Then I created a form named MAINF with FLOWER_SHIPPING as its RecordSource. The form only has one TextBox: Date.
Then in MAINF, I created a subform named SUBF with FLOWER_SHIPPING as its RecordSource, in Datasheet View. It shows all fields in FLoWER_SHIPPING as it is.
The link between MAINF and SUBF is Date.
I want SUBF to only show record based on the Date chosen in Date TextBox in MAINF. So far, yes it did what I want. But with problems:
1) [SOLVED] SUBF does show record based on the Date I've chosen in MAINF's TextBox Date, but it ALWAYS ALSO shows the first record on the FLOWER_SHIPPING table. And the date in the first record always changed into the Date I just input in the TextBox Date in the MAINF. Automatically.
Example: I chose 6/22/2013, and there are 2 records with that date. the SUBF will show 3 records: those 2 records + the first row of FLOWER_SHIPPING with its Date automatically set to 6/22/2013.
2) When I chose a date in MAINF, I have to click everywhere in the SUBF so that it will refresh its content. Can I have it refresh automatically everytime after a date chosen?
I am a bit of a novice when it comes to Access, but have managed to create a form with a subform embedded and various filters to show different data within the subform, including a date range filter. The code I have used for these filters is as follows:
Private Sub Command40_Click() Dim strCriteria As String
This all works fine, but I'm wondering what I need to add to this code to make it so that if the date boxes are left blank, records from all dates are displayed. At the moment I have to enter dates in order for it to work properly.
I have got this form, consisting of 1 form (that needs to add a new record to a table everytime) and 1 subform, that needs to show the last three records of the table.
My problem is that I cannot get it right, now both forms (form and subform) are showing the details on just one record. If I open my subform it shows me all the records of a table, but in as soon as I view the form as a subform I shows me only one record.
Any help is welcome, I attached my db, just in case....
It's been a while since I last used Access but now I need to be reminded how to populate a sub-form with all rows for a query (Access 2013).
- Do I need to establish a relationship between Table A (main form) and Table B (sub-form)? - What sub-form properties need to be set to display all retrieived rows from the main form query (select where Table A PK = Table B PK)?
I have a form which shows training events - these can take place over one or several days, and can be run by one trainer or several, so I have my basic Events Info in one table (EventID, EventType, Location, that kind of thing) and the 'Jobs' in a separate table (EventID, JobDate, TrainerID, etc)
The problem I'm having is that I want the List of Events to be sorted in order of their start date... which is on the subform, not the main form.
How can I go about it - and still leave both the main and subforms fully editable?
i have a subform name(SUBSAL)in this subform i get reocrds for some employee as select combobox Name(CMBEMP).some employee having 2 record or some having 6 record as their transaction
i have sum of transaction at subform footer field but when only 2 records shows in subform it shows a major gap or blank space in subform detail section.
In my database main form with subform. subform have query as recordsource.total of one of field in subform shown on main form. all is ok and show total correctly but when subform have no records then total field on main form shows #error. How to convert this value either into null string or zero(0).
I have set up a form and only want to display the date and time that will appear automatically based on when the record was created. I definitely don't know how to do this.
The format that I'm looking for is: 07/24/13 11:45:44pm
From what I can see I would need two separate fields to accomplish this. I would prefer to only use one if possible. I would like to execute the value within the new record as it is entered. That date and time from that point should never change.
I will want to use the date and time in the future for quality control.
I have a subform that is filtered by a textbox on the main form. Is there any way I can add a timestamp to a record on the subform when a user changes anything on that record?
I've tried the Macro that is listed on Microsoft's website regarding timestamps, but I had serious issues implementing that to a subform.
I have several subform tabs and one that I have updated no longer shows up when I run the form on Form mode. The tab is there but no content or details of the subform
I have 2 cascading combo boxes which control what appears in my subform (AuditYear,Company).
Once I select both, sometimes the subform info shows up and a while later I try again, and it doesn't. Then I try some other AuditYear + Company, then THAT shows up...then I try again, it doesn't.
I have two unbound unlinked subforms residing on a 3rd unbound main form. When I enter the current record on Subform1 I would like the matching record(s) on Subform2 to be highlighted or otherwise formatted. I can get this to work for only the first record on subform2 due to the way I have my code setup on Subform1:
Code: Private Sub Accounting_Unit_Enter() 'find where AUs match. only works for first Subform2 record If Me.[Accounting Unit] = Forms!MainForm.[Subform2]!AccountingUnit Then msgbox "Match" End If End Sub
My thought was that I needed to reference the Recordset of Subform2 and search for all AccountingUnits that match the current AccountingUnit of Subform1,
I have a textbox on a Subform which is updated when a record is double clicked in another Subform. This works fine until i move the mouse over the updated subform. Then the updated entry is replaced with #Deleted. The data is still in the table that gives the subform its value. Also another form running has the same subform and it and the updated value is shown perfectly in this one. Anyone know why this may be happening?
It's my understanding of general database practice that an Autonumber field should be used as a primary key in normalisation tables. I realise my understanding could be wrong, and I'm quite happy to change that practice if need be.
I have my normalisation tables. For the most part these consist of an Autonumber field ([UID]) as the primary key, then an indexed, no duplicates text field with the normalisation data. For this case, we'll say it's a list of departments ([DepartmentID]).
I have a form for entering users. Again, the PK is an autonumber field. I used a wizard to create a combo box. I selected the fact that I want to store the value in [DepartmentID], NOT [UID].
This works fine, I can add my users and the combo boxes work, although I had to change the bound column to 2, as 1 is selected by default although it is [UID].
I then created a subform based on a query of all users. This subform is not bound to the main form in any way, it simply shows the result of the query.
When entering users, upon saving a record, the form is updated and the new user shown in the subform. Great, apart from "txtDepartment" in the subform showing [UID], and not [DepartmentID] as stipulated.
I have a horrible feeling this is to do with [UID] being my PK, but I'd like someone to tell me I'm wrong. I can quite happily remove the autonumber field [UID] and make the unique [DepartmentID] field the PK, but this just doesn't seem "correct" to me.
Should I do this? Should I have an autonumber field as the PK?
I realise this is more a design theory question than a form problem as such, but anything that clarifies my understanding of correct design practice will help.
EDIT:- I'd also like to say that I did it this way to get away from using the "LOOKUP" field type at table design time, specifically to avoid this very problem of numbers showing up when I want the text there!
I am trying to filter out information for an ODBC query I have written, to obviously make it more concise. Because our data is not set up very logically, a lot of my queries are based on text...but that is another story. My current situation starts with a simple make-table query finding certain data within a date range. This is followed up by another simple make-table query to find other specific data within another specified date range. Then I have a cross-tab query between the two tables to locate all the data that shares the same unique identifiers. My problem lies with trying to only pull information from a certain date range. For example, I want information to be included if the data has the same unique identifier as well as falls within +/- 7 days of the received date (dd/mm/yyyy) also listed in one of the tables. Each record will likely have different received dates so I cannot set it as a constant.
Make sense to anyone? I am not confident enough to play around with some expressions...well it is more I haven't been successful at using them correctly.
So I have a search form that I created that has also a subform (a continous form, that has a query as its source) where my records are listed. I started on making a Between dates filter where i would be able to pick dates and get the results of records that are in that range.
I put two text boxes in which I set format to Short Date so that I get the button to select the date from a calendar for each text box. Then I made a button that is only for this and added a Clickon code so that it filters my subform over the recordsource of the form. The problem is is that i get an error and it doesn't filter.
Code:
Private Sub btnDatumUpis_Click() Dim SQL As String SQL = "SELECT qrySearchV.VID, qrySearchV.MarkVoz, qrySearchV.ModelVoz, " _ & "qrySearchV.TipMot, qrySearchV.Regist, qrySearchV.VlaVoz, " _ & "qrySearchV.KorVoz, qrySearchV.KatV, qrySearchV.DatumUVoz, " _
I have two subforms in a main form. book_sub and book order subform. there are various subforms which i toggle in book order subform window by changing their properties with command button on main form. here is the code -
Code: private sub billq_click() Me.BOOK_SUB.SourceObject = "BILLQ" Me.BOOK_SUB.LinkMasterFields = "[BOOK ORDER SUBFORM].FORM![ORDER ID]" Me.BOOK_SUB.LinkChildFields = "[order ID]" private sub stock_click() Me.BOOK_SUB.SourceObject = "stock" Me.BOOK_SUB.LinkMasterFields = "[BOOK ORDER SUBFORM].FORM![BOOKCD]" Me.BOOK_SUB.LinkChildFields = "[BOOKCODE]"
Now the problem is when i change billq to stock it shows parameter entry window with caption [order id] twice. after clicking ok it does toggle the form to stock. then when i click button for billq again it shows the same thing.
the code works fine except showing parameter entry window twice with every toggle.
I'm creating a database for my inventory. For now, my database have two tables namely tblSupplies and tblDetails. I have a main from (frmMain) and a subform (subDetails). On the main form i have a combobox (cboSupplies) and 5 textboxes, the cboSupplies and the five textboxes are unbound. If I select a value in cboSupplies it will populate the rest of the textboxes-OK.
What I want to accomplish is that when I select a value in cboSupplies it will grab all related records from the tblDetails and populate these records on the subform (subDetails).
SuppliesID was used as the link field from mainform to subform but its not working. Please note that SuppliesID field in tblSupplies and tblDetails has a One-to-Many relationships.
On one of my queries, the dataset is shown with a * as the last record. There's nothing in it apart from blank data but it is appearing on my forms. All my other queries do not seem to have this.
I have a DB with Start Date (dd.mm.yyyy), End Date (dd.mm.yyyy) and Quarters. We have 4 Quarters (Jan-March, April-June, July-Sep, Oct-Dec) and extra columns of month (xxx) and year (yyyy) too.
The problem is the front end users have access permissions to modify the dates. if they change the start date and end date then they are manually gonna change other fields like quarter, month and year too (Which they don't want). The users don't need to manually update the column values for Quarter, Month and Year
For Example,
If the user modifies Start Date to: 22.05.2014 and End Date to: 24.06.2014 (then the quarter column should be fixed to 2nd quarter and month should be June and year should be 2014).
2nd Example: We need to consider the End Date for classifying the quarters, Month and Year
If the Start Date is: 22.05.2014 and End Date is: 24.12.2014 (then the quarter column should be fixed to 4th quarter and month should be December and year should be 2014).
The solution is when ever the front end user modifies the dates then automatically the quarter, month and year columns need to be changed.
Sample piece of Access data sheet with just 3 examples. Column names Start date, End date, Quarter, Month, Year.
Is it possible to have a combo box that shows date and text? I would like to have a combo box with dates that also allows the user to choose the word "unassigned." the reason for this is because sometimes we don't know dates due until a future time and that is specifically what my boss wants. They don't want the field empty either.
I have a table that lists classes available (tblCourses); one that lists class dates (tblDates) and another that lists employees (tblEmployees). I have a fourth table that combines that data into classes taken by the employee (tblTraining). I have a form to input the employee's training with combobox fields for the COURSETITLE and CLASSDATE. I want the CLASSDATE field to only display the dates available for the specific class that was selected. How do I do that?
Can someone tell me how I migh find a record in a main form based a a selection in my subform?
I have a Main form called frm_ProductionSchedule.
It contains three subforms: frm_ProductionSchedule_subform frm_ProductionSchedule2_subform frm_ProductionSchedule3_subform
I would like to be able to select a record within any of the subforms and have the main form display it. The main form is linked to a SQL server Table. The subform are based on queries. The unique PK field is a date field called record_date.
I should add that the Link Child/Master fields are blank for all Subforms. Each Subform is linked to a query and displays data for a particular machine (1,2 or 3) AND is updated based on a combo selection of the Production week. The queries for one subform would look something like this:
I want to be able to print preview a report based on 1 record record selected in the subform. So using the example above i'd like to print the record on say 01/01/13 as a report that contains all the information from the item table and only the information on the 01/01/13 from the record table.
