Forms :: Subform Not Displaying Record

Apr 13, 2015

I have 3 tables:

tblAnagrafica
TabellaPIP
TabellaJoinPIP

By wizard I have build a form that collect data from a query: "QueryPIP2Tabelle"

The main Form :" frmtblAnagraficatest"
display correct data from tblAnagrafica,

BUT the subform: "frmTabellaPIP Sottomascheratest" does not display data from TabellaPIP.

Relations are many -to-many but, because it's my first building database, can be incorrect.

Forms :: Subform Not Displaying Data For Certain Records

Jan 22, 2015

I have a main form which displays data regarding stock takes for a number of locations. The form is bound to a query which is based on a table containing a STOCKTAKE_ID field which is an autonumber field. The STOCKTAKE_ID is present on the main form

I then have a subform which is linked to the mainform via STOCKTAKE_ID.

When I open the form for a particular location the subform displays data, no problem. When I do the same for other locations the form is blank. If I check the table that the subform is based on, there is a record with correct STOCKTAKE_ID but for some reason the form won't display it. There are also no duplicates.

Forms :: Displaying Record Number?

how to make a text box on a form display the record number so it can be seen along side record selector buttons.

I'd rather have my own then use the record selector option that displays at the bottom of the form when enabled.

Forms :: First Record Not Displaying In Subforms

May 15, 2013

I have a form with some tabbed subforms. Master/Child links are set, everything is bound. When I open the form to display records (based on search criteria on the switchboard form), let's say it returns 6 records for someone, they are sorted by date and so the newest would display first.

But when it opens, the main form shows all the appropriate data, but the subforms don't show at all. Just a blank box where the subform control should be. If I click next record (and any thereafter) they all display correctly immediately. Now if I go to the 2nd record, then back to my 1st record, it displays correctly.

I'm guessing it must have something to do with the onLoad event of either the main form or subforms, but I don't have anything in there for OnLoad....no code at all.

Forms :: Displaying Tickmark For Each Record In One Of The Columns

Feb 14, 2014

I am attempting to display a tickmark (wingdings character 0252) . I have two columns with textbox controls. In each I display a -1 or Null, and the format is ; [Green] (corresponding to the 0252)

For each record, there can be a tickmark in one (and only one) of the columns, or no tickmark in any columns. The tickmark is set by clicking on the control. Unfortunately, the entire square occupied by the tickmark is selected, so it looks weird, so long as the cursor remains there. I want to get rid of that (it goes away by itself if I click on the other record).

I have tried to set the Txtbox.SelSTart=0 or Textbox.SelLength=0 , or change the value from -1 to 1 (that influences which position in the format is affected) ...but a postbox character keeps croppping up in theses instances.

Forms :: Highlight Unbound Subform Record That Matches Other Subform Record

Jan 22, 2014

I have two unbound unlinked subforms residing on a 3rd unbound main form. When I enter the current record on Subform1 I would like the matching record(s) on Subform2 to be highlighted or otherwise formatted. I can get this to work for only the first record on subform2 due to the way I have my code setup on Subform1:

Code:
Private Sub Accounting_Unit_Enter()
'find where AUs match. only works for first Subform2 record
If Me.[Accounting Unit] = Forms!MainForm.[Subform2]!AccountingUnit Then
msgbox "Match"
End If
End Sub

My thought was that I needed to reference the Recordset of Subform2 and search for all AccountingUnits that match the current AccountingUnit of Subform1,

Forms :: Displaying Blank Form Instead Of Current Record

Jun 5, 2014

I have created a navigation form with quick access to the forms and reports I use most often. The Navigation Form (which I named Control Panel) automatically lands on the Tutor_Information Form on a current record. However, I would like for it to open to a blank form instead while retaining the ability to access the current records. Individually, when opening the Tutor_Information Form from the Navigation Panel, it opens to a blank record.

I used a 2 step macro

1. OpenForm
2. GoToRecord - New.

How can I make it do the same thing when landing on the Navigation Form (Control Panel)? I am using Access 2013.

Forms :: Selecting Record In Parent Subform From Child Continuous Subform

Jan 26, 2014

I have two subforms on a main form. Both use similar queries and nearly the same set of records and PK. The first subform is for data entry and the 2nd subform is a continuous form that lists the entries in order that are made from the 1st Subform. (for entering in vacation days and appointments)

The continuous form cannot be edited, it is to be a list for viewing the information only.

I have an edit button next to each record on the continuous form. When the button is clicked, I want it to take the 1st subform to that specific record as well (same PK), so the information can be edited there.

I cannot figure out how to get the 1st subform to go to the record on the continuous form when the button next to that record is clicked on the continuous form.

I tried the DoCmdSearch for record and just keep getting object is not open errors.

Forms :: Saving New Record When Moving To Another Record In Same Subform

Jan 17, 2014

I have a subform with records of call details (date, time, subject) - the date and time are autogenerated and subject is a text field. After entering text in the subject field and then clicking on the close button in the main form, or clicking anywhere else in the main form, the record is saved to the table. However, if I enter text in the subject field and then move up to view previous records (within the subform) and then click the close button in the main form the record is not saved in the table. How can I either save the record before allowing the user to move to another record within the subform or before exiting the subform set the focus to the new record so that it will be saved on exit?

Displaying Data In A Subform.

May 8, 2006

I have a form that displays a specific set of data depending what you select in a group of list boxes before. See image below:

13516

You select a PIPELINE, a YEAR and then a HAZARD, and this brings up a series of risk assessments depending on what you've selected. The RISK ASSESSMENT is actually a subform thats been set up to look like a list box. (Side Note: The reason I have done this rather than just use a normal list box for the risk assessment is I wanted to have a combo box attached to each record in the list box. Access does not allow you to do that so I had to fudge it). The RISK ASSESSMENT subform is populated by a query. At the bottom of the form is a normal list box displaying the same information thats in the RISK ASSESSMENT - I have done this as a test to ensure that my fudged subform is doing it's job.

From the fist screen capture you can see that the combination of PIPELINE, YEAR and HAZARD produces 3 risk assessments - this is also confirmed in my test list box. Everything is ok so far.

The problem I have is that I can only get my subform to display the data when the PIPELINE selected in the first screen capture is selected. Any other pipeline selection does not display the data in RISK ASSESSMENT. However, I know the data is there as my test list box displays the data. See image below:

13517

Therefore, my question is, why would data be displayed in the subform for some selections but not others, even though the data is there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Best Regards,

Aaron

Subform: Displaying Toptext When There Are No Records

Dec 20, 2007

Hi,

This is not a very big issue, but a very annoying one. I'm making a weekly display of tasks preformed (One subform for each day). The functionality is almost like a timesheet. You register the hours worked on spesific tasks/projects.

The problem I got now is that the textbox containing the date (In the subform) is not displayed when there is no records in the subform. The date is set by the motherform - Me.Form!frmday1.Form.VarDate = Me.day1

Displaying Query Results In A Subform

Sep 14, 2005

Hi,

This is a Query / Forms question...

I have 2 tables setup with a 1 to many relationship, simialr to 1 Customer having 1 or more orders. I created a query to prompt for all orders for a particular customer. I then created a form based on this query - i.e. linked the query to a form.

Now when I open the form I am prompted for the customer id and when I enter this all of the results of the query are displayed in 1 form. However, this is not what I want. I would like the orders for the customer to be displayed within a subform on the actual form. In this way the customer details will static and I can cycle through the customer orders in the subform separately.

Is there any way I can setup my query to display the results in this way? I need the prompt for the customer ID. Or is there any way I can setup the form to display the results in the above way?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Update: If I go to the datasheet view, the subform just continuously flashes...

Displaying Search Results Using Subform Or Other Control

Feb 23, 2006

Hi, I'm just wondering if it's possible to display the result of a query on a subform which does not have a relationship with any other table.

What I'm doing is creating a search form where a query is built from the users input (through combo boxes and text boxes) of what table, attribute and condition they want to search from. When they press the search button, I want the result to be displayed in a datasheet below the selection criteria

The first thing I thought of using to display information with was a subform, but I think the purpose of having the subform is so that it can be linked with a form. So, is there another control or way of displaying results. The results can come from any table.

Thanks.

Forms :: Continuous Subform - Last Record

Sep 14, 2014

I have a main form with a subform in continuous format. The subform displays the list of records and has a delete key allowing the user to delete that line (record) All works except if the user clicks the delete button on the new record line. Then there is an error message. Rather than use error trapping I would like to code a message OR simply beep to confirm nothing was done OR have the delete button disabled until something is entered into the record. The records do have a autonumber which I have in a hidden text box. I tried the following and even though the code shows that LineID does in fact = Null the code does not fire.

If Me.LineID = Null Then
DoCmd.Beep
Exit Sub
End If

Forms :: Subform Needs To Open On First Record

Jul 27, 2015

I have a series of combo boxes on subforms whose control sources are fields in a table that has a many-to-one relationship to the main case-information table meaning that there will likely be several records for any case. I need each combo box to open onto the first record for each case rather than create a new record. I've seen code that does this, but under somewhat different conditions, and my VBA skills are too rudimentary for me to be able to adapt the code to my needs.
