining letters lower case then repeat this on the next word if there is one in the field.
Thanks for all your help.

I supply data to our customer for their system, a single table listing 1.9 millon records. 1 of the 7 fields is unique but the rest in the table can contain duplicated data.
My problem is caplial letters vs lower case.
How can I query my table to find just the mixed and lower case versions of for example "BIRMINGHAM" ie "birmingham" or "Birmingham". My customers system is rejecting the Data due to some lower case entries.
:confused:Any help appricated

I need to convert an entire table to lower case..
The table happens to only have one column in it, so each record only has one field..
How do I convert the entire thing to lower case?
I can not just convert the display info to lower case, this table is used as a cross-reference data table and I need to physically convert all the data in the entire table to lower case.
Oh, and I need this to be a macro of some sort, since the data is re-imported on a regular basis, and will re-convert to upper case on the import.
Thanks,
Bill

such as... e1,e3,e5,n1,n11
i need to make all the postcode letters capital like this E4,E5,N12...

I have a database containing a mixture of upper and lower case input. I can make upper case appear on the screen by using > in the format box in the property section for each field. This works great but the same old uncorrected stuff remains on the database. How can I get the database to store the corrected upper case data after I have entered it in lower case?

ok here is what i want.. imagine a search box, just an empty text box that allows the user to type things into it...
there will be a simple table from the database behind it, here is the typical structure of a record
<Country>Poland
<Price1>60
<Price2>85
<Price3>95
in this table there will be say a 1000 of these records...
my user is going to have to quickly search through these records while on the phone to a customer, and quote one of the relevant prices associated with that country
what i would like is this most convenient system..
as the user types in the letter 'P' just below all the records with countries that begin with 'P' are displayed (with a scroll down arrow if needed)..as well as the 3 relevant prices with that record
if they then type an 'O' into the box (which will now hold 'Po') all the records with countries beginin with 'Po' will be displayed (eg Poland)
if they delete the 'o'. once again the displayed records below the box will return to just the countries begginin with 'p'
all that is needed is for the records to be displayed, thats it.. but the adding and deleting of the letters within the text search box will need to instantly manipulate this list..
i have posted on other forums, and have been told this can be acheived in access, is it hard?

I am creating a database of bird banding and breeding records for the refuge where I currently intern. To do this, I have created the following tables:
Adult Banding Records
Nestling Banding Records
Historical Banding Records
The specific issue:
I have already created forms for entering data into these tables, but now I would like to create a "search" form that will use the primary key (which is always the band number of the individual bird, across all tables) to search ALL the tables and pull up all the information on that record. This will be convenient when we recapture a bird that is already banded, so we can look up their information in our database. Also, since I plan to add many more tables, it would be nice to not have to search each table individually.

The database is to track and evaluate call center associate phone calls. I created yes/no fields for multiple common errors (accurate/complete, Security, and client experience. and under each are @ 20 common errors)
(the problem is that I did not create a seperate table for each main category which I think might have made things easier)
Now what I am trying to do is create a report that allows me to show (or select) an error and have it show all the associates that had that error in a given time frame.
I already have a report to show all associates and all the errors that each had in a certain time frame. (so vertically I have associate detail and horizontal I have error detail).
is there a way, without creating 25 separate reports, to show all associates under an error type?

I'm new to programming with Access but am attempting to create a new field in a table with an new date based on existing fields in the table.
The current fields are [Frequency], integer, [Risk], text, [Last Audit Date], date/time, and the new field is [Next Audit Date]. [Frequency] is a calculated field based only on [Risk] and is equal to "5" if [Risk] is "Low" and is "3" is [Risk] is "Medium" or "High", and [Frequency] is blank if [Risk] is (thus far it has never been empty).
What I need the new calculated field to do is return "N/A" (or blank, or anything easily separated really) if [Frequency] is blank, or if [Risk] is "Low" or "Medium". If [Risk] is "High", [Next Audit Date] should be equal to [Last Audit Date] plus 3 years. When I try to save the code, I get this message: "The expression could not be saved because its result type, such as binary or NULL, is not supported by the server."
This is my code now:
IIf(IsNull([Frequency]),"",IIf([Risk]="Low","N/A",IIf([Risk]="Medium","N/A",IIf([Last Audit Date]="N/A","N/A",[Last Audit Date]+Year(3)))))

I have 3 tables:
tblMain
BalanceID PK
GasID FK
ElecID FK
tblGas
GasID FK? not sure
BalanceID
tblElectric
ElecID FK? not sure
BalanceID
I created 1 query from all 3 tables, then created the form from that 1 query.Now when I enter data into the form and click to save it , it produces this error message:The Microsoft Database Engine cannot find a record in the tblGas with key matching fields 'tblMain_GasID.The tblGas does contain a field GasID, but does it mean that the field should be tblMain_GasID

I have a search form that's slightly modified search form modeled after the one available here on this site. It's a main form with a list box. I use the listbox to narrow down the results I want from the search function.
The search details are shown in a sub form that contains sub-sub forms
As seen in the code below, I am using the listbox to set a filter on the subform . Works famously until I search for something that does not exist in the database. I then receive runtime error 3075.
I believe it's related to the way I'm showing the details in the subform (by enabling a filter). If there is no record in the database that match the search criteria, I don't want any error messages or pop-ups and preferably would like the listbox to be blank.
Attached a screenshot of my form.
red = main form
green = subform
blue = sub-subforms
tan = obscuring the search results
Code:
Private Sub SearchFor_Change()
Dim vSearchString As String
vSearchString = SearchFor.Tex
SrchText.Value = vSearchString
Me.SearchResults.Requery
[Code] .....

I am trying to get a button on my form to open two reports, and also go to a website. Once at the website I want it to type in a search bar based off of the criteria of the two reports. I currently have it able to open both reports correctly, and I can get the website to open, but I am not able to find a way to get access to type anything once on the website.
I am opening the website using:
Application.FollowHyperlink _
"enterwebsite"

Hello,
I need to create a query that will seach through a column and only return a result with product codes starting with A.
An example of a product code is AA0000034567.... however there is no realy consistancy. Some start with the AA and some don't. Some have 5 zeros before the numbers start others may only have 1, 2, 3, or 4 zeros before the number.... There are approx 76,000 product codes in total.
My end goal is to create a query to find all the records that have a product code starting with A so that I can eventually delete the AA00000 portion of the code and strip the number back to the point where the 34567 starts.
I figured that by separating out the product codes that start with AA would be a good start.
If any one has any suggestions please let me know.

I have a form that when initially displayed shows all client records in my database with the ability to add new ones through a "Add New" command button. I have another command button called "Search" that displays a second form containing a dozen or so fields to search and filter down on.
When the Search button is pressed, I display search form and enter data in some of the fields for searching. I then click ok and the main form should now display a subset of the records based on the data I entered on the search form.
My dilemma is that the WhereCondition of the docmd.OpenForm doesn't work. The doccmd works to open the form when I don't include the WhereCondition, but the moment I put the WhereCondition in, I get an unknown runtime error (3000).
Here's the code. I've stripped out most of the search fields to target just the one until I can get it working, then I'll add the others back in.
Private Sub cmdSearch_Click()
Dim varWhere As Variant
' Initialize the search string to Null
varWhere = Null
If Not IsNothing(Me.srchLastName) Then
varWhere = "([p_last_nam] LIKE '" & Me.srchLastName & "*')"
[Code] ....

Hello
I want to create a single search field inwhich the user can search data within two different tables. So for example in both tables there is a field called Container Number. When they type in the number into the search field i want a query to search both tables and return if it is in table one or table two.
I hope this make sense!
